I thought I'd try this as I adore cocoa...also, the French vanilla bourbon sounds great; I hate birch tar, lavender, vetiver, wild musk, and I don't know about the clary sage and cistus. Impression: Beautiful cocoa; a touch sharper than velvet or gelt...while I wouldn't buy a bottle because I get great cocoa tones from other scents, this is definitely a nice smell...

I like Snake Oil and I'd love to see the acai berry, amber, cardamom, neroli, and smoked vanilla peek through... Impression: hmmmm. ...it's ok; amber and vanilla mostly; pretty ho hum

I love love love almond milk, sarsaparilla, and tobacco smoke, but I usually hate any patchouli and pine scents... Impression: mmm; smooth and creamy; almonds? No bark or patch...yay! OK, it's five minutes later and I'm swooning...I must get a bottle of this!

I like Earl Grey tea leaves and vanilla bean but I hate jasmine leaf...pearlescent white musk I can deal with but what exactly is a white fougere? Impession: not horrible, but something strange; juicy; sour?

Hmmm...I don't know about Jasmine sambac, dark musk, or violet water, but I like vanilla bean and mimosa. Impression: Gag; is it the jasmine? Flowers…getting more sour by the second...

Of course I'm drawn to this for the storyline; I myself am an illustrated woman with halfsleeved arms, etc, so I thought this would be right up my alley...but then I looked at the notes... I like Skin musk, smoky vanilla, golden honey, and tobacco, but I despise pine pitch, patchouli, and I think the Indian resins. Impession: oh gag; the three notes I hate are overpowering anything salvagable in this scent; sad for me

I'm OK with White amber; I like vanilla musk, white tea; can't really tell what ambergris ever really smells like, so I'll flow with it; I hate gardenia, and I'm not sure about chrome. Wow; bright; clean; ck51! Hmmm...I might get a bottle of this; it's not a scent I'd normally wear (I'm a foodie), but I really love the memories and association I get with this and CK51...perfect for summer, I think

With 317 reviews and lots of talk on the CD thread, I thought I should sample the fortune teller myself... I know that I like vanilla bean, pomegranate wild plum, but I don't like Red musk, patchouli leaf. Impression: Medicine; eucalyptus; not good Laydown: medicine smell is fading, but I still don't quite get the fuss; ah well, such is the fun of BPAL scents

There is something bitter in here, like molassess...

EW; mossy and woodsey...

pretty, sweet, sugary, and pink; a nice smell

Milk, honey, and grape; tends to go a bit sour; grape milk isn't such a good thing...

I love this; honey and grains, like a true mead...golden and warm and sweet; love it!

Wet: Interesting; at first it's not my scent, but I'm drawn to it, nonetheless; it's the black orchid and blue musk, perhaps? smells like the mystery of darkness or nighttime... Something about it reminds me of my mom...

Wet: hmmm..citrusy; kind of like kitchen cleaner, but a bit softer; maybe like a kitchen airfreshener from a high end boutique?

The honey is beautiful but overpowered by the gardenia... wet: the floral is starting to laydown and the honey is coming through

Imp: kind of creamy milk, but mostly a sweet white floral... Wet: ew; that floral is starting to go sour; perhaps bc of the milk? drydown: hmmm; it's starting to calm down; kind of like honeysuckle milk...

Imp: hmmm...clean...grainy...been aged five years, so... Wet: still clean, but not like soap; definitely wheaty or grainy or, bucky, I guess Drydown: kind of sweet and creamy grain...hmmm..kind of like it

Imp: Plummy, musky, and flowery...soft...pink... Wet: way too girlie; very feminine and flowery

Imp: Very strong; a touch masculine; definitely smells aquatic... Wet: aquatic and soapy... Drydown: not a keeper; I don't like aquatic soap smells...
