When its wet, I get the green deserty smell pretty strong, but that settles down very quickly. What I end up with is a spicy very soft rose over wood. Its a little like Seance I think, except with the spicy touch. long dry: soft, spicy, southwestern rosy wood. I like this WAY better than I had anticipated. I try everything out of curiosity and for the notes. The copal is what I think I'm loving here, maybe the way it combines with the tobacco. The spicy touch over the wood, and just a hint of rose. I saw a bottle of thsi up for sale on the forum, and am really considering snatching it up!

wet on my wrist right now: very warm, very rich, sweet, but I don't smell anything individually. This is Indian summer right now. Wet I really really like this. Waiting to see what it does after it dries to see if its a true love keeper =) a little later, as my wrist distracts me: This reminds me a bit of Lilith Victoria right now. I'm going to go check the notes now. I'm thinking the lavender and vanilla and musk and amber together are lovely =) Hmm not sure whats similar, the lavender obviously, and then maybe the musky vanilla from Dorian? a little more time: I didn't get the crystalline feel from the last review until now. The rich has faded off a bit (which makes me sad honestly, I loved it) and I can see it now. Maybe its one of the musks? I still smell the grey amber under - which I love love love, so I'm still happy. I think I smell lavender and carnation together, kindof a spicy lavender, but not heavy on the lav... Whats really cool is the impression that the sunset is fading. I had the rich warm scent and was thinking, wheres the moon in this scent? It was all late sun to me. Now I get the moon. and a little more time: its gone much softer now. I definitely see the moon, that crystalline feel. The heavy warm sweet is gone now almost completely. I still smell the carnation faintly, and I have ghost roses too. Every so often I think I smell the leaves, but when I sniff to look for them, I can't find them. current verdict: I loevd the wet stage more =( Undecided on the dry down yet. It was a very cool perfume experience, but I want to adore it.

I'm not the best at reviews, but as theres not much up on this one yet, I figured I was bound by duty! What I'm sniffing right now is dry, but still recently applied. What I wrote as my notes earlier was: dusky, mossy lily. I also smell the ambergris note, but mainly because I've sniffed it a lot here recently (huge fan!). This is floral but not bright and happy floral. Its almost like night time air. There's a freshness, greenness, darkness to it. The lily isnt the strongest thing I smell now, but I can't say that I can pick out *a* note anymore. Its very nicely blended together, and it feels a little like cool autumn nights to me =) after some mroe drying time - the florals are all but gone - but I have the beautiful ambergris and mossy dark still =) I think I quite like this, and it will be the only moon besides Lune Noire that I've decided I want to keep =)

I see someone else compared it to Snow Bunny as well -- did you get a pine scent on your skin?

Its been awhile since I tried it, but I remember Dublin being a pale green feeling? Ides of March maybe? but for the sweetness you mention.... Did you try/like Leanan Sidhe or the Unicorn? Those seem to be the first rec people give.

I was a little worried about the dark musk, and very worried about the anise. When I first opened it and even wet, I smelled a lot of anise and heavy musky-ness - immediate thought was - nope, not a keeper. But its settling on my skin now, and I keep catching whiffs of it -- very intriguing. This is the reason I risked it =) Its very dark, sweet, and woody on my skin. I dont smell vanilla, but it does have a sweet touch to the darkness. I don't really get anise now, but I'm sure its the edge I smell. Against all odds, I think I'm keeping this as a sexy, night-out scent =) Curious what hubby will think of this one -- ooo I wonder if I can get him to try it?

I finally got a chance to try this =) This is one that I like better away from my wrist, than up close trying to smell it. I get the honey musk thing floating around, but up close I smell an herbal type scent. I keep going through stages of OOO I need a bottle of this, and eh its pretty, I'll keep the imp. I was hoping for creamy vanilla beeswax honey, but I'm thinking this is kin to Hetairae (which isnt a bad thing, I like that one, but it wasnt what I was hoping for from this) I do like the skin musks and this is a very pretty one, just not the OMGLOVE that I was hoping for. (I will confess that I'm testing Yvaine on the other wrist, and what I smell wafting up to me is a DIVINE mix of the two oils)

This is one of those that I seriously can barely smell on my skin. I applied it twice now, and if I stick my nose directly to my wrist and hyperventilate, I can tell theres something there, but its not nearly strong enough to pick out notes. The grindhouse ladies all did this on my skin too -- and everyone else has such beautiful reviews. I LOVE Lavender, so I'm really very sad that this doesn't show up on me =(

