Moroccan jasmine, chrysanthemum, tea leaf, white musk, and acai berry. In the Imp A delightful floral berry blend! On My Skin The way these notes blend together is incredible. I can pick out the chrysanthemum, tea, and berry smell. It’s very light and crisp smelling. So far I really like it. After a Bit This is a great bright smelling blend. The berry is dominant but doesn’t overwhelm the other notes. This would be a great spring time blend. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 4 Throw - 3 Longevity – 4 Overall (not an average) – 3.7 Final thoughts I may have to see if I can pick up a bottle of this! Pretty good. Edited to insert scent description.

In the Imp Rose, Rose and more rose. Crap. Rose is a death note on me. It usually drowns out everything else and has a funky old lady smell on me. Gross. On My Skin All I’m getting is rose. I’m not sure why I even bothered with this blend. After a Bit An uninspiring floral rose blend that true to form smells putrid on me. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 1.5 Throw - 2.5 Longevity – 3 Overall (not an average) – 2 Final thoughts Blah, I detest rose.

In the Imp This has a very herbal smell, I’m also getting pine. So far this smells like something you’d clean your bathroom with. On My Skin This is a very green scent, herbs, pine trees but so far no leather. It still smells like a cleaner to me. I’m not digging this one so far. I’ll give it an hour to work its magic, if it doesn’t turn into something good I’ll scrub it off. After a Bit Leather and pine. This is a tad too masculine for my liking. Off to swaps! Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 1 Throw - 3.5 Longevity – 3 Overall (not an average) – 2 Final thoughts Not for me, pine scents seldom work for my chemistry.

In the Imp To my nose this smells like a man’s cologne. It’s masculine and a bit musty smelling, I’m interested to see what it does on my skin. On My Skin It really hasn’t changed that much from the scent in the imp. It may have lightened up a touch and a hint of citrus is now detectable, but it’s very similar to the original scent. After a Bit This has developed into a beautiful scent. It’s mostly amber, fig and musk but blended together in a great way. Amber can sometimes turn a little funny on my skin, but in this blend it's behaving. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 3.5 Throw - 2.5 Longevity – 3 Overall (not an average) – 3 Final thoughts It’s a nice blend but I don’t think I need a bottle. I’ll keep the imp and use it up, but I can’t imagine needing a full bottle.

In the Imp Sweet floral with a hint of tea and citrus. On My Skin I’m getting a buttery floral scent now. Strange. I can smell the lilac and the lily which are blending wonderfully. I was worried about the floral notes being overpowering, but so far they are quite nice and mellow, I think the tea is helping out with that. After a Bit After a couple of hours this scent is pretty faint I still catch whiffs of it and what I can smell is pretty great. A light floral with a background of tea (I’m also still getting a buttery smell, I have no idea why). Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 3.5 Throw - 2 Longevity – 2 Overall (not an average) – 3.3 Final thoughts I really like this scent but am sad that it doesn’t stick around for a bit longer. Maybe I’ll try it in a scent locket. That usually seems to work for this type of problem.

In the Bottle In the imp this smells pretty good. I’m getting a bit of vanilla, musk, a touch of floral and just a touch of cedar. Cedar always smells horrible with my skin chemistry, but I’m going to give this a try. On My Skin Even though I have a bit of a stuffy nose I can still smells the individual notes in this pretty well. The amber and vanilla are dominant with the carnation/sandalwood in the background. So far the cedar is staying under control and I haven’t amped it like crazy. This is a pretty good scent so I hope it stays away, I’d hate to have cedar ruin wonderful perfume oil! After a Bit Two hours later and this is still going strong. The vanilla, musk and floral blends are still present and smell divine. Fortunately the cedar has vanished leaving behind a wonderful scent. Rating 1-5 Scent - 4 Throw - 5 Longevity – 4.5 Overall (not an average) – 4.3 Final thoughts This BPAL is the most traditional ‘perfume’ smelling oil that I’ve tried. It has a touch of powder in the scent but it’s quite nice. A tiny bit goes a long way seeing as how the throw is huge and the scent lasts forever. I’m so glad I have a bottle of this.

