Very purple and grape. Smells juicy and fun. I love plum and forest berry type scents and this will layer well with those.

My cantankerous old lady, a dog of many names: Lumpy, No-Fun Dog, Grandma, Day-Day, and Cranks. She always looked like a smore to me, so her scent is scorched marshmallows and melted chocolate with cinnamon sugar-dusted graham cracker bits. This smells mostly like the cinnamon sugar graham crackers on me. It smells like the graham crackery parts of Beaver Moon. I will let it settle for a few days and try it again. I'm really hoping for the marshmallow and chocolate to be more forward! I bought it to layer with scents like Muddy Puddles, The Worst Pillow, Breathless Chuckle, etc. and it would be a good pairing for those.

Liliths bright, bouncy, goofy Leo! A gleaming vanilla cream poof of coconut with a hint of tiare. This is pretty much exactly what it says - a creamy coconutty vanilla. The tiare really is just a hint, it is like a light floral whisper in the background. The coconut isn't an overly sugary or baked goods type coconut, nor is the vanilla cream particularly sweet. It smells lush, velvety and faintly tropical somehow.

I reallllllllly dislike this and I was bitterly disappointed by it. It smells nothing like the description at all! I was hoping for a chocolatey version of the original Midway. Instead, this is dusty cocoa mixed with a caramel scented candle that came from the dollar store - a little waxy, very synthetic, and cloying. There is a strong alcohol/boozy note (not listed in the notes, btw) which stomps on everything until I smell like a sugar hangover. It smells like too many Mudslides and butterscotch martinis the night before are coming out of my pores, sour and unbalanced. I tried it in a scent locket and it was not any better.

I love this. It smells super beautiful, a pretty white glittery floral. It smells a lot like Tommy Hilfiger's Tommy Girl perfume. Something about it is very commercial. If you like other BPAL commercial smelling florals such as Butterflies, Flowers and Jewels Attending, give this a try.

This is beautiful beyond words. I imagine a freshly picked pink rose with petals dripping with nectar or simple syrup instead of dewdrops. Fresh, clear sweetness paired with fresh innocent rose. It smells expensive and what I imagine the "gorgeous girl next door" in a movie might smell like.

Like raspberry iced tea. Fresh, clean and very spring or summer friendly. I got no dark or metallic notes.

This smells nothing like what I thought. I am confused. I think I was expecting something more 50/50 vanilla and orchid, and instead this is all orchid and no vanilla. Maybe a dash of green plant-like freshness in there too. It reminds me of a single perfect flower boutonniere fresh out of the florist's fridge. It smells fantastic layered with vanilla or marshmallow type scents! I tried it with SN French Vanilla, Stekkjarstaur, Stale Sugar Crusted Marshmallow Chick and a number of other companies' stuff - Arcana Rich Vanilla, Arcana Marshmallow, NAVA Vanille Noir, Possets Arcturus, etc. So I do think it has value as a single note layered with other things. I initially wanted to swap it away but I think I'll hold onto it.

For the breeze + pineapple, try Vasakasajja. It's an LE from the Faces of the Heroine series and definitely has that clean, tropical, juicy, fruity scent despite there being no fruit in the notes.

Pretty much exactly Snake Oil + O. I was hoping for more Snake Oil with just a drop of O but it seems to be split evenly with both scents. I think this will be more Snake Oil as it always seems to strengthen over time, so I will wait for it. I would like a honeyed Snake Oil rather than honey + Snake Oil.

A cool vanilla scent that is slightly creamy then goes plasticky on my skin. Doesn't have the marshmallowy, powdery coolness of Antique Lace or the dense almost sticky sugariness of the vanilla in TKO. This does work in the scent locket but the vanilla doesn't blend with my skin as much as it sits on top of it.

I greatly prefer the previous formulation to the new one. The old one was a rich, sensual, creamy incensey vanilla that smelled like a classic, beautiful perfume and worked wonders on my skin. The new formulation smells a bit too sharp and has more of the cognac and tobacco, which to my nose translates to a very Perversion like blend. Nice, I guess, but I already have an imp of Perversion and just don't like it enough to need a whole bottle of a scent that is so similar.

