In the Bottle This is a strong blend. I think my nose has just been assulted by cedarwood and sage. I almost don’t want to try it out now. On My Skin Hmm...not really liking this a whole lot. The cedar is pretty strong and the blend just isn’t coming together for me (if that makes any sense). It reminds me of how woodchips smell. I agree with the poster who said it smells like pencil shavings too. So far I’m not a fan. After a Bit An hour later and the woodchip smell is still going strong. This blend hasn’t changed since I first put it on my skin. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 1 Throw – 3 Longevity – 3 Over all – 1 Final Thoughts Not something I’d ever wear. The woodchip scent never changed or faded. It reminded me of a pet shop. Yuck! I didn’t care for this blend at all! This imp is going to need to find a loving home where someone will appreciate it much more than I do.

I have to chime in with everybody else and also mention Love's Philosophy. I think it's the best vanilla scent BPAL has. Give it a try.

In the Bottle This smells like syrup and as others have noted, reminds me a lot of Sugar Skull. I wasn’t a huge Sugar Skull fan so I’m nervous about this blend. Hopefully some of the fruit and wood notes will work to counted the sugary sweetness radiating from the imp. On My Skin Immediately after application I still am getting a strong syrup scent and something that smells like blueberries (blue musk, maybe?). Not a lot else is coming through at this point. I’m not really enjoying the scent right now, thankfully it doesn’t have overpowering throw. After a Bit I’m getting a Bloody Mary or Irrelevant Crawdad vibe from this. Now that the syrup scent is gone it’s actually pretty wonderful smelling! I'm a little disappointed that the leaf and wood notes didn't come through at all. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 3.8 Throw – 3 Longevity – 3.5 Over all – 3.5 Final Thoughts I don’t know that I’d need a bottle since I have a bottle of BM and Irrelevant Crawdad, but I will use the imp. I'm glad I didn't wash it off in it's ultra sugar smelling stage.

In the Bottle It smells a little bit like wet weeds (probably the dandelion). On My Skin This is a light scent, still smells like wet weeds and a little bit of sweat. It’s not very strong, the scent is just hanging out in the background. This doesn’t remind me so much of a Roadhouse as much as it does a garden that’s just been watered. After a Bit I’m getting whiffs of something spicy. Now it smells like dandelions, stale beer, with a tiny bit of pepper. This is really a unique blend. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 3 Throw – 2 Longevity – 3 Over all – 2.8 Final Thoughts This is really interesting and I’ll admit, something I simply tried because it sounded beyond gross. It’s not gross, it’s almost a spring type scent, but something I don’t think I’d wear on a regular basis. I’ll keep the imp but pass on a bottle.

My sex drive has been decreasing too (stupid birth control). So I'm watching this thread with lots of interest. One blend that worked for me is Love's Philosophy. It turned me into a sex kitten. For whatever reason the blend made me feel incredibly sexy and made me pounce on my partner literally 30 seconds after they walked in the door. Now each time I smell/wear Love's Philosophy it brings that feeling back.

In the Bottle There are a whole lot of smells comming out of this tiny imp. I’m having a hard time picking them all out but I can deffinetly smell the cedar, peppermint and frankincense. On My Skin I expected this to be a bit stronger with all of the intense notes that are listed, but it’s not that strong at all. It’s a mellow blend that doesn’t really have any one note dominating the scent. After a Bit It smells a bit musky. All the notes in this have seemed to combine into a giant mess of scents resulting in a oddly fascinating blend. I can’t tell if I like it or can’t wait to scrub it off. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 2.5 Throw – 3 Longevity – 3.5 Over all – 2.5 Final Thoughts I’m going to have to test this one again, I just can’t seem to make up my mind if I love it or if it’s nasty. Weird how that works sometimes. As an afterthought, maybe I'm having such a hard time with this because it's my time. I really should test this again in a week or two.

In the Bottle I’m getting the smell of almonds mixed with rubbing alcohol. I deffinetely wasn’t expecting that. On My Skin The jasmine is coming out to combat the rubbing alcohol and thankfully it seems to be winning. The musk and red sandalwood are grounding the almond and jasmine nicely. The jasmine is the dominant smell right now, I’m hoping the almond will come back out to play. After a Bit This reminds me of a perfume my grandmother used to wear. That doesn’t make this an old lady smell, but it just isn’t going to work for me. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 3 Throw – 4 Longevity – washed off Over all – 3 Final Thoughts It’s nice, but I've just got too many memories associated with this scent to ever wear it.

