Ginger, ginger, ginger. Spicy scents. Herby scents. Since discovering BPAL, I really like florals and some fruits, which I always hated in other products. However, Beth's blends work so well on me, it is shocking! I also find that I like musk, vanilla, and fig. I don't really like foody scents as they are often too much for me or go sour on my skin.

    And more questions

Historical fiction? Absolutely, yes. I adore this stuff despite cringing inwardly due to inaccuracies. Some authors really do their research, though, so I tend to read them. I love Tudor (although Philippa Gregory annoys me), medieval, and some Victorian. Speaking of historical fiction, how does everyone feel about Sherlock Holmes? He is okay. I liked the PBS series where Rupert Evert played Sherlock. Mmmm, yummy! Favorite cartoons or animated films? I like Gir off of Invader Zim. I like some Disney films, but, otherwise, I don't tend towards animated films. Your take on the election? In other words, would you enjoy campaign related gifts, or prefer to stay neutral? Please don't send me anything campaign related. It is interesting to follow and I will vote, but, I am not a huge political person. Your stance on the all important peanut butter issue: crunchy? creamy? allergic? chocolate? maple? go directly to nuttella, do not pass go? Smooth Peanut Butter for the win! Jif is awesome! That spicy stuff sounds good, though. No nutella. It is certain death to me since it is made of hazelnuts.

    How 'bout some more questions...

What will you like from Singapore? Candies? Food? Asian crafts/toys? Fabric is good! I love the fabrics that they have over there. What is everyone's "luck" item? Sounds totally sappy, but, I have two. First, I have my wedding ring. It is my grandmother's diamonds and her white gold, but, restyled for me. It holds 64 years of a very loving marriage and it now holds one year of my very loving marriage. My husband is one of the best and most genuine people I know. I thank the Goddess for him every single day. Even days when he is annoying me. The other one is a medieval heraldic pendant from the 13th century. It was definitely a woman's and you can still see some of the red and gold paint. The style is that of a rampant lion, which I have always seen as a sign of strength. Once I find another thin leather or rubber cord with a good solid clasp, I will wear it again. It makes me feel strong and it always, always reminds me where my true passion lies (even though I am a slave to the corporate man for now) and that I will return to doing what I love. Do you like art deco/nouveau - style prints? I do! What is one thing that, if you received it in the middle of all the hubbub, would make you smile and take your mind off of all you have to do for a bit? Pretty much anything. It is nice to know that someone else is thinking of you. How do you feel about Hello Kitty? She is cute, but, a little too girly and pink for me. I have my girly things, but, she just never struck my fancy. Joss Whedon? I saw Serenity and I liked it. Never watched Buffy or Firefly. Firefly, I would be interested in. Buffy, not so much (probably because I can't stand Sarah Michelle Gellar). When it comes to sci-fi, I am newish and only certain things seem to appeal. A good costume drama, however, I can't turn away. How do you avoid popping an item for yourself into an order you're placing for your witchie? I have lots of things directly sent. I have a witching budget and I must stick to it. Underpants? Do you like them? What's your style? Size? Yes, I like them. The boy short kind are my favorites. My size is medium because I have a big old butt compared to my little old waist (but, it matches my big old boobs!). What is your favorite? What tea would you love to try but haven't because of price or difficulty to get? I adore Chai and Lady Grey. I have really been getting into flavored green teas. I have one at home now that has lavender in it and I adore it. I've never tried super fancy teas. Well, except from Betty's in York. I