On me, no. But I should perhaps qualify that I have horrible skin chemistry. On my skin, Tombstone was a big ol' vanilla candle with a splash of root beer. Bonfire Night was smoky and leathery (reminiscent of De Sade) with a buttery, foody quality that reminded me of popcorn... or maybe caramel corn (which is how Cockaigne smelled on me). It seems that Hand of Glory might fit the smoky, leathery, slightly foody (thats how it smelled on me anyway - gorgeous!)

so theres this little bear on the swing that you are supposed to scent with something calming -- I'm now thinking about scenting it with Snow White, or maybe TKO -- should i consider something else? Shes 2 months old right now

I thought about that and wondered if I should add that to the sandalwood page instead -- its a HUGE category!! And, there are still scents I havent added to this, in the LE and disc categories WOO! I did a run down of as many of the wood containing oils as I could over the past few days -- arranged by note (teak, rosewood, etc, etc) -- would anyone be interested in benefiting from my OCD?

Ok I didn't apply it on purpose - but I swear my baby girl's head smelled like Snow White yesterday! It was actually hard to tell it apart from her own scent, but I couldn't stop sniffing her, so I had to really sit down and figure it out... I had a friend come over to visit and she was definitely wearing Snow White =) Tessa is very sniffable

honestly, Smut 08 did this on my skin -- It wasn't that I couldn't smell it, it just smelled like me... I didn't think I was all that smutty... (Three swarthy, smutty musks sweetened with sugar and woozy with dark booze notes). I didn't get any of the booze from this btw and then Velvet Nudie smelled like... Lemon Pledge - it was so wierd, and I was SO looking forward to trying it!

I had heard Ozymandias smelled like Chanel No. 5 - I know it was beautiful and dry, but I havent smelled the other so...

I tried this because of my obsession with ambergris, and I'll admit I was nervous about the pine. When I first put it on, it was PINE and I thought *crap* because I don't want to smell like cleaner. But after it settles, it has the same quality as the pine in Illustrated Woman... It smells like forest, not air freshener, and the ambergris gives it the smooth, ... almost chewy?.... feeling that is hard to describe. I am surprised to say that I like this and think I will keep it in my little box of scents =) It seems like a winter scent to me.

The scents with rose in that I've actually liked (either I love the rose, or it doesnt amp to take over the scent) So what I'm trying to figure out is which rose I like and which one I dont mostly rose, liked: *Spellbound (favorite) *Black Rose (2nd) 2,5,7 Rakshasa Jezebel could barely smell anything: Harlot Les Bijoux Blood Rose Lucy's Kiss Queen Mab Eve Did.Not.Like. I love the greens =) I tried to think of the most plant like, not perfume like My recs: Strangler Fig (sappy, thick green) Eden (very lush, with some tropical feel) Leanan Sidhe (delicate green) Nocnitsa (green forest and dirt) Amsterdam (grass and fresh cut flowers) Squirting Cucumber (sweet and very cucumber fresh) some others to consider, a little diff from above, either green or a very fresh realistic feel Ulalume (the end of green, very autumn leaves and a little wet outside) Deep in Earth (the scent of digging in your garden outside) Santa Muerte (very unusual, but very 'plant like') Defututa (this one isnt green at all, but i love the olive blossom in it!) Embalming Fluid (fresh, clean, greenish but not planty) Envy (another that is green, but not plants) Mock Turtle (another that is green, but not plants)

This to me was a cross of the fruit aspect of Bordello and the cream of Love's Philosophy - I will say I think I like Bordello better though, a bit darker maybe? (eta: over a year later - turns out I love this, and may be giving Bordello up to keep this one. I get an earthier Bordello, maybe with a hint of cream)

When I first put this on it was heady flowers and all heady flowers -- I was not happy with it at all. But I wore it, and eventually this fantastic fragrance hit me. It really is beautiful. I'm guessing that I smell the tobacco (the pretty kind, not in a cig kindof way) and the amber mostly -- its almost got a creamy (hazy?) quality to it that is very nice. I didn't get any fruit from this at all. If the first phase was a little less FLORAL - I would be sold on this. I will keep my imp though =)

I love all the light breezy floral/aquatics -- I second Tempest (I remember this being very close to Sea of Glass) and Szepasszony (both very soft and breezy), maybe Olokun (sweeter on the last one). Others that I have loved that have the same feel, if not actual smell - Caliban (very outdoors, saltier with a wet green) a lot of the reviews for Sea of Glass seemed to sniff: ozone, grapefruit or something citrusy, and lily or lily of the valley, lilac (it was also mentioned that this smells like Tears or Dunwich - not that that's particularly helpful to your search! but maybe for ingredients)
