    Sloth

Normally I really dislike vetiver blends, but this one's not bad. The black myrrh is the top note on me, and it's thick and languid and a bit on the spicey side, there's definitely a bit of a kick there. I do think this embodies Sloth quite well, it's heavy and lazy and heady. Nice, but probably not quite for me.

    The Devil

A dark, foreboding, devious scent. I'm not smelling any civet in it, like others have. It's more of a dark, mossy, earthy brown/black smell. There's a faint hint of spice in the undertone, maybe some very dark florals. On the drydown, something in it goes a bit rotten on me, ewww. But, my man loves this one and has claimed my imp for his own. It smells sexy on him.

    Kingsport

This one smells clean and manly. There's an aquatic, breezy, fresh top note. It is very masculine, and it's sort of a clean - shaven, sexy guy type of masculine. It's a dark green scent for me. It conjours images of just - showered men running on the beach. While this one's not for me, I'd like to try it on my man.

    Dunwich

Definitely smells like a bog with the faintest breath of flowers. There's an earthy, marshy, mossy top note, and it's complimented by a sweeter, greener undertone, like damp flowers in the morning. It's a green/brown scent for me, and a bit on the masculine side. Not really for me, but beautifully emcompasses it's name.

    Jailbait

Wow, really strong pink bubble gum! Smells just like pink Bazooka chewing gum, the old school kind. There is a orange/fruity undertone, and it does indeed smell just like cheap lollipops from the penny candy store. I can't detect the heady women's perfume. This one's a bit too much for me, as I've never really been a fan of the smell of bubble gum. But, it does beautifully embody it's name, and I'm sure on the right person it's irresistable.

    Shanghai

Oooh, very nice. An herbal, fresh, green/yellow scent. The green tea and honeysuckle are the top notes, with just a faint breath of lemon as an undertone. I really like this one, it's so crisp and refreshing, makes me think of drinking some lovely green tea in a just cleaned Japanese kitchen. Very nice, another beautiful smellie!

    Hetairae

Ughh, clove blends just never work for me. I smell a bit of a lovely honeyed fig, but that darn clove just swoops in and poops on all the yumminess. Ahh well, I'm sure on the right skin this would be extraordinarily delectible. Not for me

    The Queen of Hearts

A lovely, clean, white lily scent. Lilies, lilies and more lilies. It's very soft, perfumey and feminine. Not exactly what I would expect the evil Queen of Heart to smell like, but very pretty just the same. I'm honestly not sure what stephanotis smells like, so I don't know if I can detect it or not. I can't really smell any of the cherry. It's a nice one, quite girly.

    Hunger

This one comes out smelling like cinnamon on me, strange. I can't really smell any orange in it, but the narcissus is the shadowy undertone. It's definitely foody, and sexy, but really rather hard to describe since my skin took the liberty of morphing all the notes. I'm still undecided about this one on me, but I'm sure this is killer on some people.

    Grand Guignol

Yup, smells just like apricot brandy. The top apricot note reminds me of those containers of dried apricots you can buy at the grocery store. This one goes really boozy on me, perhaps a little too boozy for me. It's a little sharp and pungent for me, but a lovely idea just the same.

    Aureus

I think I was expecting this one to smell more like an amber scent, sort of like the lion. Incensey smells usually have darker connotations for me, as this one does. It's extremely strong and incensey, heavy on the patchouli and very resiny. I think it's a bit much for me to wear, but would probably be an awesome room scent. It's very head shop like, and I think the only one I've really liked like this so far is Depraved. Oh well, off to the swaps.

    Blood Rose

A beautiful, red rosey scent with a kick. The red rose is top note, which is always fine by me, and it's slightly debauched by a lovely, almost fruity wine undertone. The wine stikes me more as a sangria smell than an alcoholy merlot smell. It's really pretty, I would categorize it as a heady women's perfume type scent. I like almost all Beth's rose blends, and this one is no exception.

    The Lion

This one's a bit spicier tha I imagined it would be, but it's very pretty. The top notes are red, exotic spices, and the amber is more of a soft, golden undertone. I think the amber fans will love this one, as I do. A perfect embodiment of The Lion; bold, golden, strong and complex. Lovely, I will enjoy my impie!

