    Perversion

Perversion is MUCH sweeter on my skin than I would have imagined. To begin with I get a lot of the chardonnay and rum, almost fruity sweet on my skin, but drying I get more of the leather and tonka. I don't really pick up any tobacco in Perversion but I can almost *feel* something reminiscent of it lingering in the background. I think I like this more when it has calmed down a bit and I get wiffs of sultry, sweet leather and tonka goodness. It's a funny mixture of sophisticated and sexy/dirty girl which leaves me intrigued - but maybe it's too "loud" and glam rock to my taste. Still, I cannot stop sniffing my wrist

    Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2006)

First impression I get is that Mme Moriarty reminds me a lot of Blood Kiss without the honey and vetiver. Mme Moriarty is truly a remarkable scent but I am not sure if I will treasure it above Blood Kiss, oddly enough I do not feel completely blown away. Maybe its got something to do with throw and wear length: Blood Kiss lasts forever on my skin while the Madame disappears within a couple of hours on my skin and is overall more subtle on me
  3. I'd definetly go for Black Annis and Samhainophobia as well - I am wearing them both today and smell wonderfully spooky

    Bastet

Bastet was surprisingly light and freshly floral on my skin - on drydown I get more of the almonds and just a hint of spice. I am not sure I like the almonds that much though - I guess wish I got more spice out of Bastet

    Snake Oil

I have to say that Snake Oil did its own little weird play with my chemistry. I initially bought this oil as a decant off the swap board just out of curiosity as it seems to be THE definite bpal oil. Alas, I got disappointed and, as you may well imagine, frustrated because I did not get the dream scent that so many have been getting from this oil. I mean, I love vanilla, I love incense and spice and patchouli - it should work with me I have tried it for a week now, stubborn as I am, and all I got until today was baby powder with a plastic vanilla note sitting on top. Then today, I put some Snake Oil on my wrist and rubbed them together, and voila: Spicy patchouli vanilla goodness! Now I just hope it will behave itself on my skin because this is just hoooey

    Nocnitsa

I do not get fir or upturned earth, instead there was a berry explosion on my wrist I may have to try Nocnitsa several times to see if the berries subside on my wonky skin

    Samhainophobia

Love!!!! I am so happy that I bought Samhainophobia out of sheer gut instinct - this simply had to be an instant favourite, and it was. Out of the bottle, it reminds me a bit of Black Annis and this is good news to me, believe it or not: A fragrance reminiscent of liqorice and damp woods with patchouli in the background, which Black Annis does not have On skin this starts out rather subdued to my surprise: Menthol and patchouli and vetiver. It sweetens after a couple of minutes. After about half an hour Samhainophobia really takes off, both in strenght and utter gourgous scent heaven. I am now sorrounded by a cloud of cinnamon (?), liqorice and woodsmoke with patchouli. It reminds me of a stronger version of Devil's Night which I also adore. Ten thumps up for Samhainophobia! Edited to add that the menthol note I get is probably the balsams and the cinnamon note might be the clove. Not sure though, but it would fit with the description of notes in Samhainophobia.

    The Brides of Dracula

The Brides of Dracula is definetly über-feminine and eerie sexiness! I had actually convinced myself that I could not love this oil because it is very "white" but I have been proven wrong - again I really like the combination of honey, spices and the florals - it is very intriguing and I definetly get an otherwordly vibe out of Brides of Dracula - a masterpiece!

    Midnight on the Midway (2006)

Oh dear, Midnight on the Midway did not work with my skin chemistry at all - it almost instantly turns into a sharp, soapy floral and stays that way for hours - and I was soo hoping for some spun sugary incense Maybe it is the jasmine, I am not sure but this imp will have to be loved by someone with an agreeable skin chemistry.

    Voodoo

A wonderful frimp ! I also get the dr. Pepper vibe from this oil immediatly from sniffing this but when I concentrate I can distinguish lime, pine, vetiver, patchouli and clove in that descending order. Originally I would never have considered ordering this myself as I would have feared it would be too masculine for me. However, it is not. It is such a unique, complex, sexy scent and it has swept me away to voodoo-land with its spine tingling components. The fiancé almost ate my wrist when I wore this one the first time. Why must I love so many oils?

    Smut

I am sad to say that Smut is not working with my chemistry that well . First, I get a nutty, sour scent out of trying this but the drydown is lovely though - sweet and musky and longlasting. I am just not completely sure about the strange intense sourness that develops on my skin the first hour of wearing .

    Devil's Night

Concerning Devil's Night, well I have found a new love - again! Only this time I am really absolutely positive that I need to buy more than one bottle of an oil immediately. I was a bit concerned about the thuggish musk as many others have been, but there was no need to worry about that - the musk blends perfectly with all the other notes. In the vial: Sugary ginger and cinnamon which is good because I love spices, especially cinnamon Wet: A quick rush of sugar, booze and musk followed by a very smoky note with spices which lasts for at least half an hour Drying/dry: Sugarsweet, spicy, musky light scent Need, need, need!

    Eat Me

Cakecakecake! Ok, seriously this scent reminds of a South African bread pudding that I got for Christmas last year with custard and everything with some added blackcurrant jelly on the side. I love this to bits!

