Scent similar to DSH "Au Lait"

bumping this thread in hopes that more milky scents have come out recently (I've tried all the ones mentioned here) There's Obtala of course (sp?) but...but...MOREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

    Cinnamon girl...

Cinnamon lovers are SO spoiled by BPAL! I swear, there's cinnamon in half the blends I've tried that don't list it... My favorite cinnamon blend is Three Witches, but my favorite cinnamon oil is the old cinnamon SN; it smells a lot sweeter and more mellow than the red-hots-like variety that seems to be in most cinnamon blends these days (not sure if it's actually a different kind of cinnamon or just an aging/batch dif thing)

    Fée

Fee is absolutely gorgous...like Dorian+Fruit Moon+fairy sparkles! =D To describe it color-wise, Fee is a riot of creamy, bright pastels--green, yellow, peach, white, pink...it's fruity, but not in the "neon juice" way of many BPAL fruits. The lovely soft vanilla and delicate hint of musk make the blend all fluffy-like, with the white tea--not at all sharp, yay!--adds a refreshing sparkle to the blend. Fee is most definately one of my top BPALs of all time, and easily my fave of the N/N scents!

    Bearded Lady

I tried this blend a while ago, liked it, but decided against hunting down a bottle. However, the memory kept niggling at my mind, and I jumped at a half-bottle I saw for sale on the forum. Let's get one thing out of the way: for the most part, I hate BPAL florals. They smell either soapy or murky to me, and one floral note in an otherwise floral-less blend can completely ruin it for me. That being said, I nonetheless LOVE Bearded Lady. The scent begins with a burst of Stargazer Lily, which is not only the only BPAL floral note I love, it's a single note that I'd KILL for (I had the pleasure of sniffing it in the SN circular swap). The honeysuckle arrives in a cloud of violet-laced vanilla; the amber note isn't obvious but instead lends a hint of warmth to counteract violet's natural chilliness. This is definately a deep, sensual floral blend, very "purple and white" in tone and satiny in texture. It is one of the very few BPAL scents I can genuinely call "elegant"--a scent that would fit right in at a fancy dress party or (better yet!) an upper-crust picnic on estate grounds in England. I'm sure it's the Stargazer Lily that "makes" this blend for me; the only other BPAL floral I love--Juliet--also contains Stargazer Lily. It's such a pity that this note appears in only a small handful of BPAL blends!

    Spanked

This is absolutely WONDERFUL: a warm, spicy, sexy, sinful scent that nonetheless isn't extremely heavy or agressive--just enough to get one in the mood I can smell the leather from Dee, a wisp of patchouli, a soft undercurrent of ambery booze, and the gorgeous spicy kick of cardamom. This has shot straight to my top-ten list, and I'd buy a gallon if I could. (To anyone who's interested: Sin+Dee creates a very similar effect!)

    Snow Moon

First of all--LOVE the label! Prolly my fave BPAL label so far, besides Mi-Go Pine, eucalyptus, and sugary candies--that pretty much sums up Snow Moon for me! Very, very similar to Snow Bunny, although I think I like this one a wee bit better

    Clio

This is a very tough scent for my nose to pin down, so please bear with m ; The first note that pops out to me is something that strikes me as orange blossom, even though it's not a listed note. I think it might be a juicy orange note corrupted by patchouli. The background is a peculiar yet very unique amber-paper base; once in a while I get a slight whiff of lavender, but that note otherwise seems unconnected to the rest of the blend. I'm torn about Clio. I LOVE the paper/amber base, but the orange note feels thin and...wierd...I'll try it a few more times to see if my opinion solidifies one way or the other.
  8. For anyone longing for Snow Angel, Phantasm is prolly the closest oil in the GC I've smelled (the whole sweet lemon/tea vibe)

    Snow Angel

The only other perfumes I can think to compare Snow Angel to are Ava-Luxe's The Blanc and Fresh's Lemon Sugar, but Snow Angel blows both of them out of the water. Sparkling and effervescent without aid of any alcoholic note, Snow Angel does indeed smell like sugared lemon--actually, more like sweet, idealized lemon, for although there is a very slight tartness, it doesn't smack of lemonade at all. There is a soft, light floral element and a refreshing tea note that provides the foundation of the blend. To sum it up--sparkling lemon-sugar floral tea sprinkled with flower petals. Lovely!