discovered their house blend when I took my mom there for a proper English tea. Fantastic! I can't wait to go back and try their other teas. So, witch of mine, if you like tea, come visit and I'll take you! York, itself, is pretty damn magical! BPTP Room Sprays...your thoughts? Yes, please. Autumn things make me happy. Would you like to receive baked goods from your Witch? And if so, are there things you WOULDN'T like? Baked goods would be lovely, but, a bit of a customs hassle really. If you could manage to do it, just leave out the hazelnut and we are good. Your thoughts on the update? Don't need it. The blood note always smells like pee on me. How do you decide what to put in which package for your Witchee or how many packages to send? Well, some I will directly send. Others, just how the mood strikes me. If you were my witchee, would you be terribly offended if I sent you a box containing project "experiments" or random miscellaneous pretty bits of brainstorming that I thought you might like/wear? That would be pretty amazing, actually. I like to be a guinea pig. Do you often drink take away coffe in paper mugs? Not anymore. If I have coffee out, it is a treat, so, I drink it in. I do carry my tea travel mug with me quite a bit though. What would a perfume based on you smell like? I answered this wrong in the thread. I thought it was what you would want it to smell like. If it would smell like me, it would probably be lavender, warm skin, books, black tea, and herbs. Ha, ha, I just asked my husband and he shrugged and said, very offhandedly, "You would smell like home." Who here likes Wizard of Oz things? The movie was fun, but, the musical Wicked was fantasic! Do you like Mystery Science Theater 3000? Have you tried out (and if not, would you be interested in doing so) its weird little brother, RiffTrax? I have seen it a few times and I think I am stupid because I totally didn't get it. I often fell asleep. How does everyone feel about really green gifties? I was thinking of giving my witchee some of my handy-dandy "paper" towels (hand-sized, washable muslin squares--kinda like ultra-cheapo cloth napkins) in a kitchen-friendly decorative box, but I didn't want to seem preachy ("Stop using paper towels, you environment destroyer!"). Would y'all use something like that? Hell yes, I would. I am such a little tree hugger! What craft (or crafts) have you been wanting to try but have no idea where to start? Ummm, I want to knit. I tried it once and made a mess of it. Come to think of it, I am probably a lost cause at knitting. Would you appreciate some tunes in future packages? And if so, do you care if you get any CDs or mp3s you might have all ready? Or would you be able to find a way to post a list of things you're (a) looking for, or ( b ) all ready have? I will always, always, always take music. Always. Polish goodies! Who wants them? Baked goods, candies, kielbasa, pirogies, magazines, you name it? Sure! No magazines, though. I don't speak or read Polish. Or kielbasa (because that would probably be pretty nasty by the time it got to me. Ha ha! Favorite fairy tale? Snow White. The original creepy medieval version. Very scary. I can't seem to find it in print, though. Boo! About incense: do you like sticks or lose incense? Have you got one of those devices to burn lose incense over a bit of charcoal? Incense is good! I love it! My burner broke when I moved though, so, I need to replace that. Otherwise, bring on the incense! So how many imps/decants is officially 'you have gone overboard and your Witchee is going to expire from scent overload'? 32. This is the number that I received for free in a BPAL order. It took me well over two months to test all of them. I did enjoy the testing, though! Who needs a recipe box? Nope! I have one! ANYONE ELSE want a home-made cookbook? OMG, yes! I love cooking and have gotten into a bit of a rut. I don't mind if the recipes are meat-based. I can generally adapt them and I will make meat for my husband (he is not a fan of the fake meat).