    Sed Non Satiata

My first impression of Sed Non Satiata was unexpected because I detected a mixture of something fruity/berry-ish with honey and musk in the vial. Wet on right wrist: Wow, this is strong - an allconsuming musk/honey/floral/booze scent is surrounding me - easily one of the strongest oils I have tried yet! Drying/dry: Still very strong and I can smell the patchouli now blending with the honey and floral notes - up close the scent is a teeny bit soapy and clean smelling but the waft is very sweet and alluring - I like it a lot!

    Nyarlathotep

On me Nyarlathotep turned into a very lovely men's cologne, however, I prefer to smell like a girl . I gave this to my fiancé to try and it is absolutely stunning and sexy on him, almost leathery and with a hint of citrus

    The Lady of Shalott

I got this imp as an extra with an ebay auction In the imp this oil is out of this world of floral and aquatic yumminess: Beautiful blue/green aquatic notes and a creamy floral which I guess is the gardenia. Unfortunately it disappears a few minutes after application and I simply cannot detect any notes except from a vague gardenia note. I think I will need to test this oil more times to see if it still disappears; too bad because it is such a beauty in the imp.

    Lucretia

In the beginning I get the woody/citrussy scent that others have mentioned but it almost immediatly turns into smokey violets with a touch of vanilla and something fresh and citrussy which must be the mandarin. Beautiful and mysteriously elegant - i definetly need to try out more violet scents

    Bat-Woman

Oooh I got to try Batwoman and let me tell you: this is a veery classic floral in a sort of French and elegant way but not as perfumey as I thought it would be. I tested the vial two times; the first time I only got floral, floral, floral - especially calla lily and jasmine with that airy quality that others have mentioned. Pretty but not really "me". Second time I tried it I got more of the lavender and verbena and much more of the nighttime air, the other florals come out to play but they are wellmannered. This time around I really love it so I guess I will have to test it some more times to see how much this will change on me. Very lovely!

The search for the perfect Violet....

I just tried Morgause today - it is primarily violets on the drydown with berries and a touch of incense, at least on my skin. It is the loveliest violet scent I have tried so far .

    Morgause

I chose this scent partly because Morgause is my favourite character of the Arthurian legends and also partly because I could not resist the combination of violet, nightblooming flowers and incense . In the vial: Jasmine and violets with a spicy note, quite perfumey but I love perfumey . Wet on skin: Wow, heady floral indeed! The violet is quite prominent. After a minute or so, it turns very berry/plummy on my skin with the violet in the background, this is truly a purple scent of many facettes ranging from fresh bright violet to sweet dark plum and blackberries. Drying down: Fruity notes really love my skin, it seems, because it becomes the main driver of the scent as it dries, the incense peaks through and gets acquainted with the other notes, lovely . Overall verdict: Morgause really is a lovely, intriguing scent, very feminine and mysterious - I feel I can not do it justice by wearing jeans and a t-shirt - this calls for long, flowing robes and ribbons in my hair. I need a bottle of Morgause *sigh*.

    Blood Kiss

This was one of those scents that I simply had to try based on the name and the components of notes . In the vial: Spicy honey and very potent! I was a bit nervous that it would turn into the same experience I had with O because of the strong honey. Wet on skin: Strong, as strong as Sin was on me! I guess I have to go ligthly with Blood Kiss. Initially, this is honey and clove and I like it lots . Drying down: The red wine comes out to play with the honey and clove, the honey mellows out, thankfully, and it dries down to a spicy combination of vanilla and clove, with the red wine toning down. Over all verdict: I think I have a new favourite here - definetly a bottle for me .

    Morocco

Initially, I get a lot of vanilla from Morocco but it is a soft gentle vanilla with some warm spices. On my skin it stays in its vanilla stage - I would have loved more spices though - it is also a lot sweeter than I would have thought. I really like Morocco so far as it is a very warm, sensual and "friendly" scent, I only wish it would not have disappeared within one hour from my skin . I have to try Morocco some more times before I decide if this is going to be a bottle or not, hmmm.

    Urd

This was a really fun scent to try because the grape pops out at once and says hello, only to leave my skin seconds later. Then, pencil shavings make their announcement for a couple of minutes, and then again, poof! - Patchouli and Nag Champa takes the leading role - this is almost like Tour de France ! After 20 minutes or so, the muscadine makes a comeback and mingles in the background with Patchouli and, especially, Nag Champa in the foreground. I really love this scent - up close on skin it is very sweet - away it just smells like Nag Champa and, yes, Headshop with a capital H! This was also the first comment I got from wearing the scent . This really lasts a long time and wafts a lot - a real attention seeker this one.

    Vinland

The smell of my forefathers, of course I had to try it . First sniffle: Primarily quite fruity, especially citrus, I also get a hint of maybe grass or...pine? Wet on skin: Initially it is very fruity the first minute or so and then it becomes very citrussy, almost sour on my skin. Dry down: It sweetens as it dries, the citrus wanes and leaves the berries in the forefront with the smell of sunkissed grass and forest. It actually reminds me of the smell of ripe berries in a forest in Northern Sweden in the middel of summer where we once used to live . Over all verdict: Holy gravy this just gets better and better, I think I have found a perfect summer scent here!

    Rosalind

First wiff: Light flowers with a crisp, almost sharp undertone - unlike others I do not get the berries in Rosalind. Wet on skin: Oh, not good - this immidiately turns into aftershave on my skin, and not a good aftershave . Dry down: It faded quite fast on me and it stayed bitter sharp aftershave on my skin all the time. Over all: Not a winner on my skin, unfortunately .
