How is it that I have never reviewed Snake Oil? On my skin, snake oil is spicy vanilla that just gets better with age. As it ages, it seems to thicken and the scent grows stronger for me. This is one of my favorite BPAL scents to layer with other scents. Almost anything layers well with Snake Oil. Definitely worth the hype and rave reviews.

This is a lovely rose and amber on my skin with occasional bursts of wood. A little powdery, as amber tends to be. The rose is soft and is not overpowering on my skin.

Creamy, honey beeswax. Slightly smoky upon application, but dries down to sweet beeswax.

This is very feminine & delicate. Resembles peaches and cream on my skin. And no jasmine detected at all on my skin.

This one is heavy leather & moss and I too would swear there was red musk in this one if I didn't otherwise know the notes.

This is soft floral and leather on my skin. I agree with the reviews about it being slightly sour right after application, but the leather emerges after a minute or so.

It's masculine, yet very wearable on a woman. It's this perfect balanced combination of black amber, tobacco, and leather on my skin. Dark and sexy.

Oooh yes, this is definitely hazelnut chocolate and butterscotch/caramel. Very foody and very nummy.

This is sugary snake oil and incense on my skin. Very nice. It's sweet but not too sweet for my tastes.

I get honey, a little something floral, and a bit of mint in this blend.

I'm getting spicy cinnamon, plums and carnations on my skin. A very lovely scent on me.

Warrior, Trickster and Goddess of Magic and Poets, she is one of the Tuatha De Danaan and the Queen of the Faeries. A very complex scent, both shadowy and fierce: black orchid, sandalwood, night-blooming jasmine, osmanthus, Somalian rose, and Chinese musk. Roses and jasmine on my skin. Too much floral and gives me a headache.

This is smoky vetiver and wood notes on my skin. A dark scent and quite masculine.

Heavy sage and cedar on my skin. Very masculine and woodsy.

I'm getting something very close to jasmine and an aquatic note with this blend. Goes soapy shortly after application. Not for me.

This is almost all pancake syrup on my skin. I had hoped for banana bread, or even butterscotch, but no such luck for me. And, jeez, does this have throw! I skin tested a drop of this--one drop. And my husband came in the door an hour later and said it reeked of pancakes in the room. While he won't say that he hates it on me, he does admit it's too strong for his tastes.

Old Nick, the Devil himself, as seen through the eyes of Victorian New England. A jaunty, dapper scent, deceptively genteel: a lavender fougere with tonka, amber, rosewood and a whiff of diabolical patchouli. This is nice....smooth. I'm getting lavender, amber, and tonka on my skin. The patchouli note is very mild on my skin. I find this scent very soothing and I think I may be tempted to buy another GC bottle after all.

Sniffing the bottle, this scent is light amber. On my skin, I'm getting a dusty amber, light skin musk, and a subtle metallic note. The amber is a little powdery, but not enough to ruin the scent for me. The throw is light and the scent fades fairly fast on my skin, like the Female scent does. This is a very gender-neutral scent in my opinion. It's not overly masculine and is easily wearable on a female without feeling too "manly".

Well, I'll go next on my interpretation of Female... When I sniff the bottle, it's very light, feminine, sugary. Reminds me a little of cotton candy. On my skin, I'm getting sugared violets----a little reminiscent of Faith----and something else that seems like a soft vanilla note. This ends up being a sugared vanilla violet scent on my skin. I'm getting absolutely no lavender with this and I always amp Lavender. So if there is lavender in this blend, it's the most subtle lavender note I've ever encountered. The sugar and vanilla notes that I smell on me keep this from really being a floral-heavy scent. So floral-haters should not necessarily be scared off so easily. It's sweet, but not at all foody. Very light throw and fades quickly on my skin, but I do love this and plan to keep my bottle. I'm curious too to see the official description of this scent once posted, because I just cannot smell ANY lavender in this and I tried for almost 2 hours before it faded to almost nothing.

I just got my bottle today so it may need to settle a bit, but at first sniff, I kind of panicked. I definitely smelled the BPAL Milk-Of-Doom note sniffing the bottle and wet on my skin. Fortunately, within a few minutes after application, the milk note begins to fade. I'm getting beeswax and the snow. BPAL's snow notes usually go to some variation of mint on my skin and this is no different, but the mint is very light and doesn't overpower. The milk note makes another bid for dominance, but I begin to smell the blackberry note in the background. This dries down to beeswax, (minty) snow, and lightly sweetened blackberries. And, yes, the milk note is still there in the background, but it's light enough now that I can deal with it.

This is a yummy green apple scent on my skin. Not overly sweet, but not tart either. I agree that on dry down, it's more apple blossom. Very nice and makes me think of Spring.

On my skin, heavy GARDENIA while wet. As it dries, I pick up the Lily as well. Morphs into a "soapy" scent on my skin within 15 minutes.

This one did not play well on my skin. Which was not surprising after I began reading prior reviews. On my skin, I get very heavy patchouli and hemp that nearly eclipse the vanilla note. Definitely sports a dirty hippie vibe on my skin.

Yes, thanks for posting the various Womb Furie bottles. I actually think I like the bottle design I received best out of all three.