    More questions answered!

My dearest Witch, I have started a new entry because that last one was so long! I hope this makes things easier for you! Love, Your Witchee Very important question: Are you planning on buying anything off your BPAL and/or other wishlists during the round? No, I will not. I have a witchee to spoil! I did update my BPAL list, though. I wonder if my witchee would like a blanket type thing. Would you? I love blankets! It may be too heavy to post overseas, though. What's your favorite "I know it's bad for me but I can't help myself" treat? I have discovered these things in the UK called Flapjacks. They are a buttery granola bar type thing, quite thick but soft, and the top part is dipped in Belgian Dark Chocolate. It is oh so bad for me but oh so good! Not too sweet. They are made fresh at our local grocery store and I have to speed by the bakery counter so I don't get one all the time. If you could have dinner/drinks/coffee with any 3 living people that are not your family/friends already, who would they be? Terry Jones of Monty Python fame. He is a medievalist, like me, and we could be very geeky together. Tori Amos because she is intelligent, quirky, and her music has had such a huge impact on my life. Margaret George, who is one of my favorite authors. I have read everything she has ever written and I would love to pick her brain about future novels. If you could bring back any TV show from cancellation what would it be? I don't watch much TV, but, I did really like Six Feet Under. It came to a natural end, but, it was quite good. What one (or two, if you really must) BPAL bottles are you most longing for? The new forum only baby celebration scent, Lady Lilith, and Ichabod Crane. Favorite animals? Dogs, hedgehogs, owls Funky chocolate? Yes, of course! The Pumpkin Spice chocolate sounds so good! Although, no bacon. Ick! Tarts? Sounds good! Say, witches, I have a question about birthdays: do you expect/rely on other people to plan birthday outings and activities? No. People have never planned a birthday party for me (other than my parents). I am just used to my birthday going quietly by. What think you about receiving tea accessories and/or miscellany (like mugs, cups, saucers, strainers/filters, honey, natural sweeteners [like stevia])? A nice mug and filter would be lovely! Honey and stevia would also be fantastic! I use stevia with my detox tea. Munsters or Addams Family, y'all? Addams Family! dadadada *snap, snap* dadadada *snap, snap* What's your ringtone? Tori Amos Precious Things. For my husband, it is Brave Sir Robin from Spamalot (his name is Robin). If you have pets, is there a SPECIFIC toy they like to play with; brand and size? Is there a treat/cookie they eat? What brand and size? Marley and Bailey adore their Planet Dog earth bouncy balls (the smallest ones). They are finally starting to fall to bits after 3-4 years of use (and that is because the big dog got a hold of them). I have been contemplating an order, but, they have to go to my mom first because the International Shipping is so high. Great products and they donate money to no-kill animal shelters. Buster loves his Planet Dog bone. It is the big one, but, he took it with him to the park and buried it. We have no idea where it is. Silly dog! I think they might be getting new toys for Christmas. Treats, well, they like pretty much anything. Greenies are their favorite, but, they are expensive, so, please don't shell out for them. My mom sends regular installments of Greenies and they finally showed up here. Otherwise, they adore biscuits. When I lived in the states, I would often make doggie biscuits myself, or, if I was short on time, I bought them from The Barkery, which was just two towns over. They loved the Cheese and Peanut Butter ones. Wow, I spoil my dogs, don't I? I should probably just start making my own again. Burned CDs/ DVDs / &c. Sure! What is your favorite thing to do on a cool fall day? Take a long walk in the woods or go apple picking. I love the outdoors in the fall. I will definitely miss my New England fall this year. Honey? I love honey! Especially flavored honey. I remember getting these honey sticks in the fall. You snap the end off and eat the honey straight away. Mmmmm, tasty! Pirates: Love the concept and the Pirates of the Carribean films. I like the skull and crossbones thing, too! Dia de los Muertos: Love it! The art, concept, everything! I grew up celebrating it, so, I hold it pretty close. Nightmare before Christmas: Jack rocks my world! Sending melty stuff: That's fine. It is getting pretty cool here now, so, no too much danger of things melting beyond repair. If candy is sent, would you prefer small amounts to a Halloween sized bag? Small amounts, please. A Halloween sized bag would make the postage too expensive (and it would make my husband too excitable-ha ha). Do you like floral bath soaps, shower gels, etc? Some florals work really well on me, but, only when they are balanced with something spicy, it seems. I am still newish to this, so, I am sure there are some out there that might work. I do lean more toward citrus and green smells, though. How do you feel about trinkets? Trinkets are fun! What do you think of Irrelevant Disturbing and Surreal Crawdad Dream? Love it? Hate it? Kicking yourself for not getting a bottle? I have it and have tested it. It smells great, but, it always makes me want blueberry muffins or blueberry pancakes. Not good for the weight loss efforts. Do you play a musical instrument? No. My husband plays classical guitar. I can plunk on the piano. I do sing, though. I was classically trained for 9 years. Has anyone tried ice wine before? Do/did they enjoy it? It is really tasty! It is really expensive, though. What other perfume companies (besides bpal) have you been curious about? A couple of the Possets are intriguing and some of the Arcanas. I do love my BPAL, though. Does anyone here do anything with grave rubbings? If I could find big enough paper, I would have them matted and hanging all over the house. Nothing is cooler than medieval grave rubbings (or Victorian, Restoration, etc, etc). Would you enjoy art based on original Graveyard photography? Yes, I would. I am morbid like that. What's in your Netflix or Blockbuster queue, do you want any new Netflix/Blockbuster friends, if so how do we find you on there? We don't have those here in the UK. What makes you stand out from the Switch Witch crowd? I don't really know. I'm not as interesting as all these fabulous people. Legwarmers? Arm warmers? Leg warmers, no. Arm warmers, YES! I live in the land of being cold all Fall and Winter. It always seems to by my arms that are cold, too.

