Oh my. This is just a sunny, lovely floral. Definitely smells like clover honey dripped over slightly spicy lilies. There's a lot of honey here for me, but it somehow manages not to be too sweet. This is perfect for warm sunny days, and I think I may need a bottle of this.

In the imp and wet, this is a bit acrid on me. The smoke smell is very sharp and there's definite cherry behind it. Once this dries, it mellows beautifully. The leather comes out on me and I really do feel like I'm sitting in front of a roaring fire beside someone smoking a pipe in a leather chair. This is so gorgeous and comforting.

In the bottle this is very green and sharp florals. The peach and amber show up and soften the scent when I've put it on. I'm going to echo a lot of the other reviewers, this is just gorgeously blended and very, very refined. I feel expensive wearing this. I got this on a whim, and I'm terribly glad. It's absolutely lovely and elegant.

I generally don't go for fruity smells, so I was surprised by how much I liked this. The peach blends completely into the amber and sandelwood, leaving behind this exquisite sweet spicy, slighty fruity blend. This is a very warm scent, very ripe. This is a perfume for a WOMAN. I wish it had better staying power and more throw on me, though. After half an hour or so I have to smush my wrist to my nose to smell it, which I do a lot. I'll use up the imp before I decide about getting a larger bottle. This is definitely the good side of Tamora the mother and lover, not so much of the ravenous tiger.

I was so incredibly thrilled when I got this as a freebie in my last order because I'd been lusting after it ever since I saw it on the update. I aspire to be something of a sexy librarian myself, so this was the first thing I tried on when I opened my box of goodies. Very sharp and citrusy in the bottle, it mellows and gets much richer on the skin and during drydown. quatum spice and I must have similar skin chemistry, because it behaved exactly the same way on me, althought I thought it was pretty gender neutral, and I barely noticed the patchouli. Once dry, the amber, tonka, and leather became more prominent and make this very sexy. I really adore the leather in this, it's not a motorcycle jacket leather, rather an incredibly expensively bound book leather. Well done, Beth! This is a charismatic and naughty scent. I'm definitely wearing this when I want to feel entirely confidant.

Hmm. I'm glad I'm not the only one who got the citrus note, because that's definitely all I could smell in the bottle besides patchouli. Once on, it got sweeter, and I can pick up a hint of the clove and ylang ylang, but it's mostly slightly dusty patchouli. I like patchouli on other people, but not particularly on myself, so I think this will go to swap.

I'm joining the ranks of Dorian groupies. This is absolutely sinfully delicious. On me, it is truly black vanilla tea with just enough musk in the backgound to make me want to throw my panties at it. Very yummy, I definitely put a bottle on the next order I made after getting this imp.

If I hadn't discovered Amsterdam, I'd be all over this. It's a bright, refreshing aquatic floral. Good for clearing my head and calming myself a bit, although it doesn't have much staying power on me. I'm still on the fence about trading it, although I'll probably keep it around in case my imp of Amsterdam runs out before I can get some more.

This scent turned a bit weird on me. In the bottle, it smells like spicy clove and sassafrass goodness. On, however, something turns bitter. Maybe the almond. Bitter almond ... I don't get any rum at all. It's a bit too foody for me, even without the bitterness, so off to the swap pile.

Ooooh. This just became my favorite aquatic/floral scent. Just lovely, it smells exactly like sitting next to (or in) a crystal clear stream with lots of brightly colored, lightly scented flowers growing on the banks. This is essentially the same on me as it is in the imp, although the florals get a little sweeter and slightly less green as it dries down. Not much throw, but I can smell it on my skin for hours. It's gorgeous and clean and subtle. I need a much bigger bottle than this.

I wanted to like Kali so much. So far it's been the only 5ml I've bought unsniffed that didn't work on me at all. It was all sweet complex florals in the bottle, rich and thick and smoky. Immediately after putting it on my skin, however, something went very wrong. Something underneath the florals and the wine turned rancid. I think it might have been the chocolate, but whatever it was it made me sick at my stomach to smell it. As I had only swiped a tiny bit on, I just held my arm away from me and after an hour or so it had dried down into something sweet and spicy without the nastiness. I tried it again when I wasn't on my period, and wasn't overwhelmed as I was the first time, although the rancid smell was still there. I don't think I'll be able to survive whatever that first smell is, however, so off to swap to someone who it doesn't go evil on.

When wet and drying down it's too sweetly boozy for me. I'm reminded of being a small child at christmas parties where your drunken Aunt Esther keeps trying to hug you and pinch your cheeks with her fifth rum and coke in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Once it dried down, however, it became less cloyingly sweet and slightly less alcoholic. The leather is definitely coming through and blending gogeously with the tobacco. This is very sexy, in the very very bad for you sort of way. Not a perfume you bring home to meet your parents. I'm definitely keeping the imp and wearing it next time I go dancing, however.