What do bottles and labels look like?

I wanna know what the Come and See, Anniversery blends, and BPTP bottles look like!!! Pictures, please?

Best BPAL for bath or body oils?

One thing I love about Scherazade is that it's SO strong and potent that I only need to mix a little into body oil...since I'm currently on a body oil-making spree, I'd love to hear suggestions for other super-strong, super-concentrated scents (ie--not Dana O'Shee or Snow White! :lol) that I can mix into a base of body oil (or the bad, for that matter) without breaking the bank =) ty!

I wholeheartedly agree with Silk Road!

    Sugar Cookie

05 version I must say, I like this better than the 04 version, which had such a strong doughy milk note that it made me sick after half a day of wearing it. The O5 version, oddly, doesn't seem to have the "flour" scent that pervades most BPAL "baked goods" scents. It does, however, have a sweet rum note, which is fortunately quite appealing to me, despite my general dislike of rum notes. In fact, the best way to describe Sugar Cookie O5 is this: eggnog+sugar cookies--ta-da! A pity it lasts all of 10 minutes on me =( although it does mix very nicely with Three Witches.

    Jacob's Ladder

Pure soft, golden mineral powder, very much reminiscent of heliotrope, actually, and particularly Tarot: The Sun. I definately get the Egyptian Amber, but it doesn't smell "fluid" like the single note does...instead, I get a crystalline powdered tranparency. This is lovely--cozy and warm. Not quite as OMFG!!! as I had expected (I had hoped for something creamy, and this certainly isn't) but it's surprisingly comforting nonetheless.

    Midnight Mass

This stuff is HARD CORE! Not sweet and soft and wimpy like incense sticks, but the real stuff, somber, heavy, and somewhat sharp (from the frankincense?). This is definately a blend that needs to be sniffed from at *least* a few inches away (pressing my nose to my wrist, I get a very sharp dill smell). I get a sappiness, and a waft of dark, powdered minerals, as well as the woodiness that coulrophobe describes. Interesting...I have no idea where/when I'll wear this, but I'll hold on to some, just in case.

    Cathode

The mints here are just like the mints in Tulzcha (or is it the other way around...) but stronger, sharper, and darker, although (oddly), *not* metallic-smelling or fresh... Evil Toothpaste, indeed

    Snow Bunny

A sweet, slightly spicy pine, not nearly as "bright" as Dublin or Skadi, with a twist of citrus and an almost alcholic note. I can detect a sweet perfumey note in the background. This is Skadi and The Hamptons' lovechild...appropriate, I guess!

    Hearth

A whiff of pine, then butter and carmelized sugar (like Sugar Skull) and a nice warm nuttiness. As it dries down, the pine note dissapears, and eventually all that's left is mapelly sweetness. Nice, but it doesn't feel very distintive =(

    Beaver Moon 2005

In the bottle and initially on my skin, Beaver Moon smells like cinnamon frosting and bready cake (bready like Gingerbread Poppet is bready, if that makes sense). As it dries it develops a thin, saccharine sweetness and a nauseating quality that I can't stand at all (note that I LOVE foody blends ) I thought I'd like Beaver Moon, but it ended up being one of the very few BPALs that make me feel sick, along with Satyr and White Rabbit

    Chokmah

SASSAFRASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D An' a lil woodsy stuff there too...?

    Geburah

Smokey cologne!! Definately smoke curling through rain-drenched fern...not bad smelling at all, but...unnatural, somehow...... Ahah!! It's a faintly rubbery leather! Interestingly enough, this smells more like real leather to me than other BPAL leather blends (which just smells like wood blends). Postmodern is what I'd call Geburah...postmodern...

    Kether

Ahhh yes...honied cherry almond! This reminds me a lot of Dana O'Shee, actually, but less milky and more cherry. The cherry has a snippy, almost playful little bite to it, and the composition has a pudding-like creaminess...a nice, comforting blend, and probably the only Sephiroth I'd wear as a perfume.

    Chesed

Ooooo dry, herby woods...like a branch lying on a forest floor must smell like after a rainfall... There's a bit of citrusy tang here I can't pin down. A nice blend, but it has the odd effect of simultaneously trying to calm me down and pep me up! The woods are soft and soothing, but the tinge of citrus keeps smacking me upside the head!