In the Bottle I can smell the snake oil – this has a tart floral scent to it. It instantly grabbed my attention! On My Skin Very fresh and clean smelling. It’s lighter than Snake Oil and the lily is really starting to come through now. The tart smell has been replaced by a nice, light, floral scent. After a Bit I love this! Florals notes are mixing well with the snake oil, it a great blend. Hasn't changed a whole lot from the wet phase. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 4 Throw – 4 Longevity – 5 Over all – 4.5 Final Thoughts I applied this almost 12 hours ago and I can still smell it. I love the scent, it’s sexy, in a light and playful way. It’s also got amazing throw. I feel very confident wearing this blend. I’ve got to get a bottle.

In the Bottle Smells incredible! It’s a sweet scent that’s very well blended, it’s difficult for me to pick out any particular notes. On My Skin YUM! I really enjoy the way this smells, hopefully it will stay just like this. A light floral with a touch of something sweet. After a Bit About an hour in it went through a really intense floral stage but then mellowed into a delicate beautiful scent. This is good stuff. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 3.5 Throw – 3 Longevity – 4 Over all – 3.5 Final Thoughts I love that this smells 'delicate' to me. I’d like to pick up a bottle of this in the future, but since it’s GC and all my money will probably be tied up in the CD for the next little bit it will just have to wait.

In the Bottle This is divine – a creamy coconut smell that is slightly foody. I can smell the Iris in it too which makes it very feminine. On My Skin It hasn’t changed much from the imp. I’m not getting any hazelnut and only a hint of musk. So far so good! After a Bit The coconut has faded a bit leaving the iris in charge, now I can detect a bit of the hazelnut which rounds Black Pearl out nicely. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 4 Throw – 3.5 Longevity – 3.5 Over all – 3.8 Final Thoughts I really like this blend, it is a very refreshing scent that reminds me of sitting on a beach. I’d love to pick up a full bottle of this in the future.

In the Bottle The cinnamon, clove and pine sap are pretty strong. I’m not getting any vanilla out of this. On My Skin The cinnamon is the dominant note here, almost drowning everything else out. The vanilla hasn’t given up quite yet though, it’s not strong but it’s there in the background. After a Bit Around an hour later and it’s almost straight cinnamon on my skin. The vanilla, clove and pine sap have officially been beat into submission. This scent reminds me of the cinnamon pine cones that my local grocery store sells before Christmas. While I enjoy the spicy smell, this isn’t a very complex blend on me. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 2 Throw – 3 Longevity – 3.5 Over all (not an average) – 2.5 Final Thoughts This is something I might reach for during the holiday season, but there are so many other BPAL blends with the same cinnamon kick that I prefer, so I think I’m going to have to pass on Pickled Imp. ETA – 2 hours later I’m finally getting some vanilla in this blend. Now it’s a beautiful mix. Too bad it takes so long to get to this stage. I'm thinking I just may need a bottle of this stuff.

In the Bottle Good stuff – all of the notes blend together so well that no one scent is overpowering the others. I’m not sure why hyssop is so that may make this review a bit difficult. On My Skin This is beautiful, no one note is standing out (which is good because I was worried about the vanilla and tonka taking everything else over). This is blending pretty well with my skin chemistry, it doesn’t smell like I put on perfume, it just smells good. If I try I can pick out the musk, the vanilla, the tea, lilac and a hint of coconut but tobacco is nowhere to be found. After a Bit About an hour later and the scent is very faint. I didn’t put a whole lot on, so I’m not sure if it’s due to that or just that Ashlultum fades pretty quickly. What is left on my skin is still wonderful. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 4.5 Throw – 2.5 Longevity – 1.5 Over all (not an average) – 4 Final Thoughts I’ll have to give this a full test drive to see if I can get it to stick around for a little bit longer. While it lasts it is wonderful! If I could keep it just the way it smells during the wet stage on my skin I’d be in love. I’ll test again soon to see if I need to pick up a bottle of this before CD leaves.

In the Bottle What a fresh scent, the blood orange and the amber smell great together. I hope this smells as good on me as it does in the imp. On My Skin Wonderful! The Amber is dominant with the blood orange now in the background giving it a hint of citrus. The lilac in this is just what I like my lilac to smell like, it’s not in your face, but very mellow and smells just like the real deal. Agar wood keeps this from being too sweet or smelling like the fake smell of commercial dryer sheets. So far this is a beautiful blend! After a Bit I can’t stop sniffing my wrist. It hasn’t changed a whole lot from the wet stage; it just has a beautiful golden, sweet smell with a hint of wood and smoke. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 4.5 Throw – 3 Longevity – 3 Over all – 4 Final Thoughts I think I need to pick up a bottle of this soon! The Maltese Cross is a great blend for spring or summer; it’s just so light and refreshing. I’m glad I tried this one out!

