This is gorgeous! In the imp it's Jack with a touch of Sugar Skull('05). On skin it's more Sugar Skull, smoky burnt sugar with a touch of maple syrup. In fact, this is almost a clone of my CTlll bottle =) A bit of Jack with heavier doses of Sugar Skull and Al Azif(w/o the acrid smoke). On me, all the above end up a beautiful, sweet almost syrupy, smoky incense blend. Mostly I'm thrilled to find such a close resemblance to my CTlll bottle Obviously, I'll be getting a bottle asap!

Not as strong a wet earth smell as in Zombi but definitely there, with a very light sweetness. Applied to skin it's the same as in the imp for quite a few minutes then the dirt starts to fade and a dry woodsiness(is that a word??), starts to emerge. It's very light, no throw really, and it doesn't stick around for very long. Nice, though.

I've held off on trying this one due to rose notes usually giving me a raging headache. *But* the rest of the notes are love, and since it was a frimp from a wonderful forumite, I finally got the chance to sample In the imp there's a juicy sweetness with the slightest hint of roses but they don't overwhelm and there's no instant throbbing at the temples. On skin it becomes perfumy soap. There's also that dryer sheet thing that's been mentioned previously. However, within a few minutes the musk and spices start to appear and it's quite lovely. The roses remain enough in the background in this one, yay. Reminds me quite a bit of Spellbound, which is on my "bottles to buy" list. Spellbound being a touch more incensy, so I'll stick with it. This isn't what I'd call a strictly masculine blend, more gender neutral, imo. As I said above, lovely!

I was hesitant to get this because BPAL DB doesn't like me(likes to pretend it's gardenia & powdered baby aspirin, blah), I'm not a big mimosa fan and cassia, well, no great love affair there most of the time... BUT, the rest of the notes OMG, I had to. So...I cautiously approached the imp, opened it reluctantly and yep, there it is, Red Hots candy, but it's light, and lo and behold, the DB didn't slap me in the face with a big, icky gardenia. There's hope. On skin the cinnamon strengthened very slightly and then settled down. At that stage it reminds me a bit of Bengal. Now please keep in mind that I applied barely a a couple of pin sized drops...After about 10-15 minutes it went through a wonky medicinal phase :l Then, slowly but surely...a bit of smokiness starts to emerge, then patchouli and pomegranate, then there's a hint of myrrh with a light muskiness in the background =) So I decided to dive in and apply more. So far so good. Spicy, smokey, not overwhelmingly sweet. Kinda sexy, too. It takes a while to get to that point but not so long I can't deal with it. Not sure if I'll ever get a bottle but ya never know. Oh, I never got Blood Moon or Red Phoenix out of this. Just that quick touch of Bengal

Wet/in the imp it's sweet, crackling fire and smoke. Like the smell of mesquite with fat drippings on it. As it dries there's the deep, rich scent of pine resin and sweet cedar smoke. This is gorgeous! Not a very heavy scent. Stays close to the skin without much throw. Definite 5ml candidate.

In the imp, sweet, almost candy-like floral. On skin it goes through a short, soapy phase then dries down to a lovely, light-incensy floral with a hint of sweetness. Very pretty!

Like LGK stated above, florals, not good. In the bottle I definitely get honey but mostly it reminds me of the same creamy floral/s I got from The Living Flame. Slightly sweet and spicy... Applied to skin it immediately turns all perfumy floral and so very girly, not quite my thing. But I hang in there... It's very light at first and finally, after about 30 minutes, the notes that prompted me to get this start to make their presence known, honey, musk, amber and spices. All blended beautifully, leaving me with a slightly spicy, slightly sweet goodness. Not much throw but it has decent staying power. Once it dries it's quite lovely. I expected this to be a bit on the darker side due to the name, but it'll do It's rather on the light side so I just might pick up another bottle, maybe...I want to know it's there without having to plaster my nose to my wrist (although it does strengthen a bit upon complete drydown)

In the bottle: This is almost exactly like Jack. All toasty warm, buttery pumpkin goodness. On skin: A slightly sweet lemon starts to emerge along with the ginger. Not overpowering but still rich and full. Spicy but not...This is, amazingly enough, a hard one to describe. Why? Because, well...Okay people, are you sitting? Dare I say? On my skin, this is like a clone of...ready? Shub-Niggurath Yep, on my skin, this is the Black Goat all over again Need I say more?

