In the Imp The lab’s snow note (which I love) mixed with floral elements. There’s also a noticable green scent, almost like the stems on flowers. So far it smells great. On My Skin Georgeous! The only difference I’m getting now that it’s on my skin is I can smell the mint note that other users posted about. This is a very crisp, bright scent. After a Bit Two hours later and this is barely lingering on my skin. The mint is completely gone now and I’m left with snow and florals with a hint of green. This is really nice, to bad I can’t smell it unless I stick my nose to my wrist. Rating 1-5 (5 being best) Scent - 4 Throw - 1.5 Longevity - 1.5 Overall (not an average) - 3 Final Thoughts I’m going to try this in a scent locket and next time I’m going to slater it on. I really like the scent, it just doesn’t hang around long enough for me to justify getting a bottle.

In the Imp The floral elements are dominant but mix with the musk and sandalwood to create a very elegant scent. I’m not getting any vetiver at this stage. On My Skin Now that I’m wearing the blend the amber is coming out, unfortunately amber tends to turn to powder on my skin but right now it is behaving. At this stage the amber is just adding another layer of complexity to the white floral mix. After a Bit This is a beautiful scent. It sticks close to my skin, but the musk and florals are playing together nicely. This is much lighter than I would have anticipated, I haven’t gotten any vetiver from this at all. Rating 1-5 (5 being best) Scent - 3.5 Throw - 2 Longevity - 3 Overall (not an average) - 3 Final Thoughts I like the way this blend smells, but it doesn’t have much throw. For now I think I’ll keep my imp and try it out a few more times. Once I’ve done that I’ll know if I’m going to need a bottle or not.

In the Imp There’s definitely dragon’s blood in this blend. This almost smells a bit like a cinnamon flavored mouthwash. It’s got a hint of alcohol in it. On My Skin This blend does a nice job of balancing the spicy elements with the dragon’s blood. The cinnamon isn’t too spicy, it’s smoldering close to the skin with the clove. So far this is quite pretty without being too of an ‘in your face’ scent. After a Bit The cinnamon and clove are now just barely notacible. This smells a lot like dragon’s eye to my nose. Rating 1-5 (5 being best) Scent - 3.5 Throw - 3 Longevity - 3 Overall (not an average) - 3.3 Final Thoughts This is a pretty nice scent, I really like it, I just wish the spicy elements of it would stick around for a bit longer. This is something I think my SO would really like so I’ll have to test it again when I’m not home alone.

I think I'm going to wear Moon of the Terrible.

For Christmas I wore I Fell in Love with a Floating Brain. This has broke into my top ten list - spicy, strawberry cake.

In the Imp Just like the description says - chocolate coins with a touch of amber. Amber tends to turn into powder on my skin so I'm interested to see how this turns out. On My Skin Bitter chocolate with a touch of powdery amber. After a Bit This has mellowed into a smooth, light chocolate scent. I'm not getting much amber, it's just enough to keep this from being boring. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 3 Throw - 3 Longevity - 3 Overall (not an average) - 3 Final thoughts This is a pretty cool scent but not one that I imagine wanting to smell like. I'll keep the imp but pass on a bottle.

In the Imp (2008 version) The amber in this blend is very light and delicately mixed with some resin. It's got a masculine touch to it, but still smells appropriate for a woman. On My Skin The resins are beginning to take the lead in this blend warming up beautifully. It's still got that masculine hint to it, but the amber is making it more of a feminine blend. After a Bit This went a bit powdery on me which is really too bad because beneath the powder is a rich complex amber blend that smells wonderful. Sigh. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 2 Throw - 2.5 Longevity - 3 Overall (not an average) - 2.3 Final Thoughts I really which this hadn't gone powdery on me. It smelled so good before turning! I think I'll keep the imp but this won't be a bottle purchase for me.

In the Imp I can smell the peach, vanilla and honey. There's also something a bit tart in the background. On My Skin The gardenia has come out to play! This has a green undertone to it, like freshly cut stems. There's still a bitter or tart note that's lurking in the background, I'm not sure what it is - maybe my wonky skin chemistry. After a Bit The tart note has disappeared and now I'm smelling mainly peach, honey and vanilla. This blend is very feminine and light. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 3.8 Throw - 2.8 Longevity - 3 Overall (not an average) - 3.2 Final Thoughts This is a scent that could go either way for me. I like it, but is it bottle worthy?