    Switch Witchery

Hi Witch! Here are all the answers to the questions in the thread. All in one place to make things a wee bit easier for you! Love your witchee, SmallPaws And here are the questions! Where does everyone like shop for witching goodness? This is my first round, but, I anticipate that I will shop at various Etsy retailers and other etailers. I travel internationally a lot for work, so, I plan on hitting market stalls pretty much anywhere I go. I might have purchased one item on my last trip for my as yet unknown witchee. I couldn't help myself. What is your favorite pumpkin goodness? Cookies! I also love pumpkin doughnuts that the local bakery in my town in Massachusetts used to make. Completely drool worthy. Pumpkin bread is a sure winner as well! Especially warm pumpkin bread drizzled with honey. Also, every year, I roast pumpkin seeds. I make two varieties: spicy and sugared. Mmmmmmmm... What is your favorite part about fall? The leaves and breaking out my cold weather clothing. I always dress better in the fall. My other favorite thing is spiced apple cider (can you get that in England?) Do you like office/school supplies? If so, what is your favorites? I love paper. All kinds of paper. And cute folders. And fun notecards and stationary. And pens. What is your favorite Halloween candy? I love the pumpkin candy. Like candy corn, but, pumpkin shaped. Really, any Halloween candy is good. You can't find it in the UK and I will totally have Halloween candy withdrawal this year. Right or left-handed? I can use both hands, but, tend to write with my right and eat with my left. Any period of time that you love? My degree is in medieval studies, so, anything medieval. I also love Roman and Celtic eras. I am a little too obsessed with Tudor England, but, I love the characters involved. Amazing personalities. I also have an obsession with anything Eleanor of Aquitaine, Christine de Pizan, Katherine Swynford, and Chaucer related. And a decidedly unhealthy obsession with Elizabeth I. What is your favorite crafting supply? Amazing fabric! I love different types of patterns, weights, etc. Reduce - REUSE - recycle. Do others feel the same? Yes, very much so. I have so much stuff that I have found while trolling through thrift stores. It takes ages, but, you can find some real gems. I am also a recycling fiend. I have so many linen and hemp bags for shopping, that it is embarrassing. Tattoos! Do you have em? Do you want em? Whatcha got or getting? Not yet, but, I am working on something quite nifty. What about the Halloween scents? I will be putting in a rather large order along with my last bottles of CD (only two) back-ups. I plan on ordering: Blade of Grass, Autumn Coolness, Mictecacihuatl, Sugar Skull, To Autumn, Day of Skulls, and Katrina Von Tassel. I really want Ichabod and a couple of others, but, I must show a bit of restraint. Also, no matter how much I swoon over something, there will be no back-up bottles. I have to be a good little girl even if I don't want to be. What is one item that you've wanted forever, could have afforded, but have never gotten and why (haven't you gotten it!)? There are loads of these, but, the one that stands out was a complete tea set. It was gorgeous hand-thrown pottery and had a leaf theme. Sigh. I am still kicking myself over that. Who here prefers stylus and ink to ballpoint? Anyone invested time and effort into calligraphy or proper Victorian writing? What about stationery? Need some? What styles do you like? I love stylus and ink! I dabbled in calligraphy a few years ago. I really enjoyed it, but, haven't had the time (or a good set up) to work more on it. I would love stationary! I like things that look old and fancy. Do you decorate for Halloween? what sort of decorations? Dress up for Halloween? Every year! My friends in the states would have an annual Halloween party. This year, I won't be because it is rather hard to find decorations in England. It isn't such a big thing here. Bats, cats, skeletons, monsters, vampires, witches or what other ghoulies do you prefer? I like skeletons and vampires.Do you like horror flicks? Dario Argento made some pretty cool ones, but, on the whole, I am not a horror film person. Incense scents Woody scents. Spicy scents. Really, I just love incense! How is your bottle/imp storage situation? Pretty good! Although, I love using lovely wooden boxes to keep jewelry and other bits. I have a carved wooden box obsession. What was your favorite ghost/scary/campfire story growing up? The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. My grandfather told the story so well! It was CREEPY when he told it. Bugs? Dragonflies are awesome. As are lady bugs and butterflies. What keywords do you use when searching for items for yourself on Etsy? Handbags, leaf, tree, silver, hedgehog, dog, paper, journal, pottery, pendant Fiber allergies? none Halloween. Do you like it kooky or creepy? Kooky Reserved or Raunchy? Raunchy Earth, Wind, Fire or Water? Earth Tea or Coffee in the morning? Always tea. Fruity snacks or chocolate? I like both. Dark chocolate makes me swoon, though. Antiques or Brand New? Antiques! Would you accept art? Yes, I would! I love medieval inspired art! I also LOVE Waterhouse and Pre-Raphaelites. Obviously, I am not expecting originals! What is your favourite autumnal-seasonal drink? I have two: cider and mulled wine. What's your favorite book? This is really hard. I have way too many favorites! Decameron and I, Elizabeth are the first two that come to mind. What size socks do you wear? How about hat size? Socks need to be a size small. If they can be found. I have a