CROSSROADS In Bottle: Sweet florals and earth On Skin: This is a very unique scent, the dominant note I can’t pin down! It’s sweet yet slightly pickley. I also get a “Zombi” feel from this right away and I’m thinking that’s because of the earth and moss. There is a cold feel, maybe one of the herbs is mint? It really is a nice refreshing chill. The sweet note is really racking my brain… what is it!?!? It’s a bit bubblegummy so maybe lotus? The sweet note is what makes this scent for me since I’m generally not into earthy or mossy blends. As the scent develops I smell jasmine and the incense is lightly spicy… a very sweet spice but it does make the scent quite powdery. This is such a neat scent, I will keep the imp for sure. Light to medium throw, short to average wearlength.

NAMASTE On Bottle: Lemony woods On Skin: Lemongrass is the donimant note right away, very bright and yellow. It is quite sour and makes me eyes water a bit. The woods are second, especially the cedar which is sharp as well. Combining these with rose just really brings home the sour, sharp feel from this scent. Even the jasmine can’t sweeten this scent on me. I can’t smell the patchouli at all surprisingly. The blend is quite calming but not really pleasant on me, I’ve never really been crazy about lemon blends. It is a dry scent, slightly powdery. If you like lemon scents, try this one for a woody variation. Medium throw and average wearlength.

WANTON Feminine sexuality in its rawest form. Palmarosa, red sandalwood, attar of rose, patchouli. In Bottle: Rose and pickles On Skin: Red sandalwood sometimes takes on a slight pickley scent on me… here is just the case. It is quite strong and slightly sour… The rose adds to that sourness. The palmarosa has a bit of a bitter edge, similar to geranium. And the patchouli adds a earthy spice in the background. An interesting blend but not really one for me especially since I really dislike rose and patchouli. This is more for someone who loves rose and especially with an earthy woody twist. I don’t really get female sexuality from this either, it seems much more masculine to me. Overall I would call it a woody rose incense blend. Strong throw and long wearlength.

SUSPIRO In Bottle: Lily and jasmine On Skin: Wow, a lot of the blends I’ve been reviewing have had jasmine in them. I don’t love or hate jasmine, but it is a note that generally seems to take over. In this scent it is quite heavy and gives a purple tone. The lilies are the second in command, they lend a more elegant tone. The orchid plays along with the other florals beautifully as does the ylang ylang… this scent is very white and purple in feel. The white plum is sweet but not overly fruity, this is still what I would call a floral blend but very delicate in nature… not overwhelming at all. A very feminine scent, very light and soft. It has a light to medium throw and a short wearlength.

JABBERWOCKY In Bottle: Super eucalyptus On Skin: The Jabberwocky is one of my favorite parts of Alice in Wonderland… The eucalyptus is crazy strong. Wow! Yes, I’m awake. The orange sweetens it just slightly and has a lovely citrus tone. And the pine has the sort of artficial Christmas sweet feel to it. This really isn’t a scent for me, it’s super strong and none of the notes are ones that really work on me. I see it more as a room scent, and even then used very lightly since it is so overwhelming. It has a very strong throw but short to average wearlength.

THE CATERPILLAR In Bottle: Sweet floral On Skin: I get a soft powdery violet feel from this scent. The jasmine and neroli seem to be the dominant notes. The carnation and bergamot help cut the heavy sweetness of the jasmine. I can’t actually really smell the patchouli in this blend… just that I get a little hint of incense. The vetiver is suprisingly light as well, just a little helping of earthy tone. About a half hour into drydown it becomes primarily a sweet floral incense. Pretty but nothing that special to me. It has a medium throw and average wearlength.