In the imp Lots of pine combined with something sweet. I'm a bit worried because pine usually doesn't work well with me. On My Skin I'm not sure what a lot of the notes listed in this blend are but I can pick out pine, a bit of musk and some florals. So far this is pretty cool, but not something I'd wear. It has a distinct astringent smell to it. After a Bit The astringent scent has died down and this is now primarily must on a background of soft florals. It is very light, there isn't a lot of throw to this blend but when I put my wrist up to my nose I like the smell quite a bit. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 3.5 Throw - 2 Longevity - 2 Overall (not an average) - 3 Final Thoughts IF this blend was a bit stronger and stuck around for a bit longer then I'd probably end up getting a bottle. I'll retest to see if today was just an off day for me, but as of right now I think I'll keep the imp and pass on getting a bottle.

In the Imp This smells like dying grass. You know that time in the fall when the grass in your yard is starting to die, well this smells exactly like it. On My Skin The leaves are coming out a bit in this making it a bit more manageable. I can’t decide if this is a bright grass scent or the smell of a dying lawn. Strange. After a Bit The leaves become more prominent the longer this stays on my skin. It has turned into a very fresh smell, it reminds me of spring. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 2.5 Throw - 3 Longevity – 3.5 Overall (not an average) – 2.8 Final thoughts Interesting scent, but I think I’ll have to pass. This does have a decent throw and good wear length.

In the Imp - 2008 version This kind of smells like a swampy cave. It definitely has moss and dirt. The dirt in this blend is a moist rich type of soil scent rather than a dry dusty dirt. Hopefully that makes sense. On My Skin Swampy cave still but now the dirt is reminding me of those huge bags of soil you can pick up from a plant nursery. Actually it smells just like that. After a Bit This faded pretty quickly on my skin, but I can still catch hints of dirt every now and again. From what I can tell it didn’t really change much from the wet stage. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 1.5 Throw - 2 Longevity – 1.5 Overall (not an average) – 1.8 Final thoughts Interesting concept, but not something I would ever want to smell like. Pass.

The essence of ambition, covetousness and manipulation: sweet Bordeaux wine, blood red currant, thyme and wild berries. In the Imp Berry flavored cough syrup. This is a pretty sweet scent but there’s definitely something sinister about it. On My Skin Once this hits my skin it turns into a lovely sweet wine scent. None of the notes are really standing out at this point, it’s very well blended. For some reason I keep catching sniffs and thinking it smells fruity. After a Bit I keep changing my mind about this one. I’ll sniff it and think it’s wonderful and then in the next breath I’ll get the hint of cough syrup. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 2 Throw - 2.5 Longevity – 3 Overall (not an average) – 2.5 Final thoughts I think I’ll have to re-test this blend. If I get the cough syrup scent next time then I’m going to have to find a better home for this imp.

In the Imp Smoky beef jerky. The forum member who compared it to Jack Links was dead on. Yuck. On My Skin Vetiver and smoked meat, I’m not even getting a hint of the violets. After a Bit Three hours later and this has finally morphed into something I like. This is spicy, earthy violets. I’m a bit disappointed that it took this long to get to this stage, but now that it’s here I really like it. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 2.5 Throw - 3 Longevity – 3.5 Overall (not an average) – 2.7 Final thoughts I like what this blend eventually evolves into but at first it’s just a putrid smell. I don’t think that I’d ever wear this because it just takes to long to get to the good part. Oh well, off to swaps where someone can give it more love than I can.

In the Imp Yuck! This is a bitter smell that I don’t even want to put on my skin. It’s dirt, rotting plants and urine. On My Skin I’m not sure when ‘floral’ turned into cat pee, but this isn’t getting any better. I’m giving it one hour before I wash it off. After a Bit The cat pee smell went away finally. Now I’m left with the scent of dirt and roses which isn’t much better with skin chemistry like mine. Too bad. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 1 Throw - 3.5 Longevity – ? washed off Overall (not an average) – 1.3 Final thoughts Roses ruin everything! Not for me, this imp goes off to swaps.

