    Bravery, Courage, Confidence, Intimidation, Power

Wolf's Heart might be a good one to try (for courage), or also Queen (for harnessing your feminine power). Sometimes I have really good results with Black Cat, although it seems an unlikely choice! It really makes me feel powerful and in control, yet very catlike, confident and assured. Whatever you choose, good luck! Hope things go your way...

    Bengal

Mm...Bengal is delicious!!! It smells dead-on like sugared chai tea (but without the milk). Wet, on: lots of honey in the foreground, with a complex tapestry of spices woven together in a red/gold shimmer. After a while, it dries down and the honey mellows out. At this point the pepper and ginger come out to play, but it still retains some of the initial sweetness and is really well-balanced. For me it is very wearable, although I definitely don't apply this too soon after a bath or shower due to the "burn" factor. Just have to say also that Beth could probably, with her immense talent, make even gasoline smell like a sophisticated perfume on a woman! I will cherish my bottles of this!

    Desert scents, including Southwestern scents

I first off have to recommend Coyote very highly! It's wonderful...strangely enough, The Lion smells like hot, dry grasslands to me (close?) and the Scarecrow is interesting, too. If you don't like florals, you could also try Lear, even though it's not "desert-themed". The Lab's description: White cedarwood, blue sage and bay leaf. Sounds like something you might like. Oh, and my personal fave "Old West" scent is Tombstone! Hope that helps a little...good luck!
  4. I also would recommend you try Hamadryad, Rome, and Absinthe, and Wolfsbane. All lovely! Antony is also quite nice. Ides of March is wonderful! Good luck!! Hope you find a scent that's perfect for you...

    Sudha Segara

Wow, Sudha Segara is one of my fave BPAL scents out of the maybe 40 (?) I've tried/sniffed. In the bottle: Wet, fresh ginger with honey and orange? When first applied: warm ginger and the sweetness of the milk and honey are coming out now. Gorgeous! Drydown: unfortunately, this scent doesn't last long on me. It's like it works SO well with my body chemistry that after a while it just becomes a part of me and I can no longer smell it. Bottom line: Sudha Segara is so perfectly balanced with its spicy/creamy/warm notes that it is my ultimate comfort/relaxation scent. I am going to experiment with making some body lotion of this to layer with, maybe I can make it last longer! So glad I bought a 10ml of this... ETA: cuz I made typos...

    Persephone

In the bottle: MMMM....I love this one!!! Wet: Strong rose, but not sharp or old-lady-ish (thank goodness), it's more mellow and juicy. I can smell the round fruitiness of it. Dry: A sweet and perfectly blended mix of fruit and floral. I smell yummy and feminine! For me, Persephone is like Blood Rose's younger, more innocent sister. However, it still packs quite the sex appeal punch!! I am so glad I ordered a big bottle of this!

    The Hanging Gardens

Wow--when I first tested my imp of this I started laughing hysterically as I realized that oh-so-mysterious and familiar smell I was picking up was banana candy! It smelled just like those banana Runts I used to devour as a kid. Not necessarily a bad thing, so just bear with me here. OK. Now some diverse smells are starting to make their appearances. I smell fig and some other juicy tropical fruits, I think. This blend is really yummy to me, and I must say that I totally fell in love with the concept and the description at first sight anyhow. On drydown, this smells like beautiful warm flowers (definitely some gardenia there) and exotic woods. I smell like pretty, fruity, florally sandalwood! Sometimes I even think I might detect a hint of jasmine in here? Maybe that's just on my skin. At any rate, I think that fans of Beth's tropical-y blends will love this one! It is exotic and dee-lish!

    The Ides of March 2005

Ooh, I love this one!! At first sniff it smelled very fresh and green with rosemary strongly in the forefront. I just wanted to bury my nose in the bottle and inhale deeply. Upon wearing, I discovered that it smells wonderfully crisp and herbal with just a hint of sweetness. Unfortunately, the drydown is a little too masculine for my taste b/c the flowers seem to disappear, but that's just because I'm such a fan of sugary sweet scents normally that this just isn't really "me". I do think it would be a great "wear to work" scent ( I think Macha brought that up already?) or room scent and I LOOOVE this on my boyfriend. Interesting side note: this is the first BPAL that he has totally pinched from me! I ended up just giving him the bottle cuz he loves it so much. When I first got it, I had him blind-sniff the bottle. He said, "What is that?? It smells like my trip to the Mediterranean!" (he visited Rome not so long ago, and so did I. ) Bottom line: this is such a dead-on interpretation that I can't help but love it!

    Aeval

I hope everyone can bear with me as I do my first review! I committed to not letting myself read the description or reviews of Aeval today as I began testing it...here goes! First Impressions: ooh, yummy, this smells like purple flowers to me. As in lilac, violet, or iris? I don't know what flowers I'm smelling, but they are definitely there. Not too cloyingly sweet, though, just a like a warm spring breeze of flowers. Second sniff: ok, now I smell a little something warm and sweet in the background, like vanilla or tonka? Whatever it is, it is the perfect heart note to give the floral some oomph without overpowering it. Drydown: white flowers and musk! smells to me like white musk, in a warm sexy glowing-skin way, not like a yucky baby powder musk. Bottom line--for me, Aeval is a creamy, smooth floral with some nice staying power. Sweetly sexy, and not too much for me to wear to work. Bravo, Beth--I love this oil!
