This is a really nice, lightly spiced white rose in the imp. Unfortunately, as soon as it hits my skin it goes super sharp. Wayyy too heady and perfumey -- something in here just doesn't agree with me. Too bad. I bet this would smell really nice on someone else.

Wow! Lots and lots of floral -- I can't even begin to untangle this. Sharp perfumey floral, and it pretty much stays that way until it disappears on me

My dream is to find a nice sweet rose. I thought this might work, what with the honey and all, but even in the imp it's overpoweringly candy sweet. I definitely get the roses, but they're surrounded by this strong syrupy orange lollipop scent. If you like super sweet things, this might be for you. Very much representative of Jezebel Anyway, then the honey comes out to play and it's all downhill from there for me. Apparently I can't do honey. Oh poo.

I think I set myself up for disappointment with this one. I got it as a frimp and just opened it up and sniffed it, not knowing what I was getting myself into. Now, I should explain, my brain automatically associates "forbidden fruit" with pomegranate...it's a thing...so there I go, sniffing my imp -- huh. Sweetish florals. ok. Weird. It's rather nice really, once I got past my initial expectations, but unfortunately my skin seems to do odd things with lotus. As in, lotus always seems to overpower anything else a blend might contain by turning into their weird soapy floral mess. Pretty, but not for me.

I really liked this in the vial -- just the right amount of sweet fruity pear and lightly musky florals -- exactly what I was expecting. Very very pretty. As it dried down, though, the pear pretty much disappeared and I was left with a nondescript floral. Still nice, but nothing to write home about. Too bad. This really had promise -- must be my wacky chemistry

There's a lot going on here, but if I stop thinking about it, it hits me as a general cologne kind of scent. Very classy and complex, though. Nothing to scoff at. Sweet, spicy and smoky. It smells like sexy man. Drydown: Ok, definitely not me. But good. Really really good. This is all smoke and leather -- sexy man is right! Yummm.

Oh my. WOW. The only word I can find for this is INTOXICATING. In the imp, it's bright citrus, chocolate, herbs and spices, and *ohmygod* MUSK! On me, the citrus disappears almost immediately and it turns into a gorgeous blend of rich spicy chocolate and smoky herbs. And lets not forget the musk. Absolutely amazing. If pressed, I'd probably say it's more of a masculine scent, but it can definitely be feminine as well...in that sexy badass kind of way. I definitely feel like I should be wielding a frickin' sword when I wear this. It gets a bit too heady for me after a while (I blame the musk), but it's a definite keeper. I might have to get a bottle for my manperson and just "borrow" it from time to time

Green herbs slithering through mint, lime and lavender. Not really what I was expecting -- I love mint, I love lime and I definitely love lavender, but I guess they don't really play well together as far as my nose is concerned. The mint was prevalent in the imp but once I put it on, it pretty much disappeared and I was left with a sharp, herbal, almost bitter (which I guess makes sense, considering the inspiration here) scent. Sadly, not for me.

Ooo I LIKE this! In the imp, it's sweet and fruity -- almost a bit tart -- grounded in something complex and woodsy to keep it from being too effervescent. Once I put it on, there's something a bit powdery that starts to come out. Beautiful golden scent with just the right amount of fruitiness. The drydown is very similar to Fae, except less fruity (which I like). It's kind of musky and woodsy, but still very bright and flirty. Not really me, but I really like it anyway

Very nice. In the imp, it's fresh and a bit tart -- definitely a light green scent. It reminds me very much of Shanghai, but less floral and more citrusy. Drydown, on me, is pretty much identical to the aforemetioned Shanghai -- there's that something I've learned to characterize as bpal's green tea note, surrounded by a kind of generic light and clean aroma. Very very nice, though I wished it lasted longer. Once summer rolls around, I might have to get a bottle and just slather this on.

Nice. In the imp, I detect powdery sugar, sweet fruit, and golden musky florals. Wet, the golden florals linger for a bit (I'm guessing it's the heliotrope?) and then the peach starts peeking out in earnest. Dry, it's sweet, a bit musky and a bit floral. Mostly peach, but complex enough to keep me interested. Definitely a light, golden scent. On me, this is almost indistinguishable from Tamora, but peachier.

Mmmm this is nice. In the imp it smells sweet, fruity, and a bit spicy. On: oh my...what's this? A berry I can actually wear? Almost anyway -- it flattens out a bit on my skin and loses some of its complexity, but at least there's no sign of that gross chewable vitamin note that berries tend to turn into on me. An hour later: still nice and sweet and fruity. It's not really me, but at least it actually smells good. If you normally have trouble with berry scent, this one may be worth a try -- maybe its the currant.

In the imp, this is beautifully complex. I don't detect the neroli, though it may be lurking in the background as an element of that overall complexity. To give it its proper due, Jester did hold up much better on my skin than most other berry scents I've tried. Still, ten minuted later, all I'm smelling is a sharp synthetic berry. Except this one also seems to have developed some kind of burnt buttery smell. Very weird.