This is a super old review of mine, but it looks like I never posted it... ZOMBI I was excited for this scent since 2 of my friends say it's one of their favorites. In the bottle it is very "dirt" scented. I put it on and the first thing I thought was... it smells like a fishtank. This is not a bad thing, fishtanks don't smell like fish, they smell like very earthy water... maybe it's the algea in them. I'm thinking it is the moss notes that give this scent. After an hour, it's smelling better. It's a sour Poison like smell (which I love) with the dirt scent still dominant... but it's also turning kind of powdery. I'd say it still smells a bit aquatic, but that's a good thing. I love this scent, it is like nothing I've ever smelled and I think it will catch people's attention.

RAPTURE In Bottle: Rose soap On Skin: this is full on rose, very soapy and it gives me an old lady feel. Rose is almost always sharp and sour on me, and here that is the case again. The jasmine sweetens it up a bit but not enough for my liking. The neroli gives an exotic feel and the Arabian Musk and Egyptian Myrrh are quite sexy but they’re faint background notes. I can’t really smell any mandarin… The rose is dominant and that’s pretty much all I can smell. This scent is so sharp it makes my eyes water a bit, very perfumey. I love the dark exotic notes in the back, but the front notes scare me off from this scent. Average to strong throw and long wearlength.

SZEPASSZONY In Bottle: Clean and ozone On Skin: The ozone in this scent is quite different. It seems to be touched with a bit of citrus and also something sweet. Beautiful white florals, so clean and elegant. This scent just seems so graceful. As a matter of fact Princess Grace (someone I always greatly admired) comes to mind when I smell this. A ozone scent, complete with florals and a light fruit undertone. It is a womans scent for sure, full of beauty and grace. Very light, but an ozone scent I could actually see myself wearing. Most ozone and aquatic blends go very soapy on me. This one has so many more levels and keeps from being too sharp. It has a light to medium throw and average wearlength.

HIGH JOHN THE CONQUEROR In Bottle: Super sweet fruit On Skin: The dominant note is a very sweet fruit with a tart edge, more of a red grape than a green one… and not fresh grapes, more like grapejuice. There is also a beautiful soft floral. I also think I smell the telltale sweet bubblegummy lotus. The blending on this scent is amazing and it’s making it hard for me to determine individual notes. I just a very pretty feel from this, muted colors and warm undertones. I love this scent, I just wish it was stronger. It has a very light throw and has a short to average wearlength.

BEWITCHED In Bottle: Tea and berries On Skin: The berries are the dominant note, very dark red and purple in tone. They aren’t very juicy, it’s a more powdery berry feel. Next I smell the green tea, but it is quite subdued, usually green tea is very strong on me but here it takes a back seat. The sage gives a sharp green herbal note, very refreshing and helps the berries from being too heavy. The dark musk is a background note and adds a nice depth and evens the scent out overall. The scent is quite light and I really need to breathe in to smell it. Too light in fact, it doesn’t do much for me sadly. Super light throw and short wearlength.
-
LORALEI In Bottle: Sour floral On Skin: This scent is quite soft and powdery, and the sour feel fades once it’s on my skin. The dominant note is the neroli on me, which is quite pleasant. It is a very soft velvety scent… a thin velvet, nothing plush… and the sandalwood helps with that feel. The ylang ylang is also quite light, which is odd because it usually amps on me. Here the three notes blend so well and compliment each other perfectly. It’s a beautiful delicate scent, but sadly only hangs around on me for about a half hour. Very light throw and very short wearlength.
-
DESTROYING ANGEL In Bottle: Funky dirt On Skin: The dry dirt is the dominant note, but there is a “funky” feel to it. Sour and slightly metallic. Eeeekk! This scent is not working on me at all. It does really remind me of mushrooms, and I do not like mushrooms. It’s musty, funky and much too earthy for my tastes. Sorry for the short review, I need to wash this one off. Strong throw and I’m note sure about the wearlength since I wahed it off.
-
MANTIS In Bottle: Resin and ozone On Skin: What an interesting combination! I get an ozone feel from this right away, whicj I can’t really relate to any of the notes other than the herbs. They give a beautiful green feel with a slight soapy edge. The resin and musk are in the background but ground the scent with a sexy side. I really can’t smell the patchouli which is good for me since I’m not a patchouli fan. This scent is very soft and with the sweet gorgeous resinous notes and the clean herbal notes, the contrast that they create is quite unique. If you like ozone blends but they are usally too sharp on you, try this one since it has such a sweet soft side. It fades quickly but the echo that remains is quite nice. I’d love this on men or women, it’s quite unisex. Soft throw and average wearlength.