terrible time finding socks where the heels don't end up around my ankle! Annoying! I have really small feet. I wear a 5.5 US and a 3 UK. My hat size is normal, I guess. Symbols that are meaningful to me? Tudor rose, Triskele (triple knot), owls, hedgehogs, Viking Runic Compass Do you read comics? No, but, I have always wanted to read the Sandman stuff and the From Hell comic. By nature are you a morning lark or a night owl? Morning lark What's your favorite type of music to hear live, rather than recorded? Classical, blues, and jazz Are you a soap addict? Yes. I blame it on the forum! Do you like kilts and would you wear one? Yes, I do and yes, I would! Some of my favorite places: Scotland, Massachusetts, Austin, York, Pawtuckaway, my parent's house in San Antonio, a secluded rocky beach on the coast of New Hampshire. What is one (only one) object that you collect, that totally goes against your personality or beliefs? Medieval religious art (icons). I am pagan, but, this art is so complex and often wonderfully done. I have prints all over the place. Purses? Love them. Especially ones with neat fabrics. Scarves? Love them! I have ones for all kinds of weather and I just like them because they are pretty. If you could design your own perfume oil, which notes would it have? It would definitely have ginger, tea, something woody, and something to give it a bit of freshness. Anyone here like pecan brittle? Not really, but, my husband does! What bpal didn't work on you? Zarita was too sweet and Inez went to plastic which just broke my heart (so weird because it had all the notes I LOVE). What chat/im capabilities do you have, or would you be able/willing to chat up your witch?? Gmail chat and AIM. If my witch wants, I will definitely chat. If you had one minute of fame, what would you say or do? Run like hell. I never want to be famous. Robots vs Zombies? Zombies because they are cooler than Robots. Do you have phobias? No, not really. Does fear of failure count? English candy/tea/marmite or other stuff that you love and can't easily get outside of England? Well, I live in England, so, not an issue for me. I miss a select few American food stuffs, though. Bandaids: do you like the fun and funky ones? Sure! How do you like your mix CDs? Random? Stuff you know you'll like? Random. I love being introduced to new music. And, secondly, what is something you've been searching for but just can't find? A really great winter hat. I have lots of hair, so, most of them tend to work their way into a weird dunce hat. Also, the ones I find that fit are generally too light and my head gets cold. I have a small head but LOTS of hair. The other thing is good veggie cookbooks. I have found a few, but, the meals aren't any healthier. I would love a veggie cookbook with healthy, tasty, and fun recipes. What kind of music (genres, please) do you like? I listen to all kinds of things. I love old folk (Phil Ochs) and new folk (Antje Duvecot, Kris Harmer, Great Lake Swimmers). Singer/songwriters are brilliant! Tori Amos is fabulous and in my top five of artists. Honestly, my tastes are all over the place. The only things I don't like are rap, death metal, and new R&B. However, I like jazz, blues, soul, reggae. Ella Fitzgerald is another in my top five! What kinds of eye shadows do we all like? I have a severe allergy to just about every eyeshadow on the market. Sad, but, true. Fanfic as a gift* - yay or nay? Your fandom? Slash preferences? I am not a fangirl of any particular thing, so, this wouldn't work for me. Do you like making up your SW packages around a theme, or prefer to mix it all up?: This is my first round, so, I have no idea! I might try for a theme and see how it goes. I have a feeling I may get carried away with getting all different kinds of things that my witchee likes! Would you rather get food or jewellery? Jewelry! I am trying to lose weight, so, lots of food would be a bad thing (unless it is good for me food or American Halloween candy-which will be rationed throughout the year). Tea, however, is a very good thing! How do people feel about receiving baked goods/kits to make said goods? Or other cooking items? Would you enjoy oil or vinegar flavored with herbs grown at home? Strange and exotic spices with recipes to try? Cookies made with carnation petals? Sounds awesome! I love to cook. I just need to get that pesky baking thing down.. Are you a Trekkie? If so, which series do you prefer? Do you have a favorite character? Nope. What are your pet's names, and what are they named for? - Three dogs. Buster- a medium sized black lab mastiff mix. He started life as my husband's dog, but, now he is my dog, too. He is named after another Buster who was hit by a car. He is old at the age of nearly 13. Marley is a Chihuahua who looks more like a deer than a dog with his brown color, skinny body, and long legs. He is named after Bob Marley because he used to run in circles and happily bark whenever I played Bob Marley. He is the middle child at the age of 6. Bailey is some sort of terrier mix and is the puppy at the age of 3. He is named after the bailey portion of a Motte and Bailey castle. The Bailey was often where the prison was and when I found my Bailey, he was locked inside a deserted apartment and inside a dog carrier with no food or water. He was only 3 months old. I rescued him and being the dorky medievalist that I am, named him Bailey. What's the scariest thing that's ever happened to you? When I thought for all of five minutes that my husband had been killed in a car crash. The car just happened to be the same model and share the same first three numbers of the