Rose, rose and some more rose for good measure. There's something about the Lab's rose note that turns into funky old lady on me. I was hoping for a bit of cream but it just wasn't meant to be.

In the Bottle This is one of the snakes where I don’t get a strong whiff of snake oil from the imp. This is more of an incense/resin feeling to it. It’s also quite sweet with the sugar cane. I’m interested to see what this does on my skin. On My Skin There’s the snake oil! The incense/resin is still there but the sugar cane has isn’t as prominent. This is a very intense combo but so far I really like it. After a Bit Simply put this is a more dramatic, intense version of snake oil. Yum! Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 4.5 Throw - 3.5 Longevity – 4 Overall (not an average) – 4.3 Final thoughts Love this blend, I need to get a bottle ASAP.

In the Imp This smells like a creamy version of a caramel apple. On My Skin Wow, the caramel is pretty strong in this blend, it’s drowning out all of the other notes. After a Bit I must be amping caramel because that’s all I’m getting from this. Rating 1-5 Scent - 2 Throw - 3 Longevity – 3 Overall (not an average) – 2.3 Final thoughts I wish the other notes would have come out a bit more on this, all I got was caramel which isn’t exactly something I want to smell like all day. I’ll keep the imp but won’t be getting a bottle.

In the Bottle The carnation in this smells lovely. I’m also getting a hint of the musk but no plum so far. On My Skin Lovely! Everything blends together to create this really irresistable scent. Now that it’s on my skin I can detect a bit of fruit, but I wouldn’t immediately recognize it as plum. This is an elegant, sexy, enthralling scent. After a Bit A couple of hours later and now it’s a sweet musky plum scent that smells divine. Rating 1-5 Scent - 3.5 Throw - 2 Longevity – 3 Overall (not an average) – 3.3 Final thoughts I’m going to have to give this a full wear to see if it’s bottle worthy. I think by the time I use the imp up I’ll know whether or not I need more.

In the Imp In the imp it smells like a very creamy almond extract. I’m not getting a lot of honey and the milk seems like more of a sweet cream scent. On My Skin Now the honey is starting to make an appearance. This still has a heavy almond note but it doesn’t stick out, it’s mixed pretty well so all the different notes blend together. I’m not getting any hit of cherry like the other reviews mention, maybe which will come out once it’s dry. After a Bit Three hours later and this is still going strong. It is still primarily a milky almond blend and really lovely. I can see why it is continually compared to Lush’s Snowcake, however I think this is much better. It doesn’t have that yucky playdoh or plastic note that Lush’s products sometimes have. Rating 1-5 Scent - 4.5 Throw - 3 Longevity – 3.5 Overall (not an average) – 4 Final thoughts I think once I’ve used this imp up I’ll be picking up a bottle of this. It’s a wonderful blend that I can wear to work without worrying about offending delicate office noses.

In the Bottle I can smell the snake oil, but I don’t know what orris or copal so this might make things a little difficult. All I know is, this smells wonderful! On My Skin Smells like snake oil with a bit of floral coming through. I think I liked it better in the imp then I do actually on. Maybe I should put this in a scent locket too. After a Bit Three hours later and it’s faded but still a lovely scent. It still smells like a floral snake oil – very feminine, very delicate. Yum! Rating 1-5 Scent - 4 Throw - 3 Longevity – 2.5 Overall (not an average) – 3.5 Final thoughts This is pretty awesome, I really like that this is a softer version of Snake Oil. I think I may have to get a bottle.

In the Bottle Amber, lots and lots of amber. On My Skin It still smells like sweet amber, but now has a touch of a sour note in it and a bit of powder. Very interesting. I’m curious to see how it dries. After a Bit Now that it’s dry the sour scent has dissipated. Now it’s simply a powdery-amber scent. Rating 1-5 Scent - 2.5 Throw - 4 Longevity – 4 Overall (not an average) – 2.8 Final thoughts This scent isn’t very complex and while it’s nice I don’t picture myself reaching for it very often. It just is a tad too sweet for my liking. It’s got great throw and longevity, I’m sure amber fans would swoon for this one, but I’ll pass.

