    Persephone

High-nose tinge at first, the alcohol of commercial perfumes in floral tones. High and green fruit tone emerges, followed by a juicy rose. Way too bright for me for most of it, and then when it settles down, very nice, but not my favorite.

    Paris

Strong lavender to begin: cloves, almost, underneath. Same undertone as March Hare. Sticks well to me.

    Othello

Strong, strong while wet. Dark rose for the first hour or so. After that, the musk pops, but I doubt anyone not near me could smell it. Masculine by the end, but deeply floral to start.

    O

Love this! Honey, warm and bright. Sweet, sweet, on drydown.

    Nephilim

Dry fig and incense, earthy. Neat, complex, but not really me. Softens to mostly fig later.

    Nemesis

A lot lighter than I expected at first go. I expect my nose is overloaded: will try again later. 2nd try: mostly cypress at first, with a sweet underscore. Kind of lemony. Once it settles down, though, it's beautiful, if dangerous-smelling. "Woman on the hunt" is what comes to mind. The patchouli resembles musk, and backed by the fig and tonka, it seems awfully dark and intoxicating.

    Namaste

Weird. Not having the description on hand, my first whiff said ylang-ylang and vetivert to me. That was probably the jasmine and patchouli, I suspect. In the end, I think this is just too patchouli-y for me. I'll send it on to someone who may appreciate it, if only for its name.

    Morocco

Spices and musk. I like even wet. Reminds me of something from childhood. Consistent scent. I love it. Gets spicier later. Already bought a 5 mL from a forumite.

    Medea

Dark incense. I do catch the dark orchid here, though, which smells exotic and a little bit threatening. Struck me as too threatening for work, but after reading this thread and seeing the "sophisticated"-type comments, I'm willing to give it another go.

    Mata Hari

Mostly floral to start: smells more like ylang-ylang or gardenia to me than roses & jasmine. Darkens as it dries. Mahogany/fig, kind of a musk, comes out dry. A touch of dark vanilla (or tonka?) there, but not much.

    Masquerade

A somewhat weird (for me) patchouli-orange blossom combo. Smoky, somewhat evoking Catherine for a bit. Goes incensy-orange, almost medicinally acidic and then to smoke. Not really my thing.

    March Hare

At first, apricot. Then sharp clove. Together very sharp, but not foody. Interesting, but kind of in-your-face, otherwise I'd say it might be a work scent for me.

    Malediction

Vetivert confuses my nose, and the patchouli tinge doesn't help. Heavily earthy, with a tinge of spice. Strangely enough, I don't hate it after it mellows some, before it hits the PATCHOULI! stage. Still, not for me. At one point, it does have a "bottled evil" stage.

    Magus

All cedar/sandalwood at first, with the same notes that didn't work for me with Kathmandu. Rounds and mellows after awhile, but is still eau de hippie-esque. Dries to a dry, sawdusty herbal--very pretty, if a tad masculine. Drydown's definitely my favorite phase on this one.

    Madrid

Way too artificial sweet-fruit for me at first. Then goes to sweet orange. Goes commercial perfume-y, strangely, but overly sweet and syrupy. Too bad: it sounded so promising.

    Lust

Strong, strong, strong, at first. Spiced, deep reds and blacks. Myrrh and musk come through strongest (although that might be patchouli, too), and do indeed suggest depravity. It's a hot scent, intense, and doesn't let you shake it once you've caught it. Earthy, grounded, not really romantic or dreamy--more the act than the wooing. Settles down a tad, into a more rounded, but still strong, sweet tangy scent. Cinnamon's pretty accurate. Eventually it morphs into the smell of a new-age shop that specializes in variations of Karma Sutra texts. Then either my nose got used to it, or it softens and rounds out, creating a nice waft.

    Love Me

Strong, sharp, almost offensive cinnamon and smoke at first. Sweet coca-cola overlay. Fizzy. Mostly spicy, but a sweet underneath. Then sweetens nicely, and makes me want it. Very potent, and name-appropriate. Totally shifted on me. There might be dragon's blood in there that I smell now? With a jasmine or vanilla underlay? I also catch musk, vetivert or civet from it occasionally, I think. Edit: It also lasts through showers, even with scrubbing. As for the Voodoo aspect of this oil: I think I got the first strains of the "let's just be friends" speech last night, so I'm thinking it doesn't quite work the way I thought it would.

    The Lion

Hellooo spicy amber. Nepthys' comment that this is Bastet meets Chimera isn't far off. Warm, for certain. Even literally. I wonder if my skin can't take the cinnamon, if there is any in it. Then: oh! Green tea, where did you come from? Dry, almost grassy--earthy in its way, but in the vegetation way, not the soil way. I feel like slathering this on a boy, but I'm not entirely sure it's for me.

    Lilith

Very sinister start. The myrrh/musk combo takes over. Then it's a hint of the wine--dark red currant wine, but mostly myrrh. Not work appropriate for me, but fascinating scent. A bit smoky. Reminds me of Black Phoenix after awhile. Softens a lot--I can barely smell it after an hour or so.

    Libertine

Very sweet, lightly floral. Rosey and light. Soft and springy, dry. Definitely work appropriate for me.

    Ahathoor

Very appropriate. A warm yellow glow. Bright. A bit spicy. Settles down as its worn. Citrus, sandalwood? Dry, warm. Later, more woods and cinnamon/spice. Much better off the kick. Ends with a hint of spice on the skin--is nearly gone within a few hours.

    Lampades

Lots of smoke at first, which is a turnoff for me. Then deep smoke and bitter spices. Sweet cranberry comes to the top next. Then it goes to a beautifully balanced soft and aquatic light musk/ginger. Fades fast, but is pretty.

    Lady MacBeth

Odd start, but strong, deep, boozy berry after that. Darker than Kali, with more of a red wine scent. The current/thyme seems to ground it well. Very nice, very sweet.

    La Petite Mort

A softer, more honeyed O at first. A little kick of myrrh, but very sweet. Just-warmed skin, at that perfect temperature right before the sun gets too hot. Soft glow. I do catch the ylang ylang when I concentrate, so it is softly honeyed/syrupy floral, but a floral that's perfectly me, which is rare. Touch of almonds as it dries, but still sweet and vanilla-y based. Love this! Almost worth a 5 mL--I need check if O and Black Phoenix, etc, aren't too close to it. If so, perhaps a swap is in order. Gets slightly spicier later, reminiscent of Queen of Sheba. Waft lessens.

    La Belle Dame Sans Merci

Powerful, bright at first. Something astringent to it. I think of this as yellow rather than green, as others have called it. There's a soapy herb-y floral underneath, though. Settles down into a pleasant, very clean floral with rose or lily, I think. Kind of distant-seeming.
