How is it that I have never reviewed this scent before? It's a favorite GC of mine. Inside the imp, it's a lovely creamy Irish Coffee. Makes you want to run out to Starbucks immediately. On the skin, creamy latte to begin with. A swirling bit of something like incense comes out shortly after application. Dries down to dusty creamed coffee. Definitely something to try if you enjoy BPAL's coffee notes.

If there was ever a scent that captured the essence of Hell, this one is it. Inside the imp, it's strong STRONG vetiver & brimstone. I could only dab a drop of this on my skin before I had to wash it off. Way too much on my skin. Heavy vetiver, heavy brimstone, and the smell of burnt flesh on my skin.

Inside the bottle, it's a creamy orange cake scent. On my skin, buttery orange cake with cream cheese frosting. Or at least that is the mouth-watering image stuck in my head. Very foody, very yummy. Medium throw and lasts a few hours on my skin. I tried this on one arm and Huesos on the other, and I swear they are nearly identical on my skin.

    Love's Philosophy

Inside the bottle, vanilla cream with an underlying sourness. Wet on the skin, it's vanilla marshmallow & something vaguely sour. Oooh, the more it dries, the sweeter and creamier it gets. Sour note is entirely gone once fully dry and I concur with the reviews that mention this smells like a yummy root beer float when all is said and done. Keeper!

    La Vita Nuova

Inside the bottle, apple blossom and rose. Wet on the skin, initially just the apple blossom. Shortly thereafter I am picking up the rose and a bit of citrus. As it dries more, I do pick up some of the grape as well, but it's wrapped around a floral note. Fully dry, it's a blending of apple, lemon, and grape mixed within a floral base.

    Prospero

Inside the bottle, this is mostly grapes and rich red wine. On my skin, I'm initially amping plum and grape. Within a few minutes of application, it's gorgeous plum wine and light musk. The more it dries, I pick up a bit of floral, but this scent is mostly characterized on my skin as being a rich, heady plum wine scent. Most definitely a keeper.

Sniffing the bottle, yes, definitely straight-up bubblegum. Wet on the skin, bubblegum concentrate. Reminds me of that first bite into a wad of bubblegum--you know when the sugar & flavor of it is almost too much for your salivary glands? As it begins to dry, it's still very much bubblegum, but I am getting a bit of cinnamon spice scent as well. Dry it's a combination of bubblegum, conversational hearts, and red hots. I'm really loving this scent and glad I had my Cobwebs fairy pick it up.

Inside the bottle, this has a spicy cologne quality to it. Wet on my skin, it starts out as lemon & lime citrus cologne. Actually, quite pleasant. As it begins to dry, I am picking up a distinct wood note--pine, I think. This dries down to a semi-sweet citrus & wood-based cologne on my skin. I'd say it does lean a bit more to the masculine side. I agree that it is a very "clean" smelling, slightly aquatic blend. I did not pick up any vetiver or dirt notes on my skin, for which I am thankful, as those do not always work so well on me. ETA: Now that this is fully dry, it's a cedar & pine wood scent, with just a hint of something sweet lurking in the background.

    Gore-Shock

I owned a bottle of this briefly. In sniffing it and applying a scant amount to my skin, it was mangled meat scent. It smells like a slaughterhouse. It's definitely a novel scent and shows Beth's amazing genius in blending something so realistic, but I can't imagine actually wearing it...except maybe for Halloween or as a gag.

The Sailing Stones of Death Valley

In the bottle, greenery, scorched sand, and something vaguely sweet. On my skin, starts off as cactus flowers and sun-baked sagebrush. As it dries, I am getting more sandy notes layering over the floral and tumbleweed. Dries down to a soft desert scent on me alive with blooming cactus and shifting sands.

