Wet on the skin, heavy on the cocoa. If you are chocolate and/or foody lover this is something worth trying. It's sort of a dry milk chocolate scent on my skin. I only wish it lasted longer.

    Thirteen (13), November 2009

Right after I apply this, it's mostly fudgy chocolate, but that soon changes. Within minutes, I begin to pick up a musky vanilla incense note that mingles with the chocolate and makes it WOW on my skin. Further drying brings out a sweet tobacco note, and rather than prunes, more plum on my skin. I think this is my second favorite 13 ever (just behind Brian's version earlier this year.)

    Salomé

Almond and oakmoss are the strongest on my skin. Almond begins to fade as it dries. Fully dry this becomes mostly a woody sandalwood. No jasmine for me.

    Catherine

Very strong rosemary on my skin after initial application. As it dries, I pick up the orange blossom note, but surprisingly the rose remains elusive. The rosemary is amping too much on my skin though for this to be viable contender for a bottle. I think I will pass this along to someone else who may enjoy it more than I.

    Midnight

Very floral on me. I'm having a hard time discerning individual notes. There is something kind of off with this on my skin though as it dries. It smells vaguely of spoiled sour cream on my skin. This will be off to the swap pile for me.

    Story Time at Dark Delicacies

Initially, quite sharp on my skin. Definitely getting the wood , parchment, and ink notes along with spicy incense. Just before it completely dries, I pick up the distinct scent of lemon butter cookies. I'm always amazed how dead-on Beth gets these fragrances.

    Sue's Great Old Puppet Show

I am getting both the hot chocolate and glue notes. I was afraid glue would make it smell icky, but while it does make the hot cocoa note smell a bit wonky, I kind of like it. icon_smile.gif The more it dries though, the less glue I am getting and it's becoming mostly hot chocolate on my skin.

    The Snack Hut

I'm getting Cherry Icee, sugary caramel, and a sweet buttery note with this blend. The Cherry note is the strongest, but I usually amp cherry notes, so not a surprise for me.

What do bottles and labels look like?

I've heard it described by Chatrient on LJ as "The bottle shows the lower half of a woman in a white dress that is striped red like a candy cane, and her high heels, plus shows Santa's lower half including his black boots...The name of the blend covers what he (or she!) is doing but I imagine the Grope is a frontal chest one *wink* "

What do bottles and labels look like?

For those interested, here are 3 of the new DD scents. I'm assuming The Nameless City Drive-In bottle is probably the same as The Snack Hut, based on Story Time & Puppet Show being the same.

    To a Woman

This one is mostly roses and patchouli on my skin. Very strong. Goes powdery...and woody after a couple minutes. Sadly, not meant for my skin chemistry.

    Mandrake

This is very woody on my skin. I get the pencil shavings scent others report. I also pick up a bit of root & soil on my skin, especially as it dries.

    Penny Dreadful

Wet on my skin, I get overly-buttery popcorn. Goes a bit spicy ginger as it dries, but still have that icky butter popcorn smell to it that lingers. This goes to the swap pile, I'm afraid.

    Faunalia

I get spicy, sweet pine wood and wild musk as the strongest notes on my skin. And what glasspillars said above comparing it to warm Coca Cola is spot on for me too.

    Snowball Fracas

Starts out as snow, dirt, and moss. As it dries, it sweetens on my skin, though I am not sure what is causing the sweetened effect. As usual, the snow note goes minty on me on drydown. The dirt note seems to disappear, but the moss remains. I agree it's a good winter scent.

    Ded Moroz

On my skin, woodsy peppermint right after application. The amber emerges as it dries. Remains crisp through drydown and ends up mostly peppermint with woody undertones.

    The Fruit of Paradise

Juicy, sweet, spicy, and a little bit tart pomegranate on my skin. Very Christmas-y and lovely to smell on my wrist.

    Joulumuori

I'm getting spicy plum/prunes strongest on my skin. I can smell the mead though in the background. It's nice, but with so many other Yules to choose from, I think I will stick with my decant of it.

    Snow-Flakes

Every time I try another snow blend, I always get mostly mint. No exception here either. This is a soft, creamy peppermint on my skin.

    Gacela of the Dark Death

Wet on the skin, very sharp pine. The clove note comes out after the oil is nearly dry. While the emergence of clove softens the scent a little, it's still a bit too sharp for my tastes. Fully dry it's sharp pine & spicy clove.

    When the Winter Chrysanthemums Go

Wet on the skin, very minty, but soft, not sharp mint. Floral notes emerge after a minute or so. Stays pretty much as a soft snow-covered minty floral on my skin through dry down. Very nice, but again, I will be content to just have a decant of this.

    The First Soft Snow

I do love snow scents, though I am finding out that they all end up smelling a lot alike once dry on my skin. This one does closely resemble Snow Bunny on my skin. I get a sweet, sharp pine and light snow, but nothing really aquatic either. Very nice scent, but I will be content with my decant.

    Yule Cat

First off, I knew this was not going to work on my skin, but I just wanted to try Yule Cat. It starts off all vetiver on my skin (which is not a surprise with my skin). After a few minutes, it does mellow enough that I pick up the wood note. Still, it's pretty much all fire and brimstone scent on my skin from wet to dry.

    Evening Cicadas and Red Peppers

Sharp, aquatic, mint, & eucalyptus on my skin. Not at all what I was expecting with this one.

    Nes Gadol Haya Sham

This is a gorgeous deep, spicy scent. I also get the lemon verbana and frankincense. It's also smells like there is a trace of cocoa in it, at least on my skin. Very nice!