In the Imp This is a crisp grapefruit and clean floral scent. It’s very fresh and bright. On My Skin Wow! This is really beautiful, the citrus and the floral scents balance each other in a way where each of them is noticeable without being overwhelming. This is a very clean scent. After a Bit This has gone a bit soapy on my skin. I really liked how this started out but now it smells like generic soap or deodorant. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 3 Throw - 2.5 Longevity – 2.5 Overall (not an average) – 2.8 Final thoughts I’d like to retest this one because I really liked it in the initial stages, maybe I’ll put it in a scent locket and see what I can do with it.

In the Imp Apple, lime and mint. The smell reminds me of a scented green marker I had when I was a child. On My Skin The apple and the mint are really standing out. This is a very light refreshing scent which at this point is staying close to my skin. After a Bit This is a bright scent that mainly focuses on the mint and apple. It isn’t a combination that sounds like it would be good for a perfume, but this turns out wonderfully. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 3.3 Throw - 2.5 Longevity – 3 Overall (not an average) – 3 Final thoughts I’ll use my imp of this but I need to give it a full wear before I decide whether or not it’s bottle worthy.

In the Imp This smells like a hodge podge of commercial perfume blends. One of the previous reviews hit it on the head when she wrote that it smells like a magazine with all the different inserts of perfume samples. On My Skin It still smells like commercial perfume (in a good way) but now I’m able to detect some spice mixed in with greenery and a hint of wood. So far I really like this blend. After a Bit This has turned into a light floral blend with hints of green. It’s a nice, clean scent. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 3.8 Throw - 3 Longevity – 3 Overall (not an average) – 3.5 Final thoughts I like this blend quite a bit. It has average throw and wear length. I think I’ll keep my imp around, give it a full wear and then decide if I need to pick up a bottle. So far it’s a winner.

In the Imp The sandalwood and patchouli are the dominant notes in this blend right now. I can’t pick out any rose at all. Rose usually smells terrible on me so I’m curious to see what happens with this oil. On My Skin Now I can smell the rose. This is a very light blend that I don’t really smell unless my nose is right next to my skin. After a Bit The rose scent isn’t uber strong in this blend and I’m grateful for that. It’s got a bit of a spicy rose scent to it now that I don’t like too much. Roses just don’t work for me. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 2.5 Throw - 1.5 Longevity – 2 Overall (not an average) – 2 Final thoughts Rose is one of my notes of doom. This blend is no exception. Light throw and little staying power. This is off to swaps.

In the Imp Why hello there, vetiver! In the imp the vetiver is quite strong. I often have a problem with that particular note overwhelming a blend for me and not really smelling great. I think my only exception has been Death Adder, but generally it’s something that my skin chemistry doesn’t agree with. On My Skin This is quite a heavy, thick blend. The vetiver has toned down a bit but is still present. I can’t quite identify what exactly it is but I’m getting a bit of spice from this blend. So far it’s not one of my favorites. Hopefully it will change once it’s dried. After a Bit Surprisingly the vetiver is behaving and hasn’t turned into complete nastiness on my skin. This has evolved into a very masculine blend that is rich and spicy. I’m not getting the cellar or basement smell that others have commented on. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 2 Throw - 5 Longevity – 4 Overall (not an average) – 2.5 Final thoughts This might smell nice on the right man, but it’s not something I think I’d ever want to smell like. It’s got huge throw and excellent wear length, but I’m going to have to pass on a bottle. In fact I don’t even think I’ll keep the imp around.

In the Imp As soon as I opened this imp I was immediately hit with overwhelming scent. Usually I’ll hold the imp up to my nose to try to pick out the notes involved but this one was so potent that I didn’t need to. I think I can smell cedar in this. I really hope I’m wrong because cedar typically smells horribly on me. On My Skin This smells like it has herbal elements in it, I’m not quite sure which ones though. Also I’m fairly convinced that this contains the dreaded cedar and true to form, it doesn’t smell good at all. After a Bit This is very light two hours later. My nose is focusing in on the cedar making it hard to write a review that isn’t OMFG I HATE CEDAR!!! Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 1.5 Throw - 2 Longevity – 2 Overall (not an average) – 1.8 Final thoughts Gross. Maybe I’m a werewolf because this blend would scare me away any day of the week. Off to swaps it goes!