In the bottle: First impression after a very quick sniff- slightly sweetened, very light lavender(huh?), BUT, I was on the way out and didn't really have the time...Later, that's better! It's the sweet but slightly sharp scent of fir needles, like walking through a damp forest full of fir trees. Nothing artificial about it On skin(mine): Beautiful!! This goes through a series of different smells for me, the various notes taking turns making an appearance. The fir is prominent with the leather close behind. The cedar smoke is stunning! Amber and musk remain very quietly in the background but are definitely there. Finally, this settles into a gorgeous blend of what we all seem to agree every man should smell like. It's a bit on the light side on me but since I got it for my honey, he'll be the one wearing it most. As others have stated, this is more of a masculine scent, but not so much so that it can't be worn by a woman. I swiped a bit on the man as we were leaving so I haven't had much of a chance to truly appreciate it on him so I'll add that later. Definitely promising, though! And as he said when he stuck his nose to his wrist, "Yummy!".

Frimp from a wonderful forumite Upon seeing the color of the oil, Dragon's Blood. Uh oh... In the imp I immediately recognize the vetiver that's also in Blood Kiss(a favorite!). On skin/wet there's a strong, Red Hots candy cinnamon in the background that threatens to take over completely but doesn't quite. As it dries I'm reminded of Blood Kiss again. Blood Kiss with a touch of cinnamon. Finally I'm left with a beautiful, slightly dry and VERY light cinnamon spice with just a touch of Dargon's Blood sweetness(Yay!! It didn't go nuts!!) and something else that's coming through that smells quite a bit like vanilla. I'm liking it!!

Frimp from a lovely forumite =) In the imp it's a strong, almostbutnotquitesharp herbal. On skin...Best way to describe it is, light, honeyed coconut. Not a syrupy sweet honey, very light with a touch of tartness. Reminds me a bit of Eden but rounder... Due to the amber, maybe? It's very light on me but evokes the feeling of a waterfall in a lush, tropical forest(duh, right? lol). However, not much in the way of tropical fruits. Lovely blend, though

In the imp and first applied it's Lemonheads candies. Stays that way for a good 20 minutes or so then turns into a lovely and very light woodsy scent. No lavender, no mint, almond, etc. Very nice but fades to almost nothing.

Slightly powdery sandalwood with a touch of herbs and a softly sweet lemon/citrus. Definitely has an incense-like quality to it, which is good, imo. As it dries, the sandalwood comes through a bit more but never overpowers. Nice throw without being too strong. Lives up to the description in that it brings on a peaceful calm. Very nice

O.M.G. I don't even know where to begin with this, it's SO fargin' beautiful!! Okay, first...Mostly what t3andcrumpets & CLFilm said In the bottle it's musky with a touch of *very* light/barely there cinnamon spice. Slightly sweet. On skin the cinnamon fades almost instantly and I get a touch of perfumy opium far in the background which also fades. Not really getting anything I'd call floral. This conjures up the feeling of being in an old, abandoned candles burning haunted house in the Fall & the whole opium den thing is dead on, too(at least, I definitely get Johnny Depp/From Hell/opium den visions, lol). Smoky incense with a touch of creamy spice, hypnotic...drowsy and just this side of exotic. And that haunting something... Hmm, methinks this isn't a great review...I haven't done this beauty justice :/ I can't stop smelling my wrists, I want to bathe in this! The man was just waking up/half asleep(works graveyard shift), stuck my wrist under his nose...Big smile with eyes still closed and, "Mmmmm...that's beautiful!" It is

DDLM '05, which I mistakenly passed on last year :l In the bottle: Dry and sweet. On skin: It goes through a split second of very floral/perfumy then the various notes start to appear, none out-shining the other. The florals are the most subtle of all *whew*, and the rest just meld together, sweet, smoky incense that turns the skin into, "wanna eat me alive?" yumminess =) There's also something here that shares a similarity with the honey in Skuld(another of my favorites), not a sharp honey, but sticky and decadent. Also reminds me quite a bit of Samhain '05, but...juicier, if that makes any sense. Beautiful!

This is beautiful!!! In the imp it's almost a clone of Urd, which I LOVE. On skin it quickly morphs into a thick, almost sticky, amber and nag champa =) None of the lemon/citrus, etc., others have picked up, this is straight up, sweet smoky incense. Exactly what I'd imagined and hoped it'd be Exotic, sexy...great throw and longlasting. I adore it!

