My first sniff of it in the bottle wasn't too bad. It reminded me of Arkham. Oh, okay. I left it for a day or two, because my personal chemistry was weird thanks to the cold-medicine I was taking. Then, I went back and smelled it again-- SOAP. The distinct smell of Ivory bar-soap. Wet, it smelled like Ivory bar soap for a while. Then, it changed: it became soft, quiet, and rather blackberry-ish. It kinda reminded me of something by Bath & Body Works, without the stuff that gives me headaches. It's quite a lovely scent-- someone else called it a nighttime scent. Yup. Once it dries down and gets out of the Ivory soap phase, it does evoke imagines of the night sky through the trees in a churchyard.

Sweet and just a bit dusty-- Kind of like a shiny claw, sprinkled with sawdust. Dragon's Claw is a pretty straight-up perfume of dragon's blood and sandalwood. No surprises, here. Lasts a fairly long time, too.

Named after the Roman God of Sleep. This blend helps bring on deep, restful, natural sleep. Soft and very herb-y in the imp. My first thought upon smelling it was "Lavender and chamomile." An unusual lavender-- more herb lavender rather than the stuff one normally finds, and it quite reminds me of the vial of Lavender essential oil I got at the Abbey Senanque in Provence. There may be a bit of rose in it, too. It doesn't really put me to sleep, but it's a quite, relaxing scent-- a good one to put on before bed.

Friendly, charming, and cuddly, but possessing one hell of a mean streak: cocoa absolute, French vanilla, birch tar, lavender, bourbon vetiver, wild musk, clary sage, and cistus. This is a really great scent. The first and formost thing I smell is the cocoa. Lots of chocolate. I'm not a chocolate fan, but what really saves it is the vanilla. The vanilla tempers the chocolate, and keeps it from getting too enthousiastic. Every so often, you get a breath of something metallic-ish-- lavender? and a touch of something like mint. Would that be Wulric's mean streak? Oddly enough, this doesn't quite remind me of "Wluric," as portrayed by the Lab... it reminds me of Remus Lupin. ;

Sensual, robust, and silken: voluptuous red rose bursting with lascivious red wine and sultry dragon’s blood resin. Ah, this one broke my heart. I got it as a frimp from the Lab with one of my orders. It smelled wonderful in the bottle: Sweet, rose-y and a touch of cherry, with something dark and wrong about it, like the Rose from the Dark Tower series. I put it on, with high hopes, and found... it smelled like mouldering flowers on me. I suppose that's not an altogether bad thing, but it's not something I want to smell like.

This was the first BPAL scent I ever tried, and it remains one of my absolute favorites... In the bottle, it smells dark, brooding and kind of menacing-- a male mixing poison. On me, it brightens up into herbs and kind of smells like bright, green herbs poking up through the damp, dark forest floor in early spring. I don't know if it's actually in there, but Lemon Verbena sticks out the most. Well... the scent is more like how the living Lemon Verbena plant smells. Or rather, how I precieve it does.

In the bottle, and when first applied, I'm smacked in the face with honeydew melon. Then, as it dries, I start to notice another aquatic note that took me a minute to realize it was cucumber. Then, sweet flowers trail in. I feel like kappa-bait. More feminine than I usually go for, but a really nice, cool scent for summer.

Up first is pine. It smells clean and woodsy, like a forest early in the morning. It's like this for a while, then mellows to a sweet, white sandalwood. In general, a very plesant scent.

Wow. I find this scent just amazing... When I ordered it, I was dumb and thought it was going to be some artistic interpretation of "Graveyard Dirt," but I was bowled over when I actually got a chance to smell it. It really does smell like good, wet dirt. The healthy kind of dirt that's full of potential. I find it to be a relaxing scent and would wear it as an every-day perfume, but I work as a houskeeper and no one wants their housekeeper to smell like dirt.

When the bottle first arrived, I took a sniff, and didn't really care for it-- I found it a little astringent. A bit later I sniffed it again and put it on. Then, fell in love. There is an herby-astringent note, but it mellows and starts to smell like Vanilla-Rum tea that's been made into a chai-- warm with spice and vanilla. And yanno, there's something about it that reminds me of LoupGarou, but Hellhound smells more like a dog rather than a wolf.
