How about snowy scents that are somewhat sweet or floral? I love Snow White and feel like A Lady Tall and White will be a similar smooth cozy sort of feeling, but I'm hoping to find more cool, snowy sweet floral scents. I also love Pink Snowballs but feel like they're almost a class of their own. Help me find more?

just in case! I realized today that I have completely neglected answering questions, so hopefully this will catch up a bit Are you a gamer (of any sort - video, casual, tabletop) and are there any games you want? Sadly no- despite an interest my computer is not equipped. Would you be interested in BPTP CANDY? Yes! Do you like coffee? If so, what kinds? Flavored, fancy, basic? Beans or ground? No coffee maker, sadly! Would a Starbucks gift card make you happy or do you prefer your local place? Starbucks or Peet's! I visit Starbucks daily, so a gift card would be most appreciated! CUSTOM-Made Pottery?? yea or nay? coffee mugs, rustic or more elegant? a set of bowls? soap dish? bird feeder? something alltogether different? and lastly, good colors for glazes...? Hmmm... I would be interested if it was darkly colored pottery, more elegant than rustic. A draining soap dish would be lovely, or little knick knack holders. Do you have a forum buddy? Someone who knows you and/or your tastes well enough to answer questions on your behalf? Not really! If you are on Livejournal, would you appreciate LJ stuff like paid time, custom userheads, stuff like that? If you are NOT on LJ but are on other sites that have similar paid-for services (Flickr, for example?) would you, and what are those sites/etc? I mostly never use my Livejournal, so doubtful. If you are into tarot, what is your favorite card? The Hanged Man, the Devil, or Death. Would you like your own set of handmade rune stones or worry stones? Not particularly. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cider, or none of the above? Mostly tea! Ginger, cinnamon, vanilla, anything sweet and spicy and warm. Gum, hard candy, soft candy, or none of the above? Soft or hard, but prefer soft overall! I adore marzipan and Chocolove's dark chocolate, sea salt and almond bars especially. Loose tea or tea bags? Do you need anything for your loose tea? (Filters, presses, etc.) I can always use more tea strainers for loose leaf tea! o you do Goodreads or LibraryThing or a site like that? If so, can I see your to-read list, please? Not on either sadly but my Amazon has a few books I'd like, and also I'd love Ray Bradbury anything except the Halloween Tree, which I have. Zombies; Yay or Nay? Yay! I have read a fair amount of zombie fiction, though. If you have cats, do they like catnip toys? If you have doggies, would they like a super-reinforced canvas toy with a squeaker in it? Sadly Monster doesn't play with toys. If you have kids, what are they into? N/A How do you feel about wearable knitted lace? Shawls, wraps, and the like? Shawls are lovely- my etsy wishlist has some examples of the styles I gravitate towards. Looking at the warehouse, I notice that our lovely Greenwoodtree is able to do chart readings and/or forecasts at a very reasonable rate. Is this something you would want? Ooo, yes. Candy Corn: yes, no? I'm debating attempting to make some. >.> If it's vegan, yes! Hey, while answering, I thought of a question. The end of this month I'm going to Scarefest, the big horror and paranormal con in Kentucky. Here's the link to the site. If I were your witch, is there anything you would like from there (skull jewelry, art prints from an artist that catch your eye, etc), or anyone whose autograph or photo or such you would dig? I see I missed answering this, so I hope it isn't from my witch! Autographs and photos aren't my main things, but I love scary stuff! Skull jewelry, Halloween things, especially vintage Halloween! I live in Japan. Anything you would be interested in from there? Oh anything! What makes you laugh your ass off? movies, comedians, black humor, your partner, a comic strip? what? Lucyboo21's stories (the Naked Guy Fire, CeeCee and the doggy bag, you name it)! I like dark humor; American Dad always makes me laugh! You open a box from the post office to reveal the 3 things you want most right now. What are they? 1. This jacket! 2. A bottle of Dreabilly from Carnival Wax, minus the leather pouch 3. This necklace *** Note: please do not think I am asking/expecting my witchie to spend $90+ on a bottle of perfume, or round $200 on a necklace!! Just a few things recently that have caught my eye! You are meeting up with someone on a casual lunch/early afternoon thing. This person is someone you want to impress/look good for (for whatever reason, not necessarily romantic, and not necessarily for business either). What would you look like, given the contents of your wardrobe/etc? Hm. Dark skinny jeans, black lace up boots, and an oversized, off shoulder black top. You are to be let loose in a clothing store of your choice, to pick a full outfit, down to the shoes, the accessories, etc. and things would be altered to fit you if needed. What store would that be, and what would you look like? Free People! Lately I've been very inspired by them. This dress, this vest, this necklace & this bracelet. If you wear earrings, do you have pierced ears? I do! What is your holy grail "I'd kill to just have one drop in an imp" bpal scent? Hellion! I bought La Fee Verte instead, and traded it away. Imagine what I would do to have gotten the red statue and that perfume now... (I do have the green statue still, though! Thank the Gods.) Are there any