In the Bottle Mmmmm....this smells yummy! This is my first BPAL oil with plum in it, now I’m wondering why I waited so long, in the imp this is great! On My Skin Dionysia is fruity without being too sweet. It smells great but when I take a big whiff I get almost a medicinal smell in the background, almost like berry flavored cough drops. After a Bit It hasn’t really changed much since I first applied it. The fruit smells are still going strong and sadly, the medicinal smell has stuck around too. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 1.5 Throw – 3 Longevity – 3 Over all – 2 Final Thoughts I really wanted to love Dionysia, but it’s just not mean to be. Maybe I’ll try the imp out again in a few months to see if aging will help it at all.

In the Bottle What a spicy little thing! When I opened it up black pepper and clove immediately commanded my attention. On My Skin The pepper and clove are a bit overwhelming but the tea, carnation and patchouli are doing their best to tame them. This has a sharp, spicy smell with a bit of cinnamon which I can’t say that I really like so far. It smells vaguely of LUSH’s Wiccy massage bar. After a Bit This blend to my nose is nothing but pepper and clove. It’s plain spice without anything to temper it. I think it would be a beautiful smell if the carnation came out a bit more, but as it is, it’s just giving me a headache. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 1 Throw – 5 Longevity – ended up blending it. Overall (not an average of above scores) – 1 Final Thoughts I’m not a fan of Clemence on it’s own. I decided to layer a tiny bit of Love’s Philosophy with it to see what would happen and I loved it!!! I just might have to use this imp to layer with some my sweeter smells.

In the Bottle This smells like straight rose in the bottle. Now I’m worried, some roses turn into the dreaded old lady smell on me. On My Skin Still getting quite a bit of the rose, the other scents just aren’t coming out. I was excited to see how the tonka, coconut and calla lily would blend with Gwyneth, but they just aren’t there. After a Bit Rose has mellowed a bit, but I’m still not getting any of the other notes. It’s a very sweet, almost powdery which actually doesn’t smell too bad on me. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 2.5 Throw – 3 Longevity - 4 Overall (not an average of above scores) – 2.5 Final Thoughts I really wish the other notes would have come out and play. Why, oh why, must my skin amp rose?!? I liked the way the Gwyneth smells, but it’s pretty boring without something to help balance out the floral. I’ll age the imp to see if aging it will help any, but so far this is not bottle worthy.

In the Bottle First sniff smells great, I’m a huge honeysuckle fan so this looks promising. It has a few notes that I’ve never smelled (orris & benzoin). On My Skin Beautiful! The honeysuckle is tempered by the moss and musk smell so it’s not too floral. I’m not sure if it’s the notes I’ve never smelled before but something in this mix is amazing. After a Bit This isn’t a strong scent, it’s very understated – something I could wear to work without offending too many noses. Now that it’s been on my skin for a while the moss and jasmine are more prominent and gives Parthenope a lovely, feminine smell. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 4 Throw – 2 Longevity - 3 Overall – 4 Final Thoughts Great scent! I really like this one, it’s not in my top 10 but it’s probably close. If I have some extra money when the next update comes I’ll pick up a bottle.

In the Bottle The absinthe is pretty strong, this is my first time trying a BPAL absinthe blend so I’m a little nervous! On My Skin The rose and lilac have decided to come out and play but there’s this really sharp bitter note in the background. As odd as that combo sounds, it kinda works. After a Bit Very interesting smell. It’s a sinister floral blend that never lost the sharp bitter note. It’s become soft, smokey and a bit sour. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 3 Throw – 3 Longevity - 3 Overall - 3 Final Thoughts L’Heure Verte is a very unique blend but probably not one that I would ever wear. I may keep the imp to see how it ages, but I won’t be getting a bottle.

I'm a knitter so I have tons of metal knitting needles hanging around. I dip the tip of the needle into the bottle and then apply the oil. After application I'll clean it off so the next time I use it I won't contaminate any of my other bottles. So far it's been working pretty well for me.

In the Bottle This has a strong scent. I can deffinately smell the musk and the vetiver. On My Skin When first applied it smells the same as it did in the imp. A strong, musk, sweet, smokey scent. I can smell the lavendar and the plum but I’m not getting any coconut. Oh I like this one! It’s blended together wonderfully and smells great! After a Bit It doesn’t smell as good as it did at first, but it’s still quite nice. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 3.5 Throw - 4 Longevity – 4 Overall - 3.8'ish Final Thoughts I think I’d like to try this one in a scent locket to see if I can keep the scent in the wonderful first stage before my skin chemistry changes it slightly. I like this one quite a bit and if I was rich I’d buy a bottle. But since I’m a poor student and this isn’t in my top ten I’ll pass.