licence plate. He was a mile and a half behind me, thankfully. How do you scent yourself? Do you layer soaps, moisturizers, etc. or do you go straight to slathering your bod with BPAL? I sometimes layer lotions and BPAL if I have ones that complement each other. I have also been know to slather myself with Villainess Ginger Snapped Whipped. The scent hangs around for awhile and I find it comforting. So much so that I have three jars of it for fear of running out! Other times, it is all BPAL and only BPAL. Do you/how do you scent your world? Candles, incense, diffusers, potpourri? None of the above? I really need things to scent my world with! When I still lived outside Boston, I used candles, incense, and room sprays. I have always wanted to get an oil burner and a reed diffuser. I have yet to get all that stuff since moving. I have been focused on the more practical like food, dog food, and getting my driving licence. BPAL is such a scent-ual experience. What are your other tactile, aural, or olfactory pleasures (I was going to say, "And let's keep it clean", but what's the use fun in that?!? I love soft fabric! Especially in blankets or throws that I can curl up under. I love music and it is on constantly. I love it when my husband plays with my hair or rubs my back because he has great hands and it is so relaxing. I adore the rain (which is good living in England). Both the sound and the smell. I also love the sound of snow (which I miss terribly). That quite hush that is an almost otherworldly sound. And of course, the smell of autumn can't be rivaled. I also love the feeling of my dogs snuggled against me. Warm paws and puppy snores are so great... If you drink coffee (and make it yourself) do you use a French Press, regular filter basket coffee maker, Espresso Machine, Percolator? If I drink it, it has to be French press or latte. I very rarely drink coffee because it can upset my stomach. I love the smell, though! What movie soundtracks (or scores) do you love? I love Broadway musicals! I know I have loads, but, can't think of any now. What kind of indulgences do you really really want, but can't seem to make yourself buy? Maybe out of character, or a part of yourself you're busy denying? Decorations for the house. Soft scarves and jewelry. Things for me that aren't "essential". Yes, I buy BPAL, but that is my one true indulgence. When I buy other stuff that I would love, I am generally buying it as a gift for a family member or friend (or witchee). I actually have a hard time buying nice stuff for myself. I even had to put it in my 101 goals in 1001 days to get me to do it (at the prodding of my husband). My questionnaire is chock-a-block with ideas for Witching me on the cheap, and without sending "stuff for stuff's sake". And I just came up with another one--make me a Pandora, Finetune, or Last.fm station you think I might like! What manner of affordable Witchery might you covet? Anything! I don't know what Pandora, Finetune, or Last.fm is, but, I am open to all manner of new things. I love homemade goodies! They are the most special. When I got my critter, I was overcome with joy for over a week because someone made something especially for me. It was so touching. And cheap things are great! I would never turn my nose up at lip balm, candy, post cards, etc. All of those things are wonderful! It is the thought that is so touching. Does your cell phone have a place to attach charms? No, it doesn't. My charm from Cyphersushi hangs from my handbag. Does the weather change where you are, as in, does it get cold in the winter? Anyone need homegrown scarves, hats, mittens, etc? Yes, it does change. Quite a bit and the cold here is so much worse than the cold found on a snowy Massachusetts winter day. Here, the cold is damp and it invades your body and your house. It is so hard to keep warm. So, fluffy warm scarves, hats, and mittens would always be appreciated. What is your favorite art movement and/or style? ie impressionist, surrealist, art nouveau, etc. Medieval, Celtic, Roman, and the more modern stuff I like would be Pre-Raphaelite. Waterhouse, Dante Rossetti, for example. Do you have a case for your mp3 player/digital camera? If you would want one, what size is your digital device? I do! It is awesome because it sticks it to the dashboard of my car. For tea drinkers, do you bag it or prefer loose No preference, really. I take my own tea to work, so, it is in bags there. At home, I use a variety of bags and loose. I have been buying more loose recently because the teas that sounded yummy were only available loose. Who are your forum buddies? People you know well enough online or IRL to help your Witch pick out stuff for you? I don't have loads as I am newish around here. I would say Cyphersushi because she stalked me during critter making, Gwenhyfar because we have chatted a bit, and Nekogrrl as we have emailed some. Flavored oils and vinegars? Exotic spices? Oh yes! I am a cooking fiend and spices are my friends! Favorite Halloween song? Monster Mash or anything from Rocky Horror. Alice in Wonderland? I enjoyed the book, but, I am not mad about it. How do you feel about having a donation made in your name to something? If you like that idea, what types of organizations/groups would you want the donation to go to? Sure! Anything animal related like Dogs Trust, RSPCA, MSPCA, Texas SPCA, etc. Or Plant-a-Tree type things would be awesome as well. Do you wear a watch? No, but, that is because I can never find one I love. I like the hippie cuff looking ones, but, the ones I find that are fantastic are also fantastically expensive. I don't do expensive.

