well, after all my whining, I got my Banshee Beat today! Wow, is it pretty....sweet vanilla and patchouli but the hemp is super strong on me and seems to take over a bit, not sure how I feel about that. I am also finding a bit of that cologney manliness like I got in Tombuer. That doesn't last too long though but it's making me a little iffy about this right now. I see the snake oil comparisons, and also see how people say what a morpher this is. I hate to say it, but right now I think I may like Goblin better than this one, but I am going to give it a little time to age....

Thank you to yokaitenchi for the decant so I could try this one! This 13 is blended so well, it's hard for me to detect the notes... I do smell the light chocolate and berry, and as it dries, the lovely honey and champaca peak through and there is that underlying sweetness without it being too foody for me. It reminds me somehow of bubblegum, the pink old fashioned kind, but not in your face like Jailbait. I am not detecting a lot spiciness, but it works for me. Light throw but I still wouldn't mind having a bottle of this.

Chaos Theory VI: Recursive Self-Similarity v7

#606 The person I got it from mentioned grape/plum, but I am getting mostly sweet pipe smoke and an almost play-dough scent. It's interesting and I keep smelling it, but I am not sure where I'd wear it!! -
This is absolutely horrible on me. I'm sorry Beth. The 2nd of only 2 blends I've had to scrub off in over 6 yrs. I instantly thought, "dirty diaper." No idea why but the beautiful color made me think it would be resinous and amazing, but it just smelled super funky on me with a weird musk underlying.

Wet, I am getting pumpkin with something sharp behind it, almost alchol-ish...like a pumpkin martini with a cinnamon vanilla swizzle stick! How does Beth do this???? I have never purchased a pumpkin that I can remember, but this one is yummy. As it dries, I do not get blackberry or candy floss, but a really pretty, sweet vanilla that mellows out the pumpkin so it doesn't go all Yankee Candle, and turns the sharp liquor into a virgin, sweet, spiced drink. This is a really comforting scent, and I am happy to have tested it before I am going to bed, I can't stop huffing my wrists, and after a really crappy day, I suddenly feel relaxed and calm. Gorgeous and perfect for this time of year. Very happy I took a chance on this bottle!!

The minute I put this on, I could swear I made a mistake and put on Lucy, Kissed (which is really weird because Lucy, Kissed has so many more components). This is a tad sharper though but yummy red musk nonetheless. Very long and lasting throw. The honey is quite faint in this blend on me and just gives it a teeny tiny sweet edge on the drydown which is a touch powdery on me. Edited 1/27/11 I swapped for an advertised non red musk blend of this and This is clear, super sweet, and reminds me of Dragon's Milk. It dries to a super soft very sweet candyish musk/dragon's blood scent. Crazy! Wonder how different versions of this happened? I don't get honey out of this at all which is nice, since honey normally goes sweaty sweet funk on me.

Wet this is almond extract love! Dry down I get the yummy coconut and cherry. Sweet but not much throw, my skin eats it up, but before it's gone, it's awesome.
-
Hmm, pastry, very foody and light cherry to start - dry down is cherry chapstick and a bit powdery pie crust. I'm on the fence right now with this one...

My bottle says DD anniversary and is not the apple version.... Man, why does this not work on me?? I get the inside of an antique store, that smell when open up antique furniture drawers, mixed with potpourri/heady perfume. I wanted to love you, but this just turns too powdery on me.

So glad I got to try it but sadly not for me...musky dirty (not in a patchouli way) vanilla just a touch bitter and reminds me of a BBW scent. Never wanted to wash off a BPAL before this one. Glad to see it gets much love from others though.

LOVE THIS!! So glad I got a bottle unsniffed. Sweet patchouli on drydown and it's heavenly! 5/5

Like everyone is saying, this is a lot lighter than expected, throw not crazy. It smells incensey on me - pretty, almost sweet, but not swoon worthy. Much better smelling than I thought it might be (and better on me than Tombuer which shocked me), as I took a chance with some of the notes in it that are usually death for me. I think I may see how this one ages, it may just get better with time. For now, 2.5/5.

I really truly wanted to love this one. But it turned into a shot of weird men's cologne with a snake oil chaser. I prefer Snake Oil/Charmer to this and swapped my bottle.

I totally agree this is a happy scent. It reminds me of a rosy version of my 5ml of Dirty. Very fresh and light but sweet in an uncloying way. A pick me up scent for sure! Innocent and shy though.

#377 Butterrum lifesavers in the bottle. Oh yeah!!! First applied - vanilla and green? After a few minutes - Roses and vanilla, ala Katrina Van Tassel! Bizarre! After ten minutes: More vanilla, less rose Very pretty, but I amp rose and I already have Katrina, so off to the swaps you go! -
Where is my order? What is Click N Ship? How long does this take?

Thanks for that info - neither the lab or CCnow had my order, so I just redid it, really odd though! Never had that happen before. Thanks again! -

Anyone ever had *this* happen? I placed an order for 3 bottles last week. Just now realized I never got the CC now email I always get, and haven't been charged either. I *KNOW* I placed the order, because I felt super guilty, when I hit submit. I remember typing in my cc number and everything! I emailed the lab but haven't heard back yet... -
I was so happy to be able to get a hold of this one after they weren't for sale anymore. At first sniff, I wasn't crazy about it and put it away. I forgot about it 'til recently and really am loving it. It was what I had wanted Candy Phoenix to be. Perfect for summer, light, sweet and a bit creamy, but something slightly green underneath to keep the sweets in check. Yummy!

This on is YUMMY!!!! I love the sweetness and the strong plum - reminds me a teeny bit of Urd but sweeter and less incensey. So happy I swapped for this one. If you like sweet but dark scents, this is for you!

Oh I was so excited for this one, but when I opened it up and sniffed it, I went The tiny bit I sampled smelled better on than in the bottle, but just wasn't for me - I think the guilty party may have been the opium tar but not sure. I can't describe it, but it has an odd underlying funky smoky thing going on I had never experienced before and a bit too sharp for me. Sad to say it but this one just didn't work out, off to swaps you go...
-
First applied, this is a yummy cream cherry soda smell without the fizz. Yum!!! Soon after, the muskiness shines through and it's absolute awesomeness. Thanks so much to my Bat's Day angel for getting this for me so I could experience it. Light throw, so I'm guilty of the slather.

What everyone else said!! This is luscious and comforting, but sexy at the same time! I'd use it all the time if I could afford to! Just ordered another one so I have 2 stashed and one in use. Can't wait to try it with the bath oil I just ordered too - tomorrow is the last day, so glad I checked the BPTP site today.

Lush lovers, my first thought was American Cream when I sniffed it initially...then it reminded me of a discontinued bubble bar by Lush I can't recall the name of. Truly sweet and fruity, but not that acidic citrus that goes all bad on me or foodie funky either. It's creamy and yummy! I think it would be awesome to make bath salts with for an outstanding soak. Love it!

I absolutely adore this scent. Sadly, Mme Moriarty made me break out in horrible hives, and as much as I loved it, I had to swap it away. This one is mellower, sweeter, but still sexy and incensey lovely. The label is *too* adorable. A true winner, thank you Beth.

This reminds me of a simpler Katrina Van Tassel minus the cream. First applied, it is a very beautiful rose, not musty at all, but dry down there's an odd underlying Old Spice cologne smell to it on me. It's balanced nicely though, not too sweet, not too sharp, average throw. I think it might be nice layered with something else, kind of on the fence about it right now...
