I had high hopes for Marshmallow Poof since I love those sugary scents. Sadly, this one went the plastic-playdoh route on my chemistry. *sulk*

In the bottle: rich and buttery. (BTW - "butter beer" would be an awesome fragrance, though I suppose there might be licensing issues depending on what it was named). On the skin: sweet, a little bit spicy, sort of chocolate-y, more like Bliss (Candy Butcher unfortunately turned plastic on me). Divine. This lasts for an hour or so, and then the pomegranate appears and takes over. It's like two fragrances for the price of one! Love it love it love it!

In the bottle, this is wonderful caramel / cocoa. A foodie scent lover's dream! On my skin - the caramel / cocoa let the cherries come out and play for a bit. But then: the musk. Definitely smelled like a little furry critter. Oh musk, please mellow out and let the sweets come back! It keeps smelling like a pet store almost. Not sure this is going to work for me. As always, I'll let it age and try it again a couple of times, but I sure wish the caramel had triumphed over the musk.

The cinnamon really dominates on me, this is very similar to Devil's Night. I think I'll age it and see what happens.

Kind of minty. Sweet, floral. Maybe violet? Perhaps the same mint component from Ultraviolet (which I love). A little powdery, but not unpleasantly so. Not a lot of throw. It's very intriguing and complex. My nose has been stuck to my wrists !

Mmmm, sweet - like a quality hard candy - it's so much more complex than that though. Sweet and smokey with the tang of grapefruit coming through. I've had this since it was released and I feel like I'm only now just getting to know its depths and richness.

A refreshing scent! GET IT?! Aloe, white musk, lime peel, fresh mint, seaspray, verbena and green tea. I love so many of the notes in this - green tea, mint, aloe - but I think the seaspray is making it go a bit household-cleaning-product on me. Yet I can't bring myself to part with this, I keep trying it, sniffing from the bottle, wearing it...I like the notes under the seaspray, but the salt is warping it on me somehow.

This year has been a real whirlwind for me, so when I saw the Lab's description of ELF, I knew it would be perfect. It is. It's a sweet, floral scent, maybe a tiny bit citrus-y, and it is wonderful for lifting the spirits. Very optimistic. A perfect late summer scent!

Salty. Very salty. Have you ever smelled that expensive French grey salt - I think it's called Fleur du Sal, or something like that? That's what this reminds me of. It's like none of the other aquatics I've sampled. The flowers just barely peek out. As others have said, the Lab description is spot-on. ETA: The second time I tried this, it reminded me of dryer sheets.

Normally I'm not artsy and emotional when reviewing. But Mouse is different. When I opened the bottle, I immediately felt wistful. Interesting. It's a wonderful vanilla. Reminiscent of Antique Lace, but the blend of ambers and the sweet pea - charming comes to mind. Yes. It's a charming, sweet, wistful scent. Turning a bit powdery, I've had it on for about 15 minutes - but it's apleasant powder, not at all generic. A wonderful blend of notes. mmmmm - in short, lovely. ETA - The more I wear this, the more Mouse's reminds me of Bearded Lady - the floral note in Mouse's is more subdued though. Also, on me this has a pretty good throw - the guy at the post office noticed and complimented me on my fragrance.

I don't get any cake - it's all currants. In the bottle, it smells a bit like a new age hippie store - some sort of incense. It's nice, but I'm into foodie scents right now and wish I was getting more cake.

Mmmmm! To me, not as sugary as, say, Pink Moon, but sweet, faintly buttery in the bottle. On my skin, it quickly turns to a rich, smokey cinnamon. Really lovely, fall is my favorite time of year and this captures some of the nicest scents of the season. Decent staying power, too. I'm glad this one came my way!

Sugar Cookie 2005, oh how I love thee - I fell for Tutti Dolci from Bath & Body works after Christmas (I only go there when they have their semi-annual sales). Got an imp of this and fell hard! In the bottle - rum, butter - reminds me of Bacardi rum cake. Dries to sugar, butter, and booze. Yum! And as great as this is straight from the bottle, it's even better made into a perfume spray.

Rose is my all-time favorite scent. Before I found BPAL, I had to content myself with Tea Rose by Perfumer's Workshop. It was okay, but had a bit of a chemical undertone. Not so with Rose Red. It's amazingly accurate with it's rosey-ness. There's a bit of sweetness underneath it all, but it's all rose. A good winter rose, I think of London as my summer rose.

My guy is not much into cologne. At first this was okay by me - after all, I almost get a headache walking through the men's fragrance counter at the department stores. Then I got hooked on BPAL, and wanted to find something special for him. Dee is it! It's a great blend of leather and books and a bit of spice - not overpowering, very complex. And he likes it too!
