Fiery Wall of Protection
violetblue replied to pranashakti's topic in Purification, Protection, and Uncrossing
I smell maple syrup and dragon's blood, and a hint of spices. I love the dark red of the oil, thick and gorgeous. I can't wait to use this one at work, I know I'm going to need it. Not sure if I'd buy a bottle, I want to see how it works for me first... Bravo Beth! -
Thanks to Evon, I got an imp of this one, and it couldn't have come at a better time. Seriously, I agree with Barb, this should be sold by the bucket. I'm horrible at detecting notes, but the minute I slathered some on, I felt this strange sense of calm, which I've needed greatly these past few weeks. It's a floral, but an unusual one to me, almost mixed with incense. I think I'm going to die when I run out. Heaven in a bottle ladies - GET SOME!

I got this one as a frimp and honestly it didn't do it for me. Smelled astringent-like, and a bit too woody for me. I like earthy scents, but this one had a weird Ben-Gay quality to it and isn't something I'd want to wear. Shame.

Ohh, this one is a possible 5ml purchase! I love the sweetness and grapiness of it - a juicier, deeper grape then I smell in Urd. It has a touch of floral and bubble gum sweetness to it, and instantly put me in a great mood!
-
How cool to get an unreleased frimp!!!! And especially this one, since it's such a hot day! Minty, like fresh mint leaves!!! Very cooling when I put it on - would go well with the Lush Melomint bbs I plan to use this weekend! The florals come out softly after application - don't think I will get a 5ml of it, but I will enjoy using my imp!

This is LOVELY!!!! I am so glad I ordered one - the throw is awesome, a little goes a long way on me. It's almost Spellbound's cousin to me, rosey and incensey, the tobacco and carnation a tinge of spice/greenness that give it a nice kick. I see myself using up my 5ml quickly and wish I had bought two.

I was very lucky to get this bottle in a swap...I find it extremely feminine and lovely! On I get light florals, a bit powdery, but not overwhelmingly so at all. I agree with grrrlyennl about it making you feel pretty! I think it would be a great day fragrance. I am so glad I got this one!

I bought an imp of this from the Apothecary's Cart. I immediately recognized Dragon's Blood, and it reminded me a bit of my beloved Spellbound - sensual, sexy, and floral. I really need some power right now, hehe, so I hope it takes effect. I will get a big bottle of this when I have the opportunity most definately.

I agree with the nail polish remover likeness unfortunately. Then I remembered my old college buddy, Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill wine, pmsl. This totally reminded me of that too - on me there's barely any throw, just a soft scent, like the smell of a Strawberry Shortcake doll! I didn't catch much more than that and came to the conclusions that this one just didn't do it for me.

This one makes me crave the butterscotch candy discs my grandpa kept in his candy dish when I was a kid. I'm not one for foody scents, but I love sniffing my imp and remembering the happiness at my grandparent's house. Butterscotch, but also boozy sweet cordials, like a Buttery Nipple shot!

I think this is one of the most interesting Tarot oils that I've tried so far. A deep red, thick mixture, oozing something woody/smokey. I agree, it does have a vetivert type smell that's strong on application, but eases up into something lighter and sweeter. I can then smell anise pretty strongly.
-
A little too sharp for me to wear as a perfume, but I think would be lovely as a massage oil. Pain clears my senses (and sinuses, lol) and makes me feel alert the few times I've tried it on. I'd also love to use this oil in a foot cream too!
-
I *love* the throw this one has on me!!! Pure sweet honey-orange incense if that makes any sense at all! It also helos that my best friend's cat's name is Jezebel, so I think it makes me like it even more. It gets a bit musty on me though after a bit, and I feel like I have to reapply often to get the sweet smell of it that I love. Not a big bottle purchase, but I will enjoy my imp of it!

I was shocked to get a dream blend as a frimp from the lab - thank you lab! Unfortunately though, I couldn't stand the smell of it. This is the first lab blend I couldn't stand. I *will* try it though, the next time I can't sleep. I just wish I liked the smell of it.....

Smelling this made me immediately think of Lush's Middle Earth Turns to Rock soap, and their Rainbow Worrier bath bomb, both which are sadly now discontinued in North America. I'm happy to know now I can always use this to scent my own products should I need to. Amazing, deep, sexy, sensual, grounding! Not at all like Graveyard Dirt in its earthiness - more sophisticated and deep for sure. I am so glad I was frimped with this or I never would have known about this treasure!

I got this as a frimp and wow, is it ever boozy! Reminds me of how a nicer bar sorta smells during the day. I can smell the tobacco and the weedy smell - it's actually quite fresh and pretty. I could see myself enjoying wearing this to a daytime BBQ or picnic type event. Not what I expected from the name at all!
-
This one was a frimp and another reminder that ozone-y scents just aren't my thing. Quite dark and masculine, a little citrusy, and I swear I smell some lavendar too - would be rocking on a guy but wasn't nice on me at all.
-
I didn't read through all the reviews, but I immediately thought of Lush's Whipstick and Sonic Death Monkey when I smelled this one. It's very foody on me though, and I'm not usually a foody type. In fact, sniffing my arm, I'm becoming quite hungry! It's inspiring me to make a chocolate orange cake! It morphs into something more floral after just a few minutes. Really pretty, but I don't see myself wearing it - will probably swap it or sell it when I get a chance. I had to edit this as I've tried 13 a few more times, and now the chocolate fades so much better, and am left with such a beatiful floral!

Yay! I finally got my Eden today and it was worth the wait!!! Unshaken, I smelled a soft coconut, but after a nice and gentle shake, the fig and lots of sweetness came through. If I mixed it with my 13, I think I'd get a perfect almond joy scent, hehe! By itself though, it's a non-conventional island scent, gorgeous, and perfect for summer. Adore it!!!
-
I really need to get a big bottle of this one. I swear this blend keeps me sane, grounding me when I'm super stressed out or irritated. It goes on me somewhat plasticy, but that changes to a sweet vanilla slightly foody scent on me, then the flowers just bust all out! Gorgeous.
-
I can smell the lunar base oils right away in this one, and the flowers seem to hide softly behind them on me. I didn't buy it from the lab, as I was worried I wouldn't like it, but then bought one from the swaps page out of dire curiousity. It IS a pretty but very light floral, not in your face in any way. I think I would have liked it better stronger as it disappears quickly on me. Not one I'd wear everyday, but nice for summer!
-
So light and gorgeous- sometimes violets can be too heavy on me, but this one is soft and beautiful. It reminds me of a bridal bouqet for some reason. I'd love to scent bath products with this!
-
This was a frimp, not one I would have picked out due to the citrus. It's pretty, but just too Pledge smelling for my taste, and the florals gave me a headache, which is very rare for me.
-
Another one I think would smell amazing on a guy. I just don't think perfumes with vetivert work out well on me. It's sexy though, woodsy, earthy, and mysterious! I think if it was just a bit sweeter, I'd be able to wear it.
-
I am horrible at detecting notes and this one was a challenge for me. I swear I smell the honey and vanilla, but I don't get the pepper. It's quite feminine and light, and I detect some citrus as well. Not one I'd wear all the time, it's more of a room scent to me than a perfume.
