It took me a bit to put my thumb on why I didn't fall in love with the living flame. I didn't get any musk or vanilla on like some of the other reviewers and I thought that might be it. Florals and I need a bridge in the form of some spice or fruit or foody note to get along. I was intrigued during the wet stage, because there were definite possibilities...some spice with the intense and amazing florals, but during the drydown... omg, I smell like my mom! Now don't get me wrong, my mom is an amazing woman. But I need to smell like me!

In the bottle this was strongly wine and tobacco for me. Wet, verrrry sweet and strong and in a moment turned into...something... Ew. It's VERY cheap cherry flavored pipe tobacco on me. None other the other notes pop out at all and it's inspired a headache in a flash. So bummed out about this, stooopid body chemistry! Had to wash this off. (sigh)

This is the scent that addicted me to BPAL. It was my first bottle and will always be a staple for me. I was tenative when I ordered it because I though that honey might dominate on me, but the amber and vanilla temper it nicely on. Wet, it's very sweet on, but enjoyably so. It dries down on me very quickly and turns into...well..skin. Warm, glowing, sugared, happy skin. None of the specific notes shine through the day, but this is one of those scents that has me hearing "OOOOOO what smells good?" constantly. Wheeee, it's ME! Thanks, Elizabeth! This is divine.

A scent that is both coquettish and sinister. Exotic and lush, brimming with grace and viciousness: almond with star jasmine, oakmoss, red sandalwood and Egyptian musk. Salome was my first swap from the LJ board...my first imp! First impression...almonds, very strong cherry soaked almonds. Wet...cherry and almonds again, a hint of spiciness Dry down...the jasmine/floral comes to the front. During this stage I was a bit afraid. Straight florals don't work that well on me, but the floral toned right down and the spiciness mellowed it beautifully. Through the day...a soft powderyness come through - not baby powder powder but something like spices, almonds, and dried flowers worked with a mortar and pestle. This makes me wish I had my softest, most beaten in jeans on. Very vintage in a patchwork leather jacket rather than a lace collar way, if that makes any sense. I find this gentle, delicious and comforting and will be in for a 5ml.
