Best not to assume anything about exact composition. However, as we all know, Beth has a great deal of experiance in the field and makes her oils as high-quality as she can afford (ie, she proly can't use pure agarwood oil because she wouldn't be able to sell us a blend with it in it without loosing a ton of $!), and I'm sure that her panacea blends would pass the test of any aromatherapist

Many natural oils are not essential oils--many are absolutes, concretes, etc The term "perfume oil" can mean many different things, depending on who's using it. It can mean naturals, synthetics, etc, but it seems like Beth is saying perfume oil instead of essential oil because she might use stuff like concretes and absolutes and natural essences that aren't essential oils. I know this keeps coming up but does Beth use, say, jojoba oil in any of the blends? Some oils/resins are of such high odor intensity that their true odor only comes out in dilution (I remember mixing some EOs/absolutes together according to a recipe and being terribly dissapointed when the pungent odor that greated my nostrils smelled muddled and overpowering. But when I diluted it in carrier oil--jojoba, as it's the best and really moisturizing--the characteristic odor of frankisence and other essences I had mixed--became a lot aparent, clearer, and prettier )

I was sure almost immediately after ordering 13 that I'd hate it. White chocolate, iris, and orange? The notes sounded to me like they'd completely clash, and the blend as whole sounded like it'd be a wierd sort of mishmoshed mess. Well, I am happy to say that I was WRONG 13 starts off chocolately, like Bliss, but...whiter...I've smelled white chocolate, but this doesn't smell like white chocolate to me...just...milk chocolate but whiter (I know, that doesn't make sense!). The citrus enters and then eventually exits, but the iris (a bit green) springs out almost immediately and stays the entire time. I love the iris--so fresh and springy!--and in the context of the white chocolate, it smells very creamy 13 dries down to a lovely creamy floral very offbeat, but still lovely!

I'm not a good one with notes (usually need the scent description to remind me), but the main notes are immediately identifiable as cinnamon and dragon's blood There's definately something smokey in here too.. This is a red scent, very warm and sensual I'm SO glad I got this as a frimp!

The sandalwood--definately cedary but also soft and sanded and almost unassuming--is the most obvious of the notes. Thankfully, though, it's not at all overpowering, not like the sandalwood in Velvet smelled to me The soft citruses--bergamot and manderin--are the second most dominant notes, and blend well with the sandalwood, forming a bright and surprising harmony. The saffron is very light indeed and sort of "wafts over" the blend (I catch the occasional whiff when my nose is a few inches from my wrist, but not when my nose is pressed to my wrist). The rose note, which is pretty subtle, acts as the "bottom" in the rose-citrus marriage that's going on. From what I can detect it's a pretty astringent rose, which is a bit dissapointing, although it's so subtle that it doesn't impact the blend much. The amber is the underlying base in this blend and only acts to keep the sandalwood under control and to add a hint of warmth. This is a gorgeous blend--it conveys the impression of what the furniture and walls of a Middle Eastern palace must smell like

Well, word is that Beth herself has said that sweet Chai was what she was going for with Bengal... ...so what are you waiting for?? order it now!!

The notes in Baba Yaga are difficult for me to identify I definately get the pinapple but it's more like dried pinapple than fresh--no juicy smell. I also get something resiny...and maybe a tiny touch of pine? There's definately a woodsiness here...

Straight out of the bottle... Fruit of somesort! A yummy, slightly tart fruit! Omg...something sorta vanilla is coming out...and coconut...and pinapple...:icon_eek:.... Drydown it's pure milky coconut with a touch of pinapple :icon_eek: TROPICAL SMOOTHIE!!! Thanks scarlet!!!

Fae is a gorgeous peach-and-light-musk scent

An agricultural gargoyle. Though he is the Guardian of the Crops and Keeper of the Fields, his visage is still the stuff of nightmares. The scent of a hot wind blowing through desolate, scorched, barren fields. The same slightly sweet, dried grass/hay as in Coyote blended with dark (black?) musk...pretty masculine, definately animalistic, and nothing I could ever wear =/

I think it's time that I finally review this =P Pumpkin (like in Jack) and dark, smokey spices...nutmeg, maybe a touch of clove, proly ginger...a touch of smokiness too, like a piece of jack-o-lanturn that's being served as desert after sitting outside with a candle in its inerds all Halloween evening. I find the smell of spiced pumpkin yummy but rather banal. This, however, is a dark and very unique spin on that classic scent, and it's beautiful

Deep cool wintergreen mint and bubblegummy lotus greet my nose as I dabbed Frost Moon on my arm. Definate icy and aquatic without seeming sinister or frenetic, like Tempest or Hurricane. It has a crystalline sparkle to it...I'm reminded of ice levels in action/adventure/rpg videogames Not something I'd wear, but it would be great in an oilburner!

