This one is indeed very difficult to decribe for some reason. When I first tried it on, it was incredibly familiar to me, I just can't place the familiar notes!! I agree that there is a general resinous/woodsy base to the blend. But it is very sweet, and it's that lovely sweetness that I am having trouble idetifying. I'm thinking perhaps there is amber there, with a lovely floral that smells a bit like jasmine to me. It's a sticky sweetness that almost goes a little bubble gum on me. Like I said, this intensely reminds me of another BPAL, I just can't think what. Oh!! I'm now thinking this is reminding me of Hungry Ghost Moon. Maybe I'm just crazy All in all, this is a beautiful blend. I can't imagine anyone sniffing this and not thinking: Yuuuummmm!!

This is a very dry, crackling, woodsy smell. The top wooded note smells like those cedar eggs you put in your sock drawer as air fresheners. It is a clean, bold, strong wooded note. As this dries down. I can detect a hint of something a bit sweeter underneath. There is something a bit fruity there, perhaps orangey, but it is so subtle it is hard to distinguish. This is a strong scent with a lot of throw. I'm not too into the wooded ones, but I'm sure this is lovely on the right person.

Oooo, this is yummy! My first thought: cherries and cinnamon. Upon further investigation, I've decided there is a pleasant woodsy note in there as well as something that smells a bit like almonds. It's a pretty complex blend, with many levels, but overall I would classify this as a cinnamon/foody blend. The wooded note is maybe oak? On the dry down, this reminds me of those stands in the mall that sell the roasted cinnamon nuts. This is lovely, it is strong and has good throw and lasting power. Very nice

Oh this is lovely, I love BPAL that smells like this!! It's a dark, deep incensey scent. There is a very dark top note, black patchouli or frankincense perhaps? There is a lovely, creamy/foody undertone, much like the one in Snake Oil, but a bit on the spicier side. There must be a bit of vanilla in there somewhere, something is sweetening up the low notes. I would compare this to Snake Oil, Tarot: Judgement, and the TAL blend Fiery Command. This is a nice strong blend with quite a bit of throw. (I should know, I spilled the imp all over the place!) This is definitely beautiful enough to buy a bottle.

This is a very strong, sharp lavendar blend. The jasmine and the honeysuckle are there, but just barely. They sweeten Twilight up a little bit, but it remains almost straight lavendar on me. I do like lavendar blends, but this just doesn't work well on me. It does make me feel a bit sleepy though.

This is a dark, twisted take on a white floral blend. The lily note and the geranium notes are on top, but the geranium is a more bitter floral and keeps the floral notes from being sweet at all. I do love black orchid, but I can't smell it at all in this blend. The cedarwood lends a sharpness to the blend that doesn't quite agree with me. I like all these notes individually, but together they don't work on my skin. This is a very strong blend for a floral, and has quite a bit of throw. Nice, but not for me.

This is a very soft, smoky, incensey, resiney red scent. The jasmine note is prevalent, and it lends a smooth, sweet heady feel to the blend. The redness comes from the resinous notes; like a heady red opium note. There is a bare hint of cinnamon underneath, and it gives Uruk a tiny little bit of spicy kick. This is a lovely smoke blend, and I really like it. It's sort of that comforting type of head shop scent; where there has been so much incense burned that it seeps into every pore of the place. There is not a lot of throw, but it's certainly worth a closer sniff.

This is a complex, many leveled blend. The first thing I notice is a strong black cherry note on top; a deep, rich fruity red scent. The next sniff: lavender and white musk join forces to give the cherry note a run for his money. Then, on the dry down, this magically morphing scent decides to smell like roses, with a shady, deeply sexy back drop. The rosewood note keeps the rosey-ness from smelling too feminine. Wow, this is a really unique one. I like this very much, and I think it would be sinfully sexy on either a guy or a girl. Lovely!!!!!

When first applied, this smells very piney fresh on me. A clean, bright, holiday sweet pine with a fruity undertone. The longer I wear this, the more the verbena note comes out; I always seem to pull the verbena out of everything. This now smells like a lemony/citrus blend with a piney green undertone. This surely smells like Christmas; I feel like I'm standing next to the tree under the mistletoe. This is a beautiful blend for the holiday season.

