Wine just turning to vinegar, crumbling mortar, red clay, and the coppery tang of old blood. This is a dusty scent, just like you'd imagine an abandoned cellar would smell. There is definitely a coppery tang to it, as the description says. It smells vaguely of dirt / earth in the throw, which is likely the red clay note. And there is just the slightest hint of fruit, coming from the wine.

Magnetic, mysterious, and exceedingly sexual in nature. A blend of exotic Indonesian oils sugared with vanilla. Water, Saponified Organic Palm Kernal Oil, Coconut Oil, Soy Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Sodium Lactate, Jojoba Oil, Caster Oil, and Snake Oil. First off, the wrapping is just gorgeous. I love the little black ribbon that encircles the paper wrapping as though you're opening a special gift. The bar is a very generous size and the top is engraved with an alchemical symbol. The Snake Oil in the soap is fresh Snake Oil, which caught me a little by surprise, though I really shouldn't be since the bottle of the perfume oil I'm using is almost two years old. The suds lather very well. I only needed one or two swipes on my mesh puff and it was enough to wash my whole body. This is also the first bar of soap that I've used in as long as I can remember where my skin didn't feel tight or dried out like paper after using it. With a little bit of lotion I was good to go, no itching or cracking like with other bar soap. I can definitely see myself ordering more of this when my first bar is gone. It will be a perfect compliment to my aged Snake Oil and all of the Snake Pit blends.

Thick shadows hang heavy across fungus-smeared, dilapidated wainscoting, cobwebs hang like fine lace across sagging mouldings, rats scuttle past gaping doorways. The faint scent of brimstone, ghostly breath laced with cognac, neglected mahogany panels, and rot. In the bottle and when immediately applied to the skin, this is not much else than musty stone. As it dries, there's something almost floral about it and I can't quite figure out why. Maybe it's the cognac? Now that I've looked at the description, it does smell a bit more like cognac to me... it has that slight alcoholic tang to it. Very interesting. It's amazing how a drop of oil can smell like a solid, albeit rotting and crumbling, stone.

In the bottle and when first applied, this is the most gorgeous deep dark red-purple wine that I've ever smelled. Up close to the skin after a few miuntes of wear, the amber and musk add a powdery spiciness. I'm hoping for a bit more champaca as this wears throughout the day, but it's lovely already! I'm so glad that I was able to order a bottle.

There is a sugary softness floating around me with this blend. Other than that, and there isn't much to it, there is not a whole lot of throw. Up close to the skin where I applied the oil, I get a juicy apple-coated floral. Must be the cider and the carnation. It's sweet and creamy and mellow. I like this blend a lot.

Mmmm, gorgeous Church incense. Reminds me of Ash Wednesday at my old parish.
-
Mmmm, cinnamon and tobacco. There's something really creamy in this blend, giving it a nice round sweetness. I don't get much of the coffee bean husk or woods, but the cinnamon bark is just fantastic. I wish I had bought a bottle of this one.

This reminded me of the cheap drugstore perfume I would get in a Christmas gift boxset as a pre-teen.

In the imp and when first applied, this is incredible grass and dandelions. If I closed my eyes, I'd swear I was standing outside in a lush green field. Now that's it's dried for two hours, it's some odd fabric softener type scent. Like when you buy things scented with "Summer Breeze" or something. Very fake and odd.

Whoooo..... SOAP. Do not pass Go, do not collect an oil that smells like worsted wool, teakwood and bois du rose. SOAP.
-
This is a whole lotta lilac when I first applied it, but over the course of the day, it's faded into a soft, light musk. Again, no leather apparent on me.
-
Oooh, this is all sweet cherry pipe tobacco and hops on me. The hops are most apparent when I'm smelling my wrist very close to my nose, and then they kind of linger in the back of my throat. The tonka just kind of ties it all together in a sweet, creamy bow.
-
At first I hated this because I kept getting whiffs of all tobacco and saying, "Who the hell is smoking?!?! Gross!" but now that it's dried down for a couple of hours, I'm really kind of digging it. The musk tempers the tobacco and it just smells warm and comfortable.

In the bottle and on my skin, this is all rose. There's a touch of the benzoin giving it a delicate resinous spiciness now that it's had two hours or so to dry. But that's really all I'm getting out of this blend.

This has a sweet fruitiness to me that, initially applied, comes off as pineapple. I'm not sure what combination is triggering pineapple in my brain, but there it is. I love this blend. I'm wearing it for the second day in a row, which I never do, just because it's so sweet and luscious. I, for the record, could not get rid of the old Milk Moon fast enough, so this pleases me immensely.

This is a mishmash of florals on me. I can't identify any on their own, though I know there's rose in here because my skin tends to amp that one. I don't get any of the honey. This is pretty powdery. Not really my cuppa.
-
I got mostly rose out of the bottle, which is fine with me. I'm pretty good with almost all of the Lab's rose blends. When it hit my skin, which tends to amp rose, I got the sweet fruitiness of apple blossom. There's something in here that reminds me of Pink Phoenix, but I'm not sure which, if any, of the notes are shared. This is, for the most part, a sweet fruity floral. It has a bit of a dry, woodsy undertone, but only if I put my nose to my skin. And glancing at the list of notes, I don't see anything that would be dry like this. Interesting.

Bought this for the honey, which I getting a little bit. The throw is spicy and musky, but if I put my nose to my skin, I'm getting something very similar to vetiver which makes me sad because vetiver and I do not play nice at all. It's usually thunderdome combat, to be perfectly honest. Oh well, you can't win 'em all.

This is definitely spring in a bottle. I bought it for the honey cakes, because I have a rule where I'm allowed to buy any blend as long as it has honey in it. I would say at this point (two hours after application) that the strongest note is the frankincense, and then a jumble of soft florals are wafting around me. This is soft and incensual, floral and feminine, light and breezy. Very pretty for the first day of spring.

Oatmeal cookies, with lots of brown sugar and cinnamon and cloves and nutmeg. This is spicy and cakey - a foodie's dream.

Mmm, when it hit my skin, it was an explosion of almonds and rose. It hasn't changed much as it has dried, it's a very nutty blend with a hint of floral throw. My skin likes lily too, so I'm assuming that what I'm smelling is more of a lily / rose hybrid and not all rose like I originally thought. This is very sensual.

The leather is most prominent, and it's the dusty sexy leather from Dead Man's Hand on me. Other than that and the Snake Oil, I'm not getting much else. Maybe a little bit of the herbal sage, but this is pretty much leather and Snake Oil.

When I first put this on, it was all HEADSHOP!!! in my face, which I enjoy... don't get me wrong. Now that it's dried a little bit, it is still resinous and incensy but has calmed down considerably. I smell something a little woodsy and sweet that I will guess is the sugar cane.

This is the most Snake Oil representin' blend I've tried so far (and I'm almost done with the whole Pit). It's predominantly Snake Oil splashed with sweet sweet cassia and red ginger. I don't get much cinnamon, but the day is early. Perhaps it will come out later.

This keeps fluctuating between "soap" and "Johnson's Baby Oil" on me.
