Favorite Scents
Maiden, Old Morocco, and March Hare are some of my favorite BPALs so far. I like florals, orientals, and some foody scents.

Ohhh, this is good! Just testing an imp. Didn't think I'd like the tobacco note at first, but it softens and the drydown is a sweet, smooth almost skin scent that's lovely! It's soft but still has plenty of oomph. The tobacco, tonka, leather and hint of coconut are there for me, plus a little warm spiciness and some musk, I think. Very nice and not too masculine for me.

I can see why reina's friend was reminded of Angel by this because it has a little in common with Angel but without the heavy pacthouli. I get a grapefruit note and some florals and a soft cocoa note that I love (but maybe that's just the combination of incense and other notes). Anyway, it's pretty, refreshing, and yummy! Long lasting too. I was surprised by the amount of citrus in this one, but I like it a lot.

Thanks!!

I apologize if this is covered somewhere, but can someone tell me how to pronounce Xiuhtecuhtli? I'm just curious! Thanks!

Just tried my sample of March Hare and found another favorite BPAL. It starts out with spiced apricot, smelling like apricot pie. As it dries it smells less like a pie and does have a bit of a candle resemblence, but it's so yummy I don't mind. I smell apricot, a spice blend that seems like cinnamon and mild clove, and something vanillic in the base. Very yummy and lasts for many hours on me.

Old Morocco is a great softly spicy sandalwood to me, and I agree with MissAnthropy that Noir smells very sandalwoody (it's nice too).
-
MissAnthropy, I smell sandalwood too! I like Noir a lot, but not quite as much as Old Morocco. The spices and soft sandalwood in Old Morocco hit me just right, but Noir is another great scent I enjoy in cooler weather.

This is probably my favorite BPAL so far. On me, the drydown is soft sandalwood with a subtle spiciness. It's warm, just a bit on the sweet side, and lasts quite well. I really enjoy this one, especially in cooler weather.

Wow! Lots of these sound wonderful -- Queen of Sheba, Kali, Pele, Xiuhtecuhtli, Danse Macabre...

O, Old Morocco, Chimera... This is a great idea!

Chimera is a great scent for cinnamon lovers! Lots of cinnamon on a background that's a little resiny and a little incensey to me. Very nice and extremely long-lasting. This is one of my favorite BPALs thus far! Update: After wearing this some more, I find that the drydown has a fair amount of vanilla in it to my nose. Smells like cinnamon, vanilla, and a bit of incense. Sweet, but not overly so. Just very yummy!

Another vote for Vixen!

Hi Nella! Glad to hear the Lab will have some extra help. Have fun!

I've been wondering the same thing about the ties. I think the juice in the vial is much more important to everyone than the presentation, unique as it is. Seems like the presentation is more important for the larger sizes, and people buy samples just to try all the fun variety BPAL has. If imp tying takes a lot of time, I'd happily take a vial with a simple computer printed stick-on label. I've been really enjoying trying the imps I've received in swaps! Everyone is happy to wait for orders, but with 2 jobs Elizabeth could probably really use some ways to simplify things!

Sorry to hear you hit another bump in the road. Sure hope you feel better soon!