In the Imp The pear immediately jumps out at me. This is a very dry scent so far, it must be due to the herbal notes in the oil. Wet it’s a bit too sweet for my tastes so I hope it changes a bit once it dries. On My Skin This reminds me of the pear lotion that Victoria’s Secret carries. It’s a bright, sweet scent but fortunately something about my skin chemistry has dampened the sweet element. After a Bit Three hours later and this blend is close to my skin and seems to be fading a bit. It’s still a dry, light blend and now none of the notes is taking center stage. It’s herbal with a touch of sweet pear which is blending together beautifully. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 3.5 Throw - 2 Longevity – 2.5 Overall (not an average) – 3.3 Final thoughts I think I’ll give this one a full wear to see if it’s bottle worthy. I like that it’s light enough that I can wear it to work without worrying and it doesn’t have any smells that others typically find offensive. So far I like it, but I’ll use my imp up before I purchase a bottle just to make sure.

In the Imp Honey and herbs. This is very sweet and dry smelling. On My Skin Myrrh, herbs and a sweet honey scent are the primary players in this blend. The embalming herbs are doing a great job balancing the sweeter notes in the blend but it’s still pretty sweet smelling, yet it isn’t cloying. After a Bit It hasn’t changed much from the initial application, it’s a dry herbal blend that has a touch of sweetness. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 4 Throw - 3 Longevity – 3.5 Overall (not an average) – 3.5 Final thoughts I like this blend quite a bit. I think I need to pick up a bottle but before I do I’m going to wear it a couple of times just to make sure (self restraint).

In the Imp Snake oil and vetiver. This is a rich smoky blend in the imp. My skin sometimes has issues with vetiver so I hope this blend works out for me. On My Skin Wowza! This is incredible! It’s a deeper, more complex version of snake oil. The smoky element is still there combining with the vanilla and snake oil to create a really stunning blend. I hope this doesn’t turn screwy on me because so far this is one of my favorite snakes. After a Bit Three hours later and this blend is still going strong. The coconut has died out but the snake oil and vetiver is still going strong. The vetiver in this blend isn’t as harsh on me as it is in other blends. I’m getting a rich smoky blend rather than a nausea inducing nightmare. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 3.5 Throw - 4 Longevity – 4 Overall (not an average) – 3.8 Final thoughts I don’t think this is something that I would wear into the office, but this is definitely a blend that I would dab on for a sexy night out. A little bit goes a long way as this blend has great throw and lasts a long time. I think I may have to get a bottle of this before the Carnival leaves town.

In the Imp This has a lot of red musk and patchouli, the other notes are simply drowned out. On My Skin Not a whole lot of morphing right now, the smell on my skin is very similar to what the oil smelled like in the imp. After a Bit Still heavy on the red musk note. I wish there was a bit of depth to this blend, but all I’m getting is SN red musk. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 2 Throw - 4 Longevity – 3.5 Overall (not an average) – 2.5 Final thoughts This isn’t a blend I’d reach for very often, it would be wonderful on somebody else, but I just amp the red musk.
-
In the Imp In the imp I’m not getting a lot of snake oil. Right now the apple is the dominant note with a hint of a floral background. On My Skin Immediately after application the scent hasn’t changed much. The main elements are still the apple and floral notes, but now they are more evenly matched up. Still no snake oil or citrus to be found. After a Bit A couple of hours later and I still am not able to detect the snake oil in this blend. The apple has mellowed considerably and now this is mainly a floral blend with the gardenia leading the way. It’s quite nice. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) Scent - 3.5 Throw - 3 Longevity – 3 Overall (not an average) – 3.2 Final thoughts This is a really lovely smelling blend despite the apparent lack of snake oil I was hoping for. I think I’ll have to pick a bottle up.