Luminescent, glowing, and otherworldly: green mandarin, neroli, honeydew, white amber, guava, freesia, white and green musks hovering over desert scrub, smashed wood, and the dry, biting scent of night air over the Groom Lake salt flats. In the Bottle A very green scent with citrus mingled in. So far, so good. On My Skin It’s a ‘fresh’ scent, reminds me of laundry sheets right out of the dryer. There’s a lot going on in this scent but for right now the mandrin is the dominant smell. It’s really lovely, I like it a lot. After a Bit Faded after a couple of hours. If this scent would last then it would be a keeper. Too bad for me. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent – 3.5 Throw – 1.5 Longevity – 1 Over all – 2.5 Final Thoughts I really like 51 when it’s first applied to my skin and for a couple of hours afterwards. That phase is pretty short lived though. I just wish my skin wouldn’t eat this up! I'll keep the imp to see if aging it changes anything, but I'm not going to spring for a bottle.

In the Bottle Lily of the valley is the dominant scent with a slightly bitter smell lurking in the background. On My Skin The lily smells beautiful and is balanced nicely with the juniper and cyprus. The mryyh seems to round it all out making these disparate scents blend seamlessly. It is very light on my skin. I have to hold my wrist up to my nose to get a sniff. After a Bit My skin ate this oil up. 30 minutes later with my wrist next to my nose I can hardely smell a thing. The tiny bit I can smell is awesome though. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Overall - 2.5 Throw - 1 Longevity - 1 Final Thoughts I loved the way this smelled when I first applied it, too bad it didn't last for very long. I'll have to re-test or maybe try it in a scent locket because the smell was pretty fantastic.

The perfect scent to wear to your next bondage ball, dungeon adventure or sojourn to your favorite pleasure dome. Smoky rum and black tobacco with a whisper of steamy leather with a splash of crystalline chardonnay, layered over a sensual, sweet, and deceptively magnetic base of tonka. In the Bottle I read the description and this doesn't really sound like something I'd like but I'll give it a try. In the bottle this is a mellow well blended scent. I can pick out the rum, tobacco with a touch of sweetness. Smells great & I can't wait to try it out! On My Skin When I put it on it turns into this incredibly sweet, delicious smell. The tonka and chardonnay are coming out and mixing wonderfully with the tobacco and leather. It's got a smokey-vanilla vibe with the leather in the background giving it depth. So far this is wonderful! After a Bit WooHoo! This scent didn't change too much from when I first applied it. The vanilla faded a tad, but still smells incredible. I really like it. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Overall - 4.5 Throw - 3 Longevity - It was still going strong 3 hours later when I jumped in the shower. Final Thoughts I really enjoy this scent, it might have just broken into my top 10! I think I'm going to do a full wear to make sure this wasn't just a fluke, but assuming it stays the same I'm definitely getting a bottle of this. I'm glad I took a chance on it!

In the Bottle I can pick out the leather note, I also smell a lot of spice. It has a strong smell of a man's cologne, this is pretty potent stuff. On My Skin The spice smell immediately dies down and is replaced with a musky scent. To my nose this is very masculine and reminds me vaguely of the smell of leather couches in a den. I have no idea why but this also kinda reminds me of my dentist’s office. I seriously have no idea why. After a Bit A couple hours later the dentist office smell has thankfully gone away. Now it smells like a sweaty leather jacket, very interesting - leather with a hint of musk. I can see how this would make a gal feel powerful and in control like a Dominatrix. Too bad it takes so long to get to this stage. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Overall - 2.5 Throw - 3 Longevity - 2.5 There are only a handful of times I'd want to smell like this so I'll keep the imp but won't get a bottle.

In the Bottle Smells like lavendar and sandelwood, the sandelwood being the dominant scent. It's a very strong and almost bitter-sweet. On My Skin The intensity of the scent dies down a little bit and the lavendar comes out a bit more to balance the woodsy smell. I can faintly smell the tobacco, but not the other notes listed in the lab description. After a Bit The notes have blended together into a really smooth fragrance. It's got nice throw, but not overwhelming. I like what this turned into. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) 3.5 - I'll keep the imp, I'm not sure I'll get a bottle though. I like the scent and it's a good change from my mostly vanilla/foody BPAL's. If I had unlimited funds I'd pick a bottle up, but as is I'll just enjoy the imp for as long as it lasts.