Heaven and Earth Essentials "Voodoo Punani" was obviously inspired by MB: Underpants, but smells absolutely nothing like it. It smells just like GVaRB! I get a buttercream vanilla and sandalwood-type background, with a faint swirl of spice, like how Morocco has just that gentle hint of spice cabinet smell. On me this smells like that faint incense-y spicy Indian clothing store smell that gets into all your clothes when you visit. It's very comforting since I am from the Indian subcontinent. Not sexy to my nose or to the SO's, who is also Indian. But he says it smells like home, and that's a warm, inviting thing to smell like. =) Overall though, it smells like a more expensive version of HAEE Voodoo Punani or BPAL's Morocco, both of which are cheaper and smell so similar to this that there wasn't really any need for me to get this. D'oh.

This is the single most bizarre BPAL experience ever. Wet: um, I smell the lime, and sugar cookies with a bit of tobacco, but they combine to produce an uncanny spicy & sour pickled mango smell. On: still hot pickled mango. 3 hours later: yeah, definitely hot pickled mango achar. So delightfully weird!

Tum is one of the Stations of the Sun scents, from the Excolo category.

Svadhinaopatika? Honey and currant and sandalwood, a beautifully glowy, honey-woodsy scent. Bell Epoque? Sweet opium, Lily of the Valley, vanilla, mandarin and red sandalwood. Jezebel (hehe), a gloriously decadent blend of honey, roses, orange blossom and sandalwood. Wanton? Palmarosa, red sandalwood, attar of rose, patchouli. Khajuraho: honey, date palm, tuberose, davana blossom, amber, white sandalwood, vanilla bean, Damask rose, and champaca flower. just beautiful (my favorite description is "incense in Heaven"), and what I would choose as my own wedding BPAL if my bottle would last that long.

On me, the notes all combine beautifully and I'm unable to pick out any specific note from the scent. Vasakasajja is nearly all silky, luscious, jasmine/gardenia/plumeria, almost buttery; somehow its listed notes of "skin musk, champaca flower, tonka bean and vanilla" are combining to give my nose this impression. If made solid, it would remind me of the interior of a white chocolate Lindor truffle, in both color and texture. Like whipped cream, but even softer, so soft. It manages to have this wonderful smoothness on me despite having no milk or cream notes at all, which is just as well because those never seem to work on me. Vasakasajja is vanilla-sweetened, not sugary or fruity, which prevents it from smelling too girly or naive. This, Black Moon and Abhisarika all smell like variations of the same glowing fragrance. The same lush, golden-creamy velvety richness is at the heart of all three scents. If I had to classify them, Black Moon would be the most crystalline, "fresh" and elegant of the three, Abhisarika the most intimate and delicate, and Vasakasajja the most playful and appropriate for everyday wear. I am very happy that I've finally found some jasmine/gardenia-"type" BPALs that I can wear, as they are some of my favorite notes but almost all the scents that include them as one of the listed notes...well, they all tend to smell kind of poopy (literally). These 3 blends are some of my favorites now, as I feel like I have one for every mood.

I feel like I am coming down with something, so my sniffer might not be in top working order, but I'll give this a shot. Something about it results in my confusing it with Vasakasajja repeatedly (and Vasakasajja reminds me of Black Moon). I think all three scents share the same floral "vibe", a lush, creamy, glowing feel. Abhisarika is much softer though, and a slightly less sweet rose and orchid blend; the combo of the two floral notes makes me think it is a jasmine-but-not-jasmine scent. Like gardenia but smoother and creamier, and like jasmine but not as bright and clear, with none of the sharp greenness or soapiness that roses generally have on me. The musk ties everything together and is barely, barely there (I amp all musk notes like mad, so for me to not really notice it here is quite amazing!). It's a very beautiful blend, and the lack of too much musk would make it good for wearing anywhere, anytime. It is an intimate fragrance without too much throw; one would have to be very close to you to recognize that you're wearing perfume. Unfortunately, as it is so light, it seems to vanish completely in about an hour. Frequent re-applications are fine by me, though. This is one my floral-lovin SO will truly appreciate.

