    Yggdrasil

Imp: Really nice woodsy scent. Wet: Smells like woods and snow. I like this. Drydown: A very rich woodsy scent. Not my usual thing, but I find I can't stop sniffing it.

    Manhattan

Imp: Lemon, grapefruit and a bit of teakwood. Bright! Wet: Some of the mint has come out and is tempering the brightness, but none of the tea or leather is around. Boo. Drydown: This ends up with a ton of amber and tea, still no leather, but I quite like it.

    All Night Long

Imp: Something musky and spicy. Yay! Wet: It smells like spicy dirt. And yet I like it. Drydown: Less spice, but deep earthy-ness. Not sure how sexy I feel, but I like the scent well enough to keep it around.

    Queen Mab

mp: Orchid and sandalwood dominate, but I can pick out some musk underneath and a hint of jasmine. Very pretty but probably not for me. Wet: I can still smell the sandalwood, but something has gone all plasticky. Drydown: Indistinguishable floral notes. Not me, but pretty and the plasticky went away.

    Blood Countess

Imp: It actually does smell largely of dead roses, which I kind of like, I can also pick out the plum and berry notes. Nice in the imp. Wet: Wow. This has gotten darkly sweet, more dead roses but also the black plum. Kind of smells like...rotting or maybe dried flowers, but in a good, sweet way. Drydown: Oh man, I love this. It stays the same as the wet stage, has decent throw and staying power, and is just really nice and different.

    Ladon

Imp: Smells like freshly cut apples and an undertone of hyacinth. Pretty! Prettiest dragon ever! Wet: the apple blossom and hyacinth dwarf everything else and make this more floral than I like. Drydown: Mostly floral, with some apple sweetness still around. Still a pretty scent for a dragon, but will probably work better for someone else.

    Debauchery

Imp: tons of civet and musk. No opium in the imp so far. Wet: Musky, dirty....it smells like a female college friend's room, actually. Totally reminds me of debauchery and sensuality. Drydown: This is a really nice dark musky smell that definitely reminds me of sex. However, I could only get away with wearing it in certain situations.

    Eve

The spirit of temptation, the essence of lost innocence. Apple blossom, rose, ylang ylang and golden honey. Imp: Rose, with a tinge of apple. Drat. Wet: Hm, more apple, but still too much rose. Yet it isn't as horrid, due the apple. No honey. Drydown: Rose-scented soap. Unsurprising.

    Intrigue

Bottle: Prominent cocoa with some fig thrown in, with an underlying something that I can only describe as sweet darkness and which I think might be the combination of the palm and wooded notes. Lovely and rich and complex. Wet: Wonderful cocoa and fig, with woody undertones. This is one of my favorite scents. The cocoa and fig predominate without it smelling foodie. Drydown: Doesn't really change at all from the wet stage. Also lasts a long, long time.

    Laudanum

Imp: Something high and sharp, almost medicinal but not unpleasantly so. Can't really pick out individual notes. Wet: Oooh. Something dark and smoky that I didn't get at all in the imp, maybe the myrrh? Unexpected and pleasant. Drydown: Rich and earthy smell. What I wished Samhainophobia had smelled like on me. Reminds me of the movie Tombstone. Unusual, but I like it!

    Black Hellebore

Imp: I can smell the sharp herbal-ness, but I can also pick up the peony smell underneath, and something darker underneath that. Interesting. Wet: The peony has amped up and I can detect a little rose, but this is still mostly herbal. Herbal usually doesn't do well on me but I think the peony is helping. Drydown: Soft and pretty peony smell, with an herbal undertone. Not me, but pleasant.

    Lyonesse

Imp: Musk, ambergris, and a little sandalwood and vanilla. Wet: More of the vanilla. This is pretty. Drydown: Warm vanilla. Very nice, but not as complex as I would like.

    Hemlock

Imp: Ugh. Vick's VapoRub. Wet: Same. Not sure I can stand this enough for a drydown. Drydown: Nope. Had to wash it off, but I'm pretty sure it would have stayed the same.

    Chanukkiyah

Bottle: fig, pomegranate and something really sweet. Nice! Wet: Sweet but not cloying. Still the fig and pomegranate, and some olive oil to temper it. Drydown: The amber comes out of hiding a little bit towards the end, but still fig and pomegranate and olive oil dominate. I really like this.

