Oh man, this is heavenly. The name alone drew me to this, and I wasn't sorry I ordered the imp! (In fact, now my mom wants it too, so I'm going to try to get her to split a 5mL or 10mL with me. *grin*) In the bottle this makes me think fleetinly of Morocco, which is a good thing. Spices underneath vanilla & a light musk. On me it stays about the same, aside from deepening and getting a teeny bit more vanilla-y. It's sweet and complicated and makes me feel confident and sensual. This is very much a lazing about the house dressed in lingerie kind of scent to me. Not necessarily with anyone about, just being decandent. Ooh, like eating choclate covered strawberries on satin sheets decandent, that's it!

Milk Moon might be a good choice for your mom, and dragon's milk as well. (I get compliments on that often.) For your sister... shoot, I just don't know! I don't know the notes on florals as much because they don't work well on me.
-
I don't recall the exact notes - I tried this several days ago when pranashakti surprised me with an itty bit in the mail (yay!). I do recall thinking that I loved it, wanted to have its babies, and seriously thought of eloping.

I'm all for Morocco & Dorian. Morocco was given to me by a forumite with wishes of dreaming of kohl-lined eyes and a hot body to warm the sheets. I can comfortably say that although I'm in a committed relationship with the Boy, I'm bi and can say that the idea of a scent like this wafting off a woman makes my mouth water. *ahem* I should... go..

Ohhhh... this is niiice. In the bottle it's a little sharp for me, a little dusky for my taste. The sassafras really stands out to me - it makes me think fleetingly of my great-grandmothers pantry. Wet on the skin and the vanilla leaps out at me. There's something almost minty under it (which would be the sassafras, I'm guessing, even though under vanialla it's a much different scent). Drying off and the vanilla is merging playfully with the sassafras. The balsam isn't anywhere in evidence, but it's ok... this smells at once warm and dry, almost dusty. I like it. ETA: While I don't get the "root beer" thing others have mentioned, it does smell vaguely like birch beer to me!

You may want to contact the person who sent these to you and ask them if there could have been a mixup? Most of the forumites here are very good about helping out and if they made a mistake we pretty much all 'fess up.

I am completely unashamed to admit that my biggest weakness in food is fried dough with more-than-could-possibly-be-even-remotely-like-healthy amounts of melted butter, topped with thick layers of cinnamon and sugar. How I'm not 600lbs is beyond me. Anyway, this scent is like walking into the fairgrounds and heading for that stall in liquid form. I'm in love. No, I'm in heaven. Fat, happy, gluttonous food heaven.

I finally got the actual Snake Charmer in, and I have mixed feelings on it. In the bottle this is strong, strong, strong. It smells yummy and delicious and utterly edible. I put it on and I have to endure about an hour of it smelling vaguely unpleasant - I think it's the coconut, which doesn't like me in most forms. It has helluva throw though, I will say that. After an hour the scent has faded into only being accesible by sniffing where I applied it directly... and now the sickiness is gone! The faint scent that's left is gorgeous - amber, vanilla and a very slight fruitiness underneath. It's really too bad it doesn't get 'there' sooner/last longer once it does get there.
-
Somewhere along the lines I read TONKA and missed carnation. Oops. This scent is rather nice, but it's not striking me as a "me" scent. A little too floral, and carnations - while I love them on my desk - in a bottle turn to rancidness quickly. *woe*

I snapped up Numb as soon as I saw the update without knowing exactly why... I'm not usually one for cool scents. I tend towards the hot scents - you know the ones. This came in and in the bottle it smells quite a lot like baby powder. But I tried it on and it's lovely. Ordinarily I dislike violet, but in this blend I can pick out notes that are paired with other scents that really compliment it. It dries down and fades quickly, but this is one bottle I'm going to hoard gleefully. *grin*
-
..... 'scuse me... I think I need a towel...
-
This blend is... *guh* I don't think I could possibly get down to notes and all of that - I smell vanilla and amber in it, but just those two can't possibly be the sum of this Sex In A Bottle. I put this on and immediately feel (and smell) like some kind of ancient goddess who lords it over all manner of sexual things, and who is honored by the deflowering of virgins in ecstatic rites. *ahem* I should go take a cold shower, mmkay?

I think it's really, really funny that I can't see about half the pictures of the labels because my work's filter labels it as "Pornography"!! That being said, I cannot WAIT for Midway to come my way, and the Elementals look gorgeous. And I totally 2nd yesbutnobut's request for a photo of the LitA label!!

This one was a little disconcerting in the bottle. I got a strong scent of cocoa with a lemony undertone. On my skin the fig comes blasting out an overwhelms me. The cocoa and the lemon stay in the background, but unfortunately this one just does not work out on my skin at all.