Fresh mint leaves dipped in sugar, then dropped into smooth bone china cups filled with freshly brewed Earl Grey tea. That's what I get from this, no Snake Oil at all. I was a bit disappointed at the ultra-short lasting power (it's there and gone within an hour), but that's what all BPAL mints do on me so it wasn't exactly a surprise. I will just have to slather!

Snake Oil with cinnamon, cassia, and red ginger. This is one of very few oils that elicited an actual, verbal "blech" reaction when I opened the bottle. Seriously, something is in here that smells like rank Middle Eastern food (I'm guessing roast lamb and spiced rice that's been left out overnight, stinking the whole kitchen up. something "wild" and almost musky). I have no idea what it is! Cassia normally goes all plastic on me, it doesn't smell like this. Cinnamon also goes generally goes kind of plastic. And red ginger, I don't know what that smells like. It's definitely not as friendly and homey smelling as whatever ginger is in Shub. This smells bitter, sharp and almost smoky, like smoked meat smells. After half an hour, it calms down and the unpleasant savory food association fades away. What's left reminds me of Shub-Niggurath but a bit, I don't know, "clearer"? It's the scent equivalent of high pitched alarm bells sounding a fire, complete with an edge of smoke from said fire. Thankfully, my skin doesn't react to this like it did to Shub, but I don't think I'll be wearing this one for a while so it doesn't matter much. When I got Shub, it had this offensively bright lemony edge to it, and aging it eventually burned the lemon aspect away. I am hoping that aging this will burn the leftover dinner smell of this away, leaving a lovely cinnamonny, gingery, incense and vanilla delight like I had hoped.

This is definitely the most Snake Oil-y of the three pit scents I got (Boomslang, Saw-Scaled Viper, Green Tree Viper). It is separated in the bottle, a bit of rolling mixed it up good and proper. Wet: it is very dark! my skin is already brown so no staining though haha. Dry: the cocoa mixes beautifully with the Snake Oil, it makes it a little richer and sexier. after a while the cocoa does fade away, leaving Snake Oil behind. the scent it leaves behind isn't as smooth and complex as the Snake Oil I am used to, but my imp of it is over 2 years old at this point so that is probably why. Ultimately, this is lovely and warm, it'd be great for winter weather. It'd be a bit much for summer wear, though (all's good, this will give it a chance to age).

I get the overwhelming impression of custard with bits of pineapple and cherry with a crisp toffee topping. No turkey or butter or toast in sight (in sniff?). This is by far my favorite "foody" blend ever! I will use up the imp and have a bottle coming my way soon. In the meanwhile, I cannot get past how delicious I smell. So, so good.

This really is like Nuclear Winter and Snow White had a baby. I get a strong watery-mint vibe that's like Nuclear Winter and a strange smoothness that's like vanilla but not quite (maybe "cream" without the milky aspect?) that reminds me of Snow White. Snow White turned into absolutely nothing on my skin, though (for real. I couldn't even smell it once it was on) and Nuclear Winter was a bit too perfumey. However, Snow Flakes gets a nice balance of the two, and has more throw than Snow White without being too strong like Nuclear Winter was on me.

This is joy in a bottle. It reminds me of clean wet clothes hanging out to dry, mixed with the scent of the flowers in the yard and the fresh dewy grass in the shade. I live in AZ so it's sunny basically year-round, and it reminds me of the best parts of our (very limited) cool spring weather. This is so bright and cheerful and fresh. Also reminds me a bit of clean skin, right after someone has showered and used some kind of lovely smelling soap. I know my SO is going to love this on me, so I may have to spring for a bottle.

Got my imp order today and was glad I remembered to throw in Black Lily. I've loved the smell of lilies for quite some time, but they always go too green on me. Cobra Lily was a success because it was a less leafy/stem lily and smelled "orange" or "red", but it wasn't quite a lily scent either. Tiger Lily was lovely but a bit too honeyed for me. Black Lily certainly is the best lily scent I've tried so far. It's smooth, creamy, and floral. Seems like it'd be perfect for any occasion, whether it's going to a date, having a night in, attending a white-tie ball or a funeral. It's not too loud, not too soft, and isn't too clean, too musky, too foody, or too floral. It's not registering as particularly "dark" to me, either; it's more black in the sense that it's like a little black dress, it'll go with everything. It's just amazing, and ranks up there in my top 10 for sure.
