In the bottle: Sweetness. Toffee and nuts and chocolate all rolled into one. Wet: A weird green bitter smell (the hops?) with a little bit of nuttiness behind it. It still smells sweet, but much more muted. Wearing: This scent wore on me very well and seemed to change. The green smell disappeared almost immediately and the nutty sweet smell dominated. Later it began to smell exactly like this flavored coffee that my husband always drinks. Later still It smelled like sugared nuts swimming in syrup. I could still smell the oil on me 12 hours later. By this point it had reverted back to the yummy flavored coffee-type smell. Verdict: I like this scent. It morphs into so many beautiful smells on my skin if I can get past the first 10 minutes. Plus, it's very long lasting. It's a keeper.

In the bottle: Warm, heady, with just a touch of sweetness. Wet: I pick up more of the narcissus right away than I do the other smells. I don't get orange creamscicle, that's for sure. Wearing: The more I wear this one on me, the more vanilla I smell. About an hour in, it sort of smells like a bouqet dipped in frosting. The florals and the sweetness coexist nicely. At the 6 hour mark, I can really only smell vanilla, but that's still impressive because most BPAl scents don't last nearly that long on me. Verdict: This scent seems to react beautifuly to my chemistry. I really like how rich and mature it smells. This may finally be the floral for me.

Elizabeth included this one as a sample and I was wary of trying it because while I love pear, I'm not a big fan of the florals in this one. But since another sample she included (March Hare) turned out to be my favorite one in the order, I thought I'd give this one a go. In the bottle: Like a ripe pear spritzed with perfume. Wet: The pear is definitely the dominant note, but there is a curtain of floral right behind it which I am assuming is the Lily of the Valley. Wearing: As it wears, the sweetness/crispness of the pear fades and the florals also smooth down a bit. It winds up being a soft, powdery floral on me that lasts quite awhile. Verdict: Even though this perfume does last on my skin better than some others, it's still not my style. I think this one will be moved to the swap pile.

March Hare is my first true BPAL love. When I wear it on my skin, it almost bursts with fruitiness. The spiciness subtly wafts in and out serving as the perfect accent. It smells very strong and really lasts on me. I loved this scent so much that I mixed some with a bit of unscented light body lotion. To my suprise, when I wore it in lotion form, I got a very different type of scent. The clove is dominant and the fruitiness is very faint, but definitely present. It makes me feel like a warm baked good (in a good way. ) I love that I can wear this scent in two totally different, wondeful ways.

In the bottle: Pure, yummy, chocolate goodness. Wet: On me, it loses all of it's chocolatey-ness and turns very nutty, with just a hint of sweetness and something else I can't put my finger on. Wearing: After two hours, I did begin to pick up a bit of the pure chocolate note, but unfortunately by this point the scent had faded away to almost nothing. Verdict: As much as I would love to smell like chocolate all day, this scent just doesn't work on my skin. Looks like it's destined for the oil burner. I bet it will make a fabulous room scent. Yum.
