Wet in bottle - A light and fresh ozone scent with a breath of fresh pink girlieness. That’s the only way I can describe it. It smells pink! Wet on skin - Ozone and snow. It definitely smells like dashing down the slopes, spraying powder left and right. Dry on skin - A very faint ozone minty smell, that reminds me of Cloister Graveyard in the Snow, but it's made very fresh and fun with a sort of pink smelling girly touch. There's no other way to describe it. I feel feminine yet the snowy touch makes it fun and outdoorsy at the same time. I'm so glad I added this to my order at the last minute!

If you place an order to be picked up at Will Call, do you get frimps and/or other goodies with your order?

Wet in imp - Lavender, red musk and a tiny hint of cherry. Wet on skin - Lavender and red musk. There’s very little cherry or rose. I’m interested to see where this goes. Dry on skin - Powdery lavender. A tiny bit of rose. I wish there was more musk and cherry. Bummer.

I layered Agony of Heartache over Temple Viper and it was a fabulous combination. The spiciness of Temple Viper blended nicely with the herby Agony. One of my friends couldn't stop huffing my wrist!

Wet in bottle - Peach, ambergris, honey, patchouli and a sharp, dark cocoa scent that is not as sweet as I expected. The patchouli gives this an earthy tone. Wet on skin - I’m amping the peach at first, but it’s tempered by a patchouli honey base. There’s a bit of ambergris and hardly any cocoa. Dry on skin - A soft, peachy, ambergris and light patchouli delight. This is sexy and delicious. I LOVE it!

Wet in bottle - Cocoa, honey, vanilla, peach and an earthy bark smell. Wet on skin - More cocoa and chocolate, with vanilla, honey, and the mix of the bark and starfruit. This is sort of odd. I’m interested to experience the drydown. Dry on skin - cocoa and chocolate, but there's the honey/starfruit/peach smell that oddens this. I wish I were just chocolate, instead of fruity chocolate. Swap!

Wet in imp - Rum, salty sea air and spices. Very similar to Plunder. Wet on skin - A salty, boozy scent. Dry on skin - Still similar to plunder with the rum/spices combo, but the ships wood has come out and the “prostitute’s body warmed-perfume” as well, which is positively delicious.

Wet in imp - A thick, dark woody scent. Wet on skin - A sharp, thick piercing scent like cedar or wooden pencils. This is very masculine. Dry on skin - A faint, dark, woody and rooty scent that is considerably less sharp than after initial application. There is a bit of spice and I think vetiver, but I'm not sure. I don't think I want to smell like spicy roots, so I will put this in the swap pile!

Wet in imp - Pine, chilled night air, cedar and church incense. Wet on skin - Cedar and pine, very strong. A tiny bit of church incense. Dry on skin - The pine/cedar knockout combo has calmed down some, and have pleasantly blended with the church incense. If this weren't so similar to Cathedral I'd probably get a bottle.

Wet in bottle - Wow, a chocolate and peppermint candy cane! Delicious and minty! Wet on skin - Peppermint with less chocolate. Not as much throw as I would have expected with the mint. Dry on skin - A pepperminty vanilla-y chocolatey plastic smell. It also doesn't last more than a few hours, and burned my skin a little bit. Swap pile!

Wet in imp - Pumpkin, lime and pink grapefruit, with the tiniest hint of lemon verbena. Wet on skin - Earthy pumpkin tempered with the citrus fresh sweetness of lime and grapefruit. Dry on skin - Sadly the fresh citrus has faded to a tiny lemony ping with a great big bawomp of pumpkin. It's unique but I don't think I need a bottle of this. I prefer the nice blend of pumpkin with spices in Samhain 2008.

Wet in imp - There is a dusty scent at first, then cream, beeswax and what smells like lemon. Wet on skin - Beeswax, lemon and a slightly sour note that I suspect is the cream and dusty wool. Dry on skin - Thankfully the sour note has faded and there is a creamy sort of aftershave-y fresh masculine scent with a tiny bit of wool and dust. It's interesting, but a little masculine for me. Swap pile!

Wet in imp - Aloes, fir and cedar with the faintest hint of plum and sage. Wet on skin - Aloe, sage, fir and cedar. This is a little sharper on my skin than in the imp. I get a tiny bit of juniper berry but no plum or cherry. Dry on skin - A sharp, piercing sage/aloe/cedar scent. This gives me a horrible headache. I'm really bummed, because I was excited about the idea of the scent but my skin just seems to hate it.