LIME SINGLE NOTE In Bottle: Super lime On Skin: On my skin this smells like Gatorade gum. Not sure if they still make it, but I remember chewing it as a kid and it was the tartest, most delicious gum. This is sweet and sour at the same time. It seems like lime candy, not fresh lime zest, lime wedges or lime juice at all. Someone above compared it to a Lime Lifesaver and that is it exactly!!!!! I can even feel it in my mouth as I smell this. While it is quite a tasty smell, it’s not one I’d really wear but it could be fun for layering. It is more soft and mellow than bright and sharp like I was expecting… hmmm… It has a good throw and the wearlength is also average to long. A very nice single note!

SHADOW WITCH ORCHID In Bottle: Orchids On Skin: A beautiful perfumey orchid… so pure. While I’m not a huge fan of florals, orchids seem to work on me. Maybe because they’re one of my favorite flowers and I associate their scent with so many happy memories. This orchid is very strong, very perfumey and quite heady. It reminds me of my honeymoon in Tahiti, very tropical and the flower markets were huge with orchids being an almost common flower. The scent is slightly sour but with a very sweet base that helps even the overall tone of the scent. If I were wanting to wear a floral scent, this would be one of the first ones I’d reach for… well after Black Lily. I also like it a bit more than Black Orchid. Strong throw but it fades quicker than other scents, so I’d say a short to average wearlength.

THE SCALES OF DEPRIVATION In Bottle: Lavender and wood On Skin: This scent is so velvety soft, wow! The frankincense seems to be strongest with the beautiful sandalwood coming in second. The lemon peel is so light, it is just a sliver of citrus far in the background but keeps the scent from being too dark. The sage isn’t too medicinal which is nice, it’s a very subtle herbal note in this blend. The lavender is quite strong, but it’s pretty! It’s not the super herbal lavender that usually makes my eyes water. Labdanum can do no wrong in my book and here it is gorgeous. It adds to the soft feel of the scent, so comforting. And last, the vetiver is completely under control. YAY! It does offer a nice earthy note, not the pungent ick it usually turns to on my skin. Somehow all these notes, several which I normally hate, all blend together beautifully. This is a great example of how freaking amazing Beth is. A very pretty scent, one I’d love to use to fall asleep to or smell on my husband as I snuggle him. It reminds me of a much more mellow version of Incantation. Light to medium throw, and a short to average wearlength.