    Penumbra

In the bottle: Sweet musk with slight herbiness lurking. Wet: Sweet musk. Where did the herbs go? I do like the smell of the musk though. It is lovely. Dry: Swoon! It has morphed into sweet musk swirling with herbs, a touch of fruit, and something slightly bitter rounding it all out. I don't know what that note is. Tobacco, perhaps? It is gorgeous! I love this! 45 minutes into wear: This just keeps getting better! The musk has increased and so has the fruit. I am definitely smelling pomegranate now and getting slight whiffs of lavender. My god this is a fantastic scent. The throw is perfect. Not too strong, but, not quite a skin scent either. 3 hours later: Still going strong. Still gorgeous. This is the best LE ever for me. It even beats out Mead Moon and I loved that. This is such a sexy, feminine scent. I adore it! I am so glad I ordered it and have already tracked down another bottle. Penumbra is

    Bengal

Another spicy scent in my last order. I tried this yesterday right before a brief trip to meet a visiting friend for coffee. In the imp: Chai. Mmmm, chai! Wet: Swirling spices dance around on my wrist. Bits of cinnamon (but not of the red hot variety), clove, ginger (I think). It smells so good! I adore spicy scents. I carefully watch my wrist for signs of welts. Cinnamon does that to my skin, but, Pickled Imp didn't, so I hang onto some hope. Dry: Honey comes to the surface and mixes in with the spices. I smell divine! When I went to meet my friend, I gave her a hug and she said, "What are you wearing? You smell lovely!" It lasted all day even in the hot, humid weather we are currently having. The throw was good. I like a small throw so I was pleased. My husband said he would get soft wafts of the scent when I would walk by. Perfect! It definitely smells like a good cup of Chai. I will wear it in the summer and in the winter. It isn't foody, in my opinion, which is good because I hate foody. Definitely a lovely spicy scent. Definitely a big bottle!

    Sudha Segara

This imp was in my last order. As I am a ginger fiend, I had to try it. In the imp: Just a light scent that was a bit fresh. Nothing distinguishing. I was stupid and spilled it all over me. Wet, it was sharp ginger with something lurking behind. I couldn't put my finger on it. Dry: It was a lovely creamy slightly sweetened ginger. It is lovely! Even with it spilled all over my arms, it is a light scent. Fresh, lingering, ginger, honey goodness. I really love this. It has faded a considerable amount since application an hour ago, which is sad. I think that if I hadn't spilled it all over me, it would be gone. However, I really love it and would love to be able to see how it ages. Not much left in the imp, but, I shall put it away and pull it out in a couple of months. If it has become even better, I will definitely be getting a bottle. I really love it.

