Okay guys, I've tried a few roses and my favorites so far have to be Moon Rose, Persephone and Hope. I just tried Rose Red 2007 and it's just too strong. I prefer the sweeter roses. Can anyone recommend some other roses?

All I have to say about 51 is that for me, it's the first BPAL that smells like a EDT/EDP I'd spray on at a department store. I like it because it's not "weird", which is ironic given the theme behind it.

Absolutely lovely on me. I can't really smell the pomegranite but I'm guessing it's what is creating a slightly tart edge. This is my first rose scent from BPAL and I adore it!

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

I'm a bit wary of The Dodo after reading the reviews. Apparently many people are having irritation/reaction due to the cinnamon, I guess. I'm not allergic to anything but I hate being itchy. >.< -
Oils to relax, calm, soothe, restore your sanity...

Chiming in with another Aspergers patient here with major anxiety. I take antidepressants which helps greatly *both my mood and my anxiety*. It's gotten worse in the past year because I was diagnosed with IBS, which just makes me more anxious, which makes the IBS worse, and so the whole vicious cycle. I too am sensitive to smells and am hoping to find something BPAL that will help soothe me. So far, I've found that Antique Lace is a very comforting scent to me; it makes me feel like I'm curled up in bed after just having washed my sheets -- that clean, warm scent. -
In the bottle: Apples with a scent of tartness to them Wet on skin: The tartness is gone, so I just get apples. Drydown: A tinge of woodsiness.

Thank you for the recommendation, icing!

I have to say the SGA artwork scares me. >.<

My first review, squeeee! In bottle: I smell strong baking, butter, and a whiff of vanilla Wet on skin: Same as in bottle, but the vanilla is stronger Drying on skin: No significant change but the "baking" scent has faded and I think it's the blackcurrants trying to escape! I don't know what blackcurrants smell like, but something new is definitely coming through. Dry: I wish there was a bit more blackcurrant to this, but I absolutely LOVE the vanilla in it! Yum yum!

Try using rubber gloves to take off the cap, then use a pipette/dropper to take out a tiny bit of oil and drop it onto a cotton pad. That's what most people put in their scent lockets, so once it's dried down you can just (again, using the gloves if you want to be careful) waft the cotton pad toward your nose and smell. -
Maybe it's because some people's skin takes the oil more than others? I know people have said that their skin is so dry it sucks all the oil up, so I guess maybe the scent still lingers because it's been absorbed quickly into the skin?

Thank you!

Wow I DEFINITELY like the sound of Manila, The Ghastly Garden (how easy would it be to get an imp of this since it's discontinued?)? Isle of Demons and Helle's Belles aren't up on SS -- which line are they in?

Thank you! *looks them up on SS*

I placed a few orders yesterday and since one had a "6 for 10$" deal on imps, I stepped outside of my recommendations and looked up each scent available from the SS wiki. One that intrigued me was "Machu Picchu". Description: "Sweet tropical fruits burst through deep, wet rainforest boughs, enormous steamy blossoms, over thin mountaintop breezes, mingled with the soft, rich golden scent of Peruvian amber." I've been fascinated with rainforests ever since I was little (dreamed of traveling to Costa Rica or somewhere) and I am SO excited to try this. I'm worried it might be a bit heavy, but if so heck I'd just smell the bottle and imagine I was somewhere else! (Probably being mauled by jaguars or something!) Anyway, are there any other BPALs that smell similar or have a similar concept? I'm hoping on me it will mostly be the fruit and the amber and not too much of the wet trees, since I tend to shy away from the... weird... scents. (I do not want to smell like dirt!)