existing Weenies that you have your eye on, but haven't gotten around to getting? Yes! Third Charm & Witch Dance especially, but there are so many, especially from the 2nd update, I'm waiting for reviews on. My new job is at a consignment store where we have all kinds of designer brands for very reasonable prices. Are there designer clothes/purses/sunglasses that you desire/love? (Give some indication as to your "style" as well. For example, do you like bohemian-style frocks in lavender? Crossbody purses in black? Sunglasses that are round and bug-like?) I like black bohemian things, but I'm an XL so it's hard to find. I love black 70's style things, but wear glasses so no sunglasses, please. I realize that we had a similar question in the ?aire, but I need you Witchee-s to list at least 5 items, each ranging $20 and under from Amazon.com or Walmart.com. 1. Cauldron tealight holder2. 2. Hard Candy Balm in Vampire Bite 3. Kings & Queens Shower Gel in Cinnamon Orange or Honey 4. Horns by Joe Hill 5. El Camino by the Black Keys In the meantime, let me know what you like to do on the Internet to kill time. Flash games? What are your daily websites/blog visits, or favorite YouTube videos? Tumblr, Facebook rarely, NAreviews.com, and BPAL.org always And what are your favourite characters from your fandoms? I like lots of things, but I wouldn't say I participate in fandoms. I do like Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, the Walking Dead, and American Horror Story most though. My Little Pony... Cute or meh? Cute but no ponies, please. Lip balm - tube or tin? Either! I love rose lip balms, or dark tints (think Clinique's Black Honey). I also love the Burt's Bees tinted balms in the floral sort, and have dahlia in that, but am curious about the rose shade or the plum lip shimmer as well. Would you like to receive a journal or sketchbook? How about other pretty paper goods like post-its, notepads, bookmarks, letter paper/envelopes? No thank you- I have many, many unused ones! Are you interested in audiobooks? If so, any specific titles? No, I don't really listen to them. Bar soaps with some scrubby bits, yes or no? I'd probably prefer non-scrubby. Do you need any small electronic gadgets like flash drives and the like? Not really. Would you like a pair of knitted socks? No, I burn through socks and would be too nervous about destroying them! Do you have any use for knitted dishcloths, facecloths, etc, especially if they were fandom related? I do need a darkly colored facial washcloth... Do you subscribe to any sample boxes, and if so, which ones? Would you like to receive some samples? I don't, and would be interested. Do you have a problem with nudes??? If not, do you prefer male or female? I love nudes, and prefer female. People ask a lot of questions about dogs and cats, but I know a lot of forumites have rodent pets. How would you feel about hammocks or toys for your rats/hamsters/gerbils/etc.? N/A Paintbox Soapworks: Interested in anything from her? Ooo yes! Anything fall-ish, spicy, especially Moundshroud or Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground scented. I've never tried anything from her but would love to! ThinkGeek: anything interesting to you on there? I like this t-shirt, rather. What's one thing you want, right now, that you're having difficulty finding? A dark colored facial washcloth! A nubby/scrubby one. Are there any e-tailers you're desperately wanting to try? if so, any specific items/scents/etc? Anything in my etsy or dying to try wishlists! Owls? I like owls, especially horned ones. What do you do to take care of yourself when you're having a rough day (sick, life not going your way, whatever)? Take a bath, curl up with a good book, and eat lots of junk food. Who here is going to be picking up JK Rowling's new book on Thursday? I haven't bought it yet, but I want to! Favorite and least favorite baked goods? Least favorite, anything non-vegan or with bananas. Favorite would be pumpkiny, peanut buttery or chocolatey cookies. What size T-Shirt do you wear (standard AND babydoll)? In women's t-shirts it depends- I'm a large at Old Navy, a 2x at the trading post, and generally an xl. In men's I'm usually a medium (I need about 40" bust). I prefer v-necks over crewnecks, also. I found a fantastic little shop while traveling that had unusual jellies and jams. Would you be interested in trying something like Georgia Moonshine Jelly or TOE Jam (each letter stands for some kind of fruit, I don't remember which ones) or something similar? How about homemade jam in general? Hm. If it had something like cookie butter but pumpkiny, that'd be grand, but overall I don't much care for fruit sadly. Would you be interested in homemade herbal remedies and tinctures? Yes! I love things to help me sleep especially. Witchee, do you want anything from the Haunt update coming up on 10/3? I know it might be too early to say, but if you could look at the preview on the night of 10/2 and let me know if you want anything... Oh I love Haunt- I shall update my dying to try with some things. Do any of Villainness' Soap Box exclusive scents interest you, especially any of the Smooches/Whippeds? I love Villianess soaps, and would love anything with any of my favorite notes (mostly I gravitate towards resins and vanilla). Puddin' just put a shitton of old Lunacy shirts on the BPTP Etsy! Any ones interest you? I missed out on Mourning Moon! Sad. Is there something(s) that you consider too spendy or too frivolous for you to buy for yourself, but that you actually want? Not particularly.

Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?

Golden Priapus layered with Snake Oil reminds me so so much of WILF it's uncanny! -
Let's see. I'm an earth sign with lots of firey things in my chart, and am oft interpreted as a fire sign by others. I'm incredibly loyal to those who have earned it, very pragmatic and down to earth, but I hold myself and those close to me to moral standards as well. I am passionate, ambitious, empathic, driven to succeed but make decisions professionally more of emotional fulfillment than money. I am in a very committed relationship of will be seven years this October, though have no plans for marriage or children. Stylistically I have my monroe and septum pierced, dark auburn hair that a medium-long length, am quite curvy with Buddy Holly-esque glasses. My fashion sense is predominantly boots, skinny jeans and some decorative camisole, cardigan or motorcycle jacket combination. I also love dresses and usually wear them when not at work, either vintage reproductions from the 1950's or flouncy ponte dresses. I am obsessed with medical oddities, circuses and sideshows, though more historically than do I choose to contribute to an industry which is unkind to animals. I love the Victorian era stylistically if not politically, adore learning about and looking at taxidermy for hours, but also feel a certain sadness towards it which inhibits my collection, as well as my boyfriend's sensitivities. I feel a deep, overwhelming love for my little terrier mix, and frequently choose animals over people. My favorite colors are jewel tones, rich deep or dark greens, teals, purples, eggplant and grey. I don't think I've done this! My interests and obsessions come in waves, so I'll describe what's been inspiring me most lately.

Medieval romance and courtly love. White rose and soft resins. Mmmm. This is absolutely breathtaking. I am a self-proclaimed white rose fiend, but as my much beloved White Rose and Alice are becoming a bit too girly for me, I am absolutely ADORING this blend! The white florals in this are completely overcome by incensey, rich resins- which feel quite similarly to me like Schwarzer Mond as just rich, warm and a bit otherworldly. It is a tad sour, but very earthy and deep with a kiss of feminine sweetness. Dry the frankincense is blossoming, lending a sort of golden quality to the scent, but the florals emerge again- fresh cut white rose, with a hint of green to the blend as well. Just beautiful. I will be wearing my imp to see how frequently I think I'd reach for a bottle (that's one of my troubles with my beloved white rose blends, I adore sniffing them but seldom wear them!), but seeking a bottle may be in my future.