In the Imp Fresh and bright blackberry. Very spring-y. On My Skin So far so good. I quite like this one, it’s sweet with a touch of tart. This is a light scent that I could wear to work without offending anybody. After a Bit Faded pretty quickly. I really liked the smell of this blend though. Rating 1-5 Scent - 3.5 Throw - 3 Longevity – 1.5 Overall (not an average) – 2.8 Final thoughts I’d like to retest this one in a scent locket.

In the Bottle What an interesting blend! The juniper is quite sweet and combines with the sharp mint in a fascinating way. On My Skin I can’t pick out the lotus in this blend at all. Right now the juniper is dominant with the mint lingering in the background. I thought from my initial sniff in the imp that this would be more abrasive than it is. But actually it’s not too bad. After a Bit It’s not super strong, but I can still smell the juniper and the mint. I think I need to test this imp again to see if it stays consistent. Rating 1-5 Scent - 3 Throw - 3 Longevity – 2 Overall (not an average) – 2.8 Final thoughts This is an interesting concept, but I need to test it again to see if it’s something I’d wear.

In the Bottle Yuck! Stinging, bitter, smoky. So far, gross. I really don’t even want to put this on my skin but I’m going to try it out anyways because you never know. On My Skin Same as in the imp. I should add that the smoke in this scent isn’t a pleasant one, it smells like burning tires or some other ungodly thing. After a Bit Washed it off. Simply not for me. Rating 1-5 Scent - 1 Throw - 4 Longevity – ? Overall (not an average) – 1 Final thoughts This imp is going to need to find a better home where somebody can love it much better than I can.

In the Bottle It smells like Big Red gum, nutmeg, and all spice. Very spicy blend. I’m curious to see what it does on my skin. On My Skin The nutmeg has really come out while the cinnamon has taken a step back. So far the tea and tobacco are nowhere to be found. Hopefully they come out and play as the scent dies down. After a Bit Now that the nutmeg has calmed a bit this has become a beautiful spicy blend. I really, really like this one. Rating 1-5 Scent - 4 Throw - 3 Longevity – 3 Overall (not an average) – 3.7 Final thoughts This is beautiful and possibly bottle worthy, I think I’m going to test it one more time to be sure but it would be a perfect fall scent.

In the Imp Light, crisp, and feminine. I’m getting a lot of sweet pea out of the imp. On My Skin Smells exactly like it did in the imp, I hope once the blend dries the tonka will come out a bit more. After a Bit This is a very light scent and doesn’t have a lot of throw. The sweet pea was the dominant scent and while the tonka was detectible, it didn’t really come out as much as I would have hoped. Rating 1-5 Scent - 3.5 Throw - 2 Longevity – 2 Overall (not an average) – 3 Final thoughts This may be a good blend to wear to work, it’s pretty light, nice smelling. I don’t think I’d get a bottle of this, but I will use up my imp.

In the Imp Cedar. Oh no!! Cedar is a death note for me. I’ve never tried a blend with cedar where I didn’t end up smelling like a hamster cage. On My Skin Just as I suspected, wood chips and pencil shavings. Gross. I’m giving it 1 hour to morph before I’m washing it off. After a Bit Thirty minutes later my SO comes home and says, “It smells like a wet dog in here.” I hate to admit it but the SO has a point, it’s not a good smell. Rating 1-5 Scent - 1 Throw - 4 Longevity – ? had to wash off. Overall (not an average) – 1 Final thoughts I think this ties Lear for the worst BPAL I’ve ever tried. Off to swaps.

In the Bottle My first sniff was overwhelmed by peach. There’s also some pumpkin and spice in the background, but mainly it’s peach. On My Skin Now that I’ve got it on my skin it’s a bit hard to pin down. It seems like each time I sniff it I come away with a different impression. Peach/pumpkin, no wait....pumpkin/butter, changing again, a peach scented Yankee candle. I’m interested to see what it develops into once it’s calmed down a bit. After a Bit An hour later this has clamed way down. It’s not longer morphing like crazy and now the throw is close to my skin. Now it’s a light buttery pumpkin scent and maybe just a hint of peach. I like this phase of it, I just wish it had a touch more throw. Rating 1-5 Scent - 4 Throw - 1.5 Longevity – 2 Overall (not an average) – 3.5 Final thoughts I want to test this one again to see if the scent stays consistent or if it’s going to change on me. I think the second test will determine whether or not I keep the imp and if this will be bottle worthy in the future.