    Morocco

A lovely, soothing, intoxicating blend. The carnation and the spices are the top notes on me. It's a feminine, spicey, musky, red type of scent. I think it perfectly embodies Morocco. It makes me envision exotic beautiful women in brightly colored garb. Very yummy, I will certainly enjoy my imp.

    Baron Samedi

This smells absolutely nothing like rum on me, unfortunately. When I sniffed it in the bottle, I smelled a wonderful, foody, almond scent. As soon as I dabbed some on, it turned to a nasty rancid smell. It's really boozy, not in the good way, and there is this underlying rotteness that just does not agree with my chemistry. Oh well, there has to be at least a few that don't work, or else I'd be even more broke.

    Manila

This one's really light and sweet. I smell a whole lotta banana leaf, with a subtle, green/blossomy undertone. I like the scent and all, it just fades so fast on me. I just dabbed some on my wrist 20 minutes ago, and I can already barely smell it. It makes me think of tropical banana trees. Nice, but short lived unfortunately.

    Crown of Success

I was lucky enough to score an imp of this one off of ebay. It's an earthy/mossy type scent, one that seems more on the masculine side to me. I'm pretty sure I smell vetiver, and perhaps sandalwood or oakmoss. It's a dark green/brown scent, with a hint of smokiness in the base. My fiance loves it, and although it's not for me, I feel so lucky to have tried this rare TAL blend.

    Yemayá

Of course I have fallen madly in love with this one because I'll probably never be able to get a bottle! It's awesome for a foody like me; strong ripe berries and melon, almost like a watermelon jolly rancher. A lovely sweet, juicy undertone of cantaloupe or strawberries ar something equally as decadent. Oh, the tragedy of BPAL, how I long for a 5 ml, I will cherish my imp! This is one of my favorite scents ever. Bravo Beth, you rock!

    Black Rose

A sultry, dirty, swanky, lounge singer type rose. It's beautiful, I am continuously amazed at all the cool things Beth manages to do with roses. The base for this one is a strong, pink, perfumey rose. It's totally debauched by a black, smoky, sensuality that creeps up underneath. This is one that will hang in the room after you've left, a reminder of just how sexy you are.

    Gomorrah

I was sure there was cedar or sandalwood in this one, so I was really surprised when i looked at the description. It comes out really woodsy/incensey on me, I guess it's maybe the black herbs that are creating this effect. It makes me think of sultans and belly dancers and smoky, lusty harems. Might be good as a room scent, but just not for me.
  21. QueenFae

    Cthulhu

A deeply aquatic, cologney type scent. It actually reminds me a bit of Cool Water or something like that. It's soft, sexy, clean, and gentle. I'm not sure if I would wear this, but I think it would be really sexy on a guy.
  22. QueenFae

    Shub-Niggurath

I was surprised when I found out there was ginger in this, because it comes out really citrusey on me. I was thinking strong orange with a green herbaly, maybe even lime-like base. Now I realize that my skin morphs ginger into citrus, weird! It's a lovely, innovative, fascinating scent, but I'm not sure if it's for me. The longer I wear it, the more it softens up, and it might turn into something that suits me a bit more.

    Chimera

Oh my goodness, I never thought that I would be able to replace Sugar Cookie with anything, but Chimera just might be the ticket. It's Sugar Cookie's little sister; lovely, sugary cinnamon with a milky, honeyed base. Absolutely divine. Maybe even a little better than Sugar Cookie because it's not so overpowering. It's softer, creamier. What a beauty, cinnamon lovers, here ya go!

    Arachne

This is a soft, green, herbaly clean scent for me. It's like a mossy, green, flowering forest floor. It's one of those scents that makes me think of soft whispers, warm breath, and secrets. It's elusive and airy, like when someone leaves a faint trail of frangrance in the room after they leave. I like it a lot more than I thought I would, and I think I'll enjoy my impie.

    Tulzscha

Smells like wrigley's spearmint gum fresh out of the wrapper. Mint, mint, and more mint. A very light green, strong, burn your sinuses out type of scent. Unfortunately, mints are just not for me, and this one gives me a headache. I will find my bottle a home where he will be well appreciated.