I would rec Red Moon it's something I'd wear to a fertility ritual, for sure

... A mixture of springtime greenery and classical Roman cologne: rosemary, bergamot, lemon rind and vervain with costus, benzoin, gray amber, cardamom, white narcissus and iris. The first thing I get from Ides of March is a something that smells like amber and cinnamon-sugar (cardamon?). I smell nothing green at all, just an incredibly unique and not at all masculine blend that smells resiny and foody the rosemary and lemon peek out a minute late, though both are very gentle and add just a little herbal touch to the blend. I think I detect bergamot (which is the main top note I get from Alice), but if so then it's weaving in and out of the other notes and I can't really put my finger on it As the blend dries down, the resins subside a bit and the greens and florals poke out a bit more. The blend smells herby, but not medicinal--in other words, not at ALL like Belladona/Water of Notre Dame/The Apothecary. It's fresh and bright but sunwarmed, like the sun kissing the gold-eared wheat as it sinks slowly below the horizon. This is an incredibly unique scent and not at all what I expected. It's for warm summer days when the sun is hidden and everything around you is in a dreamy shade. Marvelous!

Y'all aren't gonna believe me but I just tried Yuletide on one hand and Three Witches on the other, and they're REALLY similar on me...TW has a teeny bit more bite, and Yuletide is a bit sweeter, but otherwise they're identical. (I don't really get berries from Yuletide, btw). Yeah, I know

Holy cow Formula 54 dries down to Perversion on me F54 is a bit "redder", but it's close enough as makes little difference

I'm guessing that the candle wax-like opening is opium+narcissus, because those are the notes that this has in common with Darkness, which smells similar. The lillies, tinged with poppy, show up early, and their perfume is heavy and narcotic. I usually don't like florals, but this doesn't go soapy on me and it fits the concept perfectly bravo!

This is Villain in 10 years time if he continues his life of scum and villainy The scent starts out as bright, sharp lime--sligh and high-pitched and "hollow" smelling against the background of lilac and musk. That lilac and musk... I'm not sure whether or not this is the lilac of Blue Lilac SN fame, but it's gorgeous...it has this heady, intoxicating quality characteristic of florals like ylang ylang; combined with the white musk (which adds a hazy texture to the lilac), Whitechapel smells strangely comforting...no--soporific. The lime is still hanging around the edges--it smells almost metallic. Whitechapel is comforting, intoxicating, and seductive (yet elegant)...the lime is the perfect "corrupting" note. It's like biting into a perfect, dewy piece of fruit only to find that it's been devoured from within by maggots brilliant!

This blend opens as an almost pure cypress, which actually smells like a green cedar It's almost immediately joined by the red patchouli and ginger (both of which are pretty sedate). Rose shows up as an undercurrent in this scent, floating above, below, around, like a billowing gauze...ahhh there's the fig! not too juicy...the cypress and patchouli have taken a back seat at this point, but they still exert their calming influence on the blend. This is an incredible blend--beautifully complex, womanly, and strong. I need a bottle of this. Now.

Tulzcha smells a LOT like Blue Moon. In the bottle, it's a slightly watery candy mint...like the mint you find in Junior Mints and Andes on my skin the cucumber shows up--fresh and watery and bright in that mellow cucumbery way I think I can smell the white pepper hear...it adds a slightly spicy "texture," like the blend is tweaking you on the nose and laughing merrily. It's beautiful and PERFECT for summer

CXLI (141) also a thorne decant! This one is gonna be very different too Fresh lemony zest softened by something in the background...milk maybe? a bit of honey. Smells like Lemon Zinger with milk and honey in it The notes blend as the scent dries down--the lemon zest is still the dominant note, but it never "bites." I never get any chocolate, but this is still a lovely, lovely blend, which I'd also enjoy a bottle of brilliant! Previously reviewed by Thorne.

My review will be *very* different from hers, just to warn ya First off, I can definately smell the cinnamon, but it's mixed with something else...as it dries down, I can definately smell white sandalwood and white musk (as it has the same base as both Zephyr and Kuang Shi have), and I think the cinnamon is blending with something light and peppery. There's a soft sweetness...vanilla? The whole blend has a very clean feel, with a touch of the kind of powderiness that Antique Lace had. This is a beautiful blend, one I'd be happy to have a full bottle of Previously reviewed by Thorne.
