Emblaming FLuid or Dirty-just good, clean smells
-
Mmm… Its cream and flowers and just a hint of mint liqueur. It reminds me of Spooky without the overbearing chocolate/candy sweetness. The sweetness and the floral blend so well on my skin that they seem like a single note, reminiscent of Snow White without the coldness. The lunar oils are there, but not as sour/harsh as they are for me in some of the other blends. I am so glad I have extra. I’m even tempted to horde the extra my boyfriend bought….
-
Very ozone, like Lightning and Thunderbird, only softer. The scent is overwhelmingly clean and crisp, like fabric softener, soap and water, and cold air all mixed in. The crispness subdues the lunar oils-which for me is a God send. This is the smell of clean-wet laundry and the air after it rains-and yes, a little like Febreeze-but in the best possible way.
-
Green and woodsy and cold. Like being in the woods wrapped up in a heavy coat at night-which is not usually my thing at all. It does warm after a bit, and even gets a bit perfumey to my nose.
-
Ozone deluxe! Very clean and spirited! If you love Lightning or Storm Moon you’ll love this. (I was lucky enough to get an imp from a lovely forumite who sold me Storm Moon). Dryer sheets? Sure, but only the fresh scent ones-nothing powdery or cloying about this oil

A maddeningly festive blend of warm, buttery rum, cocoa, coconut, vanilla and a jolt of peppermint. It’s a sweet, decadent, slightly silly scent, reminiscent of rum-laced holiday cookies. Thin mint cookies, end of story. No rum, no coconut--Just mint and chocolate. Its like dietary sabotage in a bottle. *sigh* Off to ebay with you.

Hard candies, rum, and hints of chocolate. It morphs quickly but not drastically. It’s sweet without being heavy (like the aforementioned candies) and rummy without being overbearingly boozy. (Rum and I are not such good friends anymore) The chocolate is more of an accent, not too strong-which is just how it should be. Its well rounded and warm. I ordered two bottles. My bank account hates me

Cloying, noxious, and heavy. I wanted to like this so much, sweet pea is one of my favorite notes. However, when mixed with lily and carnation, it goes to syrupy sweet on my skin.
-
Soft, innocent, and undeniably feminine-the subtle rose, the lily…just perfect. The notes are wonderfully balanced and no single element dominates on my skin. I feel pretty and light and comforted. This is by far my favorite floral.
-
Disappointing. Watery sweetness with no real character, fading to nothing on my skin within an hour. No lovely black tea...no milk...just weak hints of sweet and plastic. *sigh* I had such high hopes for this…

Holy mother of grapefruit! Biting is too mild a word for the sharpness. Somehow, however, it works. It mellows to a soft citrus (probably by virtue of the tea). The ginger (which I was looking forward to) was a no-show. I do like it though, ginger or not. Not sure about bottleness yet, but it’s a definite contender.

I love the smell of leather; I used to inhale so frequently in the tack room that I must have seemed like I was snorting something. Roses and leather sounded perfect. Unfortunately, all I got was rose, strong, demanding rose. My skin seems to love it and pushes it right out center stage. I like rose well enough, Ophelia is one of my favorite florals, but the rose in Whip is too brazen. Maybe I can mix it with something else…
-
I had such high hopes for Hymn…the roses, the lily, the myrrh… Unfortunately, all I got was a slightly stale rose and nothing else. Needless to say I was disappointed. Oh well-off to the swaps it goes.

Lemon and green tea-slightly sugared-from beginning to end. Like Fresh’s Lemon Sugar and the Healing Garden Green Tea swirled. Soft, sweet, fresh, and addictive. Its *so* going in my next order.
-
In the imp: soft and very perfumey, perhaps too much so. On my skin: the smell of old lady perfume, or rather my aunt’s obsession with Estee Lauder’s Youth Dew.
-
From the bottle to my skin and beyond, all I smell is maple syrup. Its like sickly sweet pancakes- not a good thing for me. Eh..they can’t all be winners…off to the swap pile.

Delicious! Sweet and earthy and so comforting! It starts off sharp, almost like candied lemons and evergreen, and softens into an almost indescribable perfection. The hint of lemon fades quickly into a more subtle form, and the bayberry (?) really warms up the evergreen. Its like Christmas snow in a bottle!

In the bottle, Harvest Moon is spicy and foody and mysterious. The pumpkin and berry and smoke blended beautifully, and the wine note gave it just enough oomph to avoid a Betty Crocker vibe. On my skin it was initially the same. Unfortunately, after about half an hour it became acrid and stale, almost chemical smelling. I may try this as a room scent or add it to a candle, but it just doesn’t work on me.

The most appropriate word I can summon up for Snow White is beautiful. It has the same soft, almost milky vibe as Dana O’ Shee…but with more substance. There’s a complexity I can’t pin down, like honeyed fresh air, snow, soft florals, and milk…but more. It’s almost indescribable.

Haunted really took me by surprise. I received it as part of an imp lot on ebay. In the bottle it was not very impressive. I almost put it in the sale pile. Then, just to be sure, I tried it on. Wow… It’s so soft and feminine but dark and sexy too. Sweet and spicy and very reminiscent of Calvin Klein’s Obsession (but without the cloying heaviness). It’s just warm and powdery enough to be subtle without crossing over into bland-probably due to the complexity of the amber and musk Musks don’t generally work on me; Haunted seems to be the exception. I will definitely be getting a big bottle-this is pure infatuation!

Mmmm… How I wish I had more than just an imp of this. It smells like all of the good fruity/molasses bits of fruit cake, without, well, the fruitcake. Its like spiced plum tea and Christmas candy swirled into one. Its sweet without being cloying, and soft without being wispy. Methinks I’ll have to pay ebay a visit.

Perfection-plain and simple. Lugnasadh stayed true from the bottle to my skin over the course of several hours. It is a warm, cozy scent, with hints of good things all around. It smells like mulled cider, berry tea in the bag, and oddly enough, sweet feed. If I could mix my horse’s sweet feed with the berries and mulled cider and get this smell, I’d be a sticky mess trailed by ponies. I will be using my bottle oh-so-carefully...hoarding it (from myself) for special occasions only.

I can sum up my impression of Kabuki in three words: Cherry Industrial Disinfectant. 'Cause that is exactly what it smelled like to me. We used said CID in the animal hospital I work at once. It was promptly returned to the distributor. Needless to say, Kabuki will be leaving my collection. Serves me right for bidding on a 5ml unsniffed. You live; you learn.

When I read the description for Blood Kiss I was instantly infatuated. Vanilla sweetness was calling my name… Dragon’s Blood was a mystery, and I was eager to find out just what it smelled like. Now I can only assume that Dragon’s Blood is what made Blood Kiss smell so suffocating to me. Well, that or the musk which jumped right out at me, smothering any hint of vanilla (I swear, it knows I don’t like it, so it makes a nice show of being noxious). This will be going into ye old swap pile, straightaway.

In the bottle Oneroi smelled exactly like pure lavender essential oil. Luckily I love lavender in all its incarnations, so I happily slathered it on. On my skin it stayed very lavender, with not so much as a hint of anything else. After about an hour it softened up, and the jasmine really came through- very cool and lovely. After two the lavender all but disappeared, leaving Oneroi smelling exactly like a jasmine & gardenia solid perfume I once had (from Aromatherapy of Rome). Though it morphs from one pronounced smell to another, I’d say this is a definite keeper, credit card …prepare to burn.
