A stunning blend in every way. Both in the bottle and on skin, the same rich vanilla others are getting and what is, imo, an exceptionally lovely lavender. I'd almost swear there's also a hint of marshmallow in this =) It works beautifully, too! SO soothing. I got this for STBH because he sometimes has trouble getting to sleep. Not when he's wearing TKO. Well done

As with most of the db blends I've tried, this turned to sweet, powdery gardenia almost immediately. Poo.

If only I could wear rose blends this would be perfect. I can't, unfortunately, and this, like 99% of the other rose blends I've tried, gave me headache
-
Jasmine. Nothing else. No surprise, jasmine always SCREAMS its presence and obliterates every other note in a blend.

This one is a nice surprise, I'm not big on most fruit notes. In the imp it smelled familiar and quite lovely. Not too sweet, with a perfect tart, almost sour, edge. So I checked the description...Apricot?? I don't like apricot. Normally. This apricot isn't quite ripe, though. My favorite kinds of fruits to eat, firm, barely ripe, tart. YUM. To make it even better, I'm getting a luscious, smoky fig, too. Enough that this reminds me quite a bit of Carnal, one of my all-time favorites. This one's a keeper

Pretty much what Tramp says but I'll add my two cents. Snake Oil... and then nag champa emerges- YUM. There's also something in the background that I could almost swear is honey, but I guess it's sugar cane? All in all this is drop dead beautiful! Call it Snake Oil meets Hellion. I believe I just might have to get another bottle of this one

In the bottle this is juicy, for lack of a better word. The black coconut is gorgeous. It'd be flat out gorgeous if there wasn't a strong, powdery apple note that's trying hard to give me a headache I'll probably put this one aside and try it in a week or two. eta: Because I have no patience I tried this again today(01/21/07-day after it arrived). Applied a bit more this time and WOW!! Made all the difference in the world =) Beautiful herbs and coconut with an undercurrent of sweetness. Snake Oil lingering teasingly in the background...Absolutely lovely!! Yay!!!

In the imp it's all Spellbound & STRONG. Applied it lightens considerably and is closer to Sin, with a slightly sweeter cinnamon note, and vetiver. Musky, dark and delicious. Especially on him

Jasmine and soap. Not good. Poo.

This starts out as a bright, fresh lemon with a hint of spice and a touch of sweetness. The leather is barely there, almost nonexistent. As time goes by this becomes a light, creamy lemon that stays close to the skin. Definitely more on the masculine side. Elegantly male. Lovely!

From the bottle I get, more or less, the same sweet, creamy floral that I found in The Living Flame-with the addition of a very light hint of myrrh. Once applied the grapes start to emerge but they're subtle. Still getting that floral more than anything. Like most florals, it tickles my nose and has that light, airy perfumy thing going on. Not getting any fig, which is unusual, I tend to amp that one in the loveliest of ways. The grapes are trying hard to turn into that beautiful, nag champa-ish scent that I love about Beth's grape/wine notes, but aren't quite getting there. This is kinda Urd ultralight. With flowers. It goes from fading into nothing to back again. Every time it reappears the florals are weaker. A good thing.

In the imp there's something of a Coca Cola thing going on, the sweetness of it, mostly. On skin it becomes a thick, sweet, earthy resin, more masculine than fem. As it dries the scent deepens, then lightens, going from less masculine to back again. It only gets better as the minutes tick by and in the end, it's a gorgeous, syrupy resin, slightly smoky with a touch of what comes through as a light, sweet vanilla. Stays teasingly close to the skin. A wonderfully dark, seductive blend =) Haven't tried this on the man yet but I imagine it'll be even more beautiful on him. Might have to jump on the next bottle that comes along looking for a new home since I decided to be lame and not order one :/ Brian, beautifully done!

Wishlist frimp--thanks kp =) Sweet, spicy lavender at first, a bit on the masculine side. Once it hits the skin the sandalwood and tobacco emerge... rich, smoky. The nag champa starts to show itself and blends beautifully with the other notes and it becomes more of a gender neutral scent. Throw is subtle, and inviting. Especially on my Anthony, it's OMG to DIE for on him, and ALL masculine Methinks he should have a bottle of this, and then he can share it with me, like...skin on skin sharing

In the bottle, leather, spice & musk. On skin it's the same with a touch of sweetness. Elegant & warm with an undercurrent of darkness. A bit light on me, fades to barely there rather quickly. On my honey it's stronger...better. Very yummy!