The Ghosts of the Arroyo Seco Bridge

In the bottle, aquatic florals, just a little sharp. On my skin, this is spicy green floral and salt water. I'm also getting something like the mint I sniffed in B340. I'm really not getting anything that reminds me of cement, but I'm really not sure what wet cement smells like anyway, so maybe it's there and I just don't recognize it. As it dries, I get a bit of earth mixed in with the floral and aquatic notes. And it's turning slightly sweet on my skin, which is odd.

In the bottle, this smells of violets, something sweet, and a bit minty. On my skin, violets are the strongest note, although it's a soft violet. There is also a dusty rose quality to the scent on my skin. A sprinkling of something sweet over the delicate floral and mint. The descriptions of it being reminiscent of Victorian times are spot-on. It's so very difficult to describe this scent and convey just how lovely it is. Definitely my favorite from Convergence XV. Even if you don't normally go for the floral scents, it's worth trying a bit of it. I will be keeping this and looking forward to how it ages.

What do bottles and labels look like?

Thanks for posting Eyeska! I love the labels based right out of the book. Now, who has pics of the bottles Blackberry Jam & Cupcake Splatter to show off?

This is definitely floral, perhaps lily? And I am getting a soft musk scent as well. This does have a perfume feel to it. A bit cloying to my nose.

    Rosalind

Inside the imp, light florals. Wet on the skin, grass and berries. There is an aquatic quality to this scent. Dries down green floral. Sadly, no berries on the dry down on my skin.

    Lilium Inter Spinas

Sniffing the imp, I get mostly lily. Wet on the skin, sandalwood and fig upon initial application. Dries down to a creamy floral, but cannot really discern individual floral notes on my skin.

    Aizen-Myoo

Sniffing the imp, this is sharp citrus scent. Wet on the skin, I immediately smell the cherry blossom and black tea notes. Very refreshing. As it dries, it goes a bit more green on me. Dries down to mostly grapefruit and tea notes on my skin.

What do bottles and labels look like?

    Great label story.

The Phantom Cow of Yerba Buena Island

Sniffing the bottle, this is milk and herbs. Wet on my skin, the milk note immediately goes sour on me. The herbs give it a bit of sharpness. As it dries more, I'm getting something like citrus over the herbs and milk, which is making the sour milk note disappear. Fully dry, the citrus is gone and I'm left with herbs and cream.

    Mictecacihuatl

Wet on the skin, I'm getting wood, spice, and cigar tobacco notes immediately upon application. Reminds me more of pipe tobacco than Cigar tobacco. As it begins to dry, I'm picking up spicy roses and tobacco. So far, no stinky cigar smell on my skin. Dries down to muted spiced roses and sweet tobacco. I very much like this scent.

    Dirty

Sniffing the imp, I'm reminded of Downy fabric softener--the clean linen scent. Wet on my skin, this smells exactly like it did in the imp vial. A few minutes after application, I am getting some floral notes out of this. I'd agree with previous reviewer that it reminds me of Plumeria. By the time this is dry, it's less of a "clean" scent and more of a straight floral blend.
  22. angelicruin

    Danube

Inside the imp, aquatic florals. Wet on the skin, rhododendron and sea water. The more this dries, the scent becomes soapy on my skin. I have that problem with aquatic blends sometimes. Alas, this one is not for me.

    Wilde

This one is too masculine for me to wear, but I do love the scent. Enough that I gave my imp to the hubby to wear. HE smells amazing in it...bergamot, thyme, and lavender give off a clean, out-of-the-shower-fresh scent on the skin.
  24. angelicruin

    Ravenous

Sniffing the imp, it's deep, dark orange scented. Wet on the skin, bursting oranges. As it dries, I am getting a wee bit of the patchouli note, but the orange note owns my skin. I LOVE this scent. I'm a sucker for orange notes and this scent is amazing on my skin. Will be ordering a bottle of this amazing stuff.

    Malice

Inside the imp, patchouli and ylang ylang. Wet on the skin, ylang ylang, red patchouli, cloves, and myrrh. One of the few scents that I can smell every note upon initial application. Dries down to mainly cloves, patchouli, and myrrh.
