This reminds me very much of a cherried Alice--I smell almond, cherry, carnation, and perhaps something slightly milky. It's pretty and soft, and entirely different than what I expected

Lavender and sandalwood and tobacco..mmm! I'm not sure if the lavender in this blend is different from the lavender in the somnium blends or if the sandalwood is modifying it, because it doesn't smell sharp at all. I adore the lab's tobacco--it's smokey and sweet without being overly masculine. It's a lovely blend, yet a bit confusing......lavender I associate with aromatherapy too much to use as anything other than a sleep aid, and yet the blend seems unsuited to such uses.

Picture Rose Red as a bouncy, charming lil 5-year-old girl dressed in frills and pink bows. Now imagine that same lil girl completely drunk on Bon Vivant. That's Two, Five, and Seven

YUM! As the proud and lucky owner of a bottle of d'Anjou Pear SN, I am happy to say that that luscious note dominates Endymion Unfortunately, I do detect an undercurrent of "dryer sheet rose" in this blend. As the blend dries down, the rose takes over

This blend is indeed heavy on the red musk and patchouli, but the dragon's blood sweetens the blend slightly, giving the earthy smokiness a firey edge, while the cinnamon (which fortunately doesn't overwhelm) gives that fire a slight spiciness. This is like a bright fire made in dark earth. Very strong, masculine, and adventurous...I can definately see a hero in a fantasy adventure movie wearing it!

Grapefruit, plum, and something dark and powdery. It's an...odd, slightly disjointed scent, and puts me in mind of some sort of formless, sinister presence.

Yeap, salt water and dragon's blood! Dragon's Blood smells like heavy lilacs with a touch of orange to me. The aquatics give it a salty tang and a very slight wateriness, but the dragon's blood is definately at the forefront.

Cedar, sandalwood, and something sharp and green and almost sweet. It really does smell like some scene in Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell--magik-y and such--but nothing I'd wear as a regular perfume.

Unfortunately, the rose in Delerium seems to be the "dryer-sheet rose" that ruins blends like Moon Rose for me (very sharp and perfumy). I do like the lemon in this blend--tart without smelling like cleaner--but the rose just makes the blend hate me =/

Gentle aquatics and soft, waxy white lilies, spiced up beautifully with carnation I don't really smell the sweet pea, and the aquatics dissapear after the wet phase. I'm put to mind of a beautiful woman--young yet elegant--sitting quietly, vulnerably, sadly. It's the scent of sad innocent beauty about to end.

Why do all BPAL scents smell the same to me??
joseybird replied to kadmia's topic in Recommendations
Same thing happened with all the imps in my first BPAL order...except that coincidentily they did end up being of the same/similar scent families and such Thankfully though I went back and gave Morocco a second chance -
Sexy, Smutty, Seductive, Provocative... It's All in Here

*Definately* Perversion...also Scheherezade, although the former is more blatently sexual and the second is more just sexy-assertive -
Plums and pears with a hint of gardenia and maybe some woods... baah. This scent deserves a far better review than that! hmmm... A native woman is picking exotic fruits in the heart of the jungle. This is the smell of the scent--woods, leaves, a touch of flowers, and a cascade of fruits, led by plum and pear

The peach/amber and patchouli combination is both completely unexpected and a bit...dirty smelling It smells like corrupted innocence, of a dark shadow briefly crossing the sky on a bright summer day, of...evil peaches
-
Peach and heliotrope...Tamora comes immediately to mind when I sniff Fae. The oakmoss gives it an 'edge' at first, but then the bergamot comes out (gives it's lil citrus 'twang') and what I'm left with are a couple of rays of sunshine tussling on the ground. Very ethereal and sparkling and 'light'

Something...honey...and something very dizzying (wine?)...wow--I smell the incense now, mixed with the honey, and swirls of smoke... This is a wonderful scent--incredibly evocative of ancient outdoor festivities and intoxication!

Suggestions for scents based on the 4 elements
joseybird replied to friendthegirl's topic in Recommendations
Actually, I heard that Beth once made 4 elemental oils as a set? maybe it was a custom set from a while back? Don't know any details though... -
Oh yes, and JULIET!! On me it's pear/light musk/honeysuckle
-
I'm glad that I didn't review this right off the bat, because it took a few wearings for me to learn its nuances This starts out a lovely honeysuckle-pear-musk...utterly beautiful and not soapy at all (yay! a floral that doesn't go soapy on me!!). During drydown, it becomes a heavy honeysuckle, which I'm not *terribly* fond of, because honeysuckle smells fake to me unless it's light and breezy. But late drydown, when it turns into a musky, gentle lily with just a hint of honeysuckle left, is beautiful. So...beautiful-->eh...-->beautiful I can live with that Juliet is going to be one of my summer staples, along with Shanghai.

OMFG!!!! Beth, you are totally -worthy.... omg I hope that that all bottles came with brains?? I just...omg... Even if I don't like the juice, there's NO WAY I'm letting go of this baby!! What a perfect gift for a neurologist

Almondy Tamora drydown!! This smells of pure almond wet, but it quickly dries down into that same yummy vanilla-heliotrope scent...not sure if I can detect the frankinsence, but the cinnamon is definately noticable...a yummy, edible blend

Brooding, yet electric: the scent of buried secrets, roiling nightmares, the essence of the Crawling Chaos, the Father of Knives and Locusts, the Hunter in the Dark. This is the blackest of ritual incenses charged with flashes of ozone. Thank you Penance! Softly smokey, slightly metallic and ozone-ish (but not harsh...does that make sense?)...this smells so unique to my nose that I hardly know what to make of it! This definately smells like a place or a deity...it smells of something not living, or unliving...a presence, perhaps. I'm imagining a table in the backroom of a little museum...this is the smell of the artifacts on the table.

Red Moon embodies that for me--warm and magical
-
VERY strong and herbally on me, but fresh, too--this is a ginger plant! I wouldn't wear this by itself though, and I wouldn't know what to layer it with ...still, it's an experiance!

Oooo! This is a lot lice lemon italion ices, but with a slight herbal bitterness to it. As it dries down it maintains it's "bite" while getting smoother and softer--yum!
