I, like a few others I see, didn't smell florals AT ALL at first sniff from the imp. It just smelled like delicious berries. Perhaps a sober Lady Macbeth. It smelled goooood. Wet, that smell was the same. It's now been a few hours and I can smell the flowers now. But I still smell something sweeter, and I swear I can smell berries. Grapes or cherries maybe? But now that it's dry, I can also smell the "dusty woods". And I liiiike it. I received this as a frimp, and I don't normally like florals because I generally just find them over-powering. But I really like this one! Whatever that berry smell I'm getting coupled with the dusty woods makes it a pretty chill scent on me. And I can smell something incense-y floating around as well, which I am a fan of!

In the imp, this is one of the best smelling things my nose has ever experienced. I love chocolate, but so far this is the first BPAL with a chocolate note that I have actually liked the smell of in the imp/bottle. Buuuut, I majorly amp cedar. Like major major. I smell like a walking forest right now. If I sniff really deeply (which is honestly a little painful with all that cedar), I can smell the mint lurking beneath. I only applied about an hour ago, so I'm hoping it mellows out a little bit. Right now it's a bit too much cedar for me.

I really liked the smell of this in the imp - I felt like I could pick out a lot of the notes individually and it smelled pretty darn good. But then I put it on. Once it dried, it became this slightly chaotic blend that reminded me of my grandmother's perfume. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but not something I really want to smell like. I'm definitely going to hang on to my imp and try it again at some point, but my first go-round didn't go quite as well as anticipated.

Mmmmm I love this. It's just like candy on me. I don't really get the patchouli or the musk at all. I just smell very sweet citrus. It actually kind of reminds me of Treat #1 - it smells very much like candy to me. But Treat #1 goes to instant soap on my skin, whereas Croquet stays lovely and makes me want to keep sniffing myself, which is always a good sign.

I've been BPAL-ing for just over a year now, so it's definitely time for some Snake Oil. No, I don't know why it took me so long. And yes, it is amazing. I want to just lick my wrist when I wear it. And, the first day I wore it out, I was with a friend of mine who said, "Oooh, I just got a whiff of your perfume. What's the company called again? I think I may need to order a bottle." SUCCESS! Thank you Snake Oil. I love you.

I just really wish that this scent would stick around on my skin! In the imp, it's so crisp and lovely. The apples smell so juicy, and I don't know what that twilight mist is, but it's mysterious and adds to the scent so much. And it still smells virtually the same on my skin. But it's gone within like 20 minutes. I kept taking such deep sniffs of my wrists at work that my co-workers probably think I'm mental, but it was BARELY there. So sad! I'm sure I'll use up my imp in a hurry, but probably won't invest in a bottle. I wish it stuck around longer, but it's so barely there.

I just ordered me an imp pack and Miskatonic U was on the list of "this intrigues me, so I must sniff it." Cracking open the imp, it's like WHAM! IRISH COFFEE IN YOUR FAAAACE! Quite possibly one of the strongest smells out of the imp I have experienced so far in BPAL-land. So I put a bit on my wrists, and this happens to me... And I HATE popcorn. The smell of it makes me want to puke, and I gag when I accidentally eat a popcorn Jelly Belly. But I just let it be and walked to work, and by the time I got there (30 mins) it had totally chilled out and I could smell the polished oak underneath the irish coffee. It has now been 6.5 hours since I applied it (and I didn't apply very much of it), and I can still smell it on me without making the effort to sniff myself. And it smells lovely. I have the feeling that I'm going to breaking this one out a lot during the very rainy days I'm sure are just ahead

Irrelevant and Disturbing Surreal Crawdad Dream

In the bottle, HELLO BLUEBERRIES. It smells amazing, but not something I would ever think to wear as a perfume. Wet, this smells like fresh warm blueberry pie. But I can smell the red currant and the ginger coming in too. It's very light and pretty. Something weird happened with me though, a few hours into it. Suddenly I was wondering what smelled so strongly of baby powder, and then I realized it was me! That's a scent I really don't like, so I was pretty sad to be smelling it. It's 21 hours and 1 shower later and I still smell it! Obviously not nearly as strong as when I first put it on, but this one has some amazing staying power. I casually put some on when I first got the imp and I don't remember smelling any baby powder then, so hopefully my chemistry was just a bit out of whack yesterday, because this one has the potential to be one of my favourites! -
In the bottle, this smells AMAZING. Fruity and sugary, like a summer day when you're a kid. Unfortunately, on my skin it turns pretty soapy quite quickly. It still smells GOOD, but...like soap. Like Body Shop fruit-flavoured soap. I still like it, but I wish that it smelled as amazing on my skin as it does in the bottle.

I wasn't entirely sure about this one on first sniff from the bottle...all I could really smell was the frankincense and the musk. Wet on the skin, this was absolutely delicious. The cinnamon note was the most prominent, but it was more sweet than spicy. It smelled really great on my skin. Dry, it's still quite nice. The cinnamon has faded pretty much completely and the frankincense and bay rum are the top notes here. It's not super cologne-y on me though, the geranium is still prominent! Overall, I'd say it's a very pretty scent, but not coquette-ish...that probably makes no sense, but I really think that this scent would probably work beautifully on both men and women! I kinda wish that it smelled the same dry as it did wet on me, because that was absolutely gorgeous, but it's still quite nice!
