Winter smells and scents, including the perfect winter forest
Redon replied to Fury's topic in Recommendations
Thanks for your advice! I have ordered Archangel Winter, Snow Storm and Shivering Boy, as well as an imp pack of old loves and potential new loves (Szesspazzony, villain, Olokun, Niflheim, R'Lyeh, tempest). I look forward to my new wintry scents! -

Snow storm: where is that? Sounds right up my alley! I don't see it in search on the black phoenix site. Unfortunately, I dislike mint so maybe ultraviolet isn't best for me. -

I love szepassony. Didn't like snow white ---too much coconut. I like fresh winter air, pine trees, cold streams, wet leaves and the sharp bite of storms. Any recommendations? Particularly among the new scents? I'd love to hear your thoughts! -
Tempest has grown to be one of my favorite scents, and I can't beleive I haven't reviewed this lovely yet. Tempest is a rainstorn in a green meadow, very strong ozone and green. I layer it on top of practically everything, because while I like florals, I like florals even better in the rain! It is a brillantly fresh standalone scent too, unique and evocative.

It's pure cold coconut on me...alas, I was hoping for more snow and white florals and cold air. A ton of throw for such a light scent, though. Coconut is not really my thing, but I got a 5ml based on the description, which was lovely. Well, it's not as if I don't have practically every cold/white floral/ozone/aquatic bpal makes, so I guess I can make do without a Snow White floral...if I sell it, it's just more scents to buy!

Fresh, rainwashed flowers. Bright and clean, a perfect spring scent. The scent is remarkably stable from imp to skin and over time. I really like it.

This starts out as straight strong juniper on me, but quickly that fades back and lets a bit of the cedar, lily of the valley and violet show through. It ends up as a green floral with a hint of juicy resin. Very fresh and clean but not soapy or overly flowery.

Ooh! I like this one. Not as ozone-y as I expected (not anywhere near as ozone as Tempest, for instance); just a nice, clean, watery floral. I can see how people might get "dryer sheets" since it's very clean-smelling. I don't get a masculine feel at all--maybe in a few hours that will appear but for now it's just a bright after-rain scent.

Lady of Shalott is a beautiful watery floral. It smells like wet white flowers and a bit of crushed greens. Actually, it smells a lot like Estee Lauder's Beyond Paradise (in the rainbow bottle) except without the "perfumey" smell and with the greenery in addition to the flowers. They don't seem to have many notes in common but they're very similar in scent. It reminds me of the trees in our yard that would get masses of white flowers in spring. Anyway, I LOVE this and bought a 10ml after trying the imp. I guess I really like gardenia, who knew? It's probably best as a spring/summer scent but I like it so much I'm wearing it now.

This is a sophisticated lavender, like a very expensive lavender aftershave. I've had bad luck with the masculine scents on me but this is remarkably attractive. There's a bit of soapiness in there, but not cloying, just mellowing. The lime and lavender are a spectacular combo.

Hunger is lovely, sweet and spice. I get mostly spice from it, but it's not a dry spice; the orange blossom and vanilla mellow it out. It reminds me of Oscar de la Renta in the oriental floral-ness. Overall, it's very sexy and wearable and after using up half the imp I ordered a bottle.