In the imp it's a strong, perfumy floral and it has almost a bit of a jasmine thing going on. On skin, again, *very* strong, spicy floral perfume and there's still that close-but-not-quite jasmine scent. After a few minutes it calms down and there's a subtle sweetness emerging that's quite lovely. As strong as it was in the beginning, it ends up going to the opposite end, very light. A light, spicy aquatic floral with a hint of sweetness.

In the bottle this is sweet and herbal. On skin, for the first few minutes it's a beautiful amber with a woodsy background and a touch of vanilla. As the minutes tick by, and it's not too many minutes, it goes all soapy powder I've tried it 3-4 times and the end result is the same. Very disappointing, it has some of my favorite *always works on me* notes. Oh well.

First sniff from the bottle, the red musk is strong and sharp. The same thing I get from Smut which for some reason really irritates my sinuses, uh oh. Same thing applied to skin :/ However, I didn't jump to conclusions because I just happened to come down with a horrid cold the same day. So...Gave it a couple of days so I could review it properly. In the bottle, I definitely get a Snake Oil vibe. The red musk is there but this time, it's subtle. In fact, I'm having a difficult time picking out individual notes. Each time I've put it on it goes through a short period of cedar, which I'm guessing is the patchouli leaf? In any case, I adore cedar so no biggie there. I swiped some on my sweetie and he got cedar, too, after the same amount of time. Then the sweetness starts to strengthen but never overwhelms. It's not the thick, SEX sweetness of Snake Oil but it's more sweet than not. Becomes part of your skin. Well, mine, anyway, lol. Wonderful throw and lasts for hours. Morning after I put it on, while I can't detect any on my skin really, I still catch whiffs of it on and off with vanilla peeking through a bit more than the other notes, however, again, beautifully blended. Very exotic & sexy. Evocative of plush velvets and satins, dark and lush. Very like S.O. & teh SMUT, but different and beautiful enough to stand on it's own and well worthy of multiple bottles. This afternoon before work the man was nuzzling my neck, "Mmmmm, I love this!!" It's pretty yummy on him, too.
-
Strong lemon-lime in the imp. Once applied, Lemonheads candies. The musk tries to show itself but it doesn't quite make it. Very light blend and disappears quickly. More of a masculine(duh, right?), blend. On him, while it's fairly yummy & he likes it quite well, it makes me sneeze :/
-
First impression~LEMON! Applied, the lemon softens and the honeysuckle is the more dominant note. There's a hint of the other notes & after a couple of more minutes I get a light, candy-like sweetness. Decent throw and lasting power. Another one that while lovely, not for me.
-
In the imp, fresh, aquatic florals. On skin it becomes more of a light & refreshing soap scent. Tickles my nose, too, lol. Very pretty but not for me.
-
In the bottle, sweet, juicy peaches and crisp, tart apples. On skin there's that, with a, sweet, musky undertone. I don't actually get frankincense and myrrh but they're there, adding a wonderful richness & depth that keeps this from being too fruity for me. It's almost incense-y/smoky. LOVE it!! Wonderful throw and lasts for hours. Reminds me a bit of Harvest Moon '06. Definitely more of a Fall scent...imo, anyway. Maybe because I associate apples with cooler weather? My stud muffin says, "Delicious!!" Yep, a keeper.

In the imp this is all honeydew melon. When first applied, Jolly Rancher's watermelon stix and I'm thinking, eh....no thanks. Within 3-5 minutes, lo and behold, sweet, creamy incense. The melon remains but it's so subtle it's almost hard to detect. Another 20 minutes or so and I get a weird, almost bandage-type smell. Can't quite place it but it's something I've smelled in hospitals...Maybe that sweet, antibacterial soap?? Strange.

In the bottle: Tart, crisp apples with an hint of pomegranate in the background. On skin: Blossoms into one of the most perfect, most beautiful Autumn blends EVER. I definitely get Samhain '05 here but the tart/fruit/smokiness is richer and it's a touch sweeter. Wild, tart berries, sage, dry, leafy woods. Beautifully blended, no one note rises above the others. This is like a village celebration in the center of an enchanted forest. I'll definitely be hunting down another bottle or two