This is the second soap I've tried, after Snake Oil. This is gorgeous! It doesn't smell exactly like Dorian does out of the bottle, it has a more prominant tea note in soap form and the vanilla is a light undertone. This is one of the best BPAL scents of all time, how could this not smell wonderful? It's not quite as strongly scented as the Snake Oil soap, and not quite as creamy. (Which makes sense, since Dorian is not quite as decadent a scent). This soap leaves me feeling very clean, conditioned and relaxed. The scent did not cling to my skin for long afterward. I adore the idea of BPAL soap, and I love this as I'm sure I'll love them all. I can't wait to see what future scents will be made into soaps.

This is one of the strangest blends I've ever sniffed! The first thing I notice when I sniff it is a most agreeable note; I think it's the combination of the tobacco and the gin. That disappears almost instantly, and is immediately replaced by a cantaloupe melon note. The melon stays on top for a few minutes, and I thought this was going to be a fruity blend. Then, the pepper note comes screaming out on the dry down, and it becomes a strange combo of melon, tobacco and pepper. This is definitely not agreeing with my skin chemistry!! Strange things are happening, too bad.

A gorgeous coconut blend! This reminds me very much of Milk Moon, the coconut and milky notes are very similar. This is a little gentler than Milk Moon; there is a cooler, crisper, watery undertone in Obatala. This smells like coconut milk and cucumber water to me, just a lovely combination. This is a very pure, smooth white blend. It is a soft blend with medium to light throw. I love this, but not quite as much as I love Milk Moon. If I ever run out of MM, though, this will be the perfect replacement. Very pretty!

A respectable gentleman's scent: lavender, iris, white tea, verbena and white sandalwood. This is almost straight verbena on me; very very citrysey/ lemony. A very crisp, bright, clean, yellow scent. Very strong lemon with a shimmering white sandalwood in the background. I think this would be nice on a man or a woman. It's a strong scent, especially when first applied. This isn't quite my thing, but it is a nice scent just the same.

Oh, this is pretty; it reminds me very much of Beltane. This is a very light, feminine, sweet, spring like floral scent. I think the honeysuckle is on top for me. I know there are no tulips in this, but I keep smelling something that my nose interprets as tulip. This makes me think of pink florals smeared over a soft green canvas. It's a little bit powdery on my, but that doesn't bother me as much as some people. This is a softer blend with medium throw. I'm a bigger fan of Beltane than this, although this is very close for me. Pretty

Wow, I don't know if it's just my allergies, but this one gave me a sneezing fit!! This blend goes almost all vetiver on me, unfortunately, because vetiver is one of my skin's worst enemies. There is a very dark, smoky feel to Lenore. The lemon peel lies just below the vetiver, and gives the undertones a light, citrus kick. There are some deep florals floating through the background. This is a strong blend (sneeze!) with quite a bit of throw, as vetiver blends usually are. This is definitely not my kind of thing, but I do think this beautifully represents the idea of Lenore.

This is a very unique blend. It's very bitter on my skin. The chocolate note is a very dark, unsweetened note, like baker's chocolate. The juniper berry note is right underneath, and is not a particularly sweet berry note, but rather evil smelling. I can also pick out the deepness of the bitter walnut note, with adds a rich, nutty quality. This is quite strong, with a lot of throw. Unfortunately, it's just not reacting with my chemistry very well, and it smells quite strange on me. A lovely idea just the same.

This is a very soft, subtle, smooth, sweet blend. The white musk is on top on my skin; it's a very innocent and clean musk note. The herbs and florals are all perfectly blended to form the under current. This is a light green scent for me, and I think it would be sexy on either male or female. It's so soft, I really thought there was an amber note in there somewhere. It has that kind of powdery effect on me that sometimes happens with amber blends. I like this one, but not enough to wear regularly.