MOSCOW In Bottle: Fruit and rose On Skin: The rose is the strongest note in this scent at first… but then the jasmine takes over completely. It is very sweet and the lily of the valley starts to come out, very shy, but still making an appearance. I don’t really smell the carnation, a note that usually doesn’t work on me. The musk and amber play a beautiful role as dark and velvety notes that sneak in between the florals. I can’t smell the tangerine at all though. I could in the bottle, but on my skin it gets eaten up completely. About a half hour into drydown the carnation finally makes it’s way through. It is very much a floral scent, but not a bright one. It’s more muted and soft… It has a medium throw and great wearlength.
-
ARKHAM In Bottle: Dainty violets On Skin: Dainty is the word for this scent, it feels so light and fragile. Very floral and barely even there. The violet is strongest followed by the phlox. The bergamot is slightly bitter but not overwhelming. The woods soften the scent and distract from the light sour tone of the florals. The moss brings it all together with a nice earthy base. I can’t believe how soft this scent is, I have to strain to smell it, even after only 5 minutes of wearing it. If it was stronger I might like it a bit more, but being as light as it is, I don’t really feel like I’m wearing any perfume. Plus, it’s strongly floral which isn’t very me. Very, very light throw and super short wearlength. By the way it is nothing like the Discontinued Arkham (a completely different blend), just in case anyone was wondering.
-
NYARLATHOTEP In Bottle: Fruity ozone On Skin: I get a strong citrus feel from this one right off the bat. It’s a sweet lemon, maybe even verbena. There is also a very interesting dark aquatic note… not a bright summer’s wave, no this is a scary, dark deep “what’s down there” middle of the ocean feel. I am scared to death of dark water and this scent evokes that feeling. But I like it because the lemon gives a beautiful yellow glimmer of hope that cuts right through the scent. There is also a sweet incense spice that drifts in and out of the scent, so intriguing. I’m usually not crazy about lemon or aquatic scents, but these notes mixed together really work! A beautiful scent full of contrasts. A must try for sure! Medium throw but short wearlength.
-
GNOME In Bottle: Herbal and earthy On Skin: Most the elementals are herbal and earthy on me, two catagorys I don’t really go for. But I still like to try all the scents, so here we go… I get a very strong earthy dirt note. It smells like dusty earth though, not moist at all. It is also slightly resinous which makes me believe there is patchouli in this blend. Maybe a bit of vetiver as well. So to sum up this scent quickly, earth and a bit of a medicinal herb. Not my type of scent at all so I must swap it. Strong throw and long wearlength.

TWENTY-ONE In Bottle: Gin On Skin: Wow, yes a martini! I didn’t know it was going to be so literal! This has gin, a very junipery scent, as it’s dominant note. I prefer vodka martinis but don’t hate me for it! LOL! This scent is very sharp and very boozy. But it doesn’t make you smell like you’ve been up drinking all night, don’t worry. It’s very clean and clear, with a ripe, crystal feel. I also sense a little citrus zest, like the little curl of lemon or lime they use to garnish a martini. It’s a nice scent, not one for me really… but if you enjoy piney scents, try it for sure. Medium throw with an average wearlength.
-
ENDYMION In Bottle: Tart fruits and florals On Skin: I smell the pear right away which is a wonderful thing since D’Anjou pear is one of my favorite BPAL single notes. It is sweet but the sour rose slices through and gives the scent a tart feel. The lily of the valley adds to the white feel of this scent. I get a crisp white and light green tone from this scent. The white musk is so clean and soft. It blankets the scent in a sheer white cotton sheet. This scent is very light and spring feeling. I wish the rose was a bit more subtle, but besides that I love it. I could see this becoming a regualr spring scent for me. It has a nice close to the skin throw that makes you lean in to smell it and a short to average wearlength.
-
CTHULHU In Bottle: Men’s soap On Skin: This has a sharp men’s soapy feel. It doesn’t really fit the description… it seems a bit too clean. I would prefer a darker feel from this, because this scent is so clean it’s actually comforting and not dark or creepy to me. It is gorgeous though, to smell at least. I don’t wear ozone or aquatic scents because they just don’t feel like me… I prefer sweeter, foody, musky and exotic scents. But I like scents like this one on men. I wouldn’t mind smelling this on my husband. It has a great strong throw and a long wearlength. A must for anyone who enjoys aquatic, clean soapy scents.
-
AZATHOTH In Bottle: Vetiver On Skin: The vetiver comes out right away, dark earthy and pungent. Vetiver is a note that doesn’t agree with me so I’m a bit worried. The cedarwood is the next dominant note, sweet but woody with a smoky tinge. The amber is also dark and adds to the menacing feel of this scent. The saffron offers an exotic spice and the tangerine is a pretty orange spark in the dark. This scent fits it’s description perfectly. It’s not a scent for me that’s for sure, the vetiver is just much too strong. It has a strong throw and long wearlength.
