Fresh berries and greenery, with a little tiny bit of something warm and resiny underneath. There's some amber here, I think, in the drydown stage. Slightly fruity, slightly earthy, slightly woody, entirely yummy. It's not as "bright" a berry as Wolf Moon or Bewitched, in my opinion; it's more subdued, deep forest berries - hard to find, but worth it.

Wow, that is some orchid! And, yes, I smell ylang ylang too, which gives the super sweet orchid some sharpness. It comes on insanely strong, but fades to a lovely soft warm floral pretty quickly - within 15 minutes or so, on my skin. On a personal note, it kind of reminds me of my grandmother - not in an "ewwww! old lady smell!" kind of way, though. When she was in her 50s and 60s, my grandmother was a woman of adventure, taking many trips every year to exotic locations - Hawaii, Tahiti, the Alps, Africa...this reminds me of the way she smelled then, completely confident, feminine, adventurous, and a little wild...but still my grandmother. Exotically comforting, if that makes any sense.

This is lovely. It's similar to Persephone without the tart pomegranate, all sweet roses and wine, with the glowing red richness of dragon's blood to round it out.

Unusual and lovely! This is a light, fresh, herby green scent. It is similar to peony, with maybe a little bit of fruity roseyiness. It had a very strong soapy wet stage on my skin, but once it dried, I kept putting my wrist to my nose to huff in the scent. I don't think I'll need a whole bottle of it, but I will enjoy my imp.

Lovely bright blood orange is the top note, and it's a strong one. This is what I hope Kunstkammer would smell like. The orange fades, as do all citrusy scents, but what replaces it is so delicious, I don't mind at all. The drydown is a warm, sweet blend of tonka, amber, and vanilla, and I just adore it.

Clean, sweet florals. The phlox give this blend a spingtime feel. It's a little like a pale, fresh version of Pink Moon. I'm not getting any tuberose at all, but I can smell a tiny bit of carnation, which keeps this from going into sweet floral overload. There's a hint of the musk coming through as it dries, but I would agree that this is a light blend (although it smelled quite strong in the bottle to me). I think this is the same "skin musk" from Buck Moon. Quite lovely, calming and fresh. I did use a small dab, so it's possible this is a lot stronger when more is applied.

Cinnamon and nutmeg! Cloves! Eeee! So delicious and wonderfully spicy. I've recently embarked on a love affair with all things clove, and this is the perfect addition to my hoard of clove scents. There's a little sweet fruitiness to the blend, also (the pumpkin and apples, I presume) but they don't come close to the fantastic warm spice on my skin. The patchouli lingers in the backgroung for a good long time. Mmmmm. Plus, look how cute the label is!

I love O, but Haunted was not something good on my skin. The musk just went all...icky. I also don't think they are at all similar.

Baghdad does seem to be a bit of a morpher, as far as scent goes - one week it will smell very much like bergamot and the next very much like roses. Then spicy wood! So it could just be that you got imps from different batches or from a bottle that was not well mixed, or different imps from differently aged bottles. I have a bottle of Baghdad fresh from the lab (well, maybe a month or so old), and I could decant a fourth or a half an imp to send you for comparison purposes, if you want. Oh man. In the bottle, this is baby powder. Pure baby powder. It's a little scary. But! Once on the skin, it really explodes. Flowers! Flowers everywhere...roses and jasmine and honeysuckle and lily and magnolia and omgflowers! But it's not just flowers. There's something else lurking in there, something sweet and seductive and dark. Maybe a little musk, maybe a little vanilla. Some amber, I think, too. Something warm and desirable that makes you want to move in close, close your eyes, and take a deep, deep breath. It took me a few tries to warm up to Beatrice, but once I did, I was a goner. She's gorgeous and beguiling.

Oh man, Harvest Moon...it's just....it's so goooooooood! And so well blended that I can barely pick out notes. It's sweet - apples and berries sweet, with cinnamon and nutmeg spicey hints. There's a wine note, but it's not sour or overly grapey, it's a perfectly mulled red wine. And then there's just a hint of dry leaves. It's perfectly, gorgeously fall, without being at all typically "fall" scented. So many people are going to go insane for this.

Man, Satan is smelling really fine these days, between this and Al-Shairan. At first this is all clean, fresh fresh lavander. Really nice. But for those who dislike lavander, don't run in fear! The lavander fades quickly into a swirl of tonka and amber. Absoultely cozy and warming. As it matures on my skin, the amber lingers and blends beautifully with the softness of the rosewood. The patchouli is very unobtrusive, and really only provides a warm base for the other scents. If Hell smells as good as Old Scratch and Al-Shairan, I need to start sinning a lot more.

Wicked, hot, spicy peaches. The patchouli and incense make a dark, swirling base, and the clove and cinnamon (ha! I typed "sinnamon" first) provide a naughty kick that compliments the sweetness of the fruit. Very, very tempting indeed.

So sad! I loved this blend in the imp - it was perfectly woody and delicious. But once on my skin it turned into a scent identical to something my dad used to wear. Great for a man, but a little too Freudian for me, so it's off to swaps.

Apple. Apple apple apple apple apple. Then there was some apple. The drydown? Apple. If apple is your thing, you so need this.

Soft, clean, powdery, almost metallic violets. Sooooo not me. But happily, my bottle is going to live in Australia with a floral girl, so hopefully she will love it.

I would like to announce my undying, eternal love for Bengal. We are going to have 1000 clove and nutmeg and honey scented babies and live happily ever after, amen. This is my new OMFG scent, and I want to bathe in it. In the imp, it smells like honey with a little tea, but once on the skin it just blooms into fantastic spicy gorgeousness. Cinnamon! Cloves! Nutmeg! Pepper! Sugar! Ginger! And the honey just simmers underneath it all, sweet and thick - my mouth literally watered when I put this on, y'all.