Wet in imp - Patchouli, pumpkin, clove and nutmeg. Wet on skin - Yummmm! Pumpkin, clove, nutmeg, apples and the barest hint of patchouli, but it's very light. My god, this is amazing! I hope the dry down is as good. Dry on skin - A warm pumpkin/spices scent that is darkened a little by the patchouli. The apple doesn't last that long, but what's left is positively delicious. Decent throw, and its strength is pretty good on my wrist 3 hours later. Full bottle for sure!

Wet in bottle - Maple syrup, pancake batter, a very light cream and a hint of berries. Wet on skin - Pancakes and butter with maple syrup. The berry is very faint. Dry on skin - Mmmm, the boysenberry has really come out! It totally smells like delicious whole wheat berry pancakes with butter and maple syrup! I love that the syrup isn't oaty like Gunpowder ended up on me. How does Beth make this magic???

Wet in bottle - Very mild rose, violets, vanilla and mandarin. The rose is not thick or cloying and is very fresh. Wet on skin - A delicious mingling of roses, citrus, white tea and a hint of violet. It's sexy and elegant. I'm eagerly anticipating the drydown! Dry on skin - The red musk and white tea are really prominant now, along with the vanilla cream. This is a gorgeous, complex scent. I can't believe it's many stages! LOVE IT.

Wet in bottle - At first there is snake oil, but subsequent sniffs reveal the lavender, fennel and lily of the valley. I don't get any dorian (yet). I definitely get the snake oil plus very light lavender, fennel and lily of the valley. To me this smells like a fresh floral snake oil. Wet on skin - Snake oil and a tiny bit of floral and lavender to mellow it. Dry on skin - This has mellowed to allow some of Dorian's sweet tea to mingle with the snake oil. The scent undulates in and out so it's not constant. I get a tiny bit of florals (lily of the valley and vanilla flower). Overall this blend softens snake oil considerably and smells divine. A wonderful tribute to a lovely little girl!

Wet in bottle - Fig, beeswax, amber and whatever sweet sufganiyot is. Wet on skin - The fig and sweet sufganiyot are tempered by the beeswax and amber. I also get fig newton. We’ll see how this dries down. Dry on skin - A fig newton-y beeswax. It definitely is an evocative scent, but I just don’t know if I want to smell like a fig newton. Swap pile!

Wet in bottle - Coffee grounds, incense and pancakes. A very sinister breakfast! Wet on skin - Ooh, I can smell the grass now, along with the coffee and the pancakes. The addition of the grass note lightens this scent a little. I still think it’s yummy, though. Dry on skin - The coffee and pancakes are much more pronounced and there’s a maple element that is similar to Gunpowder but it’s not so oaty. We’re definitely back to evil pancakes and I love it! Plenty of throw, too. -
Wet in bottle - White musk, orange blossom and apricot. Feminine and sweet. Wet on skin - Apricot is very strong, with light orange blossom and very little white musk. Dry on skin - A very pretty and feminine scent. On me there's a nice mix of apricot and orange blossom that is tempered by the white musk.

Oil recommendations for studying, learning, exams
gingiemay replied to summer's topic in Recommendations
I'm curious if there's any scents that people use to aid focus in studying or concentrating. I tested SGA for the first time and wore it to the library, so now smelling it makes me think of working (and smelling delicious). I wore it to my Statistics test last week and it seemed to do well. I'm currently wearing Cathedral in the library, which doesn't seem to be helping or hindering... I just smell like yummy resins and wood. -
Wet in imp - Roses, apple blossom, thyme and mint. A sweetly fresh floral. Wet on skin - Minty soap. Bleargh. Dry on skin - Thankfully the soap has calmed down, and it’s a rosy floral, with the violet, daisy and columbine. No apple blossom or mint, sadly. Swap pile, ho!

Wet in imp - Ginger and a beautiful vanilla floral. Wet on skin - Very similar to in the imp. Dry on skin - Most vanilla floral with a tiny bit of ginger. This scent is light and effervescent. it is the teeniest bit powdery on me, so I think I will stick to my imp for now.
-
Wet in imp - Aquatic notes, fresh grass and a very light floral. Wet on skin - Very strong aquatic notes and a grassy/floral undertone. I can't differentiate between the tulips and peonies. Dry on skin - A pretty, fresh floral with aquatic and grassy notes. To my nose this doesn't smell that different from some commercial perfumes I have tried, so it will go in the swap pile.

Wet in bottle - Plum, cherry blossom, bamboo reed and a hint of black pine. Wet on skin - very similar to the scent in the bottle, mostly plum-cherry but with a darker not quite so sweet undertone. Dry on skin - This disappears very fast... the bamboo and black pine fade quickest, leaving the plum and cherry blossom. After one hour this is gone completely.
