    Milk Moon 2007

Yum! At first sniff, this smelled like a pina colada to me. The grape, milk and fig are the dominant notes. This is a fruity milk scent; very beachy and fun for me. If i didn't know better I would swear there was lime in there; maybe it's the white grapes that are tricking my nose. The original Milk Moon is one of my all time favorite scents, so naturally I still like that one better. But, this version is lovely, and I do like it very much. I will certainly keep and enjoy my bottle. I wish it had a little bit more throw, as it does fade fast on me. Lovely!

    Monster Bait: Ventriloquist Dummy

In the bottle: sharp, dry wood with patchouli On my skin: Immediately after I applied this I sniffed a sharp wood note and a lingering hint of apricot. The apricot is gone really fast, and there is not a trace of fruitiness left. The wooded notes in this are super sharp, much sharper than I bargained for. They remind me of the wooden note in Pulcinella and Teresina. The patchouli note is quite prominant as well. There is a sweet undertone, with hints of caramel and sugar. The undertone is not as foody as I expected it to be, but rather just a generalized soft golden sweetness. This is not quite what I had hoped for, and I am just devastated about it. The sharpness of the woods is just not working on my skin. I will try this at a different time and see if it grows on me. It's a very strong and long lasting scent.

    Monster Bait: Bloody Mary

This is great!! A sweet, red, fruity, sugary scent. This smells very much like cherry when it's first applied; a dark, evil, over- ripe cherry. There is a beautiful creamy, sugary, white undertone, but the deep fruits are still center stage. On the dry down: The cherry note mellows out a bit, and the lovely white creaminess becomes the main attraction. This stage reminds me of a white frosted cherry cupcake. Just beautiful!! This is certainly my favorite of the three new Monster Bait formulas. I love it, I am so glad to have a bottle!!

    Peitho

This smells like a sweet, sweet jasmine and lily scent over a slight vanilla base. This is an extraordinarily lovely jasmine blend; the floral aspect of Peitho is simply irresisitable and undeniably feminine. There is a slight powdery feel to the undertones, but not enough to spoil the richness of the scent for me. Gosh, this is just gorgeous! The more I sniff my wrist, the more I like it. There is a slightly sharp, green/ aquatic edge in there somewhere. I really love this, and I'm not usually one for the strongly floral blends. This smells divine on me, and I am considering a 5 ml. I don't know how long this lasts, but the little bit that I tried on my wrist has a lot of throw.

    Destroying Angel

This is a very sweet, herbal scent over a rich, deep earthy brown. There is a definite dustiness to the soil note; it's more like aged, dried dirt, like you'd find in a basement. This certainly conjours images of evil mushrooms; very evil mushrooms! This is a lighter scent that you have to be close up to smell. Not my type of thing, but very interesting.

    Quincey Morris

Sweet pear and vanilla under a very strong, rich brown leather note. The leather definitely dominates this blend, and it smells very much like horse tack. This is a very masculine blend; it smelled very good on my husband and the leather scent lasted all night. This is not my kind of thing, but the hubbie likes it a lot, so I'm sure he'll hijack my decant.

    Ochosi

This is lovely, sweet, light and grassy. This is a sweet herbal blend; sweet in the same way Roadhouse is. The sweet plant note in this reminds me a bit of the dandelion note in roadhouse. This is certainly a fresh green scent; it reminds me of sweet clover on an innocent spring day. The sweetness in this blend is positively enchanting; so addictive I can't stop sniffing my wrist. This blend conjours images of flower faeries, woodsprites, and pixies. I think people who like Beltane, Roadhouse, and Litha will like this. This doesn't have a ton of throw, but it so lovely close up. I really love this, and I am seriously coinsidering getting myslef a 5 ml.

    R.M. Renfield

First impressions: Sharp, earthy, strong, mossy, herbal, brown. This is an unusual one, I'm having a hard time identifying what notes I'm smelling. When this dries down a bit, the patchouli decides to show itself, and it becomes a bit more pleasant smelling. The intial stage is very sour and peculiar. There is still a strange sharpness to the dry down that is not really agreeing with me. The neroli perhaps? It smells a bit old and musty on me. This is a strong scent; definitely dark and masculine. This is not quite right on me.

