In The Bottle Moss and patchouli. Lovely and soft/warm On Application Oh, this is lovely. Slightly woody, mossy. Dry Down This has a cologney quality to it. More a bookish man than uber-masculine brute. I can almost smell some coconut in there as well. It is thin and metallic but warm much like some of the Steamworks scents and not the furry, cuddly scent it started off as. About 20 minutes later it's back to warm, sweet wood, moss and cologne. Lovely. Rating (0-5) 4.5

In The Bottle Gardenia and peach (the peach is delicious!) On Application Floral with some peach Dry Down The gardenia amps up to start with. The neroli muddies the scent (not my favourite note). The creaminess comes in to tone down the high florals and allow the peach back in. I'm a little disappointed in this one. Smell like a peach potpourri. Will retest. Rating (0-5) 3

In The Bottle Cold grassy mint On Application Icy mint and grass. Dry Down The grassy note fades pretty quickly, which is a shame, to leave clear, cold spearmint. The slightly sweet spearmint morphs to more of a peppermint (I would have expected it to go the other way around) and then the grassy note comes back (yay). This gets colder the longer I wear it. I love it. not alot of wear length. Rating (0-5) 4

In The Bottle Cool, piney and perfumey. True to the concept so far On Application As above. Not wuite what I was expecting Dry Down This gets fruitier as it dries down (berries and grapefruit) with a bit of sugary sweetness to offset the pine. When I originally applied this I thought I wasn't going to like it but it has turned into something like caramelised blackberries, grapefruit zest and sugar. Not too sweet. Nice! Rating (0-5) 4.5

In The Bottle Fruity wine On Application Dirty socks and wine with sweet fruit Dry Down Doesn't take long for the sweaty smell to fade and leave a beautiful spiced red wine and pomegranate. This doesn't morph much from the spicey, fruity wine with a touch of leather. I love this and I'm so glad a snapped up a bottle. Can I just say, the yule labels are beautifully minimalistic. In The Bottle Frankincense and myrrh On Application Quite light on first application. I totally get Coca Cola as well. This is brighter than I thought it would be Dry Down Very, very strange but pleasant. Bright, light, fizzy cola with a resinous dryness beneath. I really don't know how else to describe it. I actually really like it but am hoping it develops a but more with aging. Rating (0-5) 4.5

In The Bottle Lemon, moss and musk On Application Oh wow. The leather and patchouli come out immediately on application. Spicey. Dry Down This is a real morpher on me. Starts on the skin as leather and patchouli, then quickly to lemon and woods, then to a really smokey musk and leather, then some of the cologne element comes back to blend in. Underneath it all is a smidgeon of vanilla to sweeten up it up slightly. And it keeps changing. Now it's all spicey lemon and then all mahogany and leather I love it. Rating (0-5) 5

In The Bottle Cool, green and something else which is so familiar On Application Really soft and prefumey. Still trying to figure out the familiar scent Dry Down This is definitely creamy but not cloying cream. I expected to get almond or flowers but I can't pick those out definitively (thankfully). This starts off so soft but picks up power as it dries down. I was alos expecting this to be really cold like some of the other icy/sbow BPAL scents but it really isn't - it's cool/chilly but not cold. I have say that, unfortunately, I am already absolutely smitten by this scent. It is unlike any other BPAL scent I have tried. Rating (0-5) 5

In The Bottle Buttery and orange On Application Really buttery orange, reminiscent of Huesos De Santo, to start with and then a bit of leather (De Sade leather not Brom Bones leather) comes through. Dry Down I'm not a huge fan of the leather in De Sade. I prefer the deep saddle leather of Brom Bones and Western Diamondback. I can't stand buttery notes. Surprisingly the two together are quite nice. It takes a while for any licorice to come through but it strats to show about 10 minutes into the drydown. I was getting worried. I think I will need to get another bottle of this. Rating (0-5) 4.5

In The Bottle Crisp herbal. Almost like disinfectant On Application As above but almost with a tofee undertone. Dry Down It's a Gimlet. Lemonade and gin. Not me. Rating (0-5) 1