In the Bottle Primarily I’m getting lemon. I can pick out vetiver and a little hint of smoke but the lemon is pretty powerful. On My Skin Lemon, lemon, lemon. Unfortunately this is pretty one dimensional at this point. Hopefully it will evolve into something a bit more complex. After a Bit Very masculine with a touch of lemon. It kind of smells like my grandfathers cologne. Rating 1-5 Scent - 2 Throw - 2 Longevity – 2 Overall (not an average) – 2 Final thoughts This would be nice on the right person, I just don’t want to smell like it. Off to swaps!

In the Bottle Hello lavender and patchouli. This is pretty potent! On My Skin It’s softened up a bit, now I’m getting hints of tonka and amber through the lavender and patchouli. So far it isn’t OMG love, it’s pretty good though. After a Bit The lavender is pretty tart, it isn’t soothing like it is in some of my favorite blends. Fortunately the tonka helps counteract it a bit. The rosewood is bringing an earthy element to the blend. It’s nice, but not something I’d hoard. Rating 1-5 Scent - 2.5 Throw - 3 Longevity – 4 Overall (not an average) – 3.2 Final thoughts It’s a nice blend and I really like the tonka, but it’s not something I’d wear frequently or even something I’d imagine myself reaching for. I’ll keep the imp for the days I feel like switching it up, but I don’t think I’d get a bottle of this.

In the Bottle I’m not familiar with a lot of the notes in this blend, so I’m afraid my review won’t be too useful to anybody but me. In the bottle this has a light, clean smell. It’s a little bit floral and has a touch of something citrus. On My Skin Once I’ve applied it the scent becomes a little bit stronger but still has a distinct floral/citrus vibe. If I put my wrist up to my nose it almost smells like orange fruit loops. Maybe I’m loosing my mind. After a Bit Wow this really develops into a lovely scent. It really feels like an autumn afternoon. My only complaint is that 3 hours later and it’s barely there. But what’s left on my skin is divine. Rating 1-5 Scent - 4 Throw - 2 Longevity – 1.5 Overall (not an average) – 3 Final thoughts I need to retest this blend, I really love the smell of it, but it faded too quickly the first time. Maybe I’ll put it in a scent locket to see if I can get it to last a few more hours.

In the Imp Smells like apples and oranges with a bit of spice, it reminds me of a cheap candle you’d buy at a grocery store. Hopefully it will change a bit once I apply it. On My Skin Wow, this is a potent blend! I’m it smells like a cup of warm apple cider next to a fire. It’s still got a waxy/plastic element to it, but I’m really hoping it fades soon. After a Bit Now it's mellowed into something other than a Yankee candle scent. I really like the scent this has evolved into. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 3.5 Throw - 3 Longevity – 3 Overall (not an average) – 3.2 Final thoughts I really like what this blend turns into. It mellows down into a delicious cider blend. At first it’s a little fake smelling but then it turns into a very realistic smelling spiced cider. I’ll have to test again to see if it’s bottle worthy.

In the Bottle Wow, this is a powerful little imp! Right away I can smell the nicotiana tabacum, charred wood and leaves. There’s also another note that I’m having a hard time identifying that is sharp and bitter. On My Skin It’s calmed down a bit and the notes have blended together a bit more. It’s still heavy on the nicotiana tabacum. It smells like cigarettes and perfume, but not in a good way. After a Bit About an hour later and it hasn’t really changed much. I’m not enjoying this scent very much, I think it’s time to wash it off. Rating 1-5 Scent - 1 Throw - 3 Longevity – ? Overall (not an average) – 1 Final thoughts This blend reminds me of how it smells in the ladies room at a bar. Smokey with heavy perfume and cigarettes in the background. I need to find this imp a home where somebody will love it more than I do.
