hm. I get the incense and musk & little else. I thought it might work well this week, but I was mistaken. Oh well, I'll have to retry later & see if I can get the coconut & honey others are getting.
-
Well - it's RMW, but I couldn't resist trying this one as soon as I got it! (well, that and the BPTP Oceans of Love & Millions of Kisses). It's an herbal honey in the bottle, but then turns into honeyed pencil shavings next. Which isn't necessarily bad, just strange... I will have to retest it in a week... .)

Very buttery and soft applied. Smooth and spicy in the middle. hm. Wonder how it lasts? Very pretty!

WOW - so nutty & nice in the imp. On, again, I smell a bit of clove/cinnamon like others, and the coffee/butter comes out now too. I haven't gotten into any of the pumpkins - but this is a nice one to start with. yes - very similar to the 13 blend from February '09! mmm, tasty!

OK - so out of the bottle I was all OMG Bubblegum. do.not.want. Then 5 minutes later I was all "WTH - I didn't use any Lush American Cream this morning" Then I sniffed my wrist. Yup - American Cream. Strange. Must be the benzoin is amping. No orange, no cream. weird.
-
Such a nice, light bath oil. I use them at the end of my showers - for a bit of scent and moisturizer. It goes so nicely with Lush's Seanik and Rub, Rub, Rub. Not overwhelming, just right!
-
Very light scent - not hard to smell, but delicate and soft. Very mandarin on the initial apply, but it settles into an herbal lilac. Very pretty!
-
A very sharp, but creamy orange in the bottle, hints of the amber come out on the skin. Very nice late summer scent - perfect for today. I paired it with Indendia - the oranges play pretty well together!
-
OMG! It's like sweet, creamy honey! So lovely! Must seek out more! LOVE it!

OK - a wonderful lady (or ladies?) picked this out for me. They smelled honey in the bottle & figured that's GC! In the bottle, it's a sweet floral, an undertone of maybe beeswax that is vaguely honeyish... on the skin, yes, it's a bit soapy - frothy if that makes sense - and perhaps it is the sweet pea that's turning it for me too. hm - interesting, we'll see if it's a keeper though.
-
Yes, I definitely get the rain/aquatic note, but then the flowers come out to play. I get white flowers from it - I wish it were a bit more complex - but it's nice!

Honey musk, green tea leaf, blackberry leaf, vanilla bean, and fae spices. Beautiful scent - so evocative of the character and mood of Stardust! (As I sniffed myself on the way to work I had to wonder, yet again, how DOES Beth do that?!?) Sweet ripe vanilla with green leaves sticking out, the honey makes it candy-like - but in a good way. Tramp gave me a wee decant of it and, as usual, she's right - it's a winner!
-
hmm - this was the scent that Tramp kept wearing & making me sniff her (orange) wrists. At first I was put off, then I got some of my own. Its sultry & soft, wanton yet subtle - a delicious combination of notes. It's lovely when mixed with others - my ultimate favorite derivant is Lilith Victoria! It's also always a perfect scent to reach for during RMW.
-
OK - in the bottle all I got was tart currents - I couldn't even smell the honey. But on (I used it in the shower this morning onmy legs) the current is cut by the honey & the scent is complex without complexity. I think it will need another try!
-
OK - I'm new at this, but have to review it! It was on my "must-buy" list due to the honey - I LOVE the lab's honey! It's such a rich scent - the berries & current (especially to me) standing out. But there is a bit of spiciness that's tamed by the golden amber. I can't stop huffing my wrist - everything is one but separate. HOW DOES SHE DO THAT!? Overall - I'm glad I picked this one up - although, at first, it reminded me a bit of the Irrelevant and Disturbing Surreal Crawdad Dream - must be the current!

I can see what people say by sharp - the olive blossom seems to combine with the tobacco flower to overpower the frankincense. As it settles, it opens more. I'd be interested to see what it smells like on the DH though - it does seem kinda masculine...
-
I bought a bottle when it came out, but thought it was too masculine of a scent. Until today. I needed a serious perfume & thought of Hellhound! It starts out pretty spicy, but settles down sweet & vanillay. hmm, I may need to keep this one....

So very white! It must be the wysteria that I smell first of all. So light! I really like it!

Serpents with Glittering Eyes and Forky Tongues
GardenCat replied to IronMollyBlack's topic in Discontinued Scents
Interesting blend. I thought I got sweet pea at the beginning, but it must have been the Serpentine green herbs. Very springy scent - it's bright & light. On me, there's just a hint of citrus at this point - I'll have to keep sniffing to see if the green muskand snakeskin come out to play later. -
ok - very fruity on the initial application, then it dries down a bit. I was interested because of the frankincense & rose - the rose came out next, but it didn't play well with the strawberry. Now I'm on the dry down and all I get is old lady rose & dust. Maybe it will dry down better on a non-RMW day. *hopeful*

Got this as a gift, since I'm a leo and my perfume-pimp isn't. Strange in the bottle - not too strong, nothing really stands out to me. On, again, soft and unassuming. I smell the amber in it (that and the frankincense are my [so far] favorite notes in this blend). Now I'm getting a bit of the nuttiness of the walnut. Interesting scent. We'll see how it goes durning the day. 8-6-09 - now I get walnut soap. hm.

OMG - Almond snake oil?!? I came to BPAL for the florals, but the spicy Snake Oil snared me! Then, when I sniffed Asp Viper - it was all over. *faints* This IS my favorite of the snake pit (and my DH's). It's spicy almond love!
-
Interesting - I knew I had to get it because of the Honey, but was afraid the gardinas would overpower it. It's turned out to be a very sweet & light floral (duh) - yes, clean and fresh. I agree - it IS better aged - I almost swapped it because it was so stringent when I first tried it. Now, it's sweet & lovely. *sigh*
-
One of the first perfumes I tracked down imps of - as it was so pretty! It starts kinda green & grassy for me, before the light florals take over. It morphs through the day, until it's just a sweet springy scent. *sigh*
-
I also bought this one with such high hopes - a snakey floral! Very clean smelling, must be the calla lilies. There doesn't seem to be any snake oil edge in in though. Overall - a nice floral, but not dark enough to evoke much else than a springy floral bouquet. Which is nice, but not what I thought the scent would turn out to be.
