Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

I swear Phoenix at Dusk smells like Dior's Poison.... -
Holy....I bought 2 bottles unsniffed, no idea why because leather never works but this one sounded different and wow is it.... I sniffed it from the bottle and said immediately, "not me, off to swaps." I tested it later and whoa....it smells the like inside of the now closed BNEVER store I got to visit in London, a sister co. of Lush. This is insane!!! I had already listed it for sale, so 1 is gone but glad I have a back up bottle. I wish I could describe the scent but man did I love the smell of the inside that BNever store. Just a blending of awesome perfumes with awesome ingredients in them. I can't believe I am smelling this and remembering, it was so long ago!

I don't know how or why but this reminds me a lot of a mellower Poison by Dior. The notes in that are: coriander, pimento, anise and is accented with rosewood, orange blossom and vanilla, none listed in the bottle, but there's a perfumey quality to this one I am not sure I am loving. May be off to swaps...

I was frimped this recently, from the lab or a swap, I have no idea, but I thank whoever sent it to me because I never would have tried this on my own because honey usually ends up musty on me. I loved it the second I put it on. I came here immediately to check the notes and wow, not what I thought. I get a resiny vanilla lemon that dries to an indescribable earthy lemony scent. Not usually the kind of scent I would wear, but I am already waffling on a bottle.

Beth is spot on to call this filthy patchouli! The patchouli comes off super strong and a little sharp - while Goblin is soft patchouli and tempered with the coconut, this is in your face almost single note patchouli. I am curious how this will age and if the sharpness, almost sourness will possibly fade. I get the chocolate but it does not sweeten this blend to my nose. I really like it though, as I love patchouli heavy blends.Luckily the tobacco does not go all pipe smoke on me in this blend. I don't get the vanilla much but I don't miss it really either.

Burned cinnamon sugar. Did not work for me at all - wish I had gotten more vanilla like some people. The cinnamon is way too strong for me - it fades a lot with wear, but I dislike anything cinnamon scented as perfume, so it's a no for me.

Hmm, I am having bad luck with these....I used about 1/4 of the jar and the scent was gone once it hit the water and nothing on me once dried off. In the jar it's faint, pretty and earthy, reddish in color. Made a ton of bubbles but sadly lacking any scent. Was really looking forward to these - maybe I am not using enough? It made a ton of bubbles as it was though...

This is what I imagine Wiley Grasser to smell like....hmmm first applied sweet candied strong cold pine and leaves. I would love this as a room scent, undecided as a perfume oil for now, but it's pleasant - reminds me of a candle scent too much I think...
-
I adore this - first applied it's sweet cake and some kind of pine note that actually *works*. The pine disappears after a few minutes and I get a vanilla-y snake oil slight winey sweet scent with maybe a hint of champaca? It's delicious , am already considering another bottle or 2 - though the man said it smelled like pipe tobacco to him, which is usually what I smell on myself with vanilla blends but this one, not at all, so kinda weird. ETA: Throw is super light to me even with slathering but very nice. I do not smell cigarette smoke.

I agree, a love child of Smut and Snake Charmer - familiar in a cozy way but different too....really like! so glad I was able to swap for this.

Sadly this turns to sharp lemony powder my skin, overpowering the cherry and surprisingly the almond on me.
-
This doesn't have as much throw as I expected from the first review, but I think it's very nice! It too reminds me a lot of Goblin, which is also a bit weak on me. I get vanilla patchouli with a the hemp not as strong as Banshee Beat -the strong hemp ruined BB for me. I think this will be nice possibly for layering. I dig it though.
-
First applied all I smelled was rich chocolate and a touch of snake oil. I can't imagine what the released smelled like because the chocolate in this was very strong to me. As it dries, it's strong Snake Oil with more depth and a bit sweeter, if that makes any sense.
-
Ohh, liquid Lemonheads for me. Sharp on first application as others have said, but then it dries down to a sweeter lemon with lots of powdered sugar, yum! I would love this as a room scent esp in the kitchen, or even a hand soap, but not so much to wear I think...,

Happy to get an imp of this one finally!!! I am getting straight up maple syrup/crust, no berries really. Hmmm.
-
Wow. I just got an imp of this from a swap and so happy I was able to score a bottle unsniffed. This is happiness in a bottle. Seriously. Have had a case of the blahs the last few days and this was an instant pick me up. First applied the cotton candy stands out with the fresh grass, and on dry down it becomes a clean, out of the shower, fresh girly scent. Perfect for summer. I really love this one. It is a bit in the realm of Dirty for me in that clean watery way, but in no way is it dryer sheets though I would love to launder my clothes in this.

I have noticed all bottles from Dark Delicacies are never quite as full as ones mailed from the lab - happened to me with all the laces as well as Black Heart...no biggie, but I did notice...
-
I echo sunshinedaisybliss' review word for word. First applied it's super strong, dry down is vanilla musk with a tinge of sweetness and very powdery!
-
Definitely gender neutral! I am getting a lot of myrrh on the dry down and I swear I smell sweet clove. Don't notice the other notes or patchouli sticking out at all. A nice scent but not nuts over it - thank you to my angel, a million thanks!
-
I've never smelled one like this. I agree with the fern reference and the hair spray when first applied. It reminds me of a of a lotion or bath product I've used in the past but can't put my finger on it. Almost a clean smell if that makes sense but not soapy - quite high end. No smoke and the benzoin does seem to be strong in this blend too. ETA I just decanted this for someone and omg the oil is the most gorgeous blue green color.
-
First applied I smelled powder immediately and went but it quickly changes into a sweet slightly citrus pretty amber, and is really lovely. The vanilla I thought I smelled disappears quickly and the spices peak out, but it's still really nice and I think will be great for summer. ETA Much love to my pick up angel too!

This is such a comforting, foodie scent. I did not get the crushed candy cane, which I liked because I am not crazy about mint in the tub.I got straight up shortbread cookies with a sweet fruity edge but not sour as cranberry can be. This is wonderful to use after a bad day because it's such a warm, happy scent. Very moisturizing and lovely.
-
Hard for me to pick out the notes in this one, it really is blended nicely. This was the strongest of the salts I have tried so far, which I loved. The yummy earthy scent lingered after that bath, which made me happy. None of the notes slapped me in the face with this one.

Super light throw (surprising when the oil is so dark)and morphs a lot. First applied it is strong fruity ripe slightly sour mango, then morphs first to a fruity perfumey scent, then last becomes fruit/soapy on me. I never got the musk. For some reason, it's reminding me of a Caswell Massey soap I've smelled in the past.

Patchouli, golden amber, deep woods, fig, and vetiver. The lovely samarablackcat frimped me this and I'm finally testing it! First appled, it was strong, dry vetiver and I wasn't loving it (very pretty red oil), but as it dries down it becomes a nice sweet patchouli. I do like this but I think still prefer Goblin when I want a more of a patchouli strong type scent.
