There's the sharp note from Sudha Segara: the ginger, evidently. Bright and a tad lemony. Clear, pure, and strong. Bracing, at first. Settles to seeming floral occasionally. Very springy, though. Softens to a strong Sudha Segara in the end.

1st try: Generally, it's an odd Tibetan-like incense smell. Didn't last too long on me. Upon a 2nd try: Cedar and bright woods predominate. Settles down some, but not enough for my tastes. Smells like a new-age shop I know of in Madison. Confirmation of fast fade on me.

From imp: Sweet, boozy start. Sexy, musky. Juicy also describes it well--berry-y, even. Rose peeks after a bit, then the tobacco. Neat, sweet drydown. Very changeable throughout: almost a sweet, romantic floral at the end. Realized upon application from new 5 mL that it's awfully commercial-smelling in its waft--wasn't as much of a fan of it last night. Not sure if it's a different batch to blame, my chemistry at the time, or just a further study of the scent.

Fresh scent to start. A hint of coconut/suntan lotion scent. Salt and ozone for the duration.

Soft, breezy honey and light orange. Sweet honey, with the tinge of wood and orange underneath. Lovely, but may not last long on me. I'll try again, though.

Very berry. Sweet, almost strawberry. Then the biting note (neroli, I assume) emerges. I don't know why, but it reminds me of an acquaintance of mine--she's reasonably intelligent, but acts stupid to attract men, and then traps them in passive-aggressive manipulations. I'm not sure if that's me describing the scent, but I suppose it could be an appropriate comparison. In general, it's nice and inoffensive, but not fantastic for me.

Woody cocoa at first. Then just cedar-wood. After awhile, a sharp underbite that's not entirely pleasant. Cocoa emerges near the end, but is faint. Lovely, soft drydown.

Too patchouli/musky at first--but that's how most BPAL works, with an overwhelming start. The peachy overtone is cute, but not worth the heavy undertone to me. Gets peachier as it dries.

Holy dark orange, Batman! Dark, sweet spice, reminiscent of Snake Oil or Black Phoenix. A bit dangerous for mixed company. This is everything I expected Snake Oil to be, but that it didn't quite manage.

Strawberries with incense. Doesn't change much throughout, although sometimes the berry's top, and sometimes the incense (amber and musk, I'd assume)

Mint anise at first. Very clean, with the mint stinging the back of the nose. Fascinating, but not for me to wear.

I was going to suggest Tombstone, myself, but it's not so sage-y. More sandalwood-y. So, say, Texas, rather than Arizona, to me. But it's definitely not floral.

Chimera is exactly what you're describing on me, although it did turn more creamy later for me--a bit more like Cinnabuns or a cinnamon milkshake. I didn't get artificial cinnamon from Love Me at all--that was more a smoky, occasionally fizzy cinnamon to me. Wrath is cinnamon that packs a punch. I'd say Chimera's your best bet, though.

Oh, thank you for this suggestion! Now that I've tried it, I love it, although I haven't passed it past his nose yet. As for the results of the earlier suggestions that I've gotten my hands on so far: Tombstone worked wonderfully, although it gets awfully dry/cedar (my skin loves to amp woods) at points for me. Zephyr is nice, but awfully masculine for me at times, and a bit more commercial than I'm used to for BPAL. Tamora ended up very commercial-smelling to me as well. I like it, and although I haven't passed it past the SO yet, I suspect it's got too much edge spice for his nose--it's probably too sharp for him, if that makes sense. Others that worked, suprisingly: Grog! I was amazed and gratified that he could deal with this one, as it's a gorgeous little pick. It's mostly butterscotch on me. And I just tried Hellcat, and I suspect that may work as well, although I haven't asked his opinion on it yet (it's allergy season for him right now, and he won't be able to smell a thing for a good few weeks at least). Thanks for everyone who gave input here. Discovering Tombstone was a huge help.

Early fall. Bright apple, oak. Breezy northern islands. Becomes more woody as it dries, becoming almost masculine. Sticks well. Work ok for me, which means it'll probably be used quite a bit.

Sweet kind of tobacco--leather at first, then peppery. Mostly sweet tobacco, though, with a hint of booze, and the fresh leather of overstuffed library chairs. After it dries for about an hour, it smells like kinky sex in a bottle: browned leather and the edge of tobacco. For me, slathering an SO in it seems like a good idea.

I smell like sugary marzipan! At first. It darkens fast, though. I'm not sure I like how the almonds and musk interact, though. It's very . . . strange. Pointed, even. It does even out at one point, but I'm unsure that weird stage is worth it. When even, it's beautifully dark almond. Final verdict: I'm pretty sure I love the end result enough to keep this one. We'll see about more.

Lotus: heavy floral, at first. Thick, rather overwhelming. The heaviness of the floral settles soon, though, and other floral notes emerge. This seems like a high summer scent: too heavy for spring/early summer, and too floral for any other time of year. By the dry stage, not so extremely summery. Can be springy, as it softens to a bouquet of soft flowers and fruit.

Musk and sandalwood pop first, masculine. After, the sandalwood sticks (but sandalwood does that to me), with wisps of the musk that make the name very appropriate. Very reminiscent of Kathmandu to me (due to the sandalwood amping), so not really my thing. Goes sweeter and lighter as it dries.

Dark, red spice to begin. Deep, even. Dries to a corrupted, sinister spice--rather masculine. Romantic, exotic, but probably not a work scent. Might work better on an SO, for me.

A brilliant, ethereal scent: white musk, bergamot, heliotrope, peach and oakmoss. Quick whiff of licorice first. Then a very high, sweet fruity floral blend. Reminds me of a peachy version of Dorian, without the sharpness. Much more rounded. Makes me think the white musk dominates on me. Not sure I like it for sure. I has the same problem that Dorian has on me in that it's kind of sharp. Softens nicely later, though.

Citrusy, then gardenia. All gardenia. I love gardenia, but can't wear it around anybody--I know too many people horribly allergic to florals. Turns more jasmine-y with a touch of dark vanilla later. Lovely, but I was happier with the gardenia than the jasmine. If Beth could bottle that dark vanilla, though--oh. I think I'd have a new signature scent.

Salty, light, aquatic dragon's blood. Delicate, with power layered underneath. Tinges of a camp from childhood to me, for some reason, with an edge of spice. Light: high spring, summery--lakeside. Softens from bright winds to the easy afternoon breezes near the lake. Work apropos.

I love this. Ordered a 5 mL already. Cherry, tangy bite at first. Settles down into a warm, cherry-soft vanilla. I never saw myself as a 'sweet' sorta person, but this seems so me.

I so didn't get honey from this one. My reaction: Powerfully laurel/bay at first. Dark and smoky when it dries, with the overlay of bay, I think--smells a bit like the cooking herb. Name's accurate: something a mystic would wear. Not me, though.