Ooo, fresh out of the bottle it's just JASMINE. I've traditionally had difficulty picking out jasmine from other floral blends, but this one is very carnal, almost single note on the skin. Sadly, once it dries it becomes a bit powdery (oh amber, how I used to love thee, please behave!), at which point it smells almost identical to my grandmother's house from my childhood- faint synthetic rose tealights burning, the scent of her dusting powder, and floral french milled soaps at the sink in her very boudoir-esque bathroom. This evokes very strange sadness and anger in me, but also a sort of nostalgia. Unfortunately I don't think I can wear this one because of the emotional content, but it is a very pretty, classic sort of jasmine and rose perfume.

I swore there was honey in this! Wet, Burning Vulva is a very interesting sort of scent- honey and black pepper, then leather peaking out, grabbing a chair and staying a while. I was hoping for a sort of scorched quality to it somehow, but this is definitely a sort of slow, soft creamy sort of scent. The past Vulva scents to me have been instant swappers, and this one is the first that I can remember that I continuously sort of kept going back to sniffing. Once its dried a bit it becomes absolutely gorgeous- a sort of honeyed leather and orange blossom, with no spiciness of the black pepper or ginger, but just a very sexy sort of scent. This could definitely be a cozy date night kind of scent- with someone worn in and comfortable, sexy in that understated kind of way, versus that come and get me vibe I've gotten from Sin or Hunger. Similar to O as reminding me of naked skin, barely perfumed, but very intimate and pretty.

I was gifted by an amazing Lush customer with a little baggie of Lupers- and this is the one I was most excited to try, though I am thrilled to get to go through so many of the scents I would have otherwise missed out on. Khajuraho I purchased a few years ago and quickly swapped away, as I remember the bottle beginning as a very creamy, rich floral, but turning to something horrific and sickingly sweet. Thus far, this blend is very smooth, all honey and creamy florals, the date palm leaving an edible quality to the blend, but really supporting the champaca and the tuberose. The amber and sandalwood are almost undetectable to my nose, but definitely give the scent a sense of warmth. Very, very yummy and feminine, but sort of cozy too.

Ooo, yum. SO thrilled to have acquired a bottle of this! It's hot, citrusy chai tea laced with patchouli. Very regal, resinous with just hints of sweet orange. Cozy, warm, a deep amber-colored scent. Reminds me of Schwarzer Mond in the mood of scent, very smooth and rich.
-
This scent reminds me of hot summers that I protest by wearing spicy, cologne-y scents to help remind me of the approaching cooler weather, months off. Lots and lots of bay and wood- by reviews I was hoping for smooth, warm, patchouli-ridden vanilla with hints of the bay and the woods rounding it out, but unfortunately the patchouli and vanilla have run for the hills while the more masculine aspects have set up stake. After getting over my initial sadness losing some of my favorite notes, I'm able to enjoy the masculine edge to this. To me it's almost like a summer bonfire without smokiness, reminding me somewhat of Halloween: Los Angeles. Pretty. On first testing was thinking of throwing it to the swap box, but now it's a staying.

First off- most badass label art for this puppy. Second off- noooooo! I love 13 blends, and especially love 13 blends which might turn to bitter-sweet, peppery chocolate. Though, to me, this is very much a fruity 13 blend despite the pepper and paprika. No tobacco, just floral fruity chocolate- and chocolate, which unfortunately reminds me more of cheap Halloween sweets (the off brand ones you'd get a few of in your bucket, slightly powdery and dusty treats likely stored from the year before) with strange berries and honey. I'm really, really hoping that this ages nicer, as I would love some dark bitter chocolate tempered by spices and a smidge of honey. I have a feeling I am going to be very envious at the next Meet n Sniff of folks who amp better notes than I do.