Wow. Just wow. I got this as a frimp in my CN order and I'm so glad I did! It's not something I'd have chosen myself, but it's niiiiiiiiice. In the bottle - green, but not too green. There's a slight musky undertone that evens it out. On the skin - the green is prominent for all of 30 seconds, and then it starts to fade into a murky, greenish scent with some kind of undertone that makes me think of walking by the graveyard in New Orleans. Later - Awww! As it's fading it's turning powdery on me!! That's just not fair! *pouts* Maybe I can use it as a diffuser oil...
-
I just rec'd this as a frimp from the Lab, and when I read the description I actually got a little teary-eyed. I have both financial woes (got laid off) and domestic ones (boyfriend issues) and I couldn't help but think Beth was psychic. On to the review: In the bottle this is amazingly minty. Not in the candy type way, but in the way that straight peppermint oil is. After I applied it to my arm (and accidentally got some on my lip when I bent to sniff if, and now my lip has that tingly feeling!!) for a while all I got was mint. After a while though, something else started to peak through and give the scent more depth and a touch of sweetness. I definitely like this one - I wouldn't have bought it for myself, but I'm so glad I have it. Who knows? Maybe it will help with woes!

Miskatonic University When I first opened up the imp I was sent by a lovely forumite, I was disappointed. It smelled too sweet, and I was pretty sure I wasn't going to like it. But I've long since learned to never judge Beth's oils by how they smell in the bottle, so I gamely applied it to my wrists and rushed off to work. About an hour later I'm sitting at my desk and I pause to think, "What is that lovely scent?" and it dawns on me - it's me! Well, more accurately, it's MisU on me. It's faded from being almost too sweet - reminding me of honey & chocolate, don't ask me why - to being just sweet enough to catch the nose and make you sniff after it. I'm lousy at picking out notes, which makes me something of a poor reviewer, but I really like this one. I'm glad now that I followed my gut and ordered a 5mL of it just before SiA ended!! LATER: My processor just walked in and asked me why did she smell pancakes with maple syrup? *lol*

Autumn Scents - recommend the ones you love

Oooh, I like Jack. I also have to say that for some reason Djinn makes me feel very cool-nights-in-dark-woods-y. The again, I rarely wear scents based on seasons - instead I wear them based on feel, or how I WANT to feel. -
I was so excited to try this scent, because I loved hearing about Anne Bonny as a child (so I was a little bloodthirsty, so what?) and I love sandalwood. Unfortunately, the patchouli did not like my skin at all. This somehow turned to Skin-So-Soft on me right away. *sniff*

I recently got an Imp of Dragon's Blood from a swap. The day I got it I also got 5 other swaps in, so I was sitting on my living room floor with a shit-eating grin on my face and a pile of Imps I was happily sniffing my way through. I got to Dragon's Blood and my eyes lit up. I placed it aside, planning to start a "try on first" pile. Every single last one I sniffed just didn't push Dragon's Blood off the moutain. *grin* It smells like power. It's earthy, and warm - almost hot without cinnamon - and on my skin it melts into drooling-worthy goodness.

I got this as a bonus from Beth, and upon first sniff I made a face and said, "Oh, ew, no way." I held it out to my fellow-addict Linz and she pulled the same face. Two weeks later I opened it back up and somehow the scent drew me in. I put it on and now I'm totally into it. It makes me feel dangerous, alive, like I'm the kind of being who looks like a person on the outside but can leave you to burn as they walk away without a backward glance. I really like it. It's sharp, acrid, slightly green scent. Actually, it smells (to me) like the scent of something very fresh and green just being lit on fire, like a sapling being sacrificed. After a few hours it smells slightly sweeter, like the sacrifice was accepted in grace.

I've read in some of these reviews that this is a cross between O and Snake Oil, in which case I must get my hands on some O right now. Like yesterday. I love this scent. It is to me the scent I can reach for when Snake Oil is just a little too blatant. You know, it's like wearing a little sign that says, "Sex would be great right now, plsthx." rather than hiring a blimp to follow you around trailing a banner saying, "ME NEED HOT LOVIN' NOW!" In short, this is a great scent. Not too sweet, sexy, mischevious, and can put a glint in my eye.

In the Bottle: This is heavenly. It smells like spice cake. No! It smells just like the Snickerdoodle cookies I love so much!! Cinnamon & sugar and other spices. Wet: A little more of the spice and less of the sugary-ness, but it's just as good now as it was in the bottle. I'm tempted to gnaw on my wrists, they smell so good. I decide I against it because I'm pretty sure that's reason to be committed. Dry down: The ginger is coming out more, and the sweetness is fading. Still, the scent makes me very happy. Hungry though. It makes me hungry!! I must start reading up on Lovecraft & Cthulu, because I want to wear this scent (and Miskatonic U, when I get it) and read about what inspired these.

Lady of Shallot: In the bottle: Very floral, almost overpoweringly so. The gardenia is prevalent, with something that smells like a shallow stream in the cool morning air. Wet: The throw on the gardenia is huge. I can’t smell anything else right now. Dry-down: The water notes are coming through now, although the gardenia is still the strongest note. It makes me think of opening your eyes under water. Dry: It’s slightly musky now, but it’s not working on my skin. The gardenias start to smell crushed down and old, and the scents are jarring together on my skin. It’s a shame, too, because I liked it in the bottle!!