In the imp and first applied this does what all blends with grape and/or wine notes do...Powdery grape Koolaid. It quickly morphs into a beautiful, sweetened-with honey-incense(I'm a sucker for BPAL's honey notes), with a *hint* of rich, succulent purple grapes. The throw isn't overwhelming, more like a breathy, come hither whisper. No one note stands out, they swirl around in perfect harmony. Definitely see a bottle in my future If you're a fan of Urd, Hellion or Lilith, to name a few, this one should be right up your alley LOVE this one!!

In the bottle, immediately I think of the spice in Bengal. On, the amber, musk and saffron quickly make an appearance. Quite beautifully I might add. As it dries it only gets better and better, the myrrh and lotus remain quietly in the background and I get none of the almond(a good thing!), and there's also a touch of a soft, buttery note in there. To me, this is similar to Scherezade and Skuld but different enough that it warrants a bottle. Sleek, warm, exotic. SO glad I finally snagged a bottle! My honey, btw, loves it, too

In the imp and first applied it's sour cherry candy. Five minutes or so later, it's a beautiful, sweet & slightly spicy, smoky incense, similar to Hellion, a good thing! There's also a hint of something figgy upon complete drydown, adding to the richness. "Full-bodied" is a dead-on description of this one. Dark, full, lush...Beautiful!

Piercingly sweet berries over evergreen boughs, deepened by the tree’s sacred wood. In the imp it's a sweet & lush spicy green. Once it's on my skin, there's a beautiful, rich woodsiness that emerges almost immediately. Crisp, clean, but also thick & sweet. There's nothing artificial about this one. It's a tad on the masculine side but not so much that it can't be worn by a woman. The surprise here...As the minutes tick by I'm reminded of another BPAL blend, SO familiar but I can't place it. Finally it dawns on me. Dorian. No lie, on me, this is Dorian.

I've had this on my wishlist since it came out and thanks to the lovely growwild, I finally got the chance to try it In the imp there's a lovely sweetness with the scent of wet, freshly upturned earth in the background. Applied it goes through a few seconds of generic perfume and then blossoms into a gorgeous, blend of sweetly decaying flowers surrounded by the scent of warm, wet earth. It brings to mind an old, lonely mausoleum(definitely in New Orleans)~damp with a humid chill(if that makes any sense)... Not a bright, fresh floral *whew*, but drying, decaying...The kind I adore. I don't get the boozy notes but that's okay, this is perfect just the way it is. Beautifully done! ::edited due to unfinished sentence, duh::

Both in the imp and on skin~soap/shampoo that tickles my nose :/ After a few minutes, the currant makes a short appearance while I wait, and hope, for the resin and musk. Alas, 'twas not to be.
-
This starts out as a semi-sweet herbal in the imp. On skin it quickly turns into a lovely, sweet floral incense-like scent. Within 20 minutes it's more of a soapy scent and threatens to bring on a big sneezing fit. The incense phase was nice, if only it stayed that way...
-
In the bottle it's a light buttery, sugared incense and almost but not quite boozy. The buttery note is very similar to the one in Jack, yum. On skin it lightens up a bit and the incense is a little more prominent. Goes through a short(fortunately), powdery gardenia phase(ick), but not enough to put me off or give me a headache *whew*. After about an hour or so, I'm left with a beautiful, close to the skin, sweet sugared incense. Glad to have a bottle

This is STUNNING! In the bottle it's a gorgeous, warm, exotic incense with a background of what to me is a juicy, not too sweet, plum wine. Once it hits the skin the scent deepens and there's the wonderful smell of nag champa, a subtle smoky sandalwood with the musk and patchouli flitting about. I don't get any narcissus, really. This is beautifully blended and one of the most perfect and richly exotic incense blends EVER. Longlasting with lovely throw. Btw, the man goes ga-ga over it