    Phantasm

This delicate, spectral perfume gives rise to an eerie distortion of of the senses. It bestows an ephemeral, ghostly, and truly haunting quality to your presence. Green tea, lemon verbena, jasmine and neroli. Whoa lemon! Almost all lemon on me, with a hint of florals in the background. Unfortunately, this smells just like lemon Pledge on me; and has gone the way of June Gloom. (also bad on my skin). I just do not wear lemon scents well! A lot of throw, though; strong for a lemon blend. Definitely not for me!

    Shango

This is sweet, fruity and wonderful. The top notes on me are pineapple, coconut, banana, and pepper. While this is a fruitilicious blend, the pepper note lends a darker, more complex feel and makes this a bit sexier. It's like a lovely tropical frozen drink rimmed with cinnamon. It's very red, throbbing, and alluring. This is beautiful, I wish it had a bit more throw, but I really like it just the same. Unlike any other fruity blend.

    The Agony of Longing

This is lovely, light and feminine. The top note on me is a pale pear, but it is closely followed by the rose note. On the drydown, the pear relaxes and the rose and freesia dominate. I can detect a hint of violet in the background, but it's not enough to ruin the blend for me. This is a very white, wispy, haunting scent. Although the pear note dominates, it's not a traditionally fruity scent. Usually fruity blends are uplifting to me, but this is certainly a melancholy scent. This unfortunately has very light throw and does not last long at all on me. I like it, it's lovely.

    Morgause

This is a very dark, sinister floral. This definitely conjours images of night and it's many creeping creatures. This smells mainly of violets on me, but there is certainly an array of other evil flowers in the background. There is also a unique "musty" quality to the florals; I think that's what makes this blend smell evil. I am usually not much of a fan of violets, but they do work well in the dark nature of Morgause. Not quite my thing, but a wickedly lovely blend just the same.

    Ladon

This is crisp, light, fruity, and wonderful! The dragon's blood in this blend takes a back seat to a gloriously golden apple note. It is tart, fresh, and lovely; I always love apple blends from BPAL! There is a pale, enticing, innocent white hyacinth note in the background which makes Ladon a bit feminine. Here ya go, apple lovers, this blend is for you!! I can't think of a lovelier combination of notes! This is great!

    Black Lily

Fabulous. The purest, loveliest lily scent ever. This reminds me of my wedding bouquet; it smelled just like this. It's just like walking into a flower store, opening one of the big glass cooler doors and breathing in the biggest, freshest cut lily you've ever seen. There is a certain.....edge of evilness in Black Lily; the part that makes it black. It's sort of like an evil lily disguised as a white wedding lily. Very unique. The is beautiful, I love it.

    Tanin'iver

OMG! HOLY RED HOTS BATMAN! Whoa this is possibly the spiciest cinnamon blend I've ever sniffed. (I know there is technically no cinnamon in this, but it's pure red hots on my skin) This is a screaming, red, overpoweringly spicy scent. Great for those who want to get noticed! Definitely not my thing.

    Chaos Theory

Each bottle of Chaos Theory is truly unique, a fragrant fractal, an exercise in the joy of chance and uncertainty! Each is a one-of-a-kind, utterly random combination of scents, the composition of which is based on whim, mood and gut instinct. Each bottle is numbered, and comes with a small parchment certificate. Chaos Theory CVIII Wow, this is one of the strongest pine scents I've ever sniffed! This isn't just a pine scent; this is a "I'm walking through a forest of towering pine trees with sap filled branches plastered to my nose" pine scent! I can also detect a hint of another greeness in there somewhere, a bit of hemlock perhaps? Very fresh, outdoorsy, clean and invigorating. This is a strong scent with a lot of throw, and wearing it makes me feel like a lumber jack I'm glad I finally got to try one of the original CT blends, very nice. Last reviewed by andrabell.

