    Morgause

Morgause is all jasmine on me. I like jasmine, but sometimes it takes over everything else and screams: “Hello! I’m jasmine! You are SO wearing me!” And then it’s a bit much. That’s what happened with this. I couldn’t smell the violet or the purple fruits at all, let alone the incense. When it dries down it’s a bit better, but still mostly jasmine. It’s a swapper.

    Florence

The pearl of the Italian Renaissance. Elegant iris, bright berries, gilded amber and velvety spices. I loved Florence at first sniff and continued to love it throughout the day. The berries are very strong on me, but their sweetness is softened and balanced by the amber and the spices. The iris is very much in the background for me, but it makes a nice counterpoint to the other scents. Florence is light-hearted and sophisticated at the same time, which is appropriate, because that's how I feel about the city. And it has great staying power on me -- if I put it on before work I can still smell it at the end of the day, without any need for reapplications. I adore this scent and definitely plan to buy a bottle. The only problem is that when I wear it I sniff my wrists all day long and I think my co-workers might fear for my sanity.

    Intrigue

First review! I really, really wanted to like Intrigue, since I love cocoa and fig. Unfortunately, I didn't get the fig at all -- just a sort of woody, piney scent battling it out with the cocoa -- a very odd combination. It made me think a bit of drinking a cup of dark hot chocolate in a grove of fir trees, which was a nice image, but still a very weird smell. After a while the cocoa gave up and it was all sharp pine -- a nice enough scent, but not one I'm particularly fond of wearing as a perfume. Oh well. Swap time.