In The Bottle Woderfully salty and I can smell the Dragon's Blood which doesn't normally behave for me On Application Wow, extremely salty. It is delightful. The Dragon's Blood is less cloying than normal. Dry Down I am really loving this. Whatever is in the Dragon's Blood that I normally hate (jasmine or ylang ylang?) is really understated in this blend. I am also loving the salty aquatic element. By far the best of the dragons so far. Rating (0-5) 4

In The Bottle Woody with something like jasmine. On Application Spicey. I think I smell ginger quite strongly, which is promising, and jasmine, which is worrying. Dry Down Definitely warm and comforting. Surprisingly subtle. I will wear this a bit more and try it out. Rating (0-5) 3.5

In The Bottle Herbal with a touch of fruit On Application Quite a dusty herbal with smooth slightly sweet fruit Dry Down Almost minty herbs which really gets into the sinuses. Rating (0-5) 3.5

In The Bottle Soft rose On Application Attar of rose, primarily. Dusty rose Dry Down Quite nice and musky/dusty rose. If I hadn't found Othello a while ago, I might have considered a bottle of this. Rating (0-5) 3.5

In The Bottle Lavender and lemon balm, possibly lemon verbena On Application Defintely lavender and lemon balm. Not overly pleasant Dry Down While I don't like the scent it is relaxing. Might give it a go when I have difficulty sleeping but definitely not everyday wear. Rating (0-5) 2

In The Bottle Citrussy herbal On Application Sweet, dusty lemon peel. Bitter/sweet Dry Down If the lemon stayed bright this would have had a chance of working for me but I think the anise and cardamom muddied the scent for me. Just when I had given up this has really caught my attention again. It has become a bitter (bitter!) lemon sherbert. Now deserves a full wear test. Rating (0-5) 3

In The Bottle Slightly sour resins On Application Golden green, sweet and slightly woody Dry Down This one is strange. Everytime I take a sniff I want ot like it....but I don't. It has a sour sweat undertone which doesn't do anything for me. Rating (0-5) 1.5

In The Bottle Strong pine tempered by the cypress On Application Mainly cypress and musk. Very nice! Dry Down A deep cool pine forest on a sunny hot day. Dry, dusty and resinous. I love cypress. It is a soft and sweet piney/resin smell and in this instance helps to keep the whole blend from becoming too overpowering. Rating (0-5) 4.5

In The Bottle Boozy almond?! On Application Overpowering smell of petrol and almond. It might have been a mistake putting this on my skin. Dry Down About 5 minutes into the drydown this softens somewhat to gin and waxy, not too sweet fruit. A little later the fruit becomes more prominent and sweeter and then bubblegummy. Rating (0-5) 3.5

In The Bottle Fresh and lightly floral On Application This smells really aquatic and fresh with slight floral undertone Dry Down There is nothing mushroomy or dirty about this scent at all. This would be a lovely summer scent. I do get a bit of violet on drydown but it never takes over. Rating (0-5) 4

My 2 cents worth.... Shanghai - it's light and fresh, only a lttle bit sweet and has a decent throw without clearing a room. Very elegant. Theodosius - another tea scent but a little heavier

In The Bottle Sharp florals moderated by the mists On Application Almost honeyish florals, soft and damp Dry Down Fades quite quickly to soft wild flowers. Really nice but not really me. Rating (0-5) 3.5

In The Bottle Metallic and thin On Application As above. I can pick out lavender Dry Down Smells of a fine gentleman's cologne. Rating (0-5) 4.5

In The Bottle Definitely rose and musk On Application Strong rose with dusty musk Dry Down Reminiscent of Othello which I love but this doesn't stack up. I like this at the stage just before it fades - all musky rose. Rating (0-5) 3

In The Bottle Apple and.....something else. On Application Spicy apple and soft wild flowers Dry Down Dusty wild flowers with a touch of apple in the background. Nice but fades quickly on me. Rating (0-5) 3
