Wet: Orange cream Dry: Spicy orange 1 hour: A little more woody. And is not a mix of spicy creamy orange. The patchouli makes it a much more interesting “spice” than plain cinnamon. Last 5-6 hours. Around hour 5 it turned into a really low throw musk. Wow. This surprised me. So sexy and the ways its a creamy spicy orange scent is totally NOM worthy.

I was most excited to try this Le Mat! Wet: Spicy frankincense. 10 mins: I thought this would be more light and herby but this is RICH 1 hour: Deep, very unisex. I don’t usually like this, but it’s gorgeous. While it was nothing like I was expecting - much darker - it is soo pretty. Aged it will be even better.

Wet: Well blended, I can’t pick out a single note but the smell is earthy, dark and a hint of spice. 10 mins: Spicy incense. ½ hours: Dark incense. 1 ½ hour: Once in a while will get a waft of mushroom but it’s not overpowering. 2 ½ hour: Slightly fruity, mostly earthy no more spice. Nice, but I'm not into the earthy scents. If you are, pick a bottle of this up!

WOW. I like this one a LOT more than I thought I would. I just had to get something called Velvet Unicorn, list of notes be damned! I am a berry fiend, but some scents like Maenad get too sticky candy for me. So I was apprehensive trying Unicorn on. Wet: Coconut cream. Drying: Still coconutty for some reason. 15 minutes: Sweeter and more cakey. 1 hour: Delicious cake. 3 hours: A hint of sweet candy fruits without the stickiness! 4 hours: Vanilla musk with a bit of sweetness. It lasted surprisingly long, had a low-medium throw, and was more yummy to me than my All Souls decant. Verdict: OMFG I WANT CAKE. Edited to say: I didn't really get any of the notes that were listed - no cherry fluff, spun sugar, and the berry scent didn't last long at all. I kind of wish I could smell this one someone who got all those scents, but at the same time what I ended up with was yummeh.

The Nanny left me quite confused. Wet: All wood and leather. Very manly and cologney. Drying: I get a hint of berries, and boy, and they delcious. 2 Hours: Wood. All the juniper and leather. 3 Hours: A hint of the berry with a smack of leather. 4 Hours: All cologne again. 5 Hours: Back to the red juicy berry, not a manly scent in sight. 6 Hours: Back to cologne. Well. The good news is this lasted really long on me... the bad news is WTF? I my notes for the day I wrote "Why can't this make up its mind?" I wrote down times and everything and it literally changed once an hour. I have no idea.

This is one of the very few rose notes from the Lab I can wear. As far as Alice goes, I have to age her to be able to wear her. (That sounded kind of wrong, didn't it) When I got fresh Alice last year in my first slew of imps ever, it turned to soap immediately. I gifted it to a friend whose skin chemistry I envy. The lab frimped me Alice in my second order and I packed her away, forgotten for around 6 months. Afterwards, gorgeous. This is the scent that I wanted when it was on my friend. Aged Alice is amazing. (Alliteration is unintentional) She is creamy and spicy from the milk and carnation. Smooth and sweet from the honey, and not a soapy rose in sight! I can only wear about 3 perfumes with roses in them to date, but that doesn't stop me from trying.

The scent of tea - BPAL's tea note, BPAL blends like your favorite tea
mejuxtaposed replied to sarada's topic in Recommendations
Have you tried The East (The scent of the winds beyond the wall: bluebonnet, passion flower, freesia, jasmine tea, mint, thyme, and redcurrant.) It is totally delicious jasmine tea on me. The herbs and flowers blend so neither becomes too overpowering. /sigh still looking for that delicious black tea scent. I do love White Rabbit but the tea note disappears on me as well and Dorian and I did not get along. EDIT: Whoops! Thanks Anna! -
I love the concept. Bottle: Delicious. Fig. Berry. Cream. Mmmm. Wet: Berry. Fig... dusty leather? That would be the "paper bag" that everyone else gets leather from as well. Dry: Smells like green fruit. Probably because of the fig, but its more of a stemmy scent than rich fruit. 4 hours later: All cream and leather. Don't get me wrong, it smells delicious, I just miss a bit of the berries... I won't mind reapplying though

Being a Southern Jersey Girl myself, I had to try this! (I even dated a piney once, our version of rednecks) Ahem. It starts out a rich green. You can get all the pine and spicy tomato leaf. There's the berry to make it just a tad juicy. And the wood is there to ground it out. A gorgeous blend. This makes you think of summer in the woods, plain and simple. After a few hours, the cedar really comes out and lays everything to dirt. But before that, it is beautiful.

In the Vial: Mmmmm blackberry. Wet: I smell cherries for some reason and a hit of mint. Interesting but where did my beloved blackberries go? Drydown: WOW. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE! Its a sexy, delicious blackberry. 5 hours later: Still very faintly there. This is going to be my first big bottle purchase from the lab... and I might need a few back ups as well. Completely drool worthy. I rated it a 7 out of 5. (Yes I know that's ridiculous)

BPAL Fruit Blends - the many variations
mejuxtaposed replied to PilotKitten's topic in Recommendations
Hi there! Here are a few recommendations from little old me. Bon Vivant An effervescent blend of crystalline champagne notes and sweet strawberry I've never tried it, but its supposed to be sparkling strawberry. If you're a gourmand you might like Eat Me Three white cakes, vanilla, and red and black currants. It smells exactly as described, vanilla cake with a bit of fruit. Kitsune-Tsuki Asian plum, orchid, daffodil, jasmine and white musk. If you like florals, this is beautiful, its springtime flowers with the plum rounding it out. Milk Moon 2007 A fertile scent, generous, life-affirming, and swelling with a sense of triumph, warmth, and abundance: sweet milk, golden honey, fig fruit, pomegranate, dates, and white grape. I haven't tried 2005 but this is wonderful. Its creamy delicious fruit. I hope this helped a bit! Good luck! -
I don't get any lime from Lysander- only the blackberry leaf. But I also give a nod to Shoggoth, that turned and stayed straight lime on me.

I have an odd relationship with honey. In Lady Una it turns powerdery. I was expecting a much more fruity scent. This is rather light. I love Bewtiched and was hoping it would smell something like that, but it's much different. More sweetness and powder. It turns into an odd soapy smell. Not rose soap like I usually get, but something reminds me of soap. I love blackberry leaf in The Jersey Devil, but in Lady Una I don't get it at all. It doesn't smell like cat litter or pee which is a blessing. But it still doesn't smell like I thought. Not bad. Just much lighter than I anticipated.

I get milk from White Rabbit - it starts off peppery for me but then mellows out to a nice milky white floral.