Whoa, in the imp, this smells just like orangey bubble gum. Or sweet-tarts. Something bright and candy-esque, but with a twist to it. When I first put it on, I was all, "Uh. I don't think so!" but it kind of grew on me. It's a happy, sunny scent, with a little bit of shadow to it. It's kind of deceptive, as you think it's all sweet candy, but the darkness sneaks up on you.

I got a frimp of this in my last order, and I'd been wanting to try it, so thanks Labbies! This reminds me in some ways of Gypsy Queen - it has several of the same notes - but it is much drier and cooler feeling. It's lighter on the incense and rose, and heavier on the woodiness, myrrh, and benzoin. It sort of feels like a more manly companion scent. In the imp, it's sweet and dry, almost like a fine wine. On the skin, the sandalwood and moss are most prevelant to me me, and are very dry and masculine. But then the myrrh comes in, very strongly, followed quickly by the rose and just a hint of incense. It mellows into a sweet rose and benzoin(benzoin is quickly becoming a favorite of mine), and lingers close to the skin. I absolutely love the dry stage of this perfume! Despite my use of masculine terms to describe it, I think this blend works well as a unisex perfume, and I'm thinking about getting a bottle.

I swapped an imp of Gypsy Queen to VelvetSky for this one, and wow, am I glad I did. It's amazingly gorgeous, and brings back some really vivid memories for me. First off, this reminded me of being very young and going to the Russian Orthodox church with my grandparents. My parents didn't raise us as Christian, but we were allowed to go to church with the grandparents now and then, and I loved going to church with my grandma. This smells so much like the incense and candles that permeate the Russian Orthodox church. It brings me right back to my grandmother telling me to light the candle carefully, say a prayer and kiss the icon. Wonderful. On a less personal note, this actually reminds me of a more solemn and pious Gypsy Queen. There's the incense note, the lovely rose, the myrrh - both evoke a strong sense of mystery, but it's a different type of mystery. I'm so pleased that I got a chance to try them both, and should this ever come back, I'll certainly be buying a full bottle.

This is the dead of winter, the year’s dark hibernation, the crystalline silence of the depths of the world’s darkness. It bears echoes of the time before time, of primordial gloom. This Moon harbors memories of man’s life before fire. I got this as a freebie imp in a swap with VelvetSky. Thanks love! Wow, who knew wolves were so...sweet? Hee. This starts off as a cool, fresh, bright aquatic berry scent with the lightest hint of muskiness on me, and stays very true to that first impression. This is not a summer berry fruit scent, though. It's a winter berry, unexpectedly vivid and shining in the snow. There's something about it, though...a feeling of watchfulness, of stillness to it. It's almost disturbing, but not quite. Very interesting.

This is like, the ultimate dirty hippie smell. Which is a good thing, at least in my world. In the imp, this was sharp cinnamon and patchouli. Interesting. On my skin, the cinnamon vanishes, and is replaced by strongly strong cedarwood. Like, Anne Bonny on steroids strong. The patchouli sticks around, too, and the vetiver peeks in from time to time. This is an unapologetically earthy, woody scent, and I think it would be fantastic on either a woman or a man, although the notes are more traditionally masculine. I'm going to hang onto my imp and see if I need a bottle when the weather cools a bit, as I think it's too much for 90+ degree heat. I bet it's awesomely warming in the fall, though.

This is such an interesting thread to read - so many different reactions! Oh yum. On my skin, this was a cherry chocolate candy buzz at first, which kind of made me go "uh, hold on a sec here," but while I was sitting waiting for it to dry and get on with the rest of the scent experience, I kept smelling this cloud of wonderfullness. I thought it was either the perfume on my other wrist or a slightly open 5 ml of something on the desk, but no! It was Queen! And she was delicious. Sweet, warm vanilla smoke with a tinge of peppery bite. Not incensey smoke, or tobacco smoke, but a kind of dense fog of scent. It's sexy and strong and seriously makes me feel like...well, a Queen. The Queen of All, even. I'm almost afraid of my own self while wearing this, it makes me feel so dominant and powerful. I need a bottle of this.

Wow. Wow. This is some yummy stuff, y'all. In the bottle it's kind of a bitter cocoa/fig scent, which is almost offputting. I mean, fig and cocoa? It sounds like something your grandma would make you try for dessert ("It's a dessert and a digestive!"). But the vanilla and pomegrante intervene, smoothing things over, and making it into a rich, heady, delicious blend. The tonka makes it last and last, too. It's a dark scent, but not overwhelmingly so. It didn't have a lot of throw on my skin - it stays close to me, intimate and warm. Really, really lovely.

On me, this was Snake Oil's twin sister. Fraternal twins, not identical, but still so similar. In the bottle, it was fruitier and sharper, but once on the skin, it had the same blend of spices that makes Snake Oil so sexy. There's a warm, amber-vanilla sweetness underneath it all, too. As it dries on the skin, the incensey smell of Snake Oil rises up out of it, but then it shifts away from the similarities with Snake Oil. The coconut comes out, with a waft of deeper, darker fruits. It sounds so foody, but it's not, it's too well blended to be purely foody. This is Snake Oil on vacation, someplace warm and sultry, where no one knows her, so she's free to do whatever she wants. And she wants to enjoy herself. (I put this on a few hours before bed last night to test it. I kept waking up, smelling this fantastically delicious woman in my bed...and it was me. )