    The Hesperides

Imp: OOh. Oak and apple. Nice. Wet: Omg, This is gorgeous. It smells like an apple orchard. Not foody, just clean outdoor apple orchard smell. I love it. A little smoky too! Drydown: This is just beautiful, crisp apple scent and smokiness.

    The Raven

Imp: It smells exactly like a shampoo I used to use...I think possibly something by Suave. Wet: Wow. Soapy. I think violet goes soapy on me like rose. Drydown: Floral soap. Meh.

    Budding Moon

Budding Moon shines as Spring moves with its first breath, and this scent expresses that burst of life-affirming joy through an olfactory interpretation of Huang Quan’s flower-and-bird paintings. Plum blossom, peony, lotus root, Chinese musk and a hint of white ginger. Bottle: delicate notes of plum blossom and peony, with an undercurrent of musk. Nicer than I remembered. Wet: Becomes a bit richer, maybe more of the musk and ginger, but still very floral without being too sweet. A good reminder of spring. Drydown: One of the reasons I'm doing this enormous review project is to find things I want to sell. The other is to remember the ones I haven't used in ages that I really, really like. Man, Budding Moon is pretty. I like the Asian florals so much more than the others, and they don't smell too girly or too light on me. This one is soft, yet rich. The musk grounds the florals and the ginger, which finally made an appearance, keeps things a little interesting.

    Blood Rose

Imp: Red wine like whoa. Hm. If it stays that way, this might not be too bad. I can't even smell the rose. Wet: Oh. Hello soapy rose smell. Mostly covering the wine now. Drydown: Could it be? A rose scent that isn't horrid on me? The wine amped back up and kept the rose from being soapy. I love the wine smell, which I don't get at all when I tried Lady MacBeth. Hmm. Going to give this imp another try.

    Odin

Imp: An interesting combination of sweet-dirty-musky. Wet: Musky and dirty, less of the sweet. Quite masculine, but pleasantly so. Drydown: Dark and musky. Not unpleasant, but not something I'm particularly excited about. May have the boy try it.

    Shattered

Imp: Sharp and delicate. It is what glass would smell like if it smelled like anything. Grapefruit and mint, with something sharp and tingly that might be the champagne. Wet: More mint then before. I've had this awhile and it has gotten more minty with age. Still plenty of grapefruit. Drydown: Minty grapefruit goodness. This is maybe the only aquatic-note scent I can wear, and I quite like it.

    Pumpkin III (2007)

Bottle: Creamy pumpkin and pomegranate. The white chocolate smells like regular chocolate and is a little faint. Wet: PUMPKIN! and creamy chocolate. Not so much pomegranate now, which is sad. Drydown:More pomegranate towards the end, but mostly creamy pumpkin and chocolate. Gorgeous, but with crazy amounts of throw and staying power. A little goes a very long way.

    Lick It One More Time

Every holiday season should be full of lewd suggestions and filthy double entendres, right? This is a new take on Lick It and Lick It Again -- a peppermint candy cane with a flash of vanilla and an extra jolt of sugar. Imp: Mmmm. Smells like those really good, thick sugary candy canes you can get around the winter holidays. Wet: Such a lovely cool peppermint smell. Wish I had more of it to wear in the hot months. Drydown: A very nice peppermint smell remains. I do love how cool it makes me feel to smell it.

    Bliss

Imp: A Hershey Kiss. Seriously. This smells exactly like milk chocolate. Wet: Yummy milk chocolate. I smell like hot chocolate! Has really good throw, too. Drydown: Pure delicious milk chocolate. I love this scent!

    Glowing Vulva at Ryogoku Bridge

Imp: Creamy amber. Nice. Wet: tons more of the teak and lotus blossom. Very little of the cream. Drydown: Oh man. The amber comes back out and this is just gorgeous. Smells more like a commercial perfume than most things I pick, but it is soooo pretty. But so faint. Damn. I'm going to have to get a bottle, I think. Well, it'll be interesting when someone asks me what I'm wearing! ETA: Never mind on that bottle. I slathered it on the next day and it completely disappeared two hours later. Drat.

The Dream of the Fisherman's Wife

Imp:Minty oceany goodness. It really smells like someone eating mint candies near the ocean. I like it. Wet: Still minty, but in danger of being minty soap. A bit of the ocean smell is still there. Drydown: Very pretty minty soap. Swapping it.