This is a much cleaner scent than I imagined it would be. The red musk and the leather is on top, but the leather is not an overpowering note, it's rather crisp. The wooded notes are underneath, and they are very clean and pleasant. Sort of like those good smelling cedar eggs you put in your sock drawers. This is a very dark and sinister scent and very masculine. This has a lot of throw and is a very strong oil; a little goes a long way. This is definitely not my type of thing, but I don't dislike it as much as I thought I would.

This is a lovely, soft, red scent. It reminds me very much of Dragon's Milk and Blood Amber. There is a dragon's blood note dominating the blend, with a soft, lovely, creamy, milky undertone. I detect something that smells like amber as well, and undertones of soft florals. It doesn't have a lot of throw, and stays close to the skin. I love dragon's blood blends, and this is just lovely. I like this very much

Wow! Just, wow! This is some good stuff. I love it at first sniff! Upon application: the first thing I notice is a spiced apple note coated in almonds; almost an apple butter smell. The apple note is deliciously red and crunchy; very fresh and inviting. This is so complex! Every time I sniff this I smell something new. The next layer of scent is fig combined with lilies, which sounds strange to me but really works. The honey notes runs underneath the blend sort of stringing all the notes together with a gorgeous creaminess. The foodiness element of this blend reminds me a bit of a toned down Hellcat combined with Punkie night. This is fantastic, exactly my sort of thing. It has strong throw and lasting power. I love this, and I will definitely be ordering a bottle.

Gorgeous! So beautifully sweet, seductive and floral. The top notes on me are the french vanilla, the tonka bean, and the orchid. I really love orchid blends, and this is arguably the best one I have ever sniffed. The vanilla note is particularly beautiful, and I don't know if I've ever smelled th lab's french vanilla note before, but it is noticably different from their vanilla and vanilla bean notes. This is such a lovely combination, I just adore it. I am so glad I ordered a bottle, I will certainly use this often. It doesn't have a ton of throw or lasting power, but it's worth it to re apply.

This is very soft and clean, almost a bit soapy on me. It's a muted floral blend, and the lily is definitely the top note on me. I can definitely smell the green fig right behind the lily of the valley, and it gives the blend a geenish, almost herbal tone. The white sandalwood comes out a lot more an the dry down, and the tone of the whole thing shifts to much more woodsy. This is a very soft blend with weak throw. This is quite unique, and while it's not really my type of thing, it's very pretty.

A contemporary incarnation of the tarot’s Queen of Swords. A card of decisive action, strength of Will, progressive action, justice, and, sometimes, revenge. The scent is a sophisticated, deep, and smoky floral with a decidedly exotic spice. Moroccan myrrh and black amber, with muguet, opoponax, deep black plum, cyclamen, galbanum, and wild blackberry softened by pear blossom and a swirl of exotic wood notes. Upon application: Very nice, deep, fruity, spicy and sexy all at the same time. This reminds me very much of Blood Countess; it has that same deep, sexy berry thing going on. The dark plum note is on top, and there is a swirling vortex of spices and florals floating underneath. Dry down: The black amber starts to show itself more. The plum takes a step back and the sweetness of the blend comes out more. The sweet, swirling florals become a touch more apparent. This is a soft scent and doesn't have a lot of throw, but its so sexy it doesn't matter. This is just beautiful! If it was possible to buy a 5 ml, I certainly would. Alas, I always love the rare ones!

Lovely, dangerous, slick, and bitterly cold: chilly white sleet-like notes with a hint of vetiver, a breath of smoky asphalt, and winter wind. This smells exactly like pavement, vetiver, and mint. This is a very unusual one! When I sniff it the first thing that comes to mind is slushy, dirty winter streets at night time. This is probably the most perfect representation of Black Ice anyone ever could have conjoured. It's almost creepy, most definitely wintery and somewhat earthy. Interesting, but not my thing

A dry, parched, yet soft dragon's blood blend. The sandalwood notes are are very muted and almost sweet. I thought the undertones were resin or smoky when I first sniffed this. It's not at all woodsy; just smooth and a touch earthy. I like this, it's very nice and subtle. I wish it had a bit more throw, but it is lovely just the same.