Oh, jesus. I think I've just unearthed a new top 5 scent in my BPAL collection. In the bottle it's warm, spicy cocoa. It's definitely not dark chocolate but closer to raw, unsweetened dutch cocoa, the same note as in The Feast for the Greatly Revered Ones, conjuring memories of so many mole recipes gone terribly, terribly wrong (note: substituting 50% of the ingredients in online mole recipes is a bad idea, though these memories bear no bearing on the scent itself.) It's a very spicy, deep, warm scent, redolent to me of warm fall evenings- the October vibe we typically experience in California, when summer isn't quite willing to let go and let Fall happen, though it always does by Halloween. Like some others have said, it's spicy, peppery chocolate incense, everything I've wanted from so many 13 blends. Amazing.
-
Unfortunately I missed out on Panther Moon, but I agree with the Snake Charmer comparisons- the blend FEELS very similar to Snake Oil and Snake Charmer, sexy, warm. The sandalwood reminds me of SC's amber, very soft and understated, the supporting act in this blend. I will say the antique patchouli isn't the same golden patchouli I covet in blends like Mircalla and Melainis, slightly dirtier, which I suppose makes sense considering the scent inspiration. It's an incredibly well-blended blend, difficult to pick up notes, but it's very rich oil, dark and sexy with a bit of fruitiness I suppose coming from the blood musk- not fruit, but a similar feeling I get from fruity-patchouli blends. Later on in the drydown I can detect more of the almond and lavender- or at least I'm blaming them for the slightly weird disruption in programming, suddenly powdery and a little sharp- but it goes away after a few minutes and reverts to its roots. Lovely.
-
This one is very, very interesting. When wet, it's all red musk and ginger and sweetness- soft and warm and dark, somehow. In the same family as Crypt Queen or Mme Moriarty, and when it dries down it reminds me SOMUCH of a blend but I can't put my finger on it. Unfortunately, vanilla is eaten up almost entirely throughout my wearing experience. When it dries down the leather emerges- and swallows up almost everything in its path. Very reminescent in the drydown stage of Violens to me, almost single note leather with some spiciness and a breath of red musk. It's gorgeous, most definitely, though I have a feeling it will be getting less use and coveted as a blend.

Snake Oil Help! Layering it, Snake Pit scents, blends with Snake Oil
Fury replied to spaceprostitute's topic in Recommendations
Personally I would say Death Adder. It could be because my skin drinks in coconut, but to me it has the closest 'vibe' to Snake Oil than the others. -
Oo, perfect! For some reason I have NEVER tried Mata Hari, even though it has many notes I love. I've been contemplating trying it since 05 but was always scared of the jasmine, but I think it's time to break that cycle!

Hello! I am looking for a recommendation with rose as a note- I seem to recall a Lupercalia blend with similar notes, but for the life of me can't track it down. Basically I am coveting a BPAL blend similar to Turkish Delight, as described on the back of my bag: dates, honey, rose, jasmine and sugar (or some sweetness). Any recommendations?

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume
Fury replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Recommendations
I'd say the closest to Vanilla Bean Noel would be Black Lace- on me it was very sweet, yummy vanilla. It's also up currently for sale at Dark Delicacies. I didn't see any recommendations for this, and hopefully I didn't miss it!, but I'm hoping for a BPAL match close to a few of this Carnival Wax scents: Dreabilly: Smoke and dried wood, sugar and orange blossoms. and Jack of Aces: Vanilla cream, white amber, and eagleswood. Both to me are woodsy, sweet, and smokey smokey smokey. -

This has likely been mentioned, but aged Dana O'Shee smells exactly like Snow White 07 except slightly more almond and less floral, but definitely very very similar. -
I scanned the thread and couldn't find what I was looking for- and I'm so sorry if it's already been answered - but what rec's do you have for white roses? I LOVE Katrina von Tassel and would love a close GC equivalent, or any other LE suggestions similar? My favorite are sweet, sugary or honey rose blends, and I do like Faith (or Hope? eh..). I unfortunately have also given up on getting ahold of BPTP's White Rose, sadly. Any suggestions for less rare LE's or GC's?

I want a BPAL that smells like Bath & Body Works...
Fury replied to sihaya09's topic in Recommendations
Any recommendations for similarities to Pearberry? For some strange reason I have fallen fast for this one. # Fragrance Top Notes: Cantaloupe, Pineapple # Fragrance Mid Notes: Pear, Lily of Valley # Fragrance Base Note: Musk -
When wet, it's all grenadine and chocolate, sticky sweet and very strong. There's a slight nuttiness that must be the peanut butter, but when it settles down it's almost exclusively grenadine. Reminds me very closely of Monster Bait: Blood Mary except with chocolate instead of sugar. Delicious!
