Yes? It was a limited edition for Valentine's. But since it was this year and a lot of people are still getting their orders (you could get it through the 31st), it shouldn't be too hard to find.

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils
darklorelei replied to friendthegirl's topic in BPAL FAQs
If there's something you *know* you're allergic to, definitely ask the lab. I think Penance asked about almonds in particular, and got a list of oils to avoid. You're obviously not going to get all the components, but if there's something that's going to make you really sick, they'd probably help you out. -
yep! eta: I assume you're doing it this way, but the accent is on the 2nd syllable.

I tried this at the October Chicago Meetup, hoping that I would get some of the other notes in this blend, but as fruit amps on me, I definitely only got strawberry.
-
Sooo...this myrtle appears to have the same effect on me as oakmoss, at least to the guesses of the Chicago bpalers. This means weird maraschino cherriness. I know, I know. Now go read someone else's review.

I didn't really get any honey suckle, which I've liked in other blends, but holy Jasmine.

Oh my gosh, you guys! I love this so much! I'm sorry this is so short, but this is from my notes taken way long ago in October at the Chicago Meetup. But any little bit helps? gingery, lemony, clementine, awesome! must buy! As to its purported effect, citrus-ginger is definitely a mood-lifter for me. And when I'm not depressed, I'm definitely a ballsy girl. incidentally, my bottle should be here any day, and I'll expand.

Irish cream.

I'm sorry this is so short, but this is from my notes taken way long ago in October at the Chicago Meetup. But any little bit helps? I really liked this. It wasn't for me, per se, but I'd definitely track it down if I had a guy in my life. This was intensely fresh green. Very truly pine needles. On the other hand, I'm the only one who smells it, so...yeah.

The Queen’s Consort: Lord of the Wide and Fertile Land. Patient, laborious, and clever, though preoccupied with material things. A perfect compliment to his Queen: deeper, darker earth notes with dark musk, tobacco leaf, oakmoss, amber, leather, sage and vetiver with fig and bitter almond. I'm sorry this is so short, but this is from my notes taken way long ago in October at the Chicago Meetup. But any little bit helps? I should also preface this with the fact that I have a really, really unusual reaction to oakmoss and myrtle, and vetiver is always a shot in the dark. Shirley Temples. The marachino cherry kind. Yes, I know. That's literally my only note, and I can still remember Kate's face from that observation.

I'm sorry this is so short, but this is from my notes taken way long ago in October at the Chicago Meetup. But any little bit helps? I definitely got some nice spice from this, but the neroli really came out on me, and neroli and I aren't friends.

I'm sorry this is so short, but this is from my notes taken way long ago in October at the Chicago Meetup. But any little bit helps? This review is of '04, incidentally. All I got from Gingerbread Poppet was a really really intense molasses scent, with none of the spices I got from, say, Three Witches. Smelled nice (albeit not what I was expecting), but ultimately way, way too foody for me.

I'm sorry this is so short, but this is from my notes taken way long ago in October at the Chicago Meetup. But any little bit helps? I actually enjoyed the honey/vanilla, but ultimately the cherry reaction I have to dragon's blood prevented me from really enjoying it.

I'm sorry this is so short, but this is from my notes taken way long ago in October at the Chicago Meetup. But any little bit helps? In my continuing quest to get cracked-out reactions to every bpal, my only note and memory is that this was extrordinarily gardenia.

I'm sorry this is so short, but this is from my notes taken way long ago in October at the Chicago Meetup. But any little bit helps? Lemony, clean, vaguely herbal. I should note that it was a good, green herbal. I found it and Lustration to be similar, but I should probably note that they might both have been adultrated by Moxie.

The Lowdown on Incense & Resin - The Best Recommendations

If you find yourself in the market for more cedar scents, ask Penance. She's the queen of the hamster cages. -
Lush to BPAL scent comparisons (BNever included too)

I've never tried Karma, but for orange/patchouli, I'd definitely recommend Ravenous, and definitely NOT Vixen. -
Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?
darklorelei replied to Absinthe's topic in Recommendations
Well, this is *also* not general catalogue, but it sounds like Smut might be right up your alley from what other people have said (the folks who went to the brick and mortar shoppe.) -
Who do I email with questions? BPAL/BPTP contact info
darklorelei replied to kebechet's topic in BPAL FAQs
I don't know what happened with your order, but I do know that their customer service person has been swamped, as per Brian's Brick and Mortar update. Also, was your email from a free account? (ie, yahoo, hotmail). I hear there've been some issues with spam filters. -
To me, this smells like that commercial "melon" scent that BBW had a while and all the girls at my hs were constantly using. But it is a bit deeper, but I can't quite figure out the base not. It's very sweet, but there is a faint green scent to it. It smells quite nice, albeit not for me. Also, my sinuses are screaming, so I'm off to go scrub my arm.

BPAL to represent each month, each season? Holidays, like Christmas?
darklorelei replied to taz19's topic in Recommendations
I'm from Michigan, so I definitely have to say the Hesperides for September (apples!!!) -
If you can find it (or if it comes out at TAL), you should try Lobban. It was one of the Voodoo oils and was DC'ed a while ago, but is pure lemony goodness.

I *think* I remember the review for the Lion having hay/grass mentioned, like the lion pen at the zoo, or something. I've never tried it, but maybe read the reviews for it?

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils
darklorelei replied to friendthegirl's topic in BPAL FAQs
Most of it is probably the location of where you put the oil more than anything else. Most of the popular perfume spots are over veins, which have the advantage of warming and giving the scent throw. However, these areas (inside of elbows, wrists, and behind ears), are some of the thinnest skin areas. So...watch it with some of the stronger oils.
