I'm looking for some information on some of the discontinued scents. I can't seem to find the information in the reviews (or, if they were listed in the reviews, I missed them.), and I didn't want to start a new thread so this seemed to be the most logical place to put this request. What I'm looking for is the original categories (Diabolus, Bewitching Brews, Sin & Salvation, etc) that the following scents used to be in, if anyone remembers. Depraved: I had a very similar experience to ViolentKitten. Very strongly apricot on application, and within 10 minutes it became a very earthy patchouli (not the stinky hippie patchouli that I've grown to dislike) tinged with apricot at the edges. It's a goreous scent, but not an everyday scent for me.

Delirium: Oh, this smells exactly like I suspect Delirium would. Rose, lemon and apple.. I get something different *every* time I sniff my wrist. It's a beautiful mish-mash of delirious delight!

Black Cat: Wet: Chemically acrid. Very much like nail polish on me. Drydown: I start to smell something herbal, and something floral.. rose, perhaps? I'm also starting to detect something resin-y, as I'm getting the weird taste in my mouth that I generally seem to get with resin scents. Longterm wear: turns to soap. I think I'll have to pass on this one.

If you can get your hands on Decadence, it is *very* Cherry-Almond to me.

In the bottle and wet on my skin: Holy Red Maraschino Cherries! Almonds, too! Oh, this is yummy. Drydown: Spicyness. Hints of fruit and rum punch. Goddess, I love this scent. Please, please PLEASE release it! I don't think I've ever grovelled before now, but this scent is *amazing*.

Debauchery: I seem to be one of the few that doesn't get amped-up civet on my skin. I smell it, but it's lurking in the background. There's a faint ammonia tinge to Debauchery, but not enough to overwhelm me. When wet, Debauchery is all musk and incense. After the drydown, I smell the opium hiding in the background, too, along with the civet. All in all, it's not a *horrible* scent, but it's one I could do without.

De Sade: The description reads: "the raw scent of leather." Well, I suppose it depends on what kind of leather. New, leather jacket smell? No. This smells like a well-worn horse saddle. Leather and sweat and.. I believe it's called tanning oil, though I don't mean sun-tan oil! All in all, far too masculine for me. I'm not overly fond of the scent of most leathers as it is, so this one goes off into the swap pile.

Come To Me: Wet: Sharp, biting citrus of some sort? It definitely screams, Hey! Look at me! Drydown: Like everyone else, I'm also getting that soapy scent, with a hint of floral. After awhile, the original citrus/herbal smell (it seems similar to verbena) comes up through what smells like rose to me. The soap smell fades, but is not gone entirely. I'm headed to bed, so we'll see if its Voodoo blend works on my husband. And, I must add: I will never cease to be amazed by Beth's creations that start out smelling one way and end up another.

Cold Moon: This scent was so complex and constantly-changing it baffled me. In the imp, I smell berries! Lots and lots and lots of berries, with perhaps a hint of mint. As soon as Cold Moon hits my skin, though, it's floral, interlaced with.. soap. After about a half an hour or so, a get a slight hint of something mint-based coming up, but it's very vague. In the end, it fades into a very nice, light floral, but the soapy hints are still there. I'm going to have to try Cold Moon again, and see if it has the same effect. The whole experience was confusing. Admittedly, this is my first lunacy oil, so I'm unfamilliar with lunar oils as a whole.. I'm not really sure what to expect with them. Ahh well, better luck next time.

Cheshire Cat: Wet: Very sweet, very citrusy. I thought what I was smelling was lemon until I checked the description again and saw that it's grapefruit. Drydown: The lavender and chamomile start to come up, quite pleasantly. @ 10 minutes: citrus starts coming back up with a hint of musk. Several hours later, Cheshire Cat has faded, but it leaves behind a nice citrussy floral. I enjoyed it, but I don't believe it would be an everyday scent.

So I have to ask.. in the pronounciation of Samhain as "Sow-en", is it a long or short O?

Carnal: Wet: Definitely fruity, bright orange. Drydown: I can smell the fig, and it's toning down the boldness of the mandarin. It almost has a hint of raisins.. Final: It's all fig. Like Fig Newton cookies. I like the smell, but it would work better as a room scent than as a personal scent.

Cairo: Cairo smells very sweet in the imp. I was expecting a full, head-on incense/resin scent, but I was thoroughly impressed. Upon application, Cairo mellowed into a soft incense smell, and as someone said, sunlight and stone. Very faint, and quite nice.

Golden Priapus: Juniper. Nothing but pure juniper on me. I'm not overly fond of that much juniper smell, so I ended up swapping this one.

Bluebeard: Like some others, upon the first sniff it was a pure "UGH!" reaction. All musk/vetiver, very very masculine. Now that it's been on my wrist for about an hour, I'm starting to faintly smell the violet and lavender, but all I'm really getting is musk and sweaty pirate feet. I'll pass on this one.

Bloodlust: Both wet and on my skin: YECH. Very, very masculine smell on me.. the musk/patchouli mix and vetiver *really* stand out, making me stinky. This one's going in the swap pile!

Blood Rose: Wet: It almost reminded me of a drink we used to have back home called Dragon's Blood, which was Blackhaus and Cranberry, sometimes with a bit of Chambord. I definitely get that from this imp. After application: Definitely dragon's blood and bright red American Beauty roses, all around.

The Apothecary: Wet: it's so sweet, it's almost floral in the imp, in a newly-sprouted-flower kind of way. Upon application, it fades into a very, very green scent. I can definitely smell the tea and the mosses. Green, but not too woodsy on me. Quite nice!

Aizen-Myoo: Like others, the first impression I got was *bitter*. Very bitter. After about 10 minutes it fades into a lovely floral with the undercurrent of tea. Very nice, and quite enjoyable.

Skadi: Skadi smelled like Christmas on me. It wasn't overwhelmingly evergreen, but it was enough for me to not want to wear it this time of year. Perhaps around the holidays, but not in March! All in all, it worked well with my body chemistry. Whatever the evergreen scent is intermixed with (berries, as others have mentioned?) is a brilliant blend, and it works *very* well.

The Lion: I was very hesitant to try The Lion, given that I've had horrid experiences with Amber. The Lion proved me wrong. This is simply *gorgeous*. It's very warm, not overly resin-y, and in my opinion, very golden or perhaps orange. Sadly, after about 10 minutes, the spot of application started itching horribly. No clue as to why, but there must be something in there that my skin doesn't love. Ah well, back to the drawing board.

Dragon's Heart: In the vial, Dragon's Heart smelled *very* musky. Upon application, it maintained the musk scent but the Dragonsblood started to rise up afterwards, albeit faintly. It faded on me within an hour. I'd love to give Dragon's Heart another shot if it weren't just musk.musk.musk on me.

Loup Garou: Hello, evergreen! Someone else mentioned that this was like walking through a forest, and I can't disagree. This is a very green, very masculine scent to me. I don't suspect I'll wear it often, as I'm not overly fond of evergreens as a wearable scent.

Blood Lotus: In the imp, Blood Lotus smelled very strongly of fruit and Dragonsblood. I'm glad to see I wasn't alone in that initial impression. On my skin, though, the Dragonsblood immediately faded into a nice floral (likely the lotus, though I'm not familliar with the scent of lotus) with a very slight resin undertone. Resins don't work with me - they usually consume my senses and become overwhelming - but this is just faint enough to be acceptable. All in all, Blood Lotus is a very wearable, light floral on me. I like it. It's a keeper.
