    Moon Rose

This was one of my first BPAL loves, I can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet! This is a gorgeous rose scent. It's light and pink and innocent. There's a gorgeous, dewy, ethereal undertone that reminds me of sparkling forest glens and midnight trysts. It's so light and clean and feminine; definitely a must have for all rose lovers. Simply divine, detined to be a BPAL classic.

    Twenty-One

This is refreshing, effervescent, and crisp. Not as boozy as I expected from some of the reviews; just really fun and kickin'. I like this type of boozy note that Beth uses; it's the same one I enjoy so much in The Hamptons and Swank. It's not a scent I would sniff and think, "oh my god that smells like booze!" No, it's just something that would wake me up and make me feel clean and flirty. I like this one, not enough to buy a bottle, but I think I'll hold onto my imp.

    Parlement of Foules

Gorgeous! This is right up there with Venus as one of the best BPAL rose blends of all time. It's such a pure, unbelievably tantalizing rose note. It's like the equivalent of the Rose Red red note in white. I only wish it lasted longer, it fades pretty quickly on me, but I still love it. I will definitely be keeping this lovely, romantic, feminine scent.

    Jupiter

A woodsy, spicy, earthy blend. This is quite nice; I can see the comparisons to pencil shavings, but really it's a lot better than that. It's a calm, soothing woody note, and it has a soft, almost creamy undertone. There is a hint of herbally/spiciness that gives it a little bit of a kick. I think I'll hold onto my bottle for awhile.

    Saturn

What the hell does this smell like? I have no idea! It's unique; a little powdery, with an earthy/resiny undertone. Maybe a sweeter type of incense, like frankincense? It's a complex scent, and it smells more like *expensive* powder on me than anything else. Not really for me, but a nice scent just the same, and certainly in a class of its own!

    Uranus

Whoa, overwhelmingly cinnamon! Why do so many of the planetary oils smell like cinnamon? This is a red hot, in your face, ass kickin type cinnamon note. There's a funky undertone, something that doesn't agree with me, maybe clove? It actually smells a bit like leather to me, but I know it's probably something woodsy playing tricks on my nose. Definitely not for me, but the boy loves it, and has claimed my bottle. (I think he just wants to be able to say he's wearing Uranus )

    Peony Moon

Whoa, now this is an ass kickin' floral! One of the strongest floral BPAL scents ever! A very dark pink scent, the peony runs up and boots ya in the nose as soon as I put it on. It's a gorgeous, over the top perfumey peony note. The plum blossom and water reeds are just barely there; a faint breath of a sweet, watery undertone. I love this moon, it's so nice to have a floral with some balls!

    Monster Bait: Closet

Wow, this is a lot more bourbon blackberry than it is red velvet cake. The top note is very boozy and berrilicious, almost to the point where it goes a little bit cough syrupy on me...almost. There is a rich, gorgeous undertone of smooth, foody buttercream layered over decadent red velvet cake (my favorite cake!). I do wish the cake notes were on top rather than the boozy ones, but still a nice scent. After I've worn it awhile, the bite of the bourbon blackberry fades and leaves a lovely creamy, cakey essence. All in all, not quite what I expected, but fun just the same. Oh, and I still can't say the words "Monster Bait" without giggling

    Monster Bait: Underbed

Heaven in a bottle! Gorgeous, strong cocoa drizzled cassia over a bed of vanilla - coconut!! Unbelievably delicious! I just can't stop sniffing my wrist! I love foody scents like this, and this one is awesome because it's really STRONG and long lasting; this makes it an A+ in my book! I am definitely going to have to order another bottle, thank god there's still time!!

    Dee

Oh my sexy! I'm usually not big on leather scents, but this is a really soft, lovely, non offensive type of leather scent. The tonka is a lovely undershadow, it's slightly sweet and yummy. I can smell the soft wooded notes in the background, and they just lend to the gentleness of the masculinity in this blend. I love this, I have got to try this on my man!

    Intrigue

I love this one, I can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet! This is a gorgeous, dark cocoa scent. The cocoa is the first thing I notice, and it's undershadowed by a beautiful, fruity fig note. This is cocoa straight out of the spice cabinet, and it's strong and sexy. I love Beth's fig note, and fig combined with anything is good, especially when it's chocolate! This is a lovely, unique scent, and I really like it.

    Ra

A bright, spicy, floral blend. There is a deep, resiny sort of note there, like a strong spicy incense. There is a bright underlying floral there as well, could it be frangipani? This is a nice blend, but just not my cup of tea.
  13. QueenFae

    Nephilim

A beautifully blended, complex earthy/foody scent. The fig is definitely on top, followed closely by the patchouli and cypress. It's a lot foodier on me than I imagined from the description, I really love Beth's fig note. There is so much going on in this blend, it's like sniffing a decadent cook's spice cabinet over and over. Very lovely, unisex, and I imagine it's pretty long lasting judging by the ingredients. Nice!

    Sea of Glass

A light, pure, crystalline aquatic. I actualy like this a lot more than I like most aquatic blends; this one is so utterly.....clean! It's definitely a white scent, with some very unoffensive florals and an almost powdery fresh undertone. This is how I would like my clean linens to smell A very nice scent, probably not something I would wear very often.