    Pickled Imp

Disclaimer: I don't like foody scents, but, I do like spicy scents. Tested last night. In the imp: Smells like Shub. Not good because I surprisingly didn't like Shub because my chemistry destroyed it. Wet: Swirling cinnamon and clove. A hint of pine? Maybe? The cinnamon smells drier than usual. It isn't burning my skin, either. This could be good. So far, I like the smell. It is a bit foody and if this keeps up, I will have to swap my imp away. Dry: Vanilla, cinnamon, hints of clove, and something else grounding it all. It doesn't smell foody at all! Hurray! It is the perfect warm, yet, slightly sweet spice scent. The husband agreed whole-heartedly and really likes this one. The throw is good, but, not at all overwhelming. It was still there this morning when I got up. It had morphed into a creamy slightly spiced dark vanilla. Definitely getting a couple of bottles. I didn't expect this to work and I am more than pleasantly surprised.

    Shub-Niggurath

I included this in my last imp pack order. As I am a ginger fiend, I tried it first. It is really sharp in the vial, but, I think it will warm up once on the skin It smelled sooooo good on. It warmed up and turned into a spicy, rich, dark, and slightly twisted ginger! Mmmm....sexy and not foodie (thankfully!). Then the burning started! It must have cinnamon! I now have red welts all over my arms and my little heart is breaking. I know it isn't the ginger because I have so many ginger scents and wear it a lot. I might try it in a lotion, though. I have noticed if cinnamon is in soap or lotion form, I can do it. Oil form, not a chance.

    Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2006)

I broke down and bought a bottle of this unsniffed. I fully expected to not like it fresh (as many people had the same experience). I wasn't sure if I would like it at all, really. In the bottle, I picked up hints of fruit, but, mostly the patchouli. I like patchouli when it is a balancing note, but, I don't like it when it takes centre stage because I it gives me a headache. I carefully applied just a wee bit and Instant juicy red fruits with a woody dark tone lurking underneath. OMG, this is gorgeous! As it dried down, I was busy, so, not paying much attention. I was playing tug with the dogs, so, my body warmed up and the most amazing smell enveloped me. The lovely fruits, a musky veil, a woody undertone, and VANILLA! Dry, Mme. Moriarty is fantastic! Sultry! Gorgeous! And it just gets better with age? OMG, I MUST HAVE MORE!!!! Two bottles in my next order should do it.

    Cytherea

Thanks for decant, Tartchef! In the vial: Lovely vanilla and woody goodness. Wet: Mmmm. I smell like bourbon and vanilla. So nice. Dry: Skin chemistry! It turned sour and horrible. I am not sure what note did it, but, I have a feeling it may have been the orris because all the other notes are usually a great thing on me. I am so disappointed! I had such high hopes for this blend! Stupid skin chemistry!

    Boomslang

Thanks for the decant, nekogrrl!! In the bottle: That is a lot of sweet. I don't like most sweet things. Wet: The oil stains my skin and instantly, there is this sickly sweet smell wafting about me. I am definitely smelling the chocolate and nothing else. Drydown: As it dries, the overwhelming sweetness morphs into a dark chocolate (almost coffee bean) flavored spicy vanilla. It still smells a bit strange to me, but, it is growing on me. Dry: It took about 20 minutes to dry, but, once dry, it is a musky spiced vanilla coco. It sits VERY close to my skin, which I like. However, I don't think it is a snuggle scent as my husband really doesn't like it. I think that I like it, but, I am not quite sure. I think that I will try it again in a couple of weeks and see what I think.

    Western Diamondback

Thanks to nekogrrl for the decant!! Western Diamondback started out very promising. The sage was definitely there in the wet stage and I loved it. As it dried, the vanilla started to peak out and mix with the sage. It was really lovely. Unfortunately, once all the way dry, it turned into freshly oiled saddles. A rich leather. I love the smell of leather, but, I don't like the smell of leather on me, particularly. It went really, really masculine and the sage and vanilla disappeared. Oh well. Perhaps, I will try it on the husband.