This is gorgeous. Warm and sweet and possibly my new favorite floral smell. I'd like to smell this layed or in blends, though. I'm going to treasure my imp and I suspect my next order is going to be dragon's blood heavy. *sniffs wrist compulsively*

In the imp: Pineapple and coconut, pina colada! Wet: Pineapple and honey, pineapple upside-down cake! Drying: Pineapple and a slightly musky floral. Dry: The florals and musk are calming the pineapple down somewhat, and this is actually starting to strike me as quite elegant. This is very interesting. Playful and elegant at the same time. I'm thinking bright young thing on holiday somewhere exotic and going swimming slightly tipsy. If I liked fruity scents, I would love this. As it is, I'll pass this on to someone who'll wear it.

A bat-friendly bouquet! Evening primrose, night-scented stock, moonflower, night phlox, lemon balm, lavender, honeysuckle, sweet sage, salvia and thyme. The absolutely wonderful lab threw this in with my last order, and I was surprised by how much I love it. The florals and the lemony, herby notes blend gorgeously both in the bottle and on my skin, this has definitely changed the least drying down of the oils I've tried so far. Oooh! If I order a bottle now, by the time I get it it might actually be warm outside, because it just doesn't quite seem right to wear this with snow outside. Edited to add that I think I'll use up the imp before I buy a bottle, the inside of my elbow where I put this is feeling slightly sensitive and sting-y. I do hope I'm not allergic to something in this.

In the bottle this is an interesting mix of cedar and vanilla. Once it goes on, the cedar became the prominant note, which I'm beginning to expect from my skin. I spent the first half hour or so wishing I had a man to put this on, because it was incredibly yummy, but a bit too masculine for me. A few minutes of sawing through bamboo later, the cedar gave some ground to the vanilla and sassafrass. I really like this. I'm trying to convince myself not to impulse-order a bottle of it right now, actually.

This is very refreshing. Pure eucaplyptus wet, the orange and pine start to peek through and sweeten it after it dries. Not a fruit juicy orange, more orange zest which I definitely prefer. I think this may become my oil for pulling all-nighters. It clears my head as well as my sinuses.

Smells like grape soda in the imp. On my skin the mimosa comes out, which is lovely. This is very much a drinking fruity girly cocktails at a garden party sort of scent to me. Hmm. Lovely, but unfortunately I want to drink this rather than smell like it. Off to the swap pile, Madrid is just too candy-sweet for me.

Whoah. This is easily the most sexual BPAL scent I've smelled yet. This is sweet and smoky and it just changed and I'm starting to smell something dusty and earthy. This gets more androgynous as it dries down. I think I would have difficulty not jumping the bones of someone who smelled like this, man or woman. I don't know if it suits me, but I would absolutely love it on someone else.
-
Hmm, in the bottle this is very very green and almost astringant. Once on, it mellows to an absolutely lovely floral. This is a very balanced blend, the wood notes aren't jumping out as much as they usually do on me. I think I really like this a lot, but I'll have to try it again when I don't have Kathmandu on the other wrist taking over my nose.

Damn, the cedar really just takes over on my skin. There's some incense and something sweet and spicy in the background, but mostly I just smell like pine shavings. I don't know if I'll have the patience to leave this on until it develops the creaminess other reviews have mentioned. Not for me, I think.

So far I'm loving the Mad Tea Party Scents. In the bottle, The Caterpillar is all jasmine incense. On my skin it gets eathier and mossier, though the florals still stand out. This is very cozy, a definite keeper. I think I'm going to go take a nap now.

This was very herby and green in the imp, with the ginger making it tart enough that I feared briefly that I was going to have a lemon-Pledge sort of reaction to it. As soon as I put it on, however, it deepened and developed the complexity other reviews have mentioned. This is amazing; tea and sweet grass and the absolutely gorgeous fig that I wished there was more of in Nemesis. There are so many layers to this scent, I feel like I'm poking around in some teeny, slightly dusty Victorian living room with a nice warm cup of tea discovering that my host has led a surprisingly adventurous life. I want a HUGE bottle of this to slather!

Delicate white florals in the imp, the aquatic notes don't show up until I've got it on. I feel like I'm walking through a field of sweet clover just as it's starting to rain. But it's a warm, light, summer rain, and even though I don't have an umbrella I'm in no hurry to get home. This is absolutely lovely and soothing, but I think I'll have to wait until my Storm Moon gets here to decide whether or not to get a bottle.

In the bottle this is very medicinal and intense. But having read the reviews I maintained faith that it would change and swiped some on. Wet and drying on my skin, it got incredibly spicy and foody. The nutmeg completely took over and I smelled like the spice aisle in a gourmet grocery. Yummy, but not what I want to smell like. About half an hour later, this has changed significantly. The spices have faded into the background and it's sweeter and VERY smokey. It makes me want to sit next to a bonfire. I'm still not sure how I feel about this one. I'll have to try it again in a few days before I decide to keep the imp or not.