    Alone

A very vibrant, spicy scent. I would have sworn there was cinnamon in this, because that's what the top note smells like on me. I'm not sure what cardamom smells like, but I can detect the red sandalwood and mandarin. The patchouli really lends to the earthy, spicy feel of the blend, but it doesn't smell like patchouli usually does. This is an intriguing scent, but not quite for me. I think the boy will really like it though, and he'll probably snag my bottle.

    Venus

This is gorgeous! It's an insanely pink rose scent, complimented by a hint of fresh greeness. It's stronger and a bit sharper than rose blends typically are, which makes it even better. This is definitely the type of rose that makes you think of Valentine's day, weddings, and all things frilly and feminine. It is certainly appropriately representative of Venus. I love it, its beautiful and I'm so glad I bought a bottle

    The Premature Burial

Oppressive darkness, expressed through black orchid and patchouli, smothered by wet soil, a coffin’s teakwood, and the funereal gloom of cypress. This smells completely different than I expected! I was thinking it would be all gloom and doom, but it actually comes out a little foody on me! It's lovely, the black orchid is on top, and it has a lovely, rich, earthy smooth undertone. It must be the cypress and teakwood that is agreeing so nicely with my chemistry, I didn't expect them to smell so rich and full. I really like this one, and I think I need a 5 ml!

    The Masque

There are so many ingredients in this one I'm honestly not sure what I'm smelling!! I think I can pick out the two florals, the carnation and the rose. I don't detect any honey, but the incensey notes are definitely there. No clove, thankfully, and maybe a wee hint of amber. There is unfortunately a note which is spoiling all the lovely ones for me, I think it must be the tobacco. It sort of stomps out all the yumminess of the other notes, and makes it go a bit too earthy on my skin. I had high hopes for this one, but I'm glad I tested an imp before I bought a bottle.

    Usher

I can definitley smell the tea, mint and maybe a faint hint of mandarin as an afterthought. It's a little more "gloom and decay" that I usually enjoy in a scent; and while this lends nicely the the idea of Usher, it ends up smelling a little rotten on my skin. I'm a big fan of tea and currant scents, but I would categorize this as more dark and foreboding. It's like tea wrapped in freshly decayed leaves. This one didn't work out too well for me, so I will find my decant a more appreciative home.

    The Pit & The Pendulum

I haven't tried Cathedral, but I can definitely see the comparisons between this an Al Azif; they are very similar. This is a strong, resinous scent, that seems to be leaning toward masculine. It's a bit woody on me, and almost has a piney quality on my skin. The smoky/incense note is really unique and commanding; not quite "head shop," more like "ritual sacrifice." This one is really nice, and if it's like Al Azif, I suspect it will have quite a bit of throw and sticking power. I'm not sure if I need a bottle, but I'll definitely ponder my decant for awhile.

    Fortunato

A very unique blend! I think the orange and the bittersweet berry are definitely on top on my skin. The rose hip is there, but like more of an afterthought, I probably wouldn't be able to pick it out if I hadn't read the ingredients. The whole gorgeous blend is complimented by the looming black patchouli, a favorite of mine. The patchouli gives it a hint of earthiness and depth. It's hard to stick this one in a category, it's sort of a berrilicious/ incensey blend. Absolutely gorgeous!! I need a bottle!!
  22. QueenFae

    Ligeia

A really pretty, feminine floral. The jasmine is definitely on top, and is strong and commanding. I can definitely smell the juniper berry and the rose geranium as well, but they are slightly undershadowed by the strength of the jasmine. This is a very nice blend, and it seems to have a bit more sticking power than most florals do, perhaps because of the juniper? I don't know if I need a full bottle, but I think I'll hold onto my decant for awhile. Beautiful!!

    Morella

Usually I'm a fan of civet scents, but the civet is not on top in this blend. It's a very herbal, sagey blend. It almost smells like violet on me; that dark, earthy floral tone. I guess sage doesn't like my skin very much, or maybe it's the orris. I had high hopes for this one, but I'm glad I tried an imp before I bought a bottle. I can see how this would be really nice on the right person, though.

    Berenice

A very clean, white scent! Before I read the ingredients, I was sure there was green tea in it, but I think it must have been the aloe I was detecting. The top notes are green, herbally, and fresh; a little bit sharp, but in a good, energizing way. The lily and the amber are a soft, lovely undershadow to the greeness. The linens rest gently underneath all the other notes, barely there, but they add to the complexity of the blend. A very lovely blend, I think I will definitely be purchasing a 5 ml before Maelstrom comes down.
  25. QueenFae

    Montresor

This one is very, very strong. It smells like a deep, rich, boozy fruitiness on the boy, but on me, straight up cherry cough syrup. Not just any cherry cough syrup, one that's loaded with a boozy alcohol note. When I sniff my wrist, all I can say is WOOOOO! Definitely not for me, I'm so glad I tried imps of the Maelstrom series before I bought anything. This one seems to work better on masculine body chemistry.