I really wanted to love this one, if only because of the Shakespeare association. I really should have learned by now that I can't pull off bpal's berry notes, but I keep trying anyway. In the imp, this is ok. I don't know that I like it -- there's something funky in there that's setting off olfactory alarm bells for me. I don't know that I'd call it cough syrup, but I can't really think of anything more fitting either. The wine is lost on me. On drydown, the thing I might have identified as cough syrup turns into something that I can only describe as those chewable kids' vitamins. Yeah, the Flintstones kind. Oh well.

... Obatala’s ofrenda is soft, white and pure: milk, coconut meat, shea butter and cool, refreshing water. In the imp: WOW. Holy crap. I could bathe in this stuff. It's warm, coconutty, and creamy while still managing to be refreshing. I work with raw shea a lot and I can definitely identify a bit of that characteristic nuttyness here as well. I'm kind of ashamed to make this comparison as I'm not a huge fan of Bath & Body Works, but it almost reminds me of their Warm Vanilla and Brown Sugar scent (which I loved, despite myself). Alas, my love affair with Obatala ended about 10 minutes after putting it on. All those wonderful notes I got from the imp stuck around long enough to lull me into a false sense of wonderfully smelly security and then...lo and behold...GAG. Jezebel did this same thing on me and I blamed the honey -- not sure what the culprit is here -- but there's this sickeningly sweet, cloying, buttery note that's just overpowering everything. Damn. I need to keep this stuff around without actually touching it.

If I try really really hard, I can distinguish all the composite notes in the imp. Very masculine -- too masculine for my tastes -- but nice and complex, if rather generic. Once it touches my skin, it becomes obvious that Casanova and I are just not meant to be. He smells like my younger brother once he's soaked himself in whatever it is that teenage boys seem to think embodies the essence of manliness before heading out to the mall on a Friday night. Mehhh.

I've thought of trying this one since I really like rose, but given bpal's slew of rose blends, this never really drew me in enough to actually buy an imp. And then I got a frimp of it with my last lab order. Oh. My. God. Seance, where have you been all my life? I was a bit weary at first -- in the bottle it's a dusty, almost musty (in the way that old houses that no one's lived in for decades might be) rose. If I concentrate, I can pinpoint the hazelnut -- most likely combining with the wood -- as the cause of that mustyness. Don't get me wrong, it's really nice. It calls up this nostalgic sense of history...old journals and faded lace, maybe a small bouquet of dried roses someone left behind on top of an antique wooden table. Still, I don't know that I'd want to smell like this all day. As it starts to dry down, though, it's pure roses. All that mustyness from before just disappears and I'm left with something surprisingly fresh. Like that old bouquet just came back to life. This is the first rose scent that I haven't found overly heavy or cloying. It's soft, fresh, and everything I would ever want from a single note rose. Very subtle and understated, but unbelievably beautiful. Definite bottle, once I use up my imp

In the bottle, all I really get is roses. There's something else lurking there, but I can't really put my finger on it. Yup, definitely roses. After putting it on, the roses start to fade away and are replaced by this odd generic perfume smell. Very sharp and heady. Not for me, I think.

In the bottle, I get delicious berries and grounded in herbs. Wet: Mmmm....this is what I was hoping Glasgow would smell like. Lovely sweet berries and just the right amount of herbyness. I'm not getting any tea, but that's ok. Dry: Uh-oh. This is what I was worried about. It seems bpal's berry notes just don't like my skin after the first 10 minutes or so -- there's something weirdly sharp and pungent coming out here. Kind of reminds me of old lady perfume mixed with potpourri. I really wanted this one to work on me. Oh poo.

I'm not getting the blackberry in this -- in the imp it's all herbs, albeit very nice ones. I don't know what heather is supposed to smell like, but I guess this is it. Dry: Blegh. I'm not sure how to describe this, but cleaning supplies come to mind. There's something in here that obviously doesn't agree with me

Very nice. Nothing terribly unique, but a beautiful blend. The roses come out strong in the wet stage and it dries down to a lovely floral sandalwood. I know the patchouli is in there somewhere, but it seems to blend into the general woodsyness as far as my nose is concerned.

Really nice apple, through and through. And there's definitely something else lurking under the surface -- sinister herbaceous goodness

Really really nice. The lemon verbena and honeysuckle definitely lead this one, with the green tea serving as a nice base. I wish the tea was more prominent, but if I don't get stuck on wanting it to be a straightforward green tea, I really love this one. It stays very fresh and zesty - just the right amount of citrusy herb and soft floral. It does disappear rather quickly on me, which is unfortunate as I'm very fond of it.

I tried this as part of my quest for a lavender I can actually wear. In the imp, it's beautiful -- I'm getting everything -- wonderful herbaceous lavender, soft lotus, and a hint of that spice. Really gorgeous. Unfortunately, as soon as it touches my skin, all those great herby notes disappear and all I get is soft sweet lotus (or what I'm identifying as lotus). Very feminine and subtle. Still lovely, but not for me