    Kanishta

Deliciously sexy! This ia a dark opium floral blend. The opium note is the base, which always makes me happy. The jasmine and magnolia act as the top notes, with the barest hint of seductive patchouli floating quietly behind them. I'm not sure what Haitian patchouli smells like straight up, but I can definitely smell that it is a bit different from Beth's normal patchouli note. On the dry down: the opium and jasmine take center stage, and this becomes a deliciously wicked feminine floral. This is indeed a perfect scent to embody the other women; there is nothing innocent about Kanishta. This is just lovely, my only complaint is that it doesn't have much throw. It's one of those blends you have to be close up to smell, but I guess that goes hand in hand with being the other woman. Very pretty, I will enjoy my bottle.

    Chintamani-Dhupa

This is a very lovely and unique scent! My first thought: soft pines and amber with a spicy incense undertone. This is a very "soft" yet sexy scent; I just can't stop sniffing my wrist. There may be a hint of smooth honey running through the undertones, but this is pretty much an amber blend on me. The resinous incense notes are somewhat of an afterthought. This has very good lasting power on me, which makes me very happy. I love this, I will wear this often.

    Abhisarika

This is a very light, creamy orchid scent. The orchid note in this is strong and is definitely on top. The white undertones smell like pink roses dipped in cream. This is extraordinarily feminine and perfumey; very pretty. The only thing I don't like about this one is that it has very light throw, and barely lasts 10 minutes on me. It is a beautiful, yet fleeting scent.

    Dolce Stil Nuovo

This starts out as a very sharp, clean, lavendar scent. The lavendar note is very strong and overpowering at first, but this stage only lasts for a few minutes. After the lavendar relaxes a little bit, the vanilla flower, jasmine, and rose notes start to show themselves, as well as the amber. This becomes a lovely, creamy, sweet floral with and edge of lavendar in the background. This is lovely, just not quite for me. I really do like this, though, as a soft women's fragrance.

    Geburah

Oh yes, deep, dark, strong leather with a deeply smoky but pleasant background. This leather note doesn't remind me of saddles, it reminds me of a black leather biker jacket with a sexy man in it! The undertones are clean and rather cologney. This is a strong scent with a lot of throw. I am not big on leather blends, but I do think this would be drop dead sexy on the right man.

    Tiphareth

This is a warm, spicy, woodsy/resinous scent. This is really very pretty! There are definitely some strongly wooded notes on top, but there is also a hot spiciness, like cinnamon but not quite as strong. I think I detect some sandalwood in there, and maybe some mild patchouli. This would be a very lovely room scent. This has medium throw, and is strong but not overpowering. I like it!

Bliss Soap (by Silk Road Trading Company)

This is a deep brown, rich looking soap with white spots in it. The cocoa is visible in little sand like bunches, which gives this soap a mild amount of pleasant scrubbiness. The Bliss scent in this isn't quite as strong as Snake Oil and Dorian soap, but it is very lovely combined with the creamy soap scent. This reminds me more of a chocolate brownie scent than straight up Bliss oil. This is the fourth BPAL soap I've tried, and really I've loved them all. This one is no exception, but Snake Oil is still the best

    Mantis

This is light, fresh, sweet and lovely. The top notes are very plant like and green, with maybe the barest hint of citrus fruit. The patchouli and amber combine to form the most gloriously lovely undertone. It's such a sweet undertone, it almost reminds me of fig. I love all the notes, in this, and this is a really pretty scent. Beautiful!!!

    Bien Loin D'Ici

This is very deep, animalistic musk scent. The top notes are an array of dark, heavy musks and the low notes are powdery amber and spices. There is a strange, yucky smelling note that my skin is pulling out; it smells like true orangutan musk....the not so fragrant kind. It reminds me of being in the monkey house at the zoo. This scent wants badly to smell fantastic on me, but my chemistry is just not allowing it. I'm sure this would be drop dead sexy on the right person, but my skin is turning it to